Video: James O’Keefe Busts Media Hypocrites On Gun-Free Zones

Gun-control advocates claim that if we got rid of all the guns, if we rounded them all up and melted them down to make decorative planters and such, there’d be no more crime. No more guns = no more gun crime. Yay!

When people who actually have some common sense hear this, they retort that disarming law-abiding citizens only makes them more vulnerable to criminals, who don’t obey laws because they’re, y’know… criminals. The Second Amendment doesn’t stop being a right just because someone abuses it, and it’s immoral to punish good people for the actions of bad people.

It’s easy to write an op-ed about gun control, or to spout off about it on TV. But how many of these gun-grabbing pundits and “journalists” would be willing to practice what they preach? How many of them would want everybody in the neighborhoods where they live to know that there are no guns on their premises?

Prop-a-palooza: The Use and Abuse of Kiddie Human Shields

The president of the United States will release a binder full of new gun-control executive orders on Wednesday. Instead of standing alone, bearing full responsibility for the imperial actions he is about to take, President Obama will surround himself with an audience of kids who wrote to him after the Newtown, Conn., school massacre. This is the most cynical in Beltway theatrical staging — a feckless attempt to invoke “For the Children” immunity by hiding behind them.

What has happened to the deliberative process in this country? Public debate in Washington has deteriorated into Sesame Street sing-a-longs. We are already inundated with logical fallacies: argumentum ad populum (it’s popular, therefore it’s true); argumentum ad nauseam (if you repeat it often enough, it’ll become truth); argumentum ad hominem (sabotage the person, sabotage the truth); and argumentum ad verecundiam (if my favorite authority says it’s true, it’s true).

To that list we can now add “argumentum ad filium”: If politicians appeal to the children, it’s unassailably good and true. The Obama White House has shamelessly employed this kiddie human shield strategy at every turn to blunt substantive criticism and dissent.

During the legislative battle that rammed the federal health care takeover through Capitol Hill and down our throats, President Obama and the Democrats piled up youth props around them like bunker sandbags. Nancy Pelosi wore babies like Wonder Woman bracelets, one on each arm, to deflect troublesome questions about costs and constitutional concerns.

Obamacare stage managers paraded 11-year-old Marcelas Owens of Washington state in front of the cameras to make the case for the half-trillion-dollar tax hike plan. The boy’s “qualifications”? Owens’ mother, Tiffany, had died of pulmonary hypertension at the age of 27. A single mother of three, she lost her job as a fast-food manager and lost her insurance. She received emergency care and treatment throughout her illness, but died in 2007.

Obama Administration Seeks Approval to Test Anthrax Vaccine on Children?

The Obama Administration is seeking approval to conduct morally impermissible, wholly non-therapeutic medical experiments that would expose healthy children to risks of serious harm.

Specifically, the Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to test the highly controversial, dangerous Anthrax vaccine, on children. [Editor’s Note: the author from Health Impact News cites the Federal Register for this information, but there is no explicit reference to the anthrax vaccine in the cited material].

For over a year, the Commission has been attempting to find a rationale for endorsing a proposed government policy that would violate fundamental medical ethics principles. Principles mandated under the Nuremberg Code after the atrocities committed under the Nazi regime came to light.

Under US Law, research involving greater than minimal risk and no prospect of direct benefit to individual [child] subjects, is prohibited in healthy children. (45 CFR 46, subpart D).

If not stopped, the US government would override ethical and legal prohibitions by testing “medical countermeasures” on unprotected children who are legally incapable of giving informed consent. The government would subject healthy but socioeconomically deprived American children to unjustifiable risks of harm–to be exploited as human guinea pigs.

Gohmert: Fast and Furious Proves Gun Control Should Start with Administration

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said Tuesday that if the President Obama wants to impose new restrictions on gun ownership, he should start with his own administration, given how it handled the Fast and Furious gun-walking operation.

“[W]e have a president who makes speeches and an attorney general that makes speeches about how they’re going to go after illegal gun sales, and yet there is blood on the hands of people in this administration, and we can’t even find out who they are,” Gohmert said on the House floor Tuesday night.

Gohmert referenced the Fast and Furious operation indirectly, by noting that the Obama administration instructed gun dealers to sell guns to illegally, and promised to track those guns as they made their way to criminals. Some of the guns that were “walked” were eventually found where U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry was killed in 2010.

“The guns were not followed,” he said. “They made their way into criminals’ hands, as was intended, but they weren’t followed.”

Video Emerges of Egyptian Leader Morsi Blasting Jews, Zionists in 2010

As Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi claims he will uphold a peace treaty with Israel, a video has emerged of 2010 speech in which he lashes out at Jews and Zionists.

According to The New York Times, Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, spoke at a rally against the Israeli blockade of Gaza, telling Egyptians to “never forget, brothers, to nurse our children and our grandchildren on hatred for them: for Zionists, for Jews.”

Morsi went on to say Palestine would be freed through resistance, and called President Obama a liar.

The speech was first shown Friday on Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef’s television show, according to the paper, and was made after a flareup in 2010 between Israel and Gaza.

Surprise, Surprise: Murkowski Opposes Spending Cuts In Exchange For Higher Debt Ceiling

Breaking with the GOP, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said in an interview published Tuesday that she does not think the debt ceiling should be political leverage to cut government spending.

“If you incur an obligation, you have a responsibility to pay for that,” Murkowski told The Fairbanks-Daily News Miner.

