‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’ Is Now Racist

Another holiday classic has been slapped with the label “racist” by SJWs for supposedly marginalizing the token black character: “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”

People on social media have expressed outrage over the fact that the lone black character Franklin in “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” appears seated differently juxtaposed to the white characters during the famous dinner scene where Charlie Brown serves popcorn and toast to his hungry guests instead of turkey and stuffing. . .

“Not watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving anymore, until they sit some people on the same side of the table as Franklin,” said one Twitter user.

“How come Franklin, Charlie Brown’s only black friend, sits alone on the other side of the table? And in a lawn chair,” said another Twitter user. “Am I woke now, why is Franklin in Charlie Brown Thanksgiving sitting all by himself at the table. Man. Things that I did not notice as a child,” said another.

One Twitter user said the scene was reminiscent of the film “Get Out,” a story about rich, white liberals who insert their brains into black people’s bodies: “Let’s talk about Franklin. Dude gets invited to Charlie Brown’s by Peppermint Patty. Then he finds out that it wasn’t a real invite, a dog is cooking the food and he’s gotta sit by himself at dinner. That’s Get Out.”

Mystery ‘Santa Claus’ Buys Entire Stock of Layaway Items for Walmart Customers

Shoppers in Derby, Vermont, are thankful for one mystery man who picked up the tab for their layaway items at a Walmart near the Canadian border.

The unidentified man paid off the entire stock of layaway items, WCAX reports.

“I don’t even think I can find the words to say,” said shopper Julie Gates. Gates was shopping last Thursday when an unknown man offered to pay for all of her items on layaway.

“This can’t be; who can afford to just pay for everyone’s layaway? And he said, ‘Santa Claus can,’” said Gates.

“It was kind of like surreal when she said, ‘Oh, no balance due,’ or whatever, then it was really a reality,” said Tammy Desautels, another shopper who had her things paid for. A third shopper, Sandra Cortez, told WCAX she thought this extraordinary act of generosity was a rumor.

Walmart did not say how much money the mystery “Santa Claus” spent or how many people were given free gifts, but some of the items cost several hundred dollars.

“There were people ahead of me that were eight-, nine-hundred-dollar layaways,” Gates said. “I get goose bumps thinking that that is the true magic of Christmas, that’s the Christmas spirit walking amongst us,” she added.

The overwhelming feeling in Derby is thankfulness. “I want to thank him,” said Cortez. (For more from the author of “Mystery ‘Santa Claus’ Buys Entire Stock of Layaway Items for Walmart Customers” please click HERE)

Wounded Vet Rebuilds Life With Fudge Business

A wounded veteran who is blind and nearly deaf has rebuilt his life by creating a new fudge business.

Staff Sgt. Aaron Hale, who served in the U.S. Army for 14 years, started confectionary business Extra Ordinary Delight Opens a New Window. after Building Homes for Heroes gifted him a customary house. The business originated from Hale’s quest of creating a great Thanksgiving dinner for his family. . .

The couple secured a commercial kitchen growing the business exponentially with corporate clients like Boeing and the Royal Bank of Canada. . .

In 2011, during his final tour in Afghanistan, one of the improvised explosive devices blew up in his face, leaving him blind and injuring his ear drum. Later in 2015, Hale developed a severe case of bacterial meningitis that would eventually take what was left of his hearing.

“It was six months of complete silence, complete darkness as I would receive surgery and implants in both my ears,” he said on “Countdown to the Closing Bell Opens a New Window. .” (Read more from “Wounded Vet Rebuilds Life With Fudge Business” HERE)

The Clergy Sex Abuse Crisis Is Dredging up an Old Heresy

Many Catholics were outraged last week when the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops failed to take action to address the clergy sex abuse crisis. Almost as soon as the bishops convened in Baltimore, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the conference president, announced he’d received a letter from the Holy See instructing the conference not to vote on measures that would bring greater accountability to bishops. Instead, they were told to wait for a synod on the crisis that Pope Francis will host in Rome in February.

