Meet Washington’s Plastic Straw Cop

With all the municipal governments banning the use of plastic straws, somebody has to be the guy that enforces it. In our nation’s capital, that man is Zach Rybarczyk, an inspector for the D.C. Department of Energy and Environment, who goes from restaurant to restaurant issuing notices to any violators, reports the Anchorage Daily News.

Rybarczyk described his recent patrol of D.C.’s Union Station food court, where one violator, the Chinese restaurant Lotus Express, was issued a warning: Should the restaurant fail to eliminate their stash of plastic straws, they would be fined up to $800.

“At Lotus Express, the inspector, one of three dispatched by the city to check cafeterias, bars and restaurants, scribbled the restaurant’s name on the paper sleeve of the plastic straw and tucked it into his back pocket, along with two others from scofflaw restaurants,” reports the Anchorage Daily News. “He planned to later check whether they floated in water, another telltale sign of prohibited plastic.”

Julie Lawson, director of D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser’s Office of the Clean City, told the Anchorage Daily News that plastic straws will soon become as socially unacceptable as tobacco.

“It’s pretty absurd the amount of resources we put into creating plastic materials that we are using for five minutes to an hour, and then never again,” said Lawson. “Single-use plastics are taking the same cultural place as tobacco, where it’s socially unacceptable.” (Read more from “Meet Washington’s Plastic Straw Cop” HERE)

It’s Time for Pro-Lifers to Realize They’re Losing

When is it time to question the power of the pro-life movement? This week the state of New York passed a law that will mean babies can be killed up to the moment of birth. Babies that feel pain, cry, and could easily survive outside the womb will be brutally killed, chopped up, and sucked out like pieces of meat. Vermont is considering a similar bill. So is Virginia.

Meanwhile, the annual March for Life had a huge turnout this year, estimated to be as high as 300,000 people. How do these two things go together? Perhaps big marches are not a sign of success.

A New York book store owner, who became somewhat famous after he shut down his store in protest of the new abortion law, put it this way: “When intense pro-life involvement is defined by going to an annual pep rally or giving five bucks to a pro-life lobbyist at a Sanctity of Life Sunday, it’s not surprising that someone hanging a sign in his window, turning off the lights and going home is viewed as heroic.”

The pro-life movement has too much bark and no bite, too much signal and too little virtue. It takes participation in a march as more significant than legal victories ending abortion. The simple truth is that the pro-life movement is stagnant, dominated by an uncritical and defeatist attitude. It needs some new life.

A friend who worked for a pro-life organization very much in the “the movement” confirms this. He became frustrated that people there ignore the evidence in front of them, and instead show excitement about the size of the marches, acting “as if our country is turning a corner and is getting closer and closer to life.” Meanwhile, they react more strongly to those who challenge their approved legal tactics or rhetoric than they do actual political defeats, as if questioning the success of the movement is some sort of heresy. U.S. School District Attempting Unconstitutional Bible Ban, Students Sue

Cumberland County High School students filed a lawsuit against their Pennsylvania school district over what they call an unconstitutional ban on distributing the Bible on campus.

The students, leaders of the Christians in Action Student Club, filed their lawsuit against Mechanicsburg Area School District (MASD) Wednesday with the help of Independence Law Center after the district refused to rescind its policies preventing the students from handing out Bibles on campus during non-instructional hours. The law firm, a local pro-bono legal organization, initially sent a letter to school district administrators challenging them to rescind their “Bible ban.”

The school district responded to the challenge, claiming the law firm’s allegations were “misleading” and that the students never formally requested to hand out Bibles and were therefore never officially prohibited from distributing scripture. The law firm disputed the district’s claim, saying that email records proved otherwise. . .

