Outrage Follows After Samantha Bee Launches Profane On-Air Attack on Ivanka Trump

Comedian Samantha Bee is receiving significant backlash for a profane and derogatory attack aimed at President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, during a monologue on her TBS show “Full Frontal.”

Bee began the segment by criticizing current U.S. immigration policy that separates undocumented children from their parents.

“We’re going to talk about racism, and I just popped an Ambien so everyone buck up!” Bee told the audience.

She then turned her attention to a photo Ivanka had posted to Instagram of her son, Theodore.

Various media figures had already characterized the photo as insensitive and heartless in light of Trump’s immigration policy.

Bee took the criticism a step further, resorting to vulgar and personal attacks against the first daughter.

“You know Ivanka, that’s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad’s immigration practices you feckless c***,” she said. “He listens to you, put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to f***ing stop it.”

Various media figures agreed that Bee went too far.

“To me, it was so jarring,” said NBC’s Megyn Kelly. “It was so jarring. To me, hate is hate, and I think she should be condemned for it, too. It’s not to word police. It’s just hate is hate is hate.”

Kelly also argued that Bee deserves to be condemned for her comment, just as comedian Roseanne Barr has been for her racially charged comment about a former Obama administration official.

CNN’s Poppy Harlow called Bee’s comments “over the line,” and “incredibly offensive.”

“It’s never OK to say that about someone,” Harlow said.

People on social media reacted as well, calling out the entertainment media for its double standard in light of Barr’s firing from ABC this week.

“Roseanne deserved to get fired for her comment,” wrote one social media user. “Samantha Bee called Ivanka a ‘c-‘ on air and Keith Olbermann routinely calls the President a ‘motherf***er’ Do you think either will get fired? Maybe see why so many Americans think there’s a double standard for liberals.”

“If this statement had been addressed to a child of a former president, Samantha Bee would be out of a job,” wrote another.

Bee’s segment attacking Ivanka has now been removed from the show’s official YouTube account.

Miracle: Baby Escapes Death at Mississippi’s Only Abortion Clinic

On Wednesday, a miracle happened: a pregnant woman walked into Mississippi’s only abortion clinic and left with her baby girl delivered and unharmed.

Jackson Women’s Health Organization is Mississippi’s only abortion clinic in the state. . .

A pregnant Mississippi woman, who remains unnamed for privacy reasons, came into the facility and unexpectedly went into labor while she was waiting for an ultrasound to see how far along she was in her pregnancy, says the clinic’s director, Shannon Brewer.

Since the woman was already pregnant, the only logical reason she was at the abortion clinic was presumably because she was considering abortion. Inquiring about contraception and pregnancy testing, which are the only two other services offered, when pregnant, is nonsensical.

Transgender ‘Woman’ Tries to Join Female Gym. Then This Happens.

On Monday, in Wellington, New Zealand, a transgender woman who hasn’t had the gynecological surgery to look like a woman was turned away from a women’s gym he wanted to join. . .

Mansell told the NZ Herald, “I talked to a lady there who launched straight into questions. She said, ‘I’m sorry, I’m gonna have to ask you if you are transgender.’ I thought that was inappropriate. She said it was the company’s policy that transgender people are medically authenticated.”

Mansell wrote on Facebook, “ONLY allowed in (for free tour) AFTER I GET THE OP!! I’ll just wait 60+ years then…?” Mansell claimed he “was told ‘it’s company policy that all trans people have a medical confirmed srs (sex reassignment) op before being allowed in the GYM.’” . . .

Mansell complained that his birth certificate should have been enough, as it reflected his choice of gender. . .

Cherie Cooper, area manager for Revive Fitness, stated:

We would firstly like to apologize for any harm our current policy has caused. The policy has been in place for a long time, but we acknowledge that this is no defense, and however unintentional it may have been we accept that it may be hurtful to those who are excluded by it. We know that this is a sensitive matter, and to that end as a business we are urgently reaching out to organizations within the Wellington GLBTI community for guidance and advice to review our policy and ensure that our gyms are a safe and comfortable environment, and an inclusive and understanding community for all women.

Harvey Weinstein Indicted on Rape Charges

Hours after Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer said the producer would not testify before a grand jury, the same panel has now indicted the disgraced Oscar winner on two sets of rape charges and a sex crime charge.

“A Grand Jury has voted to indict Harvey Weinstein on charges of Rape in the First and Third Degrees, and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree,” Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. said this afternoon. On Friday, Weinstein did the perp walk after surrendering himself to the NYPD. He was arrested and charged with two counts of rape (one involving force) as well as a criminal sexual act in the first degree, for alleged assaults against two women that occurred in 2013 and 2004 — the same charges the indictment just slapped down.

While the D.A. has been pecked at for moving too slow on the material the NYPD handed over against the much accused Weinstein, the grand jury has quietly been sitting for several weeks and issuing subpoenas. That process has now been unleashed.

