Gun Control Activist Shoots Her Three Children Dead

A mother in Texas was found dead alongside her three children on Friday in an apparent triple murder-suicide.

Ashley Auzenne, 39, was known to have been battling depression and anxiety in addition to physical ailments such as arthritis and lupus at the time of her death, which was ruled as a suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Her three children, Parrish, 11, Eleanor, 9, and Lincoln, 7, were also killed by gunshots and their mother is the only suspect. She had just finalized a contentious divorce from their father, Murvin Auzenne Jr.

Auzenne was a vocal advocate for stricter gun control in the United States with multiple social media postings calling for an end to gun violence and Facebook profile pictures that bore the hashtags #Enough and #EndGunViolence. Here’s Everything the NYT Left out of a Misleading Article on Transgender Athletes

The New York Times left crucial context out of an article on the transgender sports issue published in Monday’s paper.

Times reporter Jeremy Peters left out all examples of biologically male athletes dominating female athletics from his article, which noted that the transgender sports issue has become a factor in the Kentucky’s governor race.

Biologically male athletes have racked up achievements in: high school girls’ track and field, NCAA women’s track and field, NCAA women’s cross country, international women’s cycling and women’s powerlifting, among other sports. None of those examples were included in Peters’s article.

Peters, who did not return an email seeking comment, also described it as an “alarmist claim” to say that “If Democrats have their way, soon boys will be able to compete against girls in school sports.” But that’s not an “alarmist claim” — it’s a fact.

The Equality Act, which passed the House with unanimous Democratic support in May and is supported by every Democratic presidential frontrunner, would force public schools across the country to include male athletes who identify as transgender in female athletics. The Times article mentioned the Equality Act zero times. (Read more from “Here’s Everything the NYT Left out of a Misleading Article on Transgender Athletes” HERE)

GOP State Lawmakers Craft Bills to Ban Child Gender Transition Treatment

Three Republican lawmakers in three states, including Kentucky where elections will be held on Tuesday, are crafting legislation to protect children from controversial gender transition treatment such as puberty-blocking drugs or surgery.

Kentucky State Rep. Savannah Maddox (R) wrote in a recent Facebook post that she “began drafting a bill designed to protect children under the age of 18 from gender reassignment surgery or from receiving drug treatments designed to alter their natal gender.”

“I am a strong advocate for parents’ rights — but it is not the right of a parent to permanently alter a child’s gender or identity, even when based upon certain behaviors or the perceptions of a child’s mind which has not yet had time to fully develop,” Maddox wrote.

As Breitbart News reported, Georgia State Rep. Ginny Ehrhart (R) is not targeting youth whose parents claim they want to change their gender but the medical profession and its role in giving children life-altering, gender-changing treatment. Her legislation would make the practice a felony. . .

But LGBT activists are reporting that these lawmakers are “targeting transgender” children, including a report in the left-wing website The Advocate. (Read more from “GOP State Lawmakers Craft Bills to Ban Child Gender Transition Treatment” HERE)

Kanye’s ‘Jesus Is King’ Album Debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts, Tying Record

Kanye West’s new counter-cultural, Jesus-praising album has generated a ton of public discussion since its release; now, it has also generated a new tied record for its creator.

A story at Billboard explains that Kanye West’s “Jesus Is King” album — which was released on October 25 by G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Records — has become the artist’s ninth consecutive number-one debut on the Billboard 200 chart, tying him with Eminem’s record.

According to the outlet, the Billboard 200 chart ranks album sales based on a combination of traditional purchases, downloads, and song streams. West’s newest album earned 264,000 “equivalent album units” during its first week, which ended on Thursday. Of that total, 109,000 were from album sales, while the balance was largely from streaming activity.

West’s ninth straight number-one album ties him for sixth for overall number-one albums in the chart’s history alongside the Rolling Stones, Madonna, and Garth Brooks, Billboard explains. The Beatles currently hold the top spot with 19 number-one albums overall. “Jesus Is King” also helped drive the single biggest streaming week of West’s career, the story adds.

Past its sales, download, and streaming numbers, the album also appears to be generating some interest in finding out about Christianity as well. According to a Faithwire report, internet searches for scripture and questions about Christianity spiked during the week after its release. The American Bible Society, which was founded in 1816, even responded to the trend by offering to send up to 1,000 free Bibles to scripturally curious Kanye fans.