The students alleged that their school principal, David Harris, denied their request to hand out Bibles to their friends during lunch and told them that they would have to get approval from the school administration even if they wanted to hand out Bibles after school hours. School policy reportedly relegates students’ free speech to 30 minutes before school and 30 minutes after school on sidewalks bordering school property. Robber Points Gun at Family Dollar Employees — His Last Mistake Was Ignoring an Armed Customer Behind Him

A suspected robber is dead after allegedly trying to rob a Family Dollar in Dekalb County, Georgia, and ignoring the customer who was armed behind him during the altercation.

The attempted robbery occurred on Tuesday morning when a man walked into the discount store and pointed a gun at two employees.

While one employee was handing over money to the robber, a customer walked from the back of the store to the front, and witnessed the robber pointing his gun at the employee’s head.

He then pulled his own gun out and shot the robber several times. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. . .

Police say the customer who killed the would-be robber will not be charged with any crime. They are hailing him as a “good Samaritan” for stopping the robbery and possibly saving the lives of many people. Girl Scout Leader Said Someone Stole the Cookie Money. She Lied.

. . .Jessica Medina, a volunteer leader, told police that a possibly disguised man took the envelope containing $500 cash and multiple checks off the table. She said the envelope had been left unattended but that the theft must have been captured on mall security cameras. She also said the thief was a man walking with an elderly woman using a red walker, according to NBC.

Police interviewed parents and anyone else who were helping to sell cookies that day, and discovered that the money envelope was actually “kept in a secure cash box and was never left out on the table,” NBC reported. Police also talked to the man traveling with the elderly woman and determined they were not suspects. The alleged theft was not captured on mall security cameras.

Medina then changed her story after police spoke to her again, now suggesting the envelope was accidentally thrown out after the cookie sale. . .

“Today, the Woodbridge Police Department announced that an exhaustive investigation into the alleged theft of Girl Scout cookie monies has concluded with a finding of insufficient evidence to support the theft allegation as initially reported by our troop leader,” the statement said.

“We are surprised and very saddened at this turn of events. The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey expects the highest standards of fiscal responsibility and ethical behavior from our volunteers, in keeping with our mission, our values, and our Girl Scout Promise and Laws. Trump Must Be Stronger on Abortion to Win in 2020

The American people were reminded this week that there are depraved politicians in this country who think there should be a legal right to kill children in the late stages of pregnancy and maybe even beyond. As Democratic lawmakers in New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island move to advance late-term abortion bills that would allow babies to be murdered at any point up to delivery, Democrats have nowhere to hide their radical, evil position on killing children.

President Donald Trump should go on offense on the abortion issue this week, today even, next week in the State of the Union address, and every day for the next two years if he wants to win re-election in 2020.

When it became clear in 2016 that Donald Trump was going to be the Republican nominee for president, many conservatives had reservations about voting for him. Though he claimed to be a conservative on many issues, he was still an unknown factor. He had no record of governing. He was a lifelong New Yorker, and his past positions were quite liberal. He had supported Democrats for election. Pro-lifers were among those concerned that if elected, Donald Trump would be a pro-abortion liberal president. He had, after all, declared in 1999 that he was “very pro-choice.”

There were two issues Trump campaigned on that united enough conservatives around his candidacy to ultimately prevail on Election Day and defeat Hillary Clinton. The first was abortion. Trump campaigned as a pro-life candidate, explaining that his position changed after watching a friend decide against abortion and coming to know the “great, great child” that is living today. He pledged to defund Planned Parenthood as president. The second issue that won over conservatives was Trump’s promises to nominate originalist judges to the Supreme Court. Trump also always promised these judges would be pro-life and would overturn Roe v. Wade.

Reality struck many wavering conservatives during the final presidential debate between Trump and Clinton when the abortion issue came up. In a powerful moment, Trump showed the clear distinction between his pro-life promise and the promise of an America under the Democratic Party where restrictions on abortion were removed.

“If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby. Now you can say that that’s okay, and Hillary can say that that’s okay, but it’s not okay with me,” Trump said.

Trump beat Hillary. Pro-life voters hoping he would keep his promises were a huge reason why.

