Angry Maui Residents Slam Biden, Hold ‘No Comment’ Signs During President’s Fire Tour

C Monday as he arrived in Maui to tour wildfire damage after repeatedly declining to comment last week on the tragedy that killed at least 114 people.

A group of several dozen residents of scorched western Maui heckled Biden’s motorcade shortly after noon local time as it left tiny Kapalua Airport en route to the hardest hit areas of historic Lahaina, which was destroyed on Aug. 8.

“Go home Joe!” the locals chanted as Biden passed by — moments before the president read a scripted speech touting the federal response, despite criticism from residents who say not enough help has been offered.

The 80-year-old commander in chief has taken intense criticism, including from fellow Democrats, for appearing aloof following the deadliest US wildfires in more than a century.

As he drove toward downtown Lahaina, Biden passed signs that said “NO COMMENT,” “ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS” and “FJB,” as well as at least two flags promoting the 2024 candidacy of former President Donald Trump. COVID Mandates Return to Hollywood: Companies Requiring Employees to Mask Up, Submit to Daily Testing

COVID mask mandates are returning to Hollywood, with Lionsgate being the first major studio to reinstate masking and daily testing for its Los Angeles office workers.

Lionsgate is requiring employees who physically work at its headquarters in Santa Monica to wear masks at all times when in the building, effective immediately, except when alone in an enclosed office or large open workspace. In addition, employees are required to submit to daily COVID testing and to report the results to the company, according to an internal memo obtained by Deadline.

Employees must wear “a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace,” the memo reportedly states. Multiple Trump Surrogates Deployed to Upcoming GOP Primary Debate

Multiple Trump surrogates plan to attend the Republican primary debate Wednesday, following former President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will skip the event due to a significant polling advantage.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Byron Donalds (R-FL), and former gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake will attend the debate, NBC News reported. The conservative heavyweights will be joined by Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle will attend to conduct media interviews for the Trump team. They will also promote the former president on their Rumble shows. . .

US Citizens in Belarus Told to ‘Depart Immediately’

The U.S. Embassy in Belarus issued an alert Monday for all American citizens in the country to leave immediately and warned against traveling there.

The warning comes after Lithuania closed two of its major border crossings with Belarus over concerns about the Russian mercenary group Wagner that has established operations in the country. . .

The U.S. State Department has advised Americans not to travel to Belarus due to Minsk’s support of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the buildup of Russian military forces in Belarus, the “arbitrary” enforcement of local laws, potential civil unrest, the risk of detention.

“U.S. citizens in Belarus should depart immediately,” the State Department advised. “Consider departing via the remaining border crossings with Lithuania and Latvia, or by plane.”

Trump Plans to Skip GOP Debate for Interview With Tucker Carlson

Former President Donald J. Trump plans to upstage the first Republican primary debate on Wednesday by sitting for an online interview with the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.

In the past 24 hours, Mr. Trump has told people close to him that he has made up his mind and will skip the debate in Milwaukee, according to two of the people briefed on the matter.

Mr. Trump is notoriously mercurial, and left himself something of an out to change his mind with an ambiguous post on his website, Truth Social, on Thursday. He wrote that he’s polling well ahead of his rivals and added, “Reagan didn’t do it, and neither did others. People know my Record, one of the BEST EVER, so why would I Debate?”

For weeks, the former president has been quizzing aides, associates and rally crowds about what he should do. Until earlier this week, Mr. Trump had been giving people the impression he was considering a last-minute surprise appearance on Wednesday. GOP Senator’s Hold on Pentagon Nominees Is Keeping Out Left-Wing ‘Diversity’ Advocates

A number of the Pentagon’s military nominees currently blocked by Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville are full-throated advocates for “diversity” initiatives and other parts of the Biden administration’s agenda to reform the military, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of reports and Pentagon materials.

Tuberville has successfully stonewalled over 300 military nominations in the Senate since February in protest of the Pentagon’s policy that funds female service members’ out-of-state travel to seek an abortion. Many of these high-level nominees have vocally supported the Biden administration’s left-wing agenda, such as supporting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

For example, Air Force Col. Benjamin R. Jonsson, who was selected for the Brigadier General position in January, wrote an op-ed to “white colonels” in 2020 after the death of George Floyd and called on them to address “racial disparity” within Air Force ranks.