The news went down like a lead balloon. For some Catholics, it was more than they could bear. Melinda Henneberger, a columnist for USA Today and former Vatican correspondent for The New York Times, announced she was leaving the church. Addressing the bishops directly, she wrote: “After a lifetime of stubborn adherence on my part and criminal behavior on yours, your excellencies, you seem to have finally succeeded in driving me away.”

Henneberger doesn’t make an argument for why she’s leaving, she just says she’s had enough. Like several other Catholic journalists who recently left the church over the sex abuse crisis, her implication is that because so many bishops and cardinals are morally compromised, the church itself isn’t worthy of allegiance or affection.

Tempting as that conclusion might be, Henneberger and the others are giving in to an old heresy, which, like all heresies, keeps coming around in new guises. In this case, it’s a version of Donatism, the notion that for prayers and sacraments to be valid, the clerics administering them must be blameless. As a practical matter, Donatism presents the obvious problem that it’s impossible to find a blameless cleric.

But as a doctrine, it presents yet more serious problems. When Donatism began winning adherents in the fourth century, it drew the ire of Saint Augustine, who famously fought it by arguing that ministers of the sacraments were mere instruments of God’s grace, not its source, which is Jesus Christ. A University Dean Defended Brett Kavanaugh. You Can Guess What Happened Next.

A university dean who defended Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh from uncorroborated allegations of sexual assault has resigned from his leadership post.

Will Rainford, Catholic University’s dean of social service, had held his position for five years, but was suspended after tweeting logical questions of the women who came forward to accused Kavanaugh just before he was set to be confirmed.

“Swetnick is 55 y/o,” Rainford said on in a since-deleted tweet, according to the Washington Post. “Kavanaugh is 52 y/o. Since when do senior girls hang with freshmen boys? If it happened when Kavanaugh was a senior, Swetnick was an adult drinking with&by her admission, having sex with underage boys. In another universe, he would be victim & she the perp!”

Many people questioned the age difference between Swetnick and Kavanaugh at the time she made her ludicrous accusations, which initially claimed Kavanaugh spiked the punch at parties in order to get women drunk for gang-rapes. She contradicted her salacious claims in an NBC interview in early October, which aired even though the media outlet acknowledged it couldn’t find any evidence to corroborate her claim.

Swetnick and her attorney, Michael Avenatti, have since been referred for criminal investigation for making false statements. Unsurprisingly, the Washington Post failed to mention this in its article about Rainford’s tweets. All it said was that “Kavanaugh denied Swetnick’s allegation.” (Read more from “A University Dean Defended Brett Kavanaugh. You Can Guess What Happened Next.” HERE)

Feminists Said This Christmas Window Display Is Sexist

A Christmas display at a Marks & Spencer in Nottingham, Britain has feminists crying sexism for advertising a women’s “must-have fancy little knickers” beside a men’s “must-have outfits to impress.”

According to The Guardian, the original Christmas display featured the model “David Gandy wearing M&S suits with the tagline ‘must-have outfits to impress’ adjacent to red and black lingerie behind the tagline ‘must-have fancy little knickers.'” Take a look:

Feminists did not take kindly to the ad, with many blasting it as “grotesque” and “vomit-inducing.” After it went viral online, protesters defaced the women’s underwear slogan to read “must have full human rights.” . . .

“Ok, M&S Nottingham, have we really not learned anything in the last 35 years? Or am I alone in finding this, their major window display, completely vomit inducing?” said shopper Fran Bailey, who chastised the ad for both “normalization of damaging gender stereotypes through the juxtaposition of images of women apparently obsessed with ‘fancy little knickers’ with images of fully clothed men being ‘dressed to impress’ in suits,” and also the slogan “must-have” when “huge numbers of Britons are struggling with poverty.”

