Cruz: Don’t Send Our Daughters to Fight a 200-Pound Jihadist [+video]

“I don’t think we outght to be forcibly drafting women, particularly putting them in a position where they’re in combat. I don’t think that makes sense; I don’t think it’s beneficial to the military,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told Fox News’s “The Kelly File” Wednesday night.

Forcibly drafting women risks putting them “in an unfair situation,” Cruz said.

“If you’re looking at close combat, for example, if you’re dealing with a 200-pound jihadist, the idea that we will forcibly take our daughters and put them in a position where they could be in close combat, I don’t think that makes sense, and it’s not recognizing the realities of combat.

Cruz pointed to recent studies by the Marines that found putting women in combat ended up increasing casualties among both women and men.

“It decreases military effectiveness,” he said. “And the job of our war fighters is to defeat the enemy. It’s not to be this cauldron for social experiments and political correctness. It is to keep America safe.” (Read more from “Cruz: Don’t Send Our Daughters to Fight a 200-Pound Jihadist” HERE)

Watch: Chris Rock Brings Stacey Dash Onstage as ‘Director’ of Oscars ‘Minority Outreach Program.’ What Happens Next May Be the Show’s Most Awkward Moment

Actress and Fox News personality Stacey Dash says she wants to bring a different kind of diversity to Hollywood — and that’s why she participated in one of the oddest Oscar moments.

The former “Clueless” actress has attracted attention lately for her conservative viewpoints, including suggesting on Fox that there should not be a Black History Month. Dash, who is black, also spoke out against people complaining that the Oscars didn’t reflect diversity.

Watch the awkward moment below:

Stacey Dash Explains Her Oscars Appearance

By Maeve McDermott. The Clueless star, who’s sparked controversy by speaking out against #OscarsSoWhite and Black History Month, was summoned by the evening’s host Chris Rock, walking on stage and wishing the audience a happy Black History Month before immediately leaving . . .

[She] Explained why she’s “spoken out about a LOT of stuff that black people try to stuff down my throat.”

For example, I spoke out against Black History Month. (Why should there be such a thing? Haven’t we had more than just one month’s worth of accomplishments? Hear my thoughts HERE.) Plus, I spoke out against the #OscarsSoWhite controversy HERE. My take? We need to stop complaining about white people oppressing us, we shouldn’t boycott the Oscars, and we need to support Chris Rock the host.

And then told us why she was invited onstage (well, kinda).

Which brings me to the joke. When they added ME to increase the diversity, I’m sure many black people rolled their eyes. I’m not “black enough,” they say. But guess what? I’ve heard that all my life. I would rather be a free thinking, black than a cookie cutter black who thinks – and votes – just like all my friends.

Ohio Pastor Shot and Killed During Sunday Service

Photo Credit: Dayton Daily News Archive An Ohio pastor with deep roots in the Dayton community was shot and killed at his church, and police have taken his brother into custody for the slaying.

Dayton police say 70-year-old William B. Schooler was shot around 12:30 p.m. Sunday while in his office at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church.

According to CBS affiliate WHIO, witnesses said the shooting happened at the pulpit while the choir was singing. However, police have reported that Schooler was not in the pulpit when he was attacked.

His brother, 68-year-old Daniel Gregory Schooler, was in Montgomery County jail Sunday. Police Sgt. Richard Blommel says he’ll face a murder charge Monday.

WHIO reports that back in 2001, Daniel was charged with felonious assault with a firearm specification and carrying a concealed weapon, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas court records. (Read more from “Ohio Pastor Shot and Killed During Sunday Service” HERE)

Watch The Moment Bill Clinton Totally Loses It Over 1 Question These Protesters Ask About Hillary

Former President Bill Clinton became angry when he was heckled by protesters during a campaign event in Bluffton, South Carolina on Friday.

The protesters demanded to know if his wife Hillary Clinton lied about the four American deaths that occurred during the attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012.

A man claiming to be a military veteran began talking about the Veterans Administration and the former president appeared to grow impatient with the man.

“What do you think should be done with the VA?” Clinton asked.

The man responded that he’s seen Gold Star families “who have mourned.” (Read more from “Watch the Moment Bill Clinton Totally Loses It Over 1 Question These Protesters Ask About Hillary” HERE)

Horrifying: Former Abortionist Uses Medical Animations to Show What Happens to Baby and Mother During Abortion

Photo Credit: BreitbartPro-life organization Live Action is showing a video series in which a former abortionist uses medical animations to reveal the harsh reality of abortion for both mother and baby.

The group’s goal is to cut through the pro-abortion rhetoric that speaks of “tissue masses,” “clumps of cells,” and “products of conception,” especially at a time when abortion has become a major issue in the 2016 election.

The video below features former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino – who performed more than 1,200 abortions – using accurate medical depictions of what happens during the abortion procedure. No graphic photos of real babies are used in the series.

“I’d like to challenge the abortion lobby – Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the rest – to respond to these videos,” Lila Rose said during a web conference for media Tuesday. “After seeing the videos, most people would have a difficult time telling a woman that abortion is ‘health care’ or ‘empowering,’”

Rose, president of Live Action, said her group’s nine years of video investigations have led to the realization that most of the general public is uninformed about what happens during an abortion. Abortion Clinics Are Closing at a Record Pace

Abortion access in the U.S. has been vanishing at the fastest annual pace on record, propelled by Republican state lawmakers’ push to legislate the industry out of existence. Since 2011, at least 162 abortion providers have shut or stopped offering the procedure, while just 21 opened.