But despite all the hype “Jesus Is King” has created, not everyone has been completely on board with the the new God-fearing, Bible-quoting Kanye. While West’s public conversion and new direction have driven some to inquire about Christianity, others have taken the more skeptical skeptical approach of questioning the legitimacy of the change.

One megachurch pastor, Greg Laurie, even felt the need to address the artist’s public inquisitors, telling them to “Just shut up for a minute” and “pray that he gets grounded in his faith, pray that he’s a seed sown on good ground that brings forth much fruit.” (For more from the author of “Kanye’s ‘Jesus Is King’ Album Debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts, Tying Record” please click HERE)

In Decision Certain to Draw Fire, Journal Will Publish Heavily Criticized Paper on Gender Differences in Physics

In a move likely to attract criticism, a peer-reviewed journal has agreed to publish an Italian physicist’s highly contested analysis of publications, which concludes that female physicists don’t face more career obstacles than their male colleagues. The journal says it will also simultaneously publish critiques of the paper, which one member of the journal’s editorial board says is “flawed” and contains “unsubstantiated claims.”

Last year, physicist Alessandro Strumia received widespread criticism after presenting a talk at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland, where he was a guest professor. During the presentation, he asserted that physics was built and invented by men, and stated on a slide that “Physics is not sexist against women.” Thousands of physicists signed a letter voicing concerns about Strumia’s views and some researchers published detailed critiques of his findings and methods, which focused on published papers in the field of “fundamental physics” that includes theoretical and experimental studies of fundamental particles, cosmology, and astrophysics. Some of Strumia’s critics have argued that such literature analyses are not sufficient to support his claims. Both CERN and Strumia’s employer, the University of Pisa in Italy, launched investigations. Earlier this year, CERN cut all ties with Strumia and the university released a statement condemning his comments.

The upcoming paper, which Strumia has posted on his website, has been accepted for publication by Quantitative Science Studies (QSS), which publishes “theoretical and empirical research on science and the scientific workforce.” Strumia’s study examines 1.3 million fundamental physics papers, published from 1970 to this year, which are indexed by CERN’s INSPIRE database. After identifying authors as men or women based on their names, the study confirms what Strumia calls a “well known” gender skew in fundamental physics: For every four new male Ph.D.s who publish, there is just one new female Ph.D. Strumia also concludes that male and female physicists have similar opinions about which papers deserve to be cited, and that authors of both genders cite their own studies at similar rates. (That finding diverges from a 2016 analysis, which Strumia cites, that concluded male authors cite their own work on average 56% more than female authors.) Strumia also finds that the publication records, which show institutional affiliations, reveal no statistically significant difference in how quickly men and women are hired after receiving their Ph.D.s, or the rate at which they stop publishing in the field, which Strumia uses as an indicator for when a researcher has left academic research. Strumia notes this finding contradicts other studies that have found that a higher proportion of women drop out of academia than men.

The primary takeaway from his study, Strumia tells ScienceInsider, is that men and women have equal opportunities in fundamental physics, and women don’t necessarily face a more hostile work environment. “This is what comes out from the data,” he says. “I believe [this] because I see this in the data.” (Read more from “In Decision Certain to Draw Fire, Journal Will Publish Heavily Criticized Paper on Gender Differences in Physics” HERE)

‘Black Panther’ Star Blasts Media for Editing out ‘Massive Part Where I Give God the Glory’

“Black Panther” star Letitia Wright throws shade at journalists and the media for ignoring her Christian faith.

The British actress, who was the biggest box office star in 2018 for her role as Shuri in Marvel’s “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” tweeted Monday — two days before Harper’s Bazaar named her as one of their “Women of the Year,” but did not mention her faith. . .

When she received the “Rising Star” award at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) earlier this year, she revealed her previous battle with depression and said her deep faith in Jesus got her through it.

“I can’t get up here without thanking God,” she shared. “A few years ago, I saw myself in a deep state of depression, and I literally wanted to quit acting. The only thing that pretty much pulled me out of that was God, my belief, my faith, my family, and an email from BAFTA saying they wanted me to be a part of the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits, and I was like, ‘let me try again.'” (Read more from “‘Black Panther’ Star Blasts Media for Editing out ‘Massive Part Where I Give God the Glory’” HERE)

Birth Coach ‘Hounded out’ of Job by Trans Activists After Saying Only Women Can Have Babies

A birth coach in the United Kingdom has been harassed and “hounded out” of her job with Doula UK, the U.K.’s national organization for birth coaches, after authoring a Facebook message that stated a basic biological fact: only women can have children.