“I think M&S using such a strapline is just really crass when so many are without the necessities of warmth, shelter and food,” she said. “The problem is that we’re so browbeaten by this sort of imagery that we don’t even recognize what it is anymore. It’s pandering to notions of gender that are so outdated that it’s unbelievable that it’s still being spouted out. I’m disgusted because I’d have thought that M&S was a grown-up store that knew better. I know M&S is not the worst offender by any means but this particular juxtaposition is just grotesque.” (Read more from “Feminists Said This Christmas Window Display Is Sexist” HERE)

Abortion Rates in the U.S. Have Significantly Decreased

Abortion rates are the lowest they’ve been in a decade, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Abortions that were reported from 2006 to 2015 in participating areas fell 24 percent, from 842,855 to 638,169. . .

Rachel Jones, the principal research scientist for the Guttmacher Institute, told The Washington Post, that she believes the decline can be attributed to more widespread contraceptive use as well as less access to abortion.

“Analyses have suggested that improved contraceptive use played a role in the long-term declines. In some states, decreased access to abortion services contributed, as well,” she commented.

Chuck Donovan, president of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the research arm of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, argued that the decline may be due to an increase in women deciding to carry unintended pregnancies to term as well as more prevalent pro-life views.

“A higher percentage of women today decide to carry an unexpected pregnancy to term,” he said, “teenagers are less sexually active and with fewer partners, pro-life views are more prevalent among the rising generation than they were 40 years ago.” (Read more from “Abortion Rates in the U.S. Have Significantly Decreased” HERE)

Student Groups Claim Thanksgiving Is ‘Celebration’ of ‘Ongoing Genocide.’ History Says LOL

The progressive war against American traditions continues on America’s college campuses. The Thanksgiving holiday is under attack for being associated with “genocide.”

The University of Oregon’s Native American Law Students Association and the Native American Student Union are hosting an event titled, “Thanks But No Thanks-giving: Decolonizing an American Holiday,” Kenneth Nelson reports for Campus Reform. The event seeks to teach students how they can be grateful “while raising our critical consciousness and identifying ways to decolonize the holiday.”

From the event description:

Millions of families gather together every year to celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States. Many Americans do not grow up thinking much of the history behind the holiday. The main messages are that of gratitude, food, and family; however, Thanksgiving is, foundationally speaking, a celebration of the ongoing genocide against native peoples and cultures across the globe. In collaboration with the Native American Student Association (NASU), we will focus on ways in which we can continue to show gratitude while raising our critical consciousness and identifying ways to decolonize the holiday.

Thanksgiving,”foundationally speaking,” is not a celebration of genocide. The first Thanksgiving meal was shared between Plymouth, Mass., colonists and Wampanoag Indians, giving thanks for God’s provision and the Indians’ help in teaching the struggling colonists how to survive.

Here’s a short history, courtesy of the History Channel:

In September 1620, a small ship called the Mayflower left Plymouth, England, carrying 102 passengers—an assortment of religious separatists seeking a new home where they could freely practice their faith and other individuals lured by the promise of prosperity and land ownership in the New World. After a treacherous and uncomfortable crossing that lasted 66 days, they dropped anchor near the tip of Cape Cod, far north of their intended destination at the mouth of the Hudson River. One month later, the Mayflower crossed Massachusetts Bay, where the Pilgrims, as they are now commonly known, began the work of establishing a village at Plymouth.

Throughout that first brutal winter, most of the colonists remained on board the ship, where they suffered from exposure, scurvy and outbreaks of contagious disease. Only half of the Mayflower’s original passengers and crew lived to see their first New England spring. In March, the remaining settlers moved ashore, where they received an astonishing visit from an Abenaki Indian who greeted them in English. Several days later, he returned with another Native American, Squanto, a member of the Pawtuxet tribe who had been kidnapped by an English sea captain and sold into slavery before escaping to London and returning to his homeland on an exploratory expedition. Squanto taught the Pilgrims, weakened by malnutrition and illness, how to cultivate corn, extract sap from maple trees, catch fish in the rivers and avoid poisonous plants. He also helped the settlers forge an alliance with the Wampanoag, a local tribe, which would endure for more than 50 years and tragically remains one of the sole examples of harmony between European colonists and Native Americans.

