Border Patrol Wives Issue Formal Proposal for Nancy Pelosi in Brutal Letter

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall an “immorality” earlier this month and has refused to provide funding for such a barrier, prolonging a partial government shutdown that Trump temporarily put the kibosh on earlier this week.

So, wives of United States Border Patrol agents have formally asked Pelosi to the southern border to illustrate the need for a barrier.

“We the WIVES OF THE RGV (Rio Grande Valley) BP (Border Patrol) would like to cordially invite you to come visit McAllen, TX as President Trump did,” reads a letter from border agents’ significant others, posted from Jill Demanski’s Facebook account. The letter was posted last Thursday, just before Trump paused the shutdown.

“Most of us wives will be home and available,” the letter continues, noting that they will be available and not “jetting off to Puerto Rico for a few days.” Pelosi was one of 30 Democrats to go to Puerto Rico, accompanied by 109 lobbyists, during the shutdown, reports The Washington Examiner.

“We would like to show you around! You don’t need to bring any security detail. Our husbands/boyfriends/fiances/wives/significant others are actually very good at their jobs, thank goodness!” the letter says. “And since you see no threat here, I’m sure you can just make a quick flight down here alone. Hey, Trump might even allow you to use his plane for this visit!!”

NYT Reporter Is Writing an ‘Expose Christian Schools’ Report. Here’s What He’s Found So Far.

The New York Times’s Dan Levin told Twitter on Thursday that he was writing a piece based on the hashtag #exposeChristianschools. He shared his prompt just a few days after the outrage over a group of Covington Catholic high school students and whether they taunted a group of Native American veterans. Further video footage suggested otherwise.

Some people predicted Levin’s final story would be a hit job on religious institutions. But, if there were those who tweeted back at him with negative experiences, they appeared to be few and far between. The majority of responses Levin received were from people eager to share how their Christian education shaped them for the better.

That’s when the New York Times contributor explained that he didn’t create the #exposeChristianschools hashtag. He was just writing a report on it and was happy to hear from everyone.

California College Drops Pledge of Allegiance Over ‘White Nationalism’

The board of trustees president for a California community college ended the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance at meetings, claiming the ritual was “steeped in expressions of nativism and white nationalism.”

Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees president Robert Miller explained his decision in an email to Celeste Barber, a former adjunct instructor. The emails were obtained by Campus Reform.

“I assume full responsibility for the decision not to recite the Pledge of Allegiance,” Miller wrote. “I agree with you that the Pledge is an example of good writing. It well demonstrates the principle that fewer, well-chosen words are often the most effective. I also applaud and honor the patriotism that motivates your request and share your reverence for the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. . .

Miller claimed in his email to Barber that the pledge carried with it some negative connotations that he wanted the school to get away from.

“Moreover, I have discovered that the Pledge of Allegiance has a history steeped in expressions of nativism and white nationalism. The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1890 by Francis Bellamy, a former Baptist minister. … In support of the Pledge, Mr. Bellamy expressed concern about the ‘races which we cannot assimilate without a lowering of our racial standard.'”

New York’s New Abortion Law Even Removes Protections for WANTED Babies

New York’s new partial birth abortion law, which legalizes killing babies up until moments before birth, also has an impact on the children abortion advocates are always claiming they support: the wanted children.

The New York Reproductive Health Act (or RHA) is horrifying enough on its face; the bill legalizes abortion from week one of a pregnancy through birth for all women in New York state, for nearly any excuse, allowing doctors to perform abortions up to mere minutes before a child is born and well after 24 weeks, the recognized point of viability outside the womb.

But lawmakers recognized that allowing for partial-birth abortion, and in a separate law criminalizing the murder of an unborn — but wanted — baby created a conflict in the state code. That same measure also defines a baby past the 24th week of gestation as a “person” — another hurdle for the RHA.

If a pregnant woman is harmed and her baby is killed, New York, until January 23rd, defined that death as a homicide and prescribed appropriate punishments in line with the state’s existing murder laws. But the new law specifically rewrites the New York penal code, Pajamas Media and the Albany Times Union report, to remove those prescriptions.

“Homicide means conduct which causes the death of a person [or an unborn child with which a female has been pregnant for more than twenty-four weeks] under circumstances constituting murder, manslaughter in the first degree, manslaughter in the second degree, orcriminally negligent homicide[, abortion in the first degree or self-abortion in the first degree].”

Look at This Turnout: ‘Thousands’ Attend Funeral of Air Force Veteran With No Family

Over the weekend, a Texas cemetery asked the public to attend the funeral of an Air Force veteran because it appeared that no one was expected to attend.

The call went out when the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery said it could not locate the man’s family and did not want him to be buried alone, according to Fox News. The story went viral on social media, with many including Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and CNN host Jake Tapper calling attention to it and asking people to attend the funeral.

Look how many have shown up to honor this American hero:

Pregnant Cancer Patient Puts off Treatment to Save Baby’s Life, Refuses to Consider Abortion

. . .The heroic decision was chronicled during a recent episode of “Hospital” on BBC Two, the Daily Mail reported. The program offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of England’s National Health Service.

On Thursday, the show followed staff and patients at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. That’s where a story emerged about a pregnant woman identified only as “Kate,” who was given a life-altering diagnosis: Her breast cancer returned and spread to her bones. . .

Kate was first diagnosed with cancer in her 20s and had both of her breasts removed in 2008. She and her husband, Glen, waited more than five years to have their second child so Kate could finish treatments designed to prevent the cancer from returning, according to the report. . .