“This indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged,” Vance said of the latest legal move against the producer. “Our office will try this case not in the press, but in the courtroom where it belongs. The defendant’s recent assault on the integrity of the survivors and the legal process is predictable. Planned Parenthood Is Accomplice to Sex Abuse

Headlines about sex abuse, sex abusers and their victims have flooded American media in recent months, with Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein and others abruptly on defense, fighting for their businesses, their careers and even their freedom. . .

The pro-life activists at Live Action have released a report titled “Aiding Abusers: Planned Parenthood’s cover-up of child sexual abuse,” accompanied by a series of videos.

The report and videos document cases in which sex-abuse victims have been taken to Planned Parenthood for an abortion by their attackers and, stunningly, then returned to the care of their attackers. . .

Live Action explains: “Through the Time’s Up and Me Too movements, America is calling for an end to sexual abuse in every institution. But few are calling out one of America’s biggest accomplices to sexual abuse, even though there is widespread documentation of decades-long systemic sexual abuse cover up behind its doors.

“The group is Planned Parenthood and they are tax funded. Planned Parenthood claims that sexual assault victims come to their facilities on a daily basis. Dem Lawmakers Move to Restrict Christians’ Right to Oppose Homosexuality

A new bill being proposed by Democrats would amend the Religious Freedom Restoration Act from “being used to justify discrimination against people, including gay, lesbian and transgender citizens,” The Washington Post reports, leading to fears that religious organizations could be restricted from opposing homosexuality.

The new law would be called the Do No Harm Act, and its purported aim is to amend the 25-year-old RFRA so that religious injunctions on homosexuality could not be considered under it.

“The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, commonly referred to as RFRA, was popular among lawmakers in both parties when it was enacted in 1993. Initially, it was usually referenced in cases involving practitioners of minority religions, such as Sikhs and Muslims seeking the right to wear their religious headgear in their driver’s license photos,” The Post reported last Tuesday. . .

The bill is unlikely to pass, given that the GOP controls the House, Senate and 1600 Pennsylvania, but it gives a disturbing glimpse into how the Democrats plan to attack the First Amendment and religion in the courts. . .

At least speaking as a Christian, the Bible is fairly clear on homosexuality and transgender issues. Whether or not you yourself as a believer choose to follow those strictures is your own choice, but there’s no denying that they are in there and they’re constitutionally-protected. Starbucks’ ‘Everyone Invited’ Policy Floods Stores With Homeless, Used Needles

After a Starbucks manager in Philadelphia screwed up big league and had two men arrested while they were waiting for a friend because they wanted to use the bathroom without making a purchase, the Seattle coffee giant has decided the best way to rectify this is to turn the restaurant’s bathrooms into public lavatories, free for everyone. . .

Other people were probably more adept at guessing what the problems created by this might be. And, as it turns out, the Wall Street Journal managed to chronicle some of the issues — including drug needles, drug needles, and even more drug needles. . .

“Drug use wasn’t happening in the bathroom every day, but it was definitely something that was happening once a week. The cops were called a lot,” said Darrion Sjoquist, a 21-year-old former barista who worked in one of the chain’s Seattle stores two years ago.

He describes getting pricked by a needle once while taking out the trash. At the time, it was bad enough that other Seattle Starbucks employees “asked Starbucks to install Sharps containers — the kind of locked boxes found in doctors’ offices — in the bathrooms, to encourage drug users to properly dispose of their needles.”

As Starbucks Closes for Bias Training, Black-Owned Coffee Shops Open Their Doors Wider

By NBC News. In nearly a decade of owning coffee shops in the city, Blew Kind has learned the rhythms of East Kensington, her working-class neighborhood that has felt the strain of the opioid crisis and the pull of gentrification.

Once in a while, people come into her business, Franny Lou’s Porch, just to use the bathroom, or they sit down without ordering anything. Kind, 30, offers them water and allows them to linger. . .

The welcoming vibe at Franny Lou’s, where lattes are named after historic leaders of color, presents a stark contrast to the incident that unfolded in a Starbucks a few miles away last month, when two black men were arrested after a white manager called police on them as they waited for a business associate.

The arrests spurred protests against Starbucks and the Philadelphia police, as well as calls for the city’s coffee drinkers to support small, black-owned coffee shops instead. Franny Lou’s customers shared stories on social media about how Kind offered a “safe space”; one patron left a handwritten note: “I’d rather give my coins to Blew & crew than racist Starbucks.”

Now, as Starbucks plans to close more than 8,000 locations across the country on Tuesday afternoon for “racial-bias education” for the staff — which could cost the Seattle-based coffee chain an estimated $12 million in revenue — owners of small coffee shops from Philadelphia to Sacramento, California, see both a financial opportunity and a chance to emphasize their value to the community. On the same day, Kind and other black owners of Philadelphia coffee shops will take part in a roundtable discussion at Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse to promote inclusivity and racial justice. Bakery Fires Employees After Refusing to Serve Black Woman After Hours

A Portland, Ore., bakery caved to a disgruntled customer’s allegations of racism and fired two employees after they wouldn’t serve a customer because the shop was closed.

