Senate Russia Investigation Expands to Include Jill Stein

Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is being investigated for possible collusion with Russia, The Washington Post reported.

Stein attended a 2015 dinner in Moscow, which former national security adviser Michael Flynn — who pleaded guilty earlier this month making false statements to the FBI regarding his interactions with Russian officials — also attended.

A picture from the event shows Russian President Vladimir Putin sitting next to Flynn and across the table from Stein.

The dinner was sponsored by Russian television network RT and Stein said in a statement that she “made the trip with the goal of reaching an international audience and Russian officials with a message of Middle East peace, diplomacy and cooperation against the urgent threat of climate change, consistent with long-standing Green principles and policies.”

“Our communications with Russian individuals regarding an invitation to speak on international relations at the RT 10th anniversary media conference will confirm what we stated publicly at the time and since: that we did not accept any payment or even reimbursement for the trip,” Stein explained, according to CBS News.

The investigation into the former Green Party candidate indicates that the Senate intelligence probe will more than likely continue well into 2018, despite Democrat claims that Republicans are pushing to finish the investigation by the end of the year.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has “two other campaigns that we’re starting on,” Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina told reporters. One of those campaigns is Stein’s.

In September, Politico reported that Stein was the beneficiary of at least one of the political ads Russia bought to influence the 2016 election.

“Choose peace and vote for Jill Stein. Trust me. It’s not a wasted vote. … The only way to take our country back is to stop voting for the corporations and banks that own us. #GrowaSpineVoteJillStein,” the ad read.

In her book “What Happened,” Hillary Clinton said the votes for Stein “may well have thrown the election to Trump.” Clinton specifically pointed out that Flynn, Stein and Putin had attended the same dinner in 2015.

Former Clinton campaign spokesman Jesse Ferguson echoed Clinton’s sentiments.

“Russian operatives were not promoting Jill Stein because they thought she could win,” Ferguson said. “They were promoting her because they thought it would hurt Hillary Clinton and help Donald Trump.”

Stein said she would cooperate with the committee, but warned against the investigation being used to “intimidate and silence principled opposition to the political establishment,” according to The New York Times.

“We strongly support legitimate inquiry into any illegal activity in our elections — including quid pro quo deals, money laundering, corruption and violence of campaign finance laws,” Stein said.

“At the same time, we caution against the politicization, sensationalism and collapse of journalistic standards that has plagued media coverage of the investigation.” (For more from the author of “Senate Russia Investigation Expands to Include Jill Stein” please click HERE)

US Marines Protect the Winter Olympics in South Korea From Kim Jong-Un

Hundreds of South Korean and US Marines braved subfreezing temperatures as they took part in winter training exercises on Tuesday.

Photos show shirtless soldiers wrestling, doing press-ups and snow sport exercises in the eastern mountainous region of Pyeongchang, South Korea, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul.

More than 220 South Korean Marines and 220 US Marines took part in the drill, which comes less than two months before the Winter Olympic Games set to be held there in February.

The training exercises began on December 4 at the Mount Hwangbyeong training camp as part of the Korea Marine Exercise Program, Yonhap News agency reported . . .

A spokesman for the US marine unit, the III US Marine Expeditionary Force, told the news agency: ‘This exercise has been held with a focus on enhancing the combined combat capabilities of the South Korean and US Marine Corps in winter war conditions under which temperatures drop to about minus 20C.’ (Read more from “US Marines Protect the Winter Olympics in South Korea From Kim Jong-Un” HERE)

Christian Carol Singers Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Convert People to Christianity

A priest’s car was also set alight by suspected Hindu extremists in a shocking attack in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India where Christians make up just 0.3 per cent of the population.

The group of carol singers, which was comprised of around 30 Catholic priests and parishioners, was performing in the city of Satna when they were attacked by the right-wing Bajrang Dal group.

A Hindu villager alleged he was told to “worship Jesus Christ” and offered money to convert to Christianity.

The incident initially led to the arrests of a group of seminary students and two priests, before a further eight priests were later arrested after coming to the aid of the detainees.

The police released the Christians around 2am on 16 December, but asked the ten priests and three students to report to the station at 7am that same morning. (Read more from “Christian Carol Singers Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Convert People to Christianity” HERE)

Real Reason Christians Are Constantly Persecuted

Today, sincere followers of Jesus Christ are under attack everywhere, not only in lands dominated by religions and governments hostile to Christianity, but increasingly in those parts of the world historically home to, and founded by, Christians.

Think of it. The most transcendent way of life a man or woman can embrace on this earth – one that commands not only that you love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself, but that you “love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you” – is cursed, hated and persecuted.

