Victory In Iran Depends On More Than U.S. Military Dominance

Since the Iran war began nearly three weeks ago, President Trump has routinely (and accurately) boasted of America’s battlefield dominance. On an almost daily basis, he recounts how Iran’s navy, missile sites, and military infrastructure have been decimated or completely destroyed. He is, with good reason, supremely confident in American arms. This week, responding to NATO allies who refused to help keep the Strait of Hormuz open, the president declared that, “we don’t need too much help, and we don’t need any help, actually.”

And so far as it goes, Trump is right. The United States is dominating the battlefield in Iran without any help from NATO allies. On Tuesday, U.S. warplanes dropped multiple 5,000-pound deep penetrator munitions on Iranian coastal missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz, the first major action in its effort to secure the strait and clear the way for the thousands of commercial vessels now trapped in the Persian Gulf.

There is no question of American battlefield dominance thus far in the war. Yet the Trump administration now faces a different sort of challenge that cannot be quantified in missile strikes or sunk ships. The paradox of U.S. strategic power is that while no nation in human history has ever been able to wield so much military might, the American democratic system of government means the deployment of that power is contingent on public opinion.

In practice, that means America’s obvious superior military capability against Iran does not necessarily guarantee what military strategists call escalation dominance. The U.S. military has better weaponry than any other country, our Armed Forces are vastly superior in every way, and our industrial base dwarfs Iran’s. On the battlefield, the American military will certainly prevail.

But one of the lessons of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is that escalation dominance, at least for a democratic country like the U.S., depends in part on political will, which in turn depends on public opinion. If the American people turn hard enough against a conflict, the U.S. military can win every battle and America will still lose the war.

This is especially salient in a conflict like the one we have launched in Iran. The Trump administration has given multiple justifications for launching the war, which has contributed to a public atmosphere of confusion about American war aims. A recent Washington Post poll found that 65 percent of respondents don’t think President Trump and his team have clearly explained the goals of the war. As Byron York points out at The Washington Examiner, this is despite weeks of the administration saying what its goals are: Destroy Iran’s missiles and missile production, destroy its navy, destroy its ability to project power through regional proxies, and prevent it from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon. Iran Executes 19-year-old Champion Wrestler Saleh Mohammadi, Two Others in Horrific Public Hangings

Iran executed a 19-year-old champion wrestler in a public hanging Thursday along with two other people who were arrested during the brutal crackdown on anti-regime protesters in January.

Saleh Mohammadi, a rising star from Qom, was allegedly tortured to confess to the capital crime of waging war against God, with the teen executed without a fair trial, according to human rights groups.

“His execution was a blatant political murder, part of the Islamic Republic’s pattern of targeting athletes to crush dissent and terrorize society,” Nima Far, a human rights activist and Iranian combat athlete, told Fox News.

Mohammadi, along with fellow protesters Mehdi Ghasemi and Saeed Davoudi, were accused of killing two police officers “with knives and swords” during the January protests, according to Iranian state media.

Despite appeals from the US, the protesters were found guilty and executed by Tehran. (Read more from “Iran Executes 19-year-old Champion Wrestler Saleh Mohammadi, Two Others in Horrific Public Hangings” HERE)

Netanyahu Confirms ‘Israel Acted Alone’ in Attack on Iran’s South Pars Gas Field

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that “Israel acted alone” and that President Donald Trump had asked Israel “to hold off on future attacks” after Israel attacked Iran’s South Pars Gas Field.

During a press conference on Thursday, Netanyahu poked fun at online rumors that he was dead, stating that he was “alive.” Netanyahu also gave an update on Operation Roaring Lion, explaining that both Israel and the United States were “acting together in Iran with great determination.”

Netanyahu responded to a question from a reporter who stated that Trump “did not like the Israeli strike on the Iranian gas fields,” and asked if Trump “was aware of Israel striking that gas field.”

“Well, I’ll say two things. Fact number one, Israel acted alone,” Netanyahu answered, referring to the news that Israel had launched airstrikes on Iran’s South Pars Gas Field. “Fact number two, President Trump asked us to hold off on future attacks.”

Netanyahu’s comments came after Trump took to Truth Social to reveal that Israel had “violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran.”

