Howard County, Maryland Approves Muslim, Hindu, Asian Holidays in School Calendar

Maryland’s Howard County Board of Education has unanimously voted to add Muslim, Hindu, and Asian holidays as days in which students will be off.

“This vote is proof that it is indeed possible to accommodate the religious needs of multiple faith communities in diverse school districts,” said Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Maryland Outreach Manager Zainab Chaudry. “Religious pluralism is the hallmark of an integrated and inclusive society. We see that reflected in the Howard County Board of Education’s decision.”

CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial, and a designated terror organization in the United Arab Emirates.

“I am extremely pleased by the Board’s ability to discuss and unanimously agree to seek ways to recognize the diverse backgrounds of Howard County’s students and families,” said board of education chairwoman Christine O’Connor. “We want to do our best to find flexibility within the calendar to provide opportunities for all students to experience all cultures within our community.”

The Baltimore Sun reports the school district has always closed schools on state-mandated holidays and on the Jewish holidays of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah. However, a recent proposal to keep schools open on the Jewish holidays and only allow school closures for those mandated by the state evoked significant public attention in December. Disgusting: Mom and “Stepmom” Accused of Torturing 5-Year-Old Set up GoFundMe Site to Pay His Medical Bills

An Oklahoma woman and her live-in girlfriend who reportedly started a GoFundMe site to solicit donations to help pay for their five-year-old son’s medical bills have been charged with abusing the boy for months, causing such severe injuries that he suffered two strokes.

“Rachel Stevens is the victim’s mother and Kayla Jones is the stepmother of the victim,” according to an affidavit filed in Muskogee County District Court.

“Through forensic interviews it was disclosed that the victim had been tied up, duct tape over his eyes and had been locked in a room,” according to the affidavit.

“The victim also disclosed that both suspects had hit him on the hand, head, and butt with a belt. It was also disclosed that the mother hit the victim on the hand with a hammer. The victim disclosed that the stepmother kicked him in the groin so hard that it made him bleed.”

Family Feud? Clinton Spokesman Says Chelsea Went Rogue

By Daniel Halper. Earlier this week on the campaign trail, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, attacked Bernie Sanders. It turns out, a Clinton spokesman told the press, the Chelsea Clinton attack was not a planned event.

Here’s how Chelsea Clinton attacked her mother’s Democratic rival: “Sen. Sanders wants to dismantle Obamacare, dismantle the CHIP program, dismantle Medicare, and dismantle private insurance. I don’t want to empower Republican governors to take away Medicaid, to take away health insurance for low-income and middle-income working Americans. And I think very much that’s what Sen. Sanders’ plan would do.”

Clinton’s Lead Is Evaporating, and Anxious Democrats See 2008 All Over Again

By Paul Kane. Some leading Democrats are increasingly anxious about Hillary Clinton’s prospects for winning the party’s presidential nomination, warning that Sen. Bernie Sanders’s growing strength in early battleground states and strong fundraising point to a campaign that could last well into the spring.

What seemed recently to be a race largely controlled by Clinton has turned into a neck-and-neck contest with voting set to begin in less than three weeks.

On Capitol Hill and in state party headquarters, some Democrats worry that a Sanders nomination could imperil candidates down the ballot in swing districts and states. Others sense deja vu from 2008, when Clinton’s overwhelming edge cratered in the days before the Iowa caucuses.

Just as Barack Obama’s stunning upset there helped assure Democrats in later states that a black man could win votes from whites and propelled him to victory in South Carolina and other places, so, too, could a Sanders victory on Feb. 1 in Iowa and then Feb. 9 in New Hampshire ease doubts about the viability of a self-described “democratic socialist,” some said. Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Durnil pulled a man over Monday in Indianapolis for speeding. But after talking to the distraught truck driver, Durnil decided to let the man off, not with a warning, but a with prayer.

Rodney Gibson, a 60-year-old man who had just received news that his daughter was dying of breast cancer, was so devastated that he did not realize he was speeding, WRTV-TV reported.

Durnil was inspecting Gibson’s vehicle when he noticed an angel pin tucked into the truck’s visor that was identical to the one he keeps in his cruiser.

