This Activity Could Be Just as Potent as Medication in Relieving Depression, Study Finds

We’ve all heard about the “runner’s high” — but could that exercise-induced euphoria be as effective as antidepressants?

A new study from Vrije University in Amsterdam compared the effects of antidepressants and running on anxiety, depression and overall health during a 16-week period.

The study included 141 patients who had depression and/or anxiety. They were given the option to choose to take SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressants or to participate in group-based running therapy for a 16-week period, according to a press release from the university. . .

The results of the study, published in the Journal of Affective Disorders and presented at the ECNP Congress in Barcelona this weekend, showed that running and medications offer about the same benefits for mental health.

Disney Blasted With Allegations of Discrimination After Outright Horrendous Treatment of Autistic Man

. . .Meet Bryce, an autistic man with the mindset of a five-year-old who has a love for Disney Princesses. The problem is they allegedly don’t have the same love for him — and as a matter of that, this is a pure example of the real Mickey Mouse & Co. (if the allegations are true, of course).

A TikToker with the username @jahsokattano recently released a viral video highlighting her time as an unofficial Disney Princess cosplayer when she dressed up as characters for parties and events. She also introduced us to Bryce’s story — who said he is beloved by all of her fellow Princesses she works with. . .

While with Snow White, Bryce allegedly wanted to hug the Disney Princess but she apparently declined, with the video showing an awkward back-and-forth between the two before the Snow White performer darted away from Bryce. . .

But Bryce’s worst experience came during his time with Merida, with the Disney character allegedly calling security on him after he was following her through Fantasyland. . .

Bryce saw Merida again later on, approaching her to hand her a gift, but as the video shows, she completely ignored him — and apparently called security on him again.

School District Indoctrinates 5-Year-Olds With Celebration of LGBTQ Values

Starting next week, many children as young as 5 who attend Los Angeles Unified public schools will participate in a weeklong celebration of “National Coming Out Day,” which falls on October 11.

The district issued its “Week of Action Toolkit,” emblazoned with a Black Power Fist over neon rainbow stripes and is nominally optional, although peer pressure will likely prompt elementary school teachers to use its programming. Its version for elementary students contains an “Identity Map activity” that “Prepares students to think critically about identity and intersectionality” as well as suggestions to include “brief biographies of an important LGBTQ+ person or advocate to spotlight.”

Monday will feature transgender YouTuber Jazz Jennings, who allegedly claimed to be a girl at the age of 2, as well as the book “Julian is a Mermaid”; Tuesday will feature Marsha P. Johnson, an “American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen” and the book “The Great Big Book of Families”; Wednesday will feature Hollywood’s Elliot Page, formerly star actress Ellen Page and the book “Be Who You Are”; Thursday will feature the WNBA’s Layshia Clarendon, who “came out as transgender and non-binary” in 2020, and Friday will feature Carl Nassib, the first openly gay active player in the NFL, and the book “From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea.” (Read more from “School District Indoctrinates 5-Year-Olds With Celebration of LGBTQ Values” HERE)

Halloween Fun Canceled at School District Over ‘Equity and Inclusion’

Halloween festivities have been canceled at a Massachusetts school district this year over “equity and inclusion” concerns — and the move has left some parents angry.

Leaders from Northboro Public Schools sent a letter to parents this week noting that students aren’t allowed to wear costumes to school for Halloween and the traditional parade through the hallways would be canceled, WBZ-TV reported.

School leaders said the changes were made in order to align with the district’s “core values of equity and inclusion,” the station said — although the district didn’t provide details on how the changes will accomplish that objective, WBZ noted.

The station said the Halloween traditions often apply to elementary school students who dress up in costumes and line up and “parade” around the school halls. . .

Instead of costumes and a parade, the district told parents in the letter that students would participate in a “fall-themed spirit day,” WBZ reported, adding that the parade would be looped into parent-teacher organization events outside school hours. School Investigates Students Who Chose To Use Private Bathroom For Implicit ‘Harassment’ Of Transgenders

After an Illinois school implemented a policy that allowed students who said they were transgender to use the bathroom of their choice, it said non-transgender students who were uncomfortable with the decision could opt to use the bathroom in the nurse’s office. What the school failed to anticipate was that so many students took it up on the offer that the line for the nurse’s bathroom began forming down the hall.

The miscalculation caused the superintendent to say the students were “harassing” the transgender students by opting for the private bathroom, according to records obtained by Parents Defending Education and shared first with The Daily Wire.

“When biologically male high school students came forward and stated they were uncomfortable with biological female students using male restrooms, we told those students they could use the nurse’s office restroom,” Waterloo Community Unit School District #5 Superintendent Brian Charron wrote to parents on March 17. “It was an effort to support those students’ comfort, but unfortunately, it resulted in a disruption.”