Iranian Police Commander Pleads with Israeli Agent ‘Please Come Help us’ in Dramatic Leaked Call

A senior Iranian police commander recently told an agent of Israel’s renowned Mossad intelligence service “I swear on the Koran I’m not your enemy” and begged the Jewish state to “please come help us” overthrow the Islamic Republic, according to the contents of a leaked phone call.

The call, reported by the Wall Street Journal Wednesday, was one of several placed by Israeli intelligence threatening Iranian security officials and their families by name if they did not stand aside in the event of a popular uprising to overthrow the mullahs.

“We know everything about you. You are on our blacklist, and we have all the information about you,” the Mossad agent told the police commander in Farsi. “I called to warn you in advance that you should stand with your people’s side. And if you will not do that, your destiny will be as your leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei]. Do you hear me?”

“Brother, I swear on the Koran, I’m not your enemy,” the commander responded. “I’m a dead man already. Just please come help us.”

The US and Israel have sought to create the conditions for the Iranian people to take down the theocratic regime by systematically striking its military infrastructure and targeting top political leaders for assassination, respectively, since Feb. 28. Israel Claims to Have Eliminated Iran’s De Facto Leader Ali Larijani

The Israeli military on Tuesday announced it has eliminated Iran’s de facto leader, Ali Larijani, with an airstrike.

If the remnants of Iran’s government confirm his death, he will be the highest-level leader of the terrorist regime to be eliminated since Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei died in the first hour of the war, and he could prove to be a greater operational loss than the elderly cleric was.

“I was just informed by the Chief of Staff that the Secretary of the National Security Council, Larijani, and the head of the Basij — Iran’s main suppression body — Soleimani, were eliminated tonight and joined the head of the destruction plan, Khamenei, and all the thwarted members of the evil axis in the depths of hell,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday.

Gholamreza Soleimani was the commander of the Basij, the thuggish militia deployed by the Iranian regime to keep its people in line during uprisings.

Soleimani assumed command of the Basij six months ago, meaning he was in charge during Iran’s violent suppression of the “Bloody November” protests in 2019, the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement in 2022, and the massive popular uprising in January 2025. The regime admitted to murdering almost 10,000 of its own people to suppress the latest uprising and some observers believe the true death toll was over three times that high. Trump Briefed Iran’s New Supreme Leader Is ‘Probably Gay’

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, may be gay, according to intel reportedly briefed to President Donald Trump last week.

Trump and several intelligence officials reportedly laughed after being briefed on the allegation, including one senior official who “has not stopped laughing about it for days.” Despite the reaction, U.S. intelligence sources believe the claim is credible, the New York Post reported Monday. One source told the Post the claim comes from “one of the most protected sources that the government has.”

Mojtaba had a “long-term sexual relationship” with a former tutor and made “aggressive” sexual advances to men taking care of him, sources told the Post. A 2008 U.S. diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks was included in the report, which stated that the new Ayatollah married “late in life” and underwent two years of medical treatment in the United Kingdom for “an impotency problem.” The late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei suspected his son was gay and feared it could corrupt and undermine his leadership of the Islamic Republic, where homasexual conduct is illegal, the Post wrote.

Mojtaba succeeded his father as the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader on March 8. Trump previously called the new Ayatollah “lightweight” in a phone interview with Axios, saying he was “unacceptable.”

The supreme leader was strangely absent from his own inaugural address, releasing a written statement instead of appearing on camera. The president later doubted whether Mojtaba was still alive, saying, “So far, nobody’s been able to show him.” (Read more from “Trump Briefed Iran’s New Supreme Leader Is ‘Probably Gay’” HERE)

Kim Jong-un Threatens ‘Tactical’ Nuclear Strikes During Rocket Launch with Daughter

North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong-un declared that the country’s enemies — namely, America and South Korea — would soon understand “destructive power of tactical nuclear weapon” [sic] during a rocket launch this weekend, state media reported on Sunday.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea’s flagship state news outlet, published photos of the rocket launch showing the dictator alongside his daughter, Ju-ae, believed to be about 12 years old. Kim has been careful to invite and prominently feature his daughter in several recent public appearances, including an excursion to test firearms at a munitions factory last week. South Korean intelligence officials stated this year that they believe Kim has formally chosen his daughter as a successor to his communist regime, which forces the people of North Korea to worship the Kim family.

