Jeff Bezos has a habit of issuing splashy philanthropic promises while offering few details. The latest: a $100 million pledge to help rebuild Maui after August’s devastating wildfires. . .

This isn’t the first time Bezos has offered few specifics on his philanthropy. There was the $10 billion climate pledge, nine-figure gifts to famous friends and a vague promise to give away the majority of his wealth — all of which came with little more than a dollar figure and subject area, if that. . .

“Nobody’s heard anything at all,” said Angus McKelvey, the state senator representing West Maui, adding that he’s disappointed in the lack of information and collaboration. “Had they simply consulted with the community and myself and other representatives, we would’ve told them, ‘Take your money and put it over here.’”

Trisha Kehaulani Watson, vice president of native Hawaiian nonprofit ‘Āina Momona, said they haven’t gotten any of the money and was unaware of anyone in her network of nonprofits who has.

Poll: Majority of MAGA Voters Want Trump to Seek ‘Revenge’ if Re-Elected (VIDEO)

A recent CBS News/YouGov survey reveals that a significant majority of Make America Great Again (MAGA) voters believe former President Donald Trump should seek revenge in a potential second term by criminally charging his political opponents. The survey, conducted among likely Republican primary voters, also highlighted Trump’s strong lead in the GOP primary, surpassing his opponents by 55 points with 69 percent support.

According to the survey conducted from January 10-12, 2024, 55 percent of MAGA voters expressed support for Trump seeking revenge through criminal charges against political opponents in a second term. Meanwhile, three in ten non-MAGA voters also agreed with the idea. However, 45 percent of MAGA voters indicated that Trump should not pursue retribution in that manner, and a majority of non-MAGA voters (70 percent) shared this perspective.

Trump’s potential pursuit of retribution became a topic of discussion during a Fox News town hall held in Iowa, where the former president addressed the issue. Trump acknowledged that some might view seeking revenge as justified in light of what he described as various hoaxes, including the Russia investigation and intelligence agent hoaxes. Despite the survey’s findings, Trump emphasized that his focus would be on making the country successful and stated, “I’m not gonna have time for retribution. Our ultimate retribution is success.”

The town hall event featuring Trump garnered significant attention, with nearly double the viewership of CNN’s Republican primary debate, serving as counter-programming to the debate between Trump’s rivals, Nikki Haley and Gov. Ron DeSantis.

For starters, Taiwan elected Lai Ching-te of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as their next president last week, who has vowed to keep the island nation independent from communist China. This comes despite China’s warnings that Taiwan will be reunited with it either through elections or through the Chinese military invading the country. . .

Those fears are like to surge even further given a new report from The Wall Street Journal this week that warns that billions of dollars worth of American weapons that Taiwan needs to defend itself from Chinese invasion have not been delivered and could still be years away from arriving.

“Most contracts for defense equipment signed under both the Trump and Biden administrations have been stalled by bureaucratic delays and capacity limits at defense manufacturers, creating a $19 billion backlog of uncompleted orders” the report said. Airport Signs Spark Outrage as U.S. Travelers Question Why Migrants Don’t Require ID

While US citizens are required to show valid identification to board domestic flights, the signs indicate different rules for migrants who have entered the country using the CBP One app.

The signs claim that the Transport Security Administration (TSA) is collaborating with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to “validate adult non-US citizen travel documentation when the traveler does not otherwise have an acceptable form of identification.” This allows migrants, approximately 45,000 people per month, to use the CBP One app as their travel document, granting them the option to decide whether officers can take their picture.

Retired CBP Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem expressed concern about the optics of this practice, stating, “I’m an American citizen, and I’m quite offended that these migrants that have come in here are getting preferential treatment and being prioritized in so many ways.”

Critics argue that while those entering the country via the CBP One app provide biometric information such as fingerprints during border interviews, there are concerns about the limited information authorities have about individuals at that point. Clem questions the reliability of the information provided by individuals who arrived at the border with no passport or ID card, emphasizing the potential risks associated with verifying identities solely based on what individuals claim.

The controversy raises broader questions about security and verification procedures at the border, especially as authorities grapple with the challenge of processing large numbers of migrants. Critics argue that preferential treatment for certain travelers may undermine the integrity of identification processes and create potential risks, particularly if illegal aliens arrive with minimal documentation.

