Biden Plays Wait and See With Putin Over Ukraine Intentions After Video Summit

. . .Following a high-stakes virtual summit between President Biden and his Russian counterpart Tuesday, the White House appeared to be taking a “wait-and-see” approach to a potential invasion of Ukraine by Moscow.

“We will watch what unfolds in the coming days,” national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters as he and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki repeatedly answered that what happens next depends on what Russian President Vladimir Putin does.

Biden and Putin spoke for two hours and one minute Tuesday morning, and Sullivan acknowledged in the afternoon that “we still do not believe that President Putin has made a decision” about whether to send his massed forces across the border and into Ukraine.

“This was a real discussion. It was give-and-take,” Sullivan said in describing the call. “It was not speeches back and forth.”

Country Prompts Nationwide Parent Outrage With Child Vaccination Mandate

Parents in South Korea have expressed “anger” in recent days against a looming federal mandate that will require children aged 12 to 17 years to provide proof of vaccination against the Chinese coronavirus to enter public spaces “frequented by students, including cram schools, internet cafes, and public study rooms” starting in February, Yonhap reported Monday.

South Korea’s federal government announced on December 3 it would expand an existing coronavirus “vaccine pass” system to include anyone above the age of 12, beginning in February. The edict requires school-age children and teenagers “to present a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 [Chinese coronavirus] or a negative test result to be allowed into restaurants, cafes and other multi-use facilities frequented by students,” according to Yonhap.

The South Korean news agency noted on December 6 that many students and parents have “voiced fury” at the impending vaccine requirement since it was revealed on December 3. Those opposed to the order have denounced it via multiple online petitions as “discrimination against those not vaccinated” and “effective coercion for adolescents to get vaccinated.”

One online petition against the vaccine mandate “was filed on the website of Cheong Wa Dae,” or the office of the South Korean presidency, on Friday, according to Yonhap. The entreaty, led by a woman who identified herself as a mother of four children, garnered 74,000 endorsements within 72 hours of its posting. COVID Authoritarianism Skyrockets as Media Drums up Omicron Panic

COVID-19 authoritarianism is skyrocketing around the world as the corporate media drums up panic about the Omicron variant of the virus.

In Greece, individuals 60 years old and over will be required to get the COVID-19 jab by Jan. 16, 2022, or risk a 100 euro fine. . .

The mandate comes shortly after the nation banned anyone who did not receive the shot from public “indoor spaces” regardless of whether they test negative.

In other areas of Europe such as Northern Ireland, members of the Alliance party called for political censorship against groups advocating against vaccine passports. Councilor Danny Donnelly and Member of the Legislative Assembly Stewart Dickson complained that the organization Big Brother Watch and other groups protesting a looming legislative vote on vaccine passes are “putting lives at risk,” and demanded the digital advertisements featuring the group’s message be turned off “ASAP.”

White House Announces Diplomatic Boycott of Beijing Olympics

The White House has announced a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Beijing Olympics, saying the U.S. will not send any government officials to the Chinese capital for the Winter Games.

“The Biden administration will not send any diplomatic or official representation to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic games given [China’s] ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang and other human rights abuses,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Monday.

“The athletes on team USA have our full support, we will be behind them 100 percent as we cheer them on from home. We will not be contributing to the fan fare of the games. U.S. diplomatic or official representation would treat these games as business as usual in the face of the PRC’s egregious human rights abuses and atrocities in Xinjiang and we simply can’t do that.”

Biden Talks About ‘Third Temple’ in Jerusalem

During the fourth night of Hanukkah and the annual menorah-lighting ceremony, Joe Biden talked about the destruction of the Second Temple, which he compared it to the “temple of our democracy.” . . .

But later in the talk, he expressed optimism the Third Temple would be rebuilt.

“Whether it’s in the Temple of Jerusalem or a temple of our democracy, nothing broken or profaned is beyond repair … nothing,” he said. “We can always build back better. Or, perhaps, build back brighter.”

It was odd. Was he comparing the torching of the Temple and the massacring of the Jews to the Jan. 6 “insurrection” against the Capitol Building? . . .

YouTube Caught Meddling in French Election

YouTube slapped an age restriction notice on French presidential candidate Éric Zemmour’s campaign announcement video.

“You must now present your identity papers to have the right to watch the video of my declaration of candidacy. The thought police are no longer even hiding: they are showing off their tyrannical nature. The real fight begins,” a Google translation of Zemmour’s tweet in reaction to the censorship reads.

The video, which was posted on Tuesday and has accumulated more than 2.5 million views, features the French journalist explaining why he chose to run for president overlayed with clips from the news and clips showing the European country.

“For decades, the left and the right have led us to this deadly path of decline and decadence,” a translation of Zemmour’s speech in French reads. “Left and right, they have lied to you. They have hidden the gravity of our decline. They have hidden the reality of our replacement. You have known me for years. You know my opinions, my analyses, my predictions.” . . .

This European Country Is Medically Segregating the Unvaccinated From Public Life

Germany enacted restrictions on Thursday prohibiting citizens who haven’t received a COVID-19 vaccine from entering most public venues and businesses.

According to Reuters, the decision to implement medical segregation came after “[O]utgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel and her successor Olaf Scholz agreed with leaders of Germany’s 16 states to bar the unvaccinated from access to all but the most essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies and bakeries.” Only individuals who are vaccinated or have recovered from the virus will be allowed access to restaurants, theaters, and other so-called nonessential stores.

Additional restrictions set to take effect include “shutting nightclubs in places with high infection rates,” “strict limits on the number of spectators at large public events such as soccer games,” and “a nationwide ban on gatherings and fireworks at New Year.”

Iran Declares: ‘We Will Not Back Off From the Annihilation of Israel’

With the Biden administration set to restart a new round of nuclear talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the spokesperson for Iran’s military stated over the weekend that they will not give up their pursuit of wiping Israel off the face of the earth.

“We will not back off from the annihilation of Israel, even one millimeter,” Brig.-Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces, told the Iranian Students News Agency. “We want to destroy Zionism in the world.”

The Jerusalem Post added:

The Iranian general also blasted Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates for normalizing diplomatic relations with Israel, terming the diplomacy “intolerable” for Iran’s clerical regime. “Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and other countries considered as Muslims, for us they part of the Zionist regime and this is very important,” said Shekarchi.

Russia War Fears Erupt as Putin Brutally Rejects Final Meeting With Outgoing Merkel

The Russian President rejected a meeting with Mrs Merkel after she requested an audience with him to discuss the escalating Russian military presence on the border with Ukraine. She called for a strong EU response in the wake of the rejection, saying that she “very much regretted” Putin’s decision to snub the talks.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Poland in Berlin, she said: “I very much regretted that the Russian president is not prepared — nor is the Russian foreign minister — to hold another high-level political meeting in the Normandy format at the end of my term.”

She also floated new sanctions against Russia “if we see no progress at all”, as she warned that Moscow was not signalling interest in resolving the conflict.

At the same press conference, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki claimed that Putin’s ultimate goal was to divide the EU and NATO, referring to Russia’s alleged role in the migrant crisis at the Poland/Belarus border.
