In a somber announcement on Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Military revealed that two Navy SEALs who went missing nearly two weeks ago during a mission off the coast of Africa are now presumed dead. The tragic incident occurred during a nighttime interdiction mission on January 11, where the SEALs were climbing onto a vessel when one was knocked off by powerful ocean waves.

Following protocol, the next Navy SEAL in line jumped into the water to assist in the rescue efforts. Despite a 10-day exhaustive search, the missing SEALs have not been located, and their status has been officially changed to deceased, as confirmed by U.S. Central Command. The search and rescue operation transitioned into recovery operations.

Japan and Spain joined the U.S. in the extensive search efforts, covering more than 21,000 square miles. According to Italy’s National Institute of Statistics, the national birthrate is down to 1.25 children per woman, well below the replacement rate. Germany Went All in on the Green Transition. Now, Its Economy Is Crumbling

Germany fully bought into the green energy transition, but its economy is now showing serious signs of weakness as a prolonged energy crisis runs its course.

The country is aiming to have its energy supply and demand reach “net-zero” emissions by 2050, relying on sources like wind, solar and hydrogen fuels after former Prime Minister Angela Merkel decided in 2011 to eventually shutter the country’s nuclear power plant fleet. Despite the German government’s regulatory and spending blitz to usher in the green transition, the country is not on track to meet its climate goals, but its decision to rely on intermittent green energy generation has contributed to an ongoing energy crisis that is crippling its economy.

“Hollowing out the economy is not benefiting the German people, nor is it helping climate change,” Diana Furtchtgott-Roth, Director of the Center for Energy, Climate and Environment at the Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It is not reducing emissions, because manufacturing is being shifted to other nations, like China and India, that use dirtier energy. The German economy is going down, and their people do not have the jobs and economic opportunities that they used to.”

Germany ultimately closed the last of its nuclear power plants in April 2023. Several months later, the German government announced that it would activate coal-fired power plants to ensure adequate supply through this winter.

The signs of Germany’s economic withering are numerous, perhaps most visible in the fact that it shrank in 2023 after growing by less than 2% in 2022, according to Euronews. The country is facing the high borrowing costs and inflationary pressures that are dogging many of the West’s economies, but sticky energy inflation remains the key factor in the country’s economic malaise, both for consumers and corporations, according to Reuters. Viral Video Depicting Couple’s Life Living in Storage Unit Leads to Their Eviction

A Philadelphia couple was evicted after a TikTok video of them living in a storage unit went viral, the Atlanta Black Star reported Saturday.

The video Leland Desmond Brown Jr., 28, posted on TikTok explaining why he was living in a storage unit rather than an apartment got tens of millions of views, the outlet reported. Brown said he and his girlfriend planned on saving money for an RV and, eventually, a home, according to the newspaper.

After the video went viral, however, the storage unit’s management sent Brown an eviction notice which cited a violation of the terms of the facility’s contract, according to the outlet. The couple was given until the end of January to vacate the premises, the outlet reported.

“So we got kicked out of our storage unit,” Brown said in a new post. “The higher-ups found out about my video and went so viral we ended up getting kicked out. INSANITY: Trans Golfer Wins Women’s Tournament, One Step Closer to LPGA Qualifier

A male-born transgender golfer is one more step closer to winning membership as a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) competitor after winning a woman’s tournament in Florida.

Hailey Davidson, 30, won the NXXT Women’s Classic on Jan. 17 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club, near Orlando, Florida, with a one-over-73 score and finishing the three-round event at a +4, the New York Post reported.

Davidson, a Scottish-born man whose real name is James Scott Davidson, supposedly began hormone treatments in Sept. of 2015, the last year he he competed as a man, to begin the transition to a transgender woman, Golf Week reported.

After undergoing full gender reassignment surgery, Davidson set his sights on becoming a female pro golfer and won his first women’s tournament in May of 2021, five years after beginning the transition. By June of that year, Davidson received confirmation from the LPGA that he was eligible to join the league’s qualifying school and work towards earning his women’s golf membership card.

Man Stabbed in Neck During Randall’s Island Migrant Shelter Melee; 18 in Custody but Suspect on the Loose

By New York Post. A wild melee at the troubled Randall’s Island migrant shelter Thursday left an [illegal alien] stabbed in the neck and 18 people in custody — with cops still hunting for the knife-wielding suspect, law-enforcement sources say.

A brawl broke out at the troubled shelter around 3:30 p.m. between two groups, who started fighting inside the shelter but then took it outside — armed with knives and throwing rocks at each other, sources said.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed during violent chaos, sources said.

He was taken by EMTs to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

A 911 caller initially indicated to cops that a security guard stabbed the victim, but police sources later said it appeared that was not the case and that the assailant was still at large.