The 2020 election is now under way. Democratic candidates are lining up to challenge President Trump. Confident in their 2018 midterm victory, Democratic lawmakers across America are pushing the envelope to see how far left they can take the country. In New York, with full Democratic control of state government for the first time in years, lawmakers stood and applauded as abortion till birth was legalized exactly as Trump described it in that debate.

Now Democrats want to repeat that victory in Virginia and Rhode Island. If given the opportunity, they will try to do it nationally. They will make it legal to kill a baby at any time during pregnancy, even just before birth, because the mother wants to. With more Americans disapproving of President Trump now than at any time in his presidency yet, with most Americans believing the country is on the “wrong track,” the Democrats may have that opportunity soon. And if Virginia’s Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam is an indicator, the Left’s real position is even more evil than permitting abortion through the third trimester.

“The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

Americans will not stand for that. But so far President Trump’s response has been tepid. In an interview with the Daily Caller, Trump called Northam’s comments “terrible” and referenced his debate with Clinton.

“I thought it was terrible,” Trump said. “Do you remember when I said Hillary Clinton was willing to rip the baby out of the womb? That’s what it is, that’s what they’re doing, it’s terrible.”

The president also tweeted that the Democratic Party has become the party of late-term abortion.

Trump needs to go further. He can begin the course correction on his presidency right here, right now, making it clear to everyone that while he is president of the United States, he will fight this evil will all the powers of his office.

In his State of the Union address next week, Trump should renew calls to defund Planned Parenthood — which almost certainly is one of the special interest groups pushing the Democrats’ evil legislation. He should call on Congress to take up votes condemning the practice of abortion in the third trimester, to expose the Democrats in Congress who won’t vote for that. He should call on Congress to pass a federal heartbeat bill, protecting life from the moment of a baby’s first heartbeat. Congress should also take up legislation banning selective abortions based on sex or genetic deformity.

And if Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., refuses to bring these bills to the floor of the House, then Trump should turn around during his address, point at her, and tell the American people the Democrats’ position on killing children is so evil and extreme that their leadership won’t even allow votes on these bills.

Rewrite parts of the speech if necessary. The president cannot show weakness or inactivity to pro-life conservatives when the Democrats’ abortion extremism is so naked.

After Trump delivers this address, he should make every single one of his Democratic challengers tell the American people what their position is on late-term abortion. It should be abundantly clear to every voter in America that if they oppose killing children just before birth, they must vote to re-elect President Donald Trump.

Go after the media, too. Show how the partisan progressive mainstream media in America is the enemy of unborn children. It’s easy enough to do. When Northam’s comments were finally reported in The Washington Post, the article was originally framed as “Va. Gov. Northam faces fierce conservative backlash over late term abortion bill.”

Virginia Democratic Delegate Kathy Tran openly admitted that her legislation allows killing a baby just before birth, and the Post made it seem like Republicans were the bad guys.

This is the Left in America. These leftists do not need to be exposed. They have exposed themselves. They are defending and excusing infanticide. Do not let them get away with it, Mr. President! Shame them! Oppose them!

California Doctor Gives Weed Cookies to a Hyper Four-Year-Old Boy

A California doctor has been stripped of his license after giving a four-year-old boy some marijuana cookies in order to control the child’s temper tantrums. According to the BBC, Dr. William Eidelman, a natural medicine physician, misdiagnosed the boy with having bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder (ADD). . .

However, Dr. Eidelman did not have his license revoked due to giving the four-year-old boy marijuana, which is legal in California for medicinal purposes. It was instead due to his being “negligent in his care and treatment” for not consulting a psychiatrist or communicating with the boy’s school.

Dr. Eidelman’s “treatment” of the boy began at the request of his father in 2012, who suffered from ADHD and bipolar disorder himself as a child.

“The boy’s father consulted Dr. Eidelman in September 2012 because his son was misbehaving at school,” reports BBC. “As a child, the boy’s father had ADHD and bipolar disorder himself and had a negative experience with prescribed medications at the time, saying he felt like a ‘human guinea pig.’ He started using marijuana later in life, saying it helped ‘calm him’ and changed his behavior towards his wife, towards whom he had previously ‘exhibited anger.'” . . .