The heart-wrenching story arrives as the U.S. is caught in a firestorm over New York State’s announcement that it will allow abortions up until a baby is born. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the New York’s Reproductive Health Act, on Jan. 22, the 46th anniversary of Roe V. Wade.

Supporters claim the law is intended offer protection is a woman’s health is at risk. But the measure also moved the abortion law “from the state’s penal code to its health code,” which eliminates the chance for doctors and others to face prosecution, according to Newsday. Doctor Who Has Delivered Nearly 4,000 Babies Torches New York Abortion Law

Lifesite News reports that Dr. William Lile, a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist, has issued a blistering condemnation of New York state’s recently passed state law which allows abortion up until birth.

As noted by Lifesite’s Calvin Freiburger, Dr. Wile says that “modern medical technology is already giving preborn babies blood transfusions, heart surgery, and more.” Many of these surgeries can occur at 22 weeks in the womb, the Alabama and Florida licensed practitioner said. Thus, “If they’re a patient they’re a person, and if they are a person they deserve our protection.”

But, New York’s bill states that “Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion.” The new law also “erases the state’s recognition of preborn babies older than 24 weeks as potential homicide victims, removes abortion from the penal code entirely, and allows licensed health practitioners other than full doctors to commit abortions.”

Here’s a List of States That Permit Abortion up to Birth

Many have been upset recently by New York’s new permissive abortion law that allows abortion “within 24 weeks from the commencement of pregnancy, or there is an absence of fetal viability, or at any time when necessary to protect a patient’s life or health.”

However, New York’s law is not as extreme as the policies in the following seven states that have no, or little, restrictions on abortion and allow abortion up until birth, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research and policy group.

The states with the most lenient abortion laws are Oregon, Vermont, Colorado, New Hampshire and the District of Columbia, where there are no major prohibitions on abortion.

As evident from Guttmacher’s overview, in these states there are no laws requiring that abortions must be performed by a licensed physician or that they must be performed at a hospital. There are no 20-week, 24-week, or even official viability prohibitions on abortion. . .

In Alaska, New Jersey, and New Mexico, abortions are allowed up until birth and the states fund “all or most medically necessary abortions,” however, the procedures must be performed by a licensed physician. New Jersey has the additional requirement that abortions must be performed in a hospital past 14 weeks. (Read more from “Here’s a List of States That Permit Abortion up to Birth” HERE)

Even Though Supreme Court Upheld Transgender Ban, Pentagon Refuses to Change Direction Citing Technicality

The Pentagon will not immediately implement President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender men and women serving in the military, the Defense Department said Wednesday, one day after the Supreme Court removed some legal roadblocks that have stalled the controversial policy.

The Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision on Tuesday removed preliminary injunctions that for more than a year halted the Pentagon from implementing the so-called “Mattis Plan,” a policy penned by former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at Trump’s direction that would ban most transgender men and women from enlisting in the military. However, one such preliminary injunction issued by a federal judge overseeing a discrimination lawsuit in Maryland remained in place as of Wednesday, said Air Force Lt. Col. Carla Gleason, a Pentagon spokeswoman.

The Department of Justice “is seeking relief from this remaining injunction in light of the Supreme Court’s action, but at present it remains in place,” Gleason said. She stressed as of Wednesday that the Pentagon continued to operate under the Defense Department’s 2016 policy, which opened military service to transgender men and women and allowed them to enlist starting Jan. 1, 2018. . .

A White House effort to ban transgender people from military service has been mired in confusion and litigation since Trump’s surprise announcement in July 2017 via Twitter that he would no longer allow transgender people to serve. The directive – made formal in a White House order about one month later – came without any apparent consultation among top Pentagon officials and was decried by Democratic lawmakers and advocates for transgender individuals as a political move.

Mattis’ plan was issued in March 2018 and claimed open service by transgender men and women could undermine the military’s combat readiness. It sought to exclude transgender individuals who had undergone a sex transition or were seeking to transition from their biological gender from joining the military. However, it granted exceptions for active-duty servicemembers who had already identified themselves as transgender. Officials said there were about 900 such servicemembers in the military now. MAGA Kid Madness Continues: Suspicious Package Sent to Covington Diocese

We’re back. It’s another episode of Triggered, and the Left surely has been insufferable over the past week. This Covington Catholic story has reached new levels of absurdity and danger. Last week, a group of students from Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky gathered in D.C. by the Lincoln Memorial. They were there for the March for Life. Black Hebrew Israelites harassed them with obscenities. The students did sports chants to drown out the vulgarity. Nathan Phillips, a Native American man who was in the city for the Indigenous Peoples March, approached the crowd to defuse the situation, supposedly. The point is it was not a racially motivated hounding in which these kids, sporting MAGA hats, surrounded a Native America man and mocked him. That didn’t happen. It’s straight fake news. Video evidence has refuted the entire narrative. Still, the Left is relentless. Death threats have been directed to the students at the school, which now requires police security. And now a suspicious package was sent to the diocese (via WaPo):

The Diocese of Covington, at the center of a controversy over students’ behavior during a confrontation with a Native American man last week, was evacuated Wednesday afternoon following reports of a suspicious package.

The evacuation, first reported by local media, was confirmed by an on-duty firefighter at Covington’s Firehouse #1, a short distance from the Catholic basilica, which houses the diocese.

“The chief and the assistant fire chief are on the run,” the firefighter said, “and this is an active, ongoing situation.”

According to WLWT5, Cincinnati Bomb Squad and emergency management was on the scene in central Covington. Local TV stations showed emergency vehicles responding.