This persecution shows up in a broad spectrum of ways. In the United States it is, as a rule, far less overt and brutal than overseas, taking the form of censorship, demonization and criminalization – for example, the never-ending prosecutions of Christian businesses and individuals (including the jailing of a Christian county clerk) for being unwilling to actively participate in homosexual weddings. Then there are the ubiquitous assaults on Christian expression in the public square and within our public schools and armed forces, and the ongoing destruction of Christian memorials, crosses, nativity scenes and the like, and even the recent equating of Christianity with white supremacism and the open mockery of prayer. In September, several Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, questioned the confirmation of a highly qualified judicial nominee because of her mainstream Catholic faith . . .

By every measure, Christian persecution – and even more fundamentally, fear and loathing of biblical Christianity – is growing worldwide, even in the once-Christian West, including Europe, the United Kingdom and North America.

The most recent manifestation within the U.S. has been the appalling church shooting massacres, including September’s church shooting in Tennessee and November’s mass-murder in rural Texas when a militant atheist, calling believers “stupid,” slaughtered 26 churchgoers and injured dozens more. Obama Allowed Hezbollah to Smuggle Drugs Into the US to Protect the Iran Nuke Deal

A bombshell report from Politico Sunday revealed that the Obama administration let Hezbollah’s money-laundering and drug-trafficking operations slide in order to protect the Iran nuclear deal from collapsing.

The Drug Enforcement Administration led a campaign dubbed Project Cassandra that reportedly targeted the criminal activities of the militant group.

However, Justice and Treasury Department officials reportedly delayed or outright rejected the DEA’s requests for investigations, sanctions and prosecutions against members of Hezbollah.

According to Josh Meyer of Politico, these players included: “Hezbollah’s high-profile envoy to Iran, a Lebanese bank that allegedly laundered billions in alleged drug profits, and a central player in a U.S.-based cell of the Iranian paramilitary Quds force.”

In December 2011, U.S. attorney Preet Bharara filed a civil money laundering lawsuit against “Lebanese Financial Institutions That Facilitated a Hizballah-Related Money Laundering Scheme.”

The lawsuit claimed that “Lebanese Financial Institutions, Including Institutions Linked to Hizballah, Allegedly Wired Over $300 Million into the United States for the Purchase and Shipment of Used Cars to West Africa as Part of Money Laundering Scheme.”

The suit added that “Proceeds from Car Sales and Narcotics Trafficking Allegedly Were Funneled Back to Lebanon Through Hizballah-Controlled Money Laundering Channels.”

While Bharara originally sought over $480 million in the suit, it was eventually settled in 2013 for $102 million.

Another example of the Obama administration hindering DEA progress against Hezbollah was its decision to refrain from pressuring the Czech government from extraditing Lebanese arms dealer Ali Fayad back to the U.S. amid U.S. courts indicting him on charges involving attempts to acquire anti-aircraft missiles, attempts to provide material support to a terror cell and plans to kill U.S. government employees.

As reported by Politico, U.S. officials believe Fayad is now helping to weaponize Syrian militants.

Perhaps most surprisingly, members of Project Cassandra claim that officials in the Obama administration undermined the DEA’s efforts to take down of one of Hezbollah’s top operatives, a man named “Ghost,” — one of the world’s largest cocaine smugglers, including to the U.S.

Four former DEA officials with direct access to these cases say that the Justice Department also refused to investigate Abdallah Saffiedine, overseer of the Hezbollah’s “Business Affairs Component,” which involved international drug trafficking.

According to Defense of Department illicit finance analyst David Asher, these blockades set forth by the Obama administration, as well as other instances such as the DOJ’s refusal to charge the militant group’s military wing as an ongoing criminal syndicate, “was a policy decision, it was a systematic decision.”

“They serially ripped apart this entire effort that was very well supported and resourced, and it was done from the top down,” he added, referring to the Obama administration’s actions in handling the DEA’s requests for investigating Hezbollah.

In February, a Treasury official from the Obama-era, Katherine Bauer, stated in a written testimony, “under the Obama administration … these (Hezbollah-related) investigations were tamped down for fear of rocking the boat with Iran and jeopardizing the nuclear deal.”

However, former administration officials have countered these claims, stating that the decisions made during Obama’s tenure were not done out of politics.

“There has been a consistent pattern of actions taken against Hezbollah, both through tough sanctions and law enforcement actions before and after the Iran deal,” said Kevin Lewis, an official who worked at the Justice Department and White House during the Obama administration.

Fox News detailed that after announcement of the deal in January 2016, Project Cassandra members were given other assignments unrelated to the Hezbollah investigation.