The text of the KCNA coverage did not mention the younger Kim, offering details instead of the hardware being tested during the event and Kim’s remarks explaining the need for the rocket launches.

“The drill involved twelve 600mm-calibre ultra-precision multiple rocket launchers and two artillery companies,” KCNA explained, revealing that the test took place on Saturday. Another North Korean propaganda outlet, the newspaper Rodong Sinmun, reported that the rockets were shot at an island in the East Sea (also known as the Sea of Japan) and landed with alleged “100 percent” accuracy. Kim suggested in his remarks that the rockets were capable of carrying nuclear payloads.

“He said that the drill would expose the forces hostile to the DPRK, the enemies within the 420-km [about 260 miles] striking range, to uneasiness,” KCNA paraphrased Kim as saying, “making a signaling wave stronger than the aimed, and give them a deep understanding of the destructive power of tactical nuclear weapon.” (Read more from “Kim Jong-un Threatens ‘Tactical’ Nuclear Strikes During Rocket Launch with Daughter” HERE)

Is Netanyahu’s Coffee Shop Video AI-Made? Grok’s Claim Reignites ‘Dead’ Rumor; ‘100% Deepfake’

On Sunday, amid rumors that he had been assassinated, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video from a coffee shop in Tel Aviv where he debunked claims about his death.

Given that the rumor about Netanyahu’s death originated with claims that a video of him posted on Netanyahu’s official social media accounts was AI-generated, the coffee shop video also sparked similar speculation. On top of it, a claim that Gork, Elon Musk’s X’s chatbot, made, only added to the speculation.

In the previous video, social media users claimed that Netanyahu was purportedly seen with six fingers on his hands. The claims were, however, debunked by Turkey’s Anadolu news agency, which called them a hoax.

As the coffee shop video sparked speculation of a deepfake, Grok said in response to a user’s query that the video is indeed AI-generated. In a follow-up response on the same threat, Grok said the video is “100% deepfake.” Given that the video was released on the official social media accounts of Benjamin Netanyahu, Grok’s response only fueled the row.

“It’s AI-generated,” Grok wrote. “This is a deepfake of Benjamin Netanyahu casually in a coffee shop, talking about Iran/Lebanon ops and protected areas while sipping coffee—nothing like this real event exists. The original post explicitly calls it advanced unreleased AI.”

US Embassy in Baghdad Hit in Missile Attack

The US Embassy in Baghdad was targeted in a missile attack on Friday night, according to reports.

The missile struck a helipad at the embassy, the Associated Press reported.

Smoke was seen rising from the diplomatic mission in video posted on social media by Sabereen News, a pro-Iranian militia outlet in Iraq.

The attack took place shortly after two fighters belonging to an Iran-backed militant group were killed in Baghdad, AFP reported, citing sources.

The embassy is located in Baghdad’s heavily fortified “green zone.”

It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the attack. (Read more from “US Embassy in Baghdad Hit in Missile Attack” HERE)

Lebanon Proposes Ceasefire as Israel-Hezbollah War Displaces Hundreds of Thousands

The Lebanese government pushed for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah this week, citing the vast number of civilians displaced from southern Lebanon by the fighting.

Israel has thus far been cool to the proposal, expressing little confidence in the Lebanese government’s will or ability to disarm Hezbollah by force.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun presented a four-point proposal on Tuesday that would include a “complete truce,” logistical support for the Lebanese Army to disarm Hezbollah, and “direct negotiations under international auspices” to get Israeli forces out of Lebanon. Direct negotiations with Israel have previously been a forbidden subject for Lebanese leaders.

Aoun denounced Hezbollah’s attack on Israel as “a trap, and an almost overt ambush for Lebanon, and the Lebanese state, and the Lebanese people.” He said Hezbollah and its paymasters in Tehran were trying to “buy the fall of the Lebanese state” without concern for the price, which included “destroying dozens of our villages and the fall of tens of thousands of our people for the sake of the Iranian regime’s calculations.”

Aoun said over 700,000 Lebanese citizens have been displaced by the fighting, including 200,000 children, creating a massive humanitarian crisis. (Read more from “Lebanon Proposes Ceasefire as Israel-Hezbollah War Displaces Hundreds of Thousands” HERE)