“The male students planned to use the nurse’s office restroom at the same time, resulting in a line,” he said, saying that students coordinated to use the bathroom at the same time to highlight how the new bathroom policy affected them.

“This line grew dramatically throughout the day with male and female students, filling the hallway and causing students to be tardy to or miss classes. These actions were not the appropriate way to send a message to the School District. We are investigating this behavior as planned harassment of transgender students,” he wrote, the records show. Child Care Worker Identified as Pedophile Facing Over 1,600 Sex Crime Charges

A former child care worker in Australia was identified this week as an alleged pedophile facing more than 1,600 charges of heinous offenses against children.

Ashley Paul Griffith, 45, of Queensland, has been charged with a staggering 1,623 sex crimes in Brisbane, Sydney, and abroad — including 136 counts of rape and 110 of having sex with a child under 10 years old, The Australian reported.

Griffith’s alleged victims include 91 underage girls he reportedly raped and abused between 2007 and 2022, the outlet said.

He was finally apprehended following an eight-year investigation, which culminated in authorities identifying him based on bedsheets seen in the back of child sex abuse material shared on the dark web, the Guardian reported.

Griffith was arrested by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in 2022, but his charges were detailed anonymously until Tuesday. Recently passed legislation in Australia allowed authorities to identify accused sex offenders after charges are filed publicly, The Australian explained. Tennis Legend Fumes Over Deb Haaland Video With Drag Queen: ‘Pathetic Parody of Women’

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova wasn’t happy with a video showing Interior Secretary Deb Haaland discussing “how places such as Stonewall are important to telling America’s story” with drag queen and activist Pattie Gonia.

Haaland was seen standing with Gonia outside the Stonewall National Monument in New York City in the short clip, which was shared by Haaland Monday on X.

“Is this a joke?” Navratilova wrote in a post responding to the video. “The pathetic parody of women continues.”

The 18-time Grand Slam winner also fired back at one X user who wrote: “Butch lesbians always faced the same derision. ‘Not really a woman.’

Man Known for Exposing Alleged Sexual Predators Killed in Confrontation

A man known for entrapping alleged sexual predators by posing online as a 15-year-old girl was killed over the weekend in a confrontation with a man he accused of being a predator.

Robert Wayne Lee, 40, known as “Boopac Shakur” on social media, was shot and killed by one of two teenagers he confronted at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, police said.

Lee frequently shared videos of himself confronting alleged predators to his nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram and more than 11,000 followers on Facebook.

Lee confronted two teenagers, ages 17 and 18, at a restaurant in Pontiac, Michigan, just north of Detroit. He accused one of the teens of being a pedophile and punched him, according to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

School Teacher Uses Nazi Salute, Says to ‘Heil Hitler,’ but District Claims She Did Not ‘Intend to Cause Harm’

A Wisconsin middle school teacher allegedly made an antisemitic gesture and remark during her class, but she claimed she did not “intend to cause harm.”

A parent newsletter was released called “Elmbrook Community Need to Know” on September 21, which described an incident that reportedly took place in an eighth-grade math teacher’s class.

A female math teacher from Wisconsin Hills Middle School apparently gave the Nazi salute to her class, and then she went on to tell the students to respond with either “Heil Hitler” or “Heil [teacher’s surname].”

After the incident gained traction online, the school decided to send a letter to all families following the incident. The letter that was sent home to all parents was similar to a message that was sent specifically to students and families impacted by the event earlier in the week, according to Fox News.

Fox News Digital apparently received a letter written by Principal Matt Schroede, which was sent to all families of the middle school on Friday. The letter acknowledged that the incident had occurred, and that an investigation was underway. University Announces Automatic Admission With Simple Requirement

Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) has launched a new initiative that will automatically admit local students with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

In a news release on Wednesday, the university — which is changing its name to IU – Indianapolis in 2024 — announced that students from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) can submit a form to receive automatic admission for Fall 2024 if the meet the GPA threshold. According to the news release, the goal of the seamless admissions initiative is to persuade students to pursue higher education. “By eliminating deadlines, application fees or the need for a transcript, we hope this new initiative will give more students the chance to go to school right here in Indianapolis,” IPS Superintendent Aleesia Johnson said.

This fall, students with a 3.0 GPA and higher will receive a postcard and an email with information stating they are eligible for admission. The IPS has also partnered with with Indiana University through programs including tutoring, mentoring and college and career readiness.

After the Supreme Court’s affirmative action ban, multiple universities have moved to change their admissions processes. Johns Hopkins changed the questions in its application essays from reading- and education-based questions to focus instead on identity in order to work around race-based admissions.