Disney Is Holding a Pride Parade at One of Its Theme Parks

The Walt Disney Company is embracing LGBT pride month for the first time ever and hosting a gay pride parade in its Disneyland Paris park in France.

The massive corporation has been moving toward a more liberal approach to sexual identity over the last decade, but the “Magical Pride” parade, set to take place on June 1, 2019, is the first time the Disney Parks have openly embraced and endorsed the shift.

The event will take place right at the beginning of global pride month — June — and will feature a “Magical March of Diversity Parade,” reportedly involving DJs, live music performances, and themed photo opportunities for visitors to the Disneyland Paris park, according to Queerty.

Gay pride events in Disney Parks are not new. The “Magical Pride” celebration has been an “unofficial” event at Disneyland Paris since 2014. Disney parks located in the United States — Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California — have both hosted unofficial LGBT events including “Gay Days,” an unofficial weekend celebration for gay couples and same sex parents. The first Gay Days celebration took place in the mid-to-late 2000s. . .

Disney has been inching closer to a cultural shift over the last decade, slowly incorporating openly LGBT characters into its television shows and animated features (including an LGBT background character in Frozen). The upcoming Disney live action film, Jungle Cruise, based on the Disney parks attraction of the same name, will feature the first openly gay character in a Disney live action feature — though the character in question will be played by a straight actor will embrace some unsavory stereotypes of gay culture. AGT’s Jackie Evancho Reveals Hollywood Pedophiles ‘Wanted to Hurt Me’ as Childhood Star

[Jackie] Evancho wrote that “entering adulthood as a 18 year old moving to New York, I felt the need to put this out into the universe as a way of continuing the healing process I’m on. I no longer have the fear to stay silent.” . . .

She recently returned to compete on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” and wrote on Facebook “there are a lot of aspects that aren’t so glamorous about being a child in the music industry but there’s a lot that I’m thankful for and would never change.” . . .

“Throughout my childhood I was also facing another reality – that there were men out there who wanted to hurt me,” she said. “Some even went to the extreme of claiming they were priests and other disarming occupations to gain trust and easy access backstage, but clearly their intentions weren’t so pure.”

Texas Democrats Seek to Ban Christianity Using So-Called Anti-Discrimination Laws

The 86th Texas legislative session got underway a few weeks ago, and liberals are already going on the offense in the traditional conservative stronghold. Left-leaning legislators have formed Texas’ first LGBTQ caucus while promising a “transformative” agenda. This includes a number of proposed “sexual orientation and gender identity” laws (SOGI) that would attack people of faith so aggressively that they can justifiably be described as “Ban the Bible” bills.

“Ban the Bible” doesn’t have to mean confiscating physical Bibles. LGBT activists aren’t that obvious with their intentions (yet). But it does mean something even worse: stripping Texans of their right to practice biblical teachings in their day to day lives.

These bills would create new government power and protections that ban the free expression of biblically grounded beliefs, especially teaching on marriage and sexuality. Numerous bills seek to force people of faith to conform to others’ personal and political activities, while setting aside their own sincerely held religious beliefs. Those who do not comply will face fines, possible jail time, or other criminal charges. . .

These proposals try to fly under the radar as “anti-discrimination” bills, because who doesn’t want to stop bullying? But such so-called anti-discrimination laws turn law-abiding Christians into criminals and Texans can’t stand by and watch it happen. H.B. 244, for example, creates a $100 per day fine for any violation. H.B. 188 includes a Class A Misdemeanor, the same punishment for a DUI or domestic violence, which could lead to a year in jail if the anti-discrimination policy is not followed.

These policies are similar to ones used against Christian cake baker Jack Philips in Colorado. Jack, of course, famously won at the U.S. Supreme Court, but that wasn’t enough to stop liberals from trying again.
