U.S. Strike Takes Out Senior Member of Iran-Backed Kata’Ib Hezbollah in Baghdad

The United States carried out a drone strike in Baghdad on Wednesday night that killed at least one senior member of Kata’ib Hezbollah, U.S. Central Command confirmed.

Taking place around 9:30 p.m. local time, CENTCOM said the “unilateral strike” was a “response to the attacks on U.S. service members” of which there have been more than 160 since mid-October. The strike killed “a Kata’ib Hezbollah commander responsible for directly planning and participating in attacks on U.S. forces in the region,” CENTCOM reported.

The alarming numbers have prompted former Obama administration officials and campaign staffers to publicly criticize the 2024 Biden campaign for keeping Biden hidden away and off of the trail.

“The president and his campaign need to get into gear and they need a message. And they need a message that takes in not just democracy but the day-to-day concerns that people have,” former Obama senior advisor David Axelrod told CNN last month. “It’s going to be Biden versus Trump. Lawsuit Expands With New Allegations Against Boeing, Alaska Airlines

An attorney representing a group of passengers on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 that suffered a depressurization after a door plug panel blew off a Boeing 737 Max 9 midflight has expanded the lawsuit with new allegations about the incident.

Mark Lindquist, an attorney representing 22 passengers who were on Flight 1282 when the emergency occurred in a lawsuit against Alaska Airlines and Boeing, said the newly amended lawsuit includes a new allegation that passengers on a prior flight of the aircraft heard a whistling sound.

The updated lawsuit says “there was a whistling sound coming from the vicinity of the door plug on a previous flight of the subject plane. Passengers apparently noticed the whistling sound and brought it to the attention of flight attendants who reportedly informed the pilot or first officer.”

It alleges that no known further action was taken “After the pilot checked cockpit instruments, which purportedly read normal.”

The expanded lawsuit also cites the preliminary report released by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on Tuesday, which found the cockpit door was designed to blow out in a depressurization situation and that pilots and crew weren’t informed of this design feature. Helicopter With 5 U.S. Marines Found After Going Missing; Search for Crew Ongoing

Search and rescue officials have located a U.S. Military helicopter that went missing on Tuesday while carrying five Marines during a routine training exercise in southern California.

“The U.S. Marine Corps is searching for five U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing,” the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing said in a statement. “The Marines were flying a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter during a routine training flight from Creech Air Force Base to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on Feb. 6. 2024, when the aircraft was reported overdue.”

The Marines said that the helicopter was found Wednesday morning by civil authorities in Pine Valley, California.

“The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing is managing search and rescue efforts through the Wing Operations Command Center and using ground and aviation assets to locate the aircrew in coordination with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and multiple federal, state and local agencies,” the statement added.

Fani Willis Tries to Dodge Testifying About Her Alleged Misconduct in Trump Trial

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Wednesday sought to quash subpoenas that would force her and members of her staff to testify as part of a hearing to find out whether she engaged in misconduct and should be barred from prosecuting former President Donald Trump‘s election interference case.

Willis wrote in a nine-page motion that “each of these subpoenas appear transparently to be an attempt to conduct discovery in a (rather belated) effort to support reckless accusations made in prior court filings,” adding that they should be “quashed.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump reiterated his calls for Willis to be barred from prosecuting the sweeping racketeering case levied against him and 18 other defendants. Trump’s co-defendant and former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark became the sixth defendant to file a motion seeking to disqualify Willis, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The flow of calls for Willis to recuse from the case is due in part to co-defendant Mike Roman’s mid-January motion, in which he accused Willis of engaging in a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the attorney she appointed to serve as special prosecutor to oversee the case.

Roman also alleged Wade was not qualified for the job and that by paying for vacation expenses, uncovered in credit card statements from the special prosecutor’s divorce case, he and Willis benefited financially from the case. Study on Dangers of Abortion Pill Retracted Ahead of Supreme Court Hearing

A major academic publisher has retracted three articles by a leading pro-life research group, including a study raising medical concerns about the abortion pill ahead of a Supreme Court hearing on the drug’s federal approval.

Sage Journals removed three articles published in 2019, 2021 and 2022 by the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, citing concerns about conflicts of interest and “lack of scientific rigor,” which prompted the institute to accuse Sage of an “unprovoked and partisan assault” on its research.

The studies were pulled Monday, a week after the Supreme Court scheduled oral arguments for March 26 in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA, a case challenging the Food and Drug Administration’s 2000 approval of mifepristone for pregnancy termination.

In April, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk placed a temporary hold on the approval, citing the institute’s 2021 study of Medicaid claims data, which found the rate of abortion-related emergency-room visits by women who had taken the abortion pill within the previous 30 days jumped by 500% from 2002 to 2015.

“Sage is targeting us because we have been successful in calling attention to some of the dangers that are associated with abortion, and specifically chemical abortion,” said James Studnicki, Lozier vice president for data analytics and the lead author on all three studies. Biden Plans Alaska National Guard Deployment to Texas Border, but Not to Support Governor Abbott

President Joe Biden has initiated plans to deploy Alaska National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, a decision that appears to align with his administration’s approach to border control. The move has sparked concerns, particularly in Texas, where Governor Gregg Abbott has been actively securing the border using methods that include the installation of concertina wire atop shipping containers, colloquially referred to as “Operation Lone Star,” in a desperate attempt to stop the influx of illegal aliens into the state.

The decision to deploy National Guard troops takes a notable turn, as it seems geared towards supporting the federal government’s border control efforts, rather than fortifying the state-level security measures undertaken by Texas. President Biden’s move to nationalize a National Guard contingent is seen by many as a response to the left-leaning faction within his base, advocating for a more lenient approach to immigration and border policies. Biden evidently aims to allow more criminals and drugs through the southern border, further proving his ongoing attempts to destroy the country.

The U.S. Supreme Court had ruled in January that the federal government could dismantle Governor Abbott’s razor wire while the legal battle over Texas’s rights to defend against a potential invasion unfolds.

The National Guard deployment plan, set for 2025, has raised suspicions, since Biden’s plan is set to take effect post-election. The Alaska National Guard has been directed to prepare helicopters and personnel for potential deployment in early 2025, providing aviation support to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Alaskan Governor Mike Dunleavy, a supporter of Abbott’s border security efforts, was reportedly excluded from the decision-making process.

Recently, Governor Abbott emphasized that the new Ukraine funding bill, masquerading as a border bill, compromises the states’ rights to challenge the federal government within their own jurisdictions further adds to the complexity of the situation.

Trump Scores Endorsement From International Union of Police Associations

The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) endorsed former President Donald Trump in his White House bid on Tuesday, as polling shows crime is a top issue to the American electorate.

In a press release, IUPA President Sam Cabral announced that the organization’s executive board of directors unanimously endorsed Trump.

“President Trump’s history of support for the men and women of Law Enforcement is unmatched. His policies and actions were directed at improving safety in our communities and the men and women who provide that shield,” the release stated, adding that the 45th president “earned and deserves” the IUPA’s “wholehearted support.”

The organization, first chartered in 1979, went on to call out aspects of Democrats’ “doctrine” that have had “tragic” impacts on communities:

Much of the Democrat’s doctrine supports defunding the police; favors sanctuary cities, open borders, and reduced accountability for criminal behavior. The tragic result is apparent in those cities who have embraced these policies — the unfortunate forced businesses closures and plight that followed. Roving gangs are terrorizing retail businesses, raiding them with absolute impunity, akin to a thousand year past — regressive rather than their own progressive ideology. They have not dealt with the consequences of their own failed strategies, while we have all suffered.