The Lebanese militant group is one of the world’s largest cocaine traffickers and supplies chemical and conventional weapons to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad — weapons the dictator has reportedly used on his own people.

As reported by Fox News, Hezbollah was formed in 1982 by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in order to combat Israel’s invasion of Beirut. Under direction of a new leader in 1992, the group’s motive shifted from trying to implement an Islamic republic in Lebanon to fighting against Israel. Trump Transition Lawyer: Mueller Improperly Obtained Documents in Russia Probe

A lawyer for the Trump presidential transition team is accusing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office of inappropriately obtaining transition documents as part of its Russia probe, including confidential attorney-client communications, privileged communications and thousands of emails without their knowledge.

In a letter obtained by Fox News and sent to House and Senate committees on Saturday, the transition team’s attorney alleges “unlawful conduct” by the career staff at the General Services Administration (GSA) in handing over transition documents to the special counsel’s office.

Kory Langhofer, the counsel to Trump for America (TFA), argues the GSA “did not own or control the records in question” and the release of documents could be a violation of the Fourth Amendment – which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Langhofer wrote in Saturday’s letter that the GSA handed over “tens of thousands of emails” to Mueller’s probe without “any notice” to the transition.

The attorney said they discovered the “unauthorized disclosures” by the GSA on Dec. 12 and 13 and raised concerns with the special counsel’s office. The Associated Press reported that the GSA turned over a flash drive containing tens of thousands of records on Sept. 1 after receiving requests from Mueller’s office in late August. Putin Thanks Trump for CIA Tip on Bombings

Russia’s Vladimir Putin called President Trump Sunday to thank him for U.S. intelligence that helped thwart terrorist attacks in St. Petersburg, officials in both countries said. It was their second phone call in four days.

The Kremlin said the CIA provided Russia with key information about a plot to bomb Kazan Cathedral and other places in St. Petersburg, allowing Russian police to arrest a group of suspects in raids on Friday.

The Russian president expressed gratitude for the CIA cooperation and assured Trump that Russia would continue to provide the U.S. with similar information, the Kremlin said.

Trump told Putin that he was pleased that the intelligence saved so many lives, and later called CIA Director Mike Pompeo “to congratulate him, his very talented people, and the entire intelligence community on a job well done,” the White House said.

The White House summary of the call also emphasized agreement that the intelligence cooperation was “an example of the positive things that can occur when our countries work together.” (Read more from “Putin Thanks Trump for CIA Tip on Bombings” HERE)

Suicide Bombers Attack Christian Church

Two suicide bombers attacked a church in Pakistan where hundreds of worshippers were attending service ahead of Christmas, killing at least nine people and injuring dozens of others, officials said.

One of the suicide bombers was shot dead outside Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Quetta, but the other assailant made it to the church’s entrance hall as Sunday services opened, said Sarfaraz Bugti, home minister for the southwestern Baluchistan province. The gunman — who didn’t gain access to the main building — opened fire at the churchgoers before detonating his explosive vest.

“There were nearly 400 people inside the church, but the attackers couldn’t get inside the services,” provincial police chief Moazzam Jah told Reuters. “We killed one of them, and the other one exploded himself after police wounded him,” he said.

The Islamic State group later claimed responsibility for the attack on their Aamaq news agency, saying two “plungers” from their group had stormed the church, without providing further details.

The death toll in the deadly attack rose to nine people, including two women, by Sunday afternoon. Five women and two children were among the 57 people hurt. Seven people were listed in critical condition, said Wasim Baig, a spokesman for Quetta’s main hospital. (Read more from “Suicide Bombers Attack Christian Church” HERE)

Iran Seeks ‘New World Order’ on ‘Ruins’ of West

The prime objective of Iran’s mullah-led regime is to export its Islamic revolution worldwide to build a new Shiite “world order” on the “ruins” of Western civilization, declared a columnist for a daily paper affiliated with the country’s religious leadership, reports Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin..

“Iran will, in the future, become one of the poles of the world,” wrote Abdollah Motevalian in a recent column in the daily newspaper Javan.

The paper is “affiliated with the country’s ideological camp,” according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, which monitors and analyzes media in the region.

The writer cited a list of principles that provide the foundation for the Islamic revolution’s objectives.

“Identifying the enemy; believing in the need for fighting the enemy; a revolutionary discourse; a fighting strategy; persistence in fighting, with no hiatus; jihadi spirit; a plan for the fighting; tirelessness; making it a people’s war and leveraging all the human potential in the country.” (Read more from “Iran Seeks ‘New World Order’ on ‘Ruins’ of West” HERE)