At no time since before 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion, has a woman’s ability to terminate a pregnancy been more dependent on her zip code or financial resources to travel. The drop-off in providers—more than one every two weeks—occurred in 35 states, in both small towns and big cities that are home to more than 30 million women of reproductive age.

No region was exempt, though some states lost more than others. Texas, which in 2013 passed sweeping clinic regulations that are under scrutiny by the Supreme Court, saw the most: at least 30. It was followed by Iowa, with 14, and Michigan, with 13. California’s loss of a dozen providers shows how availability declined, even in states led by Democrats, who tend to be friendly to abortion rights . . .

Typically defined by medical researchers as facilities that perform 400 or more abortions per year, the ranks peaked in the late 1980s at 705, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a New York-based reproductive-health research organization. By 2011, the most recent year for which Guttmacher has data, that number had fallen to 553. (Read more from “Abortion Clinics Are Closing at a Record Pace” HERE)

California Triplets at Center of Thorny Surrogacy Case, Pro-Life Debate

A set of newborn triplets are now being tended to in a California hospital, unaware of their place at the center of a complex legal battle that could have huge implications for surrogacy and parental rights.

The babies were delivered several weeks premature Monday night, according to a lawyer for Melissa Cook, the 47-year-old surrogate mother from Woodland Hills who refused the biological father’s demands that she have an abortion. That man, a deaf, 50-year-old postal worker from Georgia identified in court papers as “C.M.,” paid Cook to carry anonymously donated eggs he fertilized in the hopes of having children. But Cook, who describes herself as pro-life, refused to have an abortion, and is seeking parental rights.

“I’m healthy, I’m 28 weeks pregnant, the babies are doing great, the three little boys I have inside me,” Cook told Fox News outside court earlier this month before they were born.

In California, a gestational surrogate – a woman who carries a donor’s eggs – has no parental rights, but Cook is challenging the state’s surrogacy law in federal court, claiming it is unconstitutional.

“It’s an attempt to reduce women to an object, or a breeding animal,” charges Cook’s lawyer, Harold Cassidy, a nationally prominent pro-life and anti-surrogacy lawyer who is calling for a moratorium on surrogacy. Watch: Sonogram Shows Unborn Baby Girl Holding Hand of Dying Twin Brother

Brittani and Ian McIntire of Hutchinson, Kansas, recently got devastating news: one of the twins that Brittani is carrying is not likely to survive. Little Mason has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain. His twin sister Madilyn is healthy.

But then last Tuesday the McIntires saw something amazing: in a sonogram, Madilyn appears to be holding hands with brother Mason.

“He’s only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds,” Brittani told KWCH-12 in Wichita. “His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn’t do heart surgery because of his brain” . . .

“We didn’t really see much, [the doctor] said there’s his hand and there’s her hand, and it looks like they’re holding hands. Most twins, when she’s trying to take pictures, they’re kicking each other and hitting each other, and she said with our twins it just seemed like she was very protective over him.” (Read more from “Sonogram Shows Unborn Baby Girl Holding Hand of Dying Twin Brother” HERE)

Egypt Sends 3-Year-Old to Life in Prison – Then Claim They ‘Made a Mistake’

Family members of a 3-year-old Egyptian boy who was sentenced last week to life in prison say they feel relieved after receiving assurances from officials that neither the boy nor his father will be arrested.

The boy’s father, Mansour Qorany Sharara, has returned to the family home in the southern Egyptian province of Fayyoum after nearly 18 months on the run. He had been avoiding authorities who had previously detained him when they came to arrest his young son.

In a surreal verdict, a military court last week found the boy, Ahmed Mansour Qorany Sharara, and 115 other people guilty of killing three people and sabotaging public and private property during a political demonstration in January 2014 . . .

Ahmed was 16 months old at the time of the alleged crime. (Read more from “Egypt Sends 3-Year-Old to Life in Prison – Then Claim They ‘Made a Mistake'” HERE)

Federal Judge Forcing Christian Crisis Pregnancy Centers Violate Conscience, Advocate for Abortion

A federal judge refused to grant a preliminary injunction on Feb. 12 against a California law that forces pro-life pregnancy centers to advocate for abortion.

…Judge John A. Houston refused to put the law on hold while the lawsuit proceeds, becoming the third federal judge to do so. He indicated during the hearing that he thought the required information was necessary for women to make “an informed decision.”

California’s “Reproductive Fact Act” took effect Jan. 1. It requires licensed, religious, pregnancy resource centers to inform women, with either posted signage or a handout, that the state offers free abortions for qualifying women. It specifies the inclusion of a phone number for a county social services office that offers free abortions through the state’s Medi-Cal healthcare system. The law mandates the time of distribution and the font size for the signs and handouts. It also requires unlicensed centers to inform visitors that they are not state-approved.

The state currently has 150 local crisis pregnancy centers affected by the law…

“We cannot allow this intrusion into the religious freedom of our pro-life members in California,” said Anne O’Connor, president of legal affairs at [The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates]. “If this act is not successfully challenged, then other states, prompted by Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, will pass similar legislation forcing pro-life pregnancy centers to become abortion referral agencies.” (Read more from “Federal Judge Forcing Christian Crisis Pregnancy Centers Violate Conscience, Advocate for Abortion” HERE)