Disturbing Incident: Flight Attendant Accused of Filming Minors in Plane Restrooms (VIDEO)

A shocking incident involving an American Airlines flight attendant has come to light, as 37-year-old Estes Carter Thompson III is accused of recording five minor girls in plane restrooms between January and September of 2023. The allegations surfaced after a 14-year-old girl discovered an iPhone taped to a toilet seat lid during a flight from Boston to Charlotte.

The victim reported the incident, leading to an investigation into Thompson’s actions. The minor girl claimed that Thompson, who no longer works for the airline, directed her to use the first-class restroom. However, before she could enter, he allegedly went inside the restroom for a brief period, purportedly to wash his hands. The victim discovered the iPhone with stickers indicating “INOPERATIVE CATERING EQUIPMENT,” “REMOVE FROM SERVICE,” and “SEAT BROKEN” beneath the toilet seat. She took pictures of the device and reported the incident to her parents and other crew members.

Upon landing in Boston, police confronted Thompson, whose phone had been reset to factory settings. However, stickers similar to those found in the restroom were reportedly discovered in his suitcase. Further investigation revealed disturbing content in Thompson’s iCloud account, including recordings of victims aged 7, 9, 11, and 14, along with photos of an unaccompanied minor. Additionally, hundreds of images of AI-generated child pornography were allegedly found on his iCloud account.

Thompson was arrested in Lynchburg, Virginia, facing charges of attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography. The family of the 14-year-old victim has filed a lawsuit, raising questions about the airline’s responsibility in preventing such incidents. The family’s attorney, Paul Llewellyn, expressed concern about the possibility of a serial offender operating within American Airlines for months.

The driver who struck a policeman at a Manhattan crime scene told authorities it was intentional, adding, “F–k these cops, it’s a lesson to him,’’ sources said Friday — with the mow-down caught on shocking video.

Sahara Dula — a 24-year-old Brooklynite whose lawyer said mentors kids to stay off drugs — was driving her black Lexus the wrong way on the Upper East Side while high on marijuana Wednesday when she barreled into the NYPD officer, officials and sources said.

“I told the cop I wanted to go straight, and he wouldn’t move, so I hit him. I did it on purpose,’’ Dula later told investigators, according to court papers.

“F–k these cops! He wouldn’t move!’’ she screamed a few minutes after the incident, the documents claim —with a source saying Dula added, “F–k these cops, it’s a lesson to him, and hopefully he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore.”

Footage posted on X late Thursday shows Dula, a college criminal justice graduate and former doorman, driving her vehicle the wrong way on Park Avenue near East 71st Street around 4:30 p.m.

Poll: Trump Leads Haley by 39 Points in South Carolina

Former President Donald Trump is leading former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley by double-digits, a poll conducted by Tony Fabrizio found.

The Trump pollster found Trump leading Haley in the Palmetto State with a majority backing him — 64 percent support in the state. Haley falls 39 points behind in her own state, garnering just 25 percent support. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis falls to the single digits with just eight percent support.

Further, the survey shows the strength of Trump’s base, as most of the former president’s supporters, 58 percent, said they will “definitely” vote for him, compared to 18 percent of Haley voters who said they would “definitely” vote for her.

Additionally, the survey showed that Trump would benefit more than Haley if DeSantis dropped out of the race, as more of the Florida governor’s supporters would flock to Trump. Head-to-head, Trump leads Haley by 40 points:

Cult Leader Charged With Terrorism After Hundreds of Followers Starved Themselves to Death

Paul Nthenge Mackenzie, leader of the Good News International Church, and 94 of his associates were charged in Kenyan court on Thursday with terrorism-related crimes over the starvation deaths of 429 of his followers.

Mackenzie was accused of ordering his followers to starve themselves so they could enter Heaven before the destruction of the world. Mackenzie was arrested in April 2023 after the police were tipped off to the starvation cult by a human rights group called Haki Africa.

Many members of the Good News International Church were so determined to carry out Mackenzie’s order of suicide by starvation that they went into hiding in the Shakahola Forest of eastern Kenya, hiding from the police and military search teams. Some of the cultists taken into custody had to be physically forced to eat.

Mackenzie was arrested twice before the starvation horror was discovered, including for an incident in March 2023 in which two children’s parents murdered them through suffocation and starvation on Mackenzie’s orders.

Mackenzie told the authorities he was no longer the leader of a church and merely owned some farmland in Shakahola, but his half-starved followers kept turning up, along with dozens of corpses packed into shallow graves.