The officer told WRTV that Gibson told him ”with tears in his eyes” that the pin was a gift from his daughter to help keep him safe while driving. Gibson then told Durnil about the unfavorable cancer diagnosis.

Durnil told WRTV that instead of issuing a ticket or even a warning, he planned on asking his family and church to pray for Gibson.

You’ll Never Guess What Word a School Just Banned

[The word ‘please’ is now banned.] That’s what Druid Hills Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, has instituted. It’s getting a lot of attention because teachers at the school no longer say please. But there’s a lot more to No-Nonsense Nurturing than dropping the magic word.

Teachers, who are trained in the method, provide kids with concise, clear instructions in an M.V.P. (movement, voice and participation) format that gives students zero room for misbehavior. As children follow the teacher’s commands, they are distinguished in front of their peers. For example:

“Madison is sitting with her legs crossed on the carpet. Alex has joined us on the carpet and is sitting quietly. Jessica has put her book away and is walking to the carpet without speaking,” the teacher narrates.

This positive-reinforcement provides something missing in many classrooms, the chance for students who are following the rules to be recognized. All too often well-behaved students are ignored while teachers focus on reprimanding children who are not. The cycle of negative attention, thus, is broken. Teachers do not negotiate, and they don’t ask “please,” either.

The lack of using the word “please” while instructing children has struck a chord of discontent with some. Yet proponents of the method believe removing “please” lets children know that following instructions is not an option, and that students are not doing the teacher any favors by doing as they are told. Parents Receive Letter From Son Serving in Iraq… Almost 11 Years Later

When David Craig opened up his mailbox a week ago, he found something he never knew was missing.

Inside was a letter that his son, Lynn Craig, sent him from Iraq. On the upper right-hand corner, where a stamp would ordinarily be, it reads “free mail combat zone.”

The letter was postmarked in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Jan. 2, 2016. But then-Lance Cpl. Lynn Craig of the U.S. Marine Corps had returned safely from Iraq in September 2005.

Unbeknownst to the Craigs, the letter had been missing for nearly 11 years. The letter is dated March 14, 2005 . . .

Bill Clinton Sexual Assault Accuser Thanks Donald Trump for Exposing THIS

Kathleen Willey, one of the women who famously accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault, and has said she suffered acts of intimidation to silence her, used a radio interview on Sunday to broadcast a message to other possible female victims of Bill Clinton.

Stated Willey:

I would just like to encourage any woman who has suffered at the hands of Bill Clinton to please try to find the courage and bravery to come forth. Because it’s okay now. Nobody can hurt you now. It’s as simple as that.

Nobody can touch you now. The word is out. You will be okay but you will be doing the right thing for all the right reasons and you will be helping your fellow sisters.

Speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” the popular Sunday talk radio program, Willey demanded that Hillary Clinton submit to a lie detector test to answer questions about whether she engaged in campaigns to silence or intimidate her husband’s female accusers. Klein doubles as Breitbart’s Jerusalem bureau chief.

Sean Penn unwittingly led Mexican marines to El Chapo after meeting him for an extraordinary interview – and is now under investigation.

The sensational meeting took place deep in the Mexican jungle in October and was arranged by Penn, Mexican actress Kate del Castillo and a fixer, with the permission of the Sinaloa cartel.

El Chapo admitted in the bizarre interview to being the biggest drug trafficker in the world and said he sent engineers to Germany to learn how to build the tunnel he would eventually use to escape a maximum security prison.

The cartel boss was captured on Friday in a daring 4am raid by Mexican marines and was returned to Altiplano jail. The double Oscar-winning actor’s meeting with El Chapo led to the gun battle in which he was captured, an official said . . .

The Church Can’t Be Afraid to Denounce a Political Party That Supports Killing Unborn Babies [+video]

Churches must not be afraid to speak out against abortion in the 2016 election, according to one prominent pro-life group.

On Wednesday, Priests for Life hosted a press conference on abortion in light of the upcoming 2016 elections at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The event centered on the question “How political can the Catholic Church be?” under its tax-exempt status and highlighted that “restrictions on political activity by churches are misunderstood” — even by the media.

Priests for Life National Director Fr. Frank Pavone opened the press conference by stressing Church obligation during the election season.

“This is not about the Church becoming a political machine,” he said. “This is about the Church becoming more the Church.”