In November 1621, after the Pilgrims’ first corn harvest proved successful, Governor William Bradford organized a celebratory feast and invited a group of the fledgling colony’s Native American allies, including the Wampanoag chief Massasoit. Now remembered as American’s “first Thanksgiving”—although the Pilgrims themselves may not have used the term at the time—the festival lasted for three days. While no record exists of the historic banquet’s exact menu, the Pilgrim chronicler Edward Winslow wrote in his journal that Governor Bradford sent four men on a “fowling” mission in preparation for the event, and that the Wampanoag guests arrived bearing five deer. Historians have suggested that many of the dishes were likely prepared using traditional Native American spices and cooking methods. Because the Pilgrims had no oven and the Mayflower’s sugar supply had dwindled by the fall of 1621, the meal did not feature pies, cakes or other desserts, which have become a hallmark of contemporary celebrations.

The Thanksgiving holiday is literally a celebration of “one of the sole examples of harmony between European colonists and Native Americans.” But progressive iconoclasts need to rewrite the history of great American traditions to advance an ideology of oppression that demands government action to address perceived inequalities. So Thanksgiving must be rewritten to be a problematic celebration of “genocide” that Americans should feel bad about.

No thanks. (For more from “Student Groups Claim Thanksgiving Is ‘Celebration’ of ‘Ongoing Genocide.’ History Says LOL” please click HERE)

Avenatti Won’t Face Felony Domestic Violence Charges

By ABC News. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file a felony case against attorney Michael Avenatti on domestic violence allegations and instead the case is being considered as a possible misdemeanor.

Avenatti was arrested last week in Los Angeles and booked on suspicion of domestic partner violence.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Has Declined to File a Felony Case Against Attorney Michael Avenatti

By The Daily Caller. More details have emerged in the alleged domestic abuse incident between lawyer-turned-potential presidential candidate Michael Avenatti and a former girlfriend.

Mareli Miniutti, 24, an actress who most recently appeared in “Ocean’s Eight,” detailed an alleged altercation in court documents that led to Avenatti getting arrested on felony domestic abuse and released on $50,000 bail last Wednesday.

Court documents show that Avenatti allegedly called Miniutti an “ungrateful bitch,” according to The Daily Beast.

He also allegedly told her not to “disrespect” him and the situation became violent. Avenatti allegedly pulled her out of bed by her wrist and then confiscated her phone while she was trying to call for help. He also allegedly dragged her across the apartment and pulled her back into the apartment when she tried going to a neighbor for help, the Washington Examiner reported. U.S. Judge Aids in the Horrifying Normalization of Female Genital Mutilation

U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman continues his complicity in the torture of young girls with his dismissal of female genital mutilation charges against multiple doctors who engaged in the barbaric practice.

Violent misogynists have found a friend in Friedman, who continues to make a mockery of the law and bends to the will of the defense attorneys in one of the ugliest ongoing battles in the country. In this historic case, two Michigan doctors stand accused of heading a conspiracy involving six other people for a dozen years to mutilate the genitals of at least nine girls. Although 27 states already have state laws completely banning FGM, the “doctors” are being charged for breaking the federal law that specifically protects minors from FGM.

Judge Friedman is ruling that transporting minors across state lines with the specific intention of soliciting the services of professional torture artists is not covered by the Commerce Clause, and thus, federal law should be stricken down. . .

FGM is slowly invading America, with the rate of girls and women subjected to FGM having tripled in the past three decades, predominately in California, New York, and Minnesota. Interestingly, Minnesota just elected a congresswoman who was one of only four state representatives to vote against a state law that made FGM a felony. Her name is Ilhan Omar.

On its face, the continued rationale of Friedman’s rulings, from removing three mothers who knowingly tricked their daughters into traveling to force them to undergo FGM from the case to now trying to strike down the 22-year-old federal law under the absurd claim that Congress lacks constitutional authority to prohibit professional torture, specifically the kind that pushed at least a handful of minors across state lines, is patently absurd.