“In a meeting with other white colonels, I drew attention to the reality that racial tension remains an important issue to address,” Jonsson wrote. “As white colonels, you and I are the biggest barriers to change if we do not personally address racial injustice in our Air Force. Defensiveness is a predictable response by white people to any discussion of racial injustice.”

Hawaii Governor: 1,000+ People Still Unaccounted For After Devastating Maui Fire (VIDEO)

Hawaii Governor Josh Green said during an interview over the weekend that more than 1,000 people are still unaccounted for following the devastating Maui fire that struck the small town of Lahaina earlier this month.

The fire from a couple of weeks ago has already been designated as the deadliest fire in the U.S. in over a century with well over 100 lives confirmed lost and it has triggered intense criticism of President Joe Biden over his lack of response to the tragedy.

Margaret Brennan, host of CBS News’ “Face The Nation,” asked Green on Sunday, “how many are still unaccounted for, and how long will it take to identify remains?”

“More than 1,000 are unaccounted for, about 1,050. It will take several weeks still,” Green said. “Some of the challenges are going to be extraordinary. As you reported, 85 percent of the — of the land of the impact zone has been covered now by what amounts to an army of search and rescue teams and 41 dogs. So, 85 percent of the land has been covered.”

Ohio Right to Life Fires Communications Director After Viral ‘Faith in Christ Alone’ Post

An Ohio pro-life group has dismissed its communications director after a Jewish Republican Congressman whose wife sits on the organization’s board criticized her for tweeting that “there is no hope for any of us outside of having faith in Jesus Christ alone.”

Elizabeth Marbach, the now former communications director of Ohio Right to Life, became the center of national media attention this week after Rep. Max Miller criticized her Tuesday post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Miller, who is Jewish, called the tweet “one of the most bigoted” tweets he had ever seen even though Miller’s sentiment is a mainstream belief of Christianity. Miller’s wife, Emily Moreno Miller, serves as a board member of Ohio Right to Life, a state-level group that educates the public about abortion and advocates for pro-life legislation.

Marbach told The Sentinel in a Thursday statement that she was let go from her position with Ohio Right to Life. Internal communications reviewed by the newspaper suggest that Marbach was given the opportunity to resign or enter a transitional period before dismissal but she declined. . .

“Ohio Right to Life can confirm that Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Marbach is no longer employed at Ohio Right to Life,” Ohio Right to Life CEO Peter Range wrote in a statement. “This decision was not based on any single event as some on social media claim. Biden Admin Crackdown on Legal Gun Dealers Leads to 350% Rise in License Loss

Gun dealers are crying foul as the Biden administration pursues an apparent crackdown on legal firearms sellers, whose licenses have been revoked at an unprecedented rate over the last two years.

“This policy is designed to be a backdoor violation of the Second Amendment,” Anthony Navarro, a Greeley, Colorado, dealer who lost his license last year, told the Wall Street Journal.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has taken away the licenses of 122 gun dealers since October — up from just 27 revocations in all of fiscal year 2021, a 350% increase in the first nine months of this fiscal year alone.

Dealers complain that many of the violations leading to the loss of their businesses amount to little more than paperwork errors.

‘An Animal of Unacceptable Intelligence’: Alien Marine Life Plagues Country’s Seas, Jeopardizes Key Produce

A voracious marine species alien to Italy has invaded the country’s waters, preying on a vast range of marine life including clams, Italy’s prized sea produce, according to a video published by the Associated Press (AP).

The blue crabs displayed their characteristic sea-blue pincers and tenacious grip as fishermen hauled them up, the AP video showed. The invasive crab species can be seen swiftly and easily prying clams open and devouring anything they can find. This disruption causes significant damage to the Italian marine ecosystem and fishing industry, according to the report in the footage.

Fishermen working in Tuscany’s Orbetello Lagoon leave their nets in the water overnight, expecting to catch sea bream, sea bass and eels; however, by morning they find they have caught thousands of blue crabs, per the video.

“He is aggressive, he is fast, he is an animal of unacceptable intelligence. We fight this blue crab, but he is stronger than us, there are so many of them,” said Mario Giudici, a concerned Italian fisherman, to AP.