The Daily Mail reports that Lynsey McCarthy-Calvert was forced to step down as Doula UK’s national spokeswoman and leave the group altogether because she dared to express the “controversial” “opinion.”

“Lynsey McCarthy-Calvert, 45, was forced to stand down as spokesperson for Doula UK and has since resigned altogether from the national organisation for birth coaches,” Daily Mail says. “Her exit comes after transgender rights activists triggered an investigation in which Doula UK concluded her message breached its equality and diversity guidelines.”

The British tabloid news outlet is careful to note that McCarthy-Calvert wasn’t fired by Doula UK outright, but resigned after she became the target of a campaign of harassment, “believing Doula UK had ‘acquiesced’ to demands from a small number of activists and failed to stand up for women’s rights.”

The incident follows a string of U.K. controversies surrounding various British entities’ embrace of gender neutral terminology to describe issues that were previously acknowledged to be uniquely female. Head of McDonald’s Forced to Step down After Relationship with Employee

McDonald’s chief executive left the company after violating company policy by engaging in a consensual relationship with an employee, the corporation said Sunday.

The fast food giant said former president and CEO Steve Easterbrook demonstrated poor judgment. McDonald’s forbids managers from having romantic relationships with direct or indirect reports. . .

McDonald’s board of directors voted on Easterbrook’s departure Friday after conducting a thorough review. Details of Easterbrook’s separation package will be released Monday in a federal filing, according to a company spokesperson.

The board of directors named Chris Kempczinski, who recently served as president of McDonald’s USA, as its new president and chief executive.

Kempczinski was instrumental in the development of McDonald’s strategic plan and oversaw the most comprehensive transformation of the US business in McDonald’s history, said Enrique Hernandez, chairman of McDonald’s board, in a statement. Lawmaker Drafting Bill to Make It a Felony for Doctors to Aid a Minor’s Gender Transition

A Georgia state representative is drafting legislation that would make it a felony for a medical provider to aid a minor in the process of changing genders, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The bill is being written by Republican state Rep. Ginny Ehrhart, a first-term lawmaker who won the seat after her husband held it for the previous 30 years. . .

The goal of the bill would be to prevent children from undergoing permanent physical changes at a young age when they may not be equipped to make such an irreversible decision. . .

Specifically, doctors would not be allowed to perform mastectomies, vasectomies, castration, or other forms of genital mutilation on minors for the purpose of gender transition. The bill would criminalize “the removal of otherwise healthy or non-diseased body parts from minor children,” according to a news release. . .

“These children are suffering from a psychological condition without biologic basis,” said Atlanta-based pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Quentin Van Meter in the release. “Using the bludgeon of threatened suicide as justification is first of all cruel, and secondly, not supported by valid published studies.” (Read more from “Lawmaker Drafting Bill to Make It a Felony for Doctors to Aid a Minor’s Gender Transition” HERE)

Justice Ginsburg May Have Lied to Senate, Bill Clinton Admits He Picked Her Because She’s Pro-Abortion

Former President Bill Clinton admitted Wednesday that abortion was a major factor in his decision to nominate Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“There is one thing that we did discuss, and I feel I should tell you, because it will illustrate why I thought I should appoint her,” Clinton said during a speech at Georgetown University Law School, ABC News reports. . .

Ginsburg is perhaps the most faithful defender of abortion on demand on the U.S. Supreme Court, but Clinton’s admission is significant because, as ABC News noted, “political leaders in both parties have sought to avoid the appearance of an abortion litmus test for high court nominees.”

According to National Review, Clinton’s comments also suggest Ginsburg may have lied during her U.S. Senate confirmation hearing. . .

“Abortion was a big issue in 1992 — the right to choose. I was one of the first pro-choice Democrats to run since Roe v. Wade, who actually benefited from Roe v. Wade,” he said Wednesday. “Now, she didn’t have to say anything about this. She knew this perfectly well that I was under a lot of pressure to make sure I appointed someone who is Simon-pure, which I had said was important.” (Read more from “Justice Ginsburg May Have Lied to Senate, Bill Clinton Admits He Picked Her Because She’s Pro-Abortion” HERE)
