With the news that the NSA has been collecting information on the phone calls and Internet communication of all Americans, TheBlaze TV’s comedy show “The B.S. of A.” aired a parody skit of a conversation with “NSA agent” Operative Ned Dossen.

“Speaking of inviting you, I hadn’t even pressed ‘send’ on the email yet,” host Brian Sack told Dossen, played by TheBlaze’s Matt Fisher.

“No need, no need,” Dossen replied dismissively. “Of all the Orwellian bureaucracies, I like to think we give taxpayers the best bang for their buck.”

Teacher Charged After Students Pierce Ear, Stomach in Class

April Beard, a high school teacher in Pennsylvania, allegedly allowed a student to pierce Beard’s ear and then another student’s stomach — in class.

Beard, 34, was charged with endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors, police said. Court records show she also was charged with body piercing of a minor.

According to Carroll Township Police, on April 16, Beard took a “handful” of students into a project room, and left the rest of the students in the classroom. Chief Sean Kapfhammer said a student with a piercing kit was then allowed to pierce Beard’s left ear three times and then pierce another student’s belly button.

Police said Beard paid the student $20 and gave her a homemade necklace as payment for the piercings. Beard then told the students, “What just happen(ed) here does not leave the room,” according to charging documents.

Did Senior State Department Security Officials Commit Perjury? (+video)

Two top officials at the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service (DS) — the federal law enforcement agency that protects American diplomats and investigates allegations of criminal misconduct by State Department employees — gave sworn testimony earlier this year that appears to be evasive at best, and untrue at worst, according to evidence obtained by Fox News.

The officials are Scott Bultrowicz, who until Feb. 1 served as director of DS, and Tracy H. Mahaffey, who remains the executive director of DS. In videotaped depositions conducted this past February, Bultrowicz claimed not to know about any claims by a federal agency that DS officials have failed to follow proper procedures; and Mahaffey claimed not to know about any pending investigations into DS.

Yet Fox News has obtained meeting notes, draft reports and other evidence that suggest both officials were aware, at the time they were deposed, of a pending investigation into DS and its operations by the State Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG). What’s more, both officials had been apprised of the OIG’s preliminary finding that DS did indeed fail to follow proper procedures in at least eight cases, and possibly more, because of “undue influence” and “pressure” brought to bear by senior State Department officials to halt internal investigations.

Could this Keep NSA From Listening In?

Americans worried about National Security Agency surveillance are flocking to alternative technology providers and apps that will actually encrypt their phone calls, according to a Fox News report.

“Sales of online apps to encrypt cell calls are soaring,” reports Fox News correspondent David Lee Miller. “For as little as a few dollars a month there are now at least half a dozen companies such as Silent Circle and Seecrypt selling apps, making it difficult if not impossible for the government or anyone else to monitor your private communication.”

Miller notes both the sending and receiving cell phones need the app for the call to remain secure.

Michael Janke, CEO of Silent Circle boasted to Fox News that the encryption service his company runs would take “all of the world’s supercomputers put together 44 years to break the encryption of 1 message.”

Harvey Boulter, chairman of Seecrypt, revealed his company is following another trend: alternative technology providers locating overseas to avoid the reach of the NSA.

Largest Medical Military Hospital to Furlough Thousands, Putting Wounded Vets’ Care at Risk

Thousands of civilian workers at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center — the country’s top facility for wounded combat soldiers — are facing furloughs this summer, as a result of sequester and other federal budget problems, according to the Defense Department.

Roughly 2,400 workers at the suburban Washington facility were recently notified by letter that the department needs them to take off as many as 11 days without pay this summer to help with “extraordinary and serious budgets challenges.”

The furloughs target a wide scope of non-combat facilities and civilian workers to “provide the war-fighters with what they need to protect national security,” states the May 28 letter, first obtained by Federal News Radio.

In a development that worries advocacy groups, the furloughs will impact about 94 percent of the Walter Reed civilian staff including doctors, nurses, lab technicians and physical therapists.

Kansas Secretary of State Says Pro-Amnesty, Trespassing Protesters Should be Prosecuted Under Anti-KKK Laws (+video)

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R) compared the tactics used by hundreds of protesters who marched on his home over the weekend to “KKK-type of intimidation” on the Glenn Beck radio program Tuesday.

Targeted for his work on combating illegal immigration, Kobach has certainly faced opposition in the past, but it has always been in public locations. Now, he says, “the left has crossed a line” by surrounding his home.

Kobach said he is asking prosecutors to look into how the mob may have violated civil rights laws, explaining: “They’re called the Klan Laws…a set of laws that say you cannot intimidate an official by trespassing on his property threatening violence, [and] you cannot intimidate an individual by threatening violence so that they don’t vote or don’t exercise their civil rights.”

After Beck noted that Martin Luther King, Jr. faced similar intimidation tactics, Kobach agreed: “This is exactly — they’re just not wearing white cloaks — but this is exactly KKK-type of intimidation.”

The secretary of state proceeded to describe what he has learned about the protesters, organized by a group called “Sunflower Community Action.” He said the group rose to prominence around the time ACORN shut down, has “lots of money,” and at least one full-time, paid community organizer.

A Houston man is accused of threatening to burn U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and his father unless the senator paid him $3 million, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office…

An intern at Cruz’s Austin office told investigators that a man called the office on June 5, saying that Cruz “owed him money or a bomb would explode,” according to an arrest warrant filed in the case. The man, who identified himself as Abolfazi Akbori, called again the same day after the office had closed and left a threatening message on the office’s voicemail system…

The message states, “Ted has a choice. Give me three million dollars or lose the sun.” The caller said that “due to government misconduct the sun would blow up and said he might be able to prevent the sun from blowing up if he receives three million dollars,” according to the arrest warrant.

It didn’t take long for investigators to track down Gates, who allegedly made the threatening calls from his home telephone.

In a June 10 interview at his Houston apartment with an agent with the Federal Protective Services, Gates admitted to making the phone calls, prosecutors said. He told investigators that he previously spent 12 days in the Harris County Mental Health Center.

Cornyn, the second-ranking Republican in the Senate, disclosed in a series of amendments he began filing last year that he had been collecting the $10,122 pension since 2006, but had not listed it on his original disclosure reports from 2006 through 2010.

Joe Miller Welcomes ‘Rockefeller Republicans’ to Alaska Senate Race

P1020045Anchorage, AK – Earlier today, Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell declared his intent to run for the Republican nomination for Alaska’s US Senate seat currently occupied by former Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich.

“I welcome Mr. Treadwell to the race,” said Miller. “Competition is a good thing. I look forward to a vigorous debate on the issues facing the country, and the great state of Alaska.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with CNBC yesterday, Mr. Begich stated that he was “more of a Rockefeller Republican” than a Pelosi Democrat. This despite the fact that he has voted with Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid 92% of the time in the 112th Congress.

One has to wonder whether this says more about Mark Begich or Rockefeller Republicans. But the senator’s fascination with a privileged, uber-rich, big government, big spending corporate shill from the Northeast is pretty curious.

Nonetheless, Joe Miller wishes to congratulate Mr. Begich on his induction into the Rockefeller Republican Club. “Mr. Treadwell will appreciate some company,” said Miller. “Given Alaska’s demographics, I’m sure it probably gets lonely over at the country club.”

Joe Miller is a husband, father, war veteran, businessman, and Constitutional conservative who believes in limited government, the Right to life, individual liberty, private property, and free markets.