The paper stated that Murkowski “doesn’t think the debt limit should be used for political leverage,” but the paper did not quote her directly beyond that on the subject matter. A Murkowski spokesperson confirmed that the story was accurate to POLITICO on Tuesday.

Obama Recruits Children to Push Gun Bans: Will Act On His Own, Prod Congress (+video)

Acting just a month after the Connecticut school shootings, President Obama will unveil a sweeping package of gun controls Wednesday and will challenge Congress to ban high-capacity magazines and military-style semi-automatic rifles involved in recent shooting rampages.

Mr. Obama, who will make his announcement surrounded by children who wrote letters to him about gun violence, is expected to propose some moves he can take on his own. He also will demand that Congress break a decades-long refusal and enact the first new controls on firearms and ammunition since the early 1990s.

States are acting already.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday signed into law the strictest gun-control measures in the country, which will ban assault weapons, restrict ammunition and move to prevent the mentally ill from obtaining firearms . . .

Similar proposals are likely to meet stiff resistance on Capitol Hill, where the Senate’s top Democrat has said the ban on semi-automatic “assault weapons” has little chance of passing. Lawmakers have jealously guarded their powers when it comes to action on gun regulations.

Trump: If GOP Doesn’t Hold Firm ‘Country Will Go To Hell’

It’s fair to say that Donald Trump hasn’t exactly been impressed with the GOP’s competence at the negotiating table. In a tweet sent out after Congressional Republicans and President Barack Obama averted the fiscal cliff, the author of The Art of the Deal and Time to Get Tough noted that Republicans may well be the “worst negotiators in history.”

Human Events caught up with Trump and asked him if he had any advice for the GOP moving forward.

When Republicans and Barack Obama came to an agreement on the fiscal cliff, you claimed that the Republicans might be the worst negotiators in history. Is this due to having the wrong people in place, or do they lack leverage to get it done?

Well, I like John Boehner very much and I respect him very much, so I don’t understand the reasoning behind the last negotiation. Republicans were in an incredibly strong position. They got nothing and they gave up their most powerful card. Republicans just didn’t seem to have the ability to deal with this issue.

[Trump Tweet] “Obama and the Democrats are laughing at the deal they just made…the Republicans got nothing!”

Fitch May Downgrade U.S. Credit Rating

LONDON (AP) — The United States could lose its top credit rating for the second time from a leading credit agency if there’s a delay in raising the country’s debt ceiling, Fitch Ratings warned Tuesday.

Congress has to increase the country’s debt limit, which effectively rules how much debt the U.S. can have, by March 1 or face a potential default. There are fears that the debate will deteriorate into the squabbling and political brinkmanship that marked the last effort to raise the ceiling in the summer of 2011. The U.S. Treasury Department warned then that it had nearly reached a point where it would be unable “to meet our commitments securely.”

If Fitch does move to downgrade the US, it will join Standard & Poor’s, which was so concerned by the dysfunctional 2011 debate that it stripped the U.S. of its triple A rating for the first time in the country’s history. Another major ratings agency, Moody’s, also has a negative view on the U.S. outlook.

“The pressure on the U.S. rating, if anything, is increasing,” David Riley, managing director of Fitch Ratings’ global sovereigns division said at a London conference. “We thought the 2011 crisis was a one-off event …. if we have a repeat we will place the U.S. rating under review.”

If that happens, Riley said there was “a material risk” of the rating coming down.

LA Times Interviews Alaska Militia Leader About Informant Fulton and FBI

The Los Angeles Times is continuing its coverage of the FBI’s involvement in Alaska politics via its leftwing informant, Bill Fulton.

In its article last night, the Times interviews an Alaskan militia leader, Norm Olson, who claims that Fulton “was used by the FBI to wreck Joe Miller’s bid” for the US Senate.

But most of Olson’s vitriol seems directed at Fulton’s efforts to infiltrate Alaska’s Citizens Militia, based out of Kenai, Alaska. Olson lambasted Fulton for trying to play “the big man in Anchorage, boasting about this and bragging about that, how he was ex-military intelligence.” He told the Times that the Obama supporter had “tried to target his militia as well, supplying him with a ‘barn full’ of military gear,” suggesting the type of entrapment others close to Fulton have previously complained of.

But Olson, the streetwise founder of the Michigan Militia prior to his move to Alaska several years ago, was “wary of Greeks bearing gifts.” Claiming he knows a little bit about the FBI, Olson explained that, “anybody comes up to me with fancy toys or gift items, I’m always a little bit wary of what’s going on. I tell people, if you really want to give me something, give me cash, and make it anonymous.”

One member of the Kenai’s Alaska’s Citizen Militia forum suggested that the FBI might have Fulton killed and then try to pin it on the Alaska militias: “If he does get whacked it will be used to label Alaska militia men and women as dangerous terrorists. I would not put it past the FBI to grease him themselves in order to set up a false flag against the patriot movement up here.”

Olson seemed to agree stating, “They’ll paint the [Alaska] militia much like the mafia: you can [get] out, leave feet first. They can use his ‘passing’ as a message to anyone who affiliates with the militia that they are the savages that the central government paints us out to be.”

He concluded that the FBI would use Fulton’s death as a way to eliminate “any hope for a political comeback” for Joe Miller, stating that “Joe’s support for the militia, the Constitution, state Sovereignty and the Rule of Law is well known. Placing him in a controversy about the suspicious nature of Bill Fulton’s death would absolutely disable Joe.”

Fulton, who is in hiding Outside, apparently has gotten the message: “I don’t think the militia guys in Alaska are so happy about me right now,” he told the Times.