Back to Eden Bakery sent multiple apologies and public statements admitting it’s racist because it refused to serve a black woman who entered the shop after hours and asked to buy a pastry despite that the shop had closed.

The incident occurred in early May and is now circulating in the news, garnering a strong public response on Facebook and social media. A woman named only as “Lillian” entered the bakery at 9:06 p.m. after the shop had already closed, according to the bakeshop’s Facebook post about the event. Confusion arose because the shop was unusually busy for the late hour and there were still a few customers in line who the shop agreed to serve but who’d been informed the shop was officially closed. The lighted “Open” sign had been turned off.

After the bakeshop employees informed Lillian that they were officially closed and they could serve no more customers, Lillian video recorded the experience and claimed the bakery was racist because it served the two white women who had arrived at the shop earlier, but refused to serve her.

In a public statement of apology, bakery co-owner and general manager John Blomgren described the event as “absolutely egregious” and stated the shop had fired the two employees who had informed Lillian they could not serve her because the shop was closed. “We are doing business in a gentrified neighborhood in a racist city within a racist state of a racist country,” Blomgren wrote in the Facebook post, noting the incident reveals the shop has more work to do to dismantle racism. Transgender Prisoners Are Now Housed Based on ‘Identity’

Transgender prisoners in Connecticut can now live with other inmates according to their gender identity rather than their biological sex, marking a departure from federal law and other state laws mandating that prisoners are housed according to biology.

The change comes after Connecticut authorities held a teen prisoner in an adult women’s prison because its policies regarding transgender housing was uncertain, according to Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy’s criminal justice undersecretary Mike Lawlor, Newsweek reported.

“It sets as the presumptive standard that transgender women are housed with women and transgender men are housed with men, which is in stark contrast to laws in other states and at the federal level,” GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) director Jennifer Levi told Newsweek, applauding the law.

Connecticut has already begun allowing transgender prisoners to be housed with members of their preferred sex in an effort to prepare for and smooth the transition to the law’s stipulations set to take effect July 1, 2018.

“They will, of course, have to continue to train prison officials to ensure compliance with the law given pervasive misunderstandings about transgender people’s lives,” Levi added, noting that prison guards will have to respect the gender identity choices of their prisoners who are suffering from dysphoria. More Disturbing Details Come to Light About ‘Sex Cult’ Tied to Actress, Clinton

By The Daily Wire. In the first episode of A&E’s “Cults and Extreme Belief” series, a former high-ranking member of the notorious NXIVM “philosophical society,” who was initiated into its secret “sex slave” sorority, tells her story, bringing more dark details about the cult to light.

The cult has again come under heightened public scrutiny after the arrest of the cult’s alleged leaders Keith Raniere (whom his followers call “Vanguard”) and “Smallville” star Allison Mack, who allegedly headed up the secret sorority. Authorities ramped up pressure on the group following the publication of an expose by The New York Times in October 2017, which included allegations from actress Sarah Edmondson. . .

After The New York Times broke the story open, Edmondson wrote a detailed account published by Vice in November in which she recounted her nightmarish experiences in the cult, which began with an innocuous invite to a self-help group that got increasingly controlling and twisted the deeper into the indoctrination program followers like Edmondson went.

Edmondson said that sometime in 2011 or 2012, NXIVM implemented its Human Pain program, an eight-day “level two” training program that introduced the ideas of “collateral and penance,” which required you to do certain predetermined acts of penance for failing to meet goals. “For women, penance was largely about calories. I remember there was one woman I saw once on a 300-calorie diet, because of some breach she had done,” Edmondson says. “She was only eating mashed frozen zucchini and tomato stew.”

Things took a darker, more overtly sexual turn when the actress was asked to take nude photos as “collateral” by the daughter of the president of the company, Lauren Salzman, who was also Edmondson’s “confidante” and the godmother of her son. Salzman told the actress that she was going to introduce her to a new program exclusively for women. This was the horrific inner group for which Mack allegedly helped recruit and oversaw, and for which Raniere indoctrinated the women to become his “submissive” sex slaves. Sex Cult Members Detail Leader’s Forced Kisses, Branding

By Fox News. . .Fellow former member Mark Vicente, also interviewed in the episode, goes to explain that the leader persuaded female members that they needed to have sex with him “for their growth,” and notes that some even signed lifelong pledges to own sleep with him for the rest of their lives. Raniere also cajoled each member into “kissing him on the lips” as part of the indoctrination process.

Scam artist and chieftain of the cult, the now 57-year-old Raniere developed NXIVM as a “self-help course” in 1998, and went on make millions – offering followers a unique opportunity to develop the mechanisms necessary to make a mark on the world.
