Taya Kyle, whose husband, Chris, was the subject of the movie American Sniper and a victim of gun violence, published a lengthy op-ed in opposition to President Obama’s executive actions on gun control.
In a piece entitled, “Gun Control Won’t Protect Us,” posted at CNN.com, the 41-year-old said she has been on both sides of the issue during the course of her life. Kyle said she used to be afraid of guns, but now is a gun owner who is “prepared to defend myself with a firearm, and understand the fear of my freedoms being taken away.”
“Because I have felt, and lived, all of these things, I have spent much time thinking about evil, freedom and not only the world we live in, but the country too,” Kyle writes. “There are many facts and statistics people will use to argue both sides of the gun control issue.”
Kyle points out that violent crime is down significantly during the last 20 years, but due to the high-profile mass shootings of recent years, the public’s fears are up. She observes nearly all the mass shootings have occurred in so-called “gun-free” zones, where the killers know they will likely have the best chance to maximize the number of casualties.
Kyle says there needs to be a better perspective when responding to mass shootings. “If we add up the number of these mass killers over the last decade, how many people are we talking about? Fewer than 40 over the last decade?” she questions. “Do we want to make laws for millions based on the choices of fewer than 40 evildoers?” (Read more from “‘American Sniper’ Widow Taya Kyle Just Tore Apart Obama’s Gun Plan Piece-By-Piece” HERE)
The number of U.S. newborns named “Mohammed” has jumped 100-fold since 1964, one way of determining the growth of second and third generation Muslims, according to a leading immigration watchdog.
Based on Social Security Administration baby name figures, there were only 29 babies born with one of the spellings of Mohammed in 1964. That has surged to 2,931.
The Center for Immigration Studies used the statistics to determine the growth of the Muslim community, a statistic the federal government doesn’t chart. (Read more from “This Islamic Name Has Surged 10,000% According to Social Security” HERE)

In its first presidential primary endorsement in its 100-year history, Planned Parenthood announced Thursday it would endorse Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which will officially announce the endorsement Sunday, also said it will spend $20 million in the 2016 presidential race.
“No other candidate in our nation’s history has demonstrated such a strong commitment to women or such a clear record on behalf of women’s health and rights,” said Planned Parenthood’s president, Cecile Richards, in a written statement . . .
“There has never been a more important election when it comes to women’s health and reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood’s patients, providers, and advocates across the country are a crucial line of defense against the dangerous agenda being advanced by every Republican candidate for president,” she added in a statement.
Wednesday, the House approved a measure that would repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act and strip away federal financing for Planned Parenthood.
Republican front-runner Donald Trump has made his views on Planned Parenthood clear. “Planned Parenthood should absolutely be defunded,” he said in an October interview with Fox News. “I mean if you look at what’s going on with that, it’s terrible.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood Just Proudly Shared Its Endorsement for This Presidential Candidate” HERE)

Patti Stanger, better known as the Millionaire Matchmaker and the star of the reality show that has her company pairing up well-to-do single men and women potential matches, is, ironically, single herself. In a new interview, she revealed her biggest regret: having an abortion and not having children.
Stanger revealed the shocking abortion secret during an interview with OK! Magazine, saying she had an abortion in her late 20s and now regrets the decision, saying she wish she’d had children.
“My biggest regret is I didn’t have children,” the 52-year-old replied. “I had an abortion in my 20s. I was pregnant, and I didn’t have enough money and I didn’t think it was okay to have a child and be a single parent. And now look, everybody’s doing that! I didn’t find the right guy at the right time to have one with, I guess.” (Read more from “Reality TV Star Admits Something Huge About Her Abortion – This Is Heartbreaking” HERE)

By Julia Belluz. The Zika virus, a rare tropical disease that’s causing a panic in Brazil — because it may lead to babies being born with abnormally small heads — has now made its way to Puerto Rico. And experts fear the United States could be next.
Until last year, the Zika virus, which is spread by mosquitoes, was mainly confined to Africa and Asia. But in 2015 the disease made the leap to the Western Hemisphere, affecting more than a million people in Brazil. It’s since spread to Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, and nine other countries. Last week, the first confirmed case in Puerto Rico was reported.
The puzzling spread of Zika is part of an uptick of mosquito-borne illnesses — including West Nile, dengue, and chikungunya — in areas that have never experienced them before.
“It’s spreading really fast,” said Scott Weaver, the director of the Institute for Human Infections and Immunity at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. “I think [the Zika virus] is going to be knocking on the doorstep in places like Florida and Texas probably in the spring or summer.”
The overwhelming majority of people who come into contact with Zika — through bites from infected mosquitoes — seem to experience either a flu-like illness or no symptoms at all. (Read more from “Terrifying Disease May Cause Birth Defects – and Experts Think It’s Coming to the US” HERE)

Devastating Virus May Be Sexually Transmitted
By Derrick Aarons. A virologist at the Bernhard-Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany, has suggested that Zika virus infection is the only vector-borne disease that may be transmitted by sexual intercourse.
The first suggestion that you could get Zika virus infection from both a mosquito as well as a sexual partner came in 2008, when an American scientist contracted Zika in Senegal and fell ill a few days after returning home to northern Colorado. His wife got Zika soon after, even though she had not travelled anywhere far for several months. More weight was placed on this suspicion by research published in 2015 that found the presence of the Zika virus in semen. This Michigan woman must be one of those moderate Muslims we’ve been hearing a lot about. Scratch that, it’s the moderate Muslims she’s mocking. You know, the ones who don’t support stabbing Jews…
Allan disparaged Muslims who claim Islam does not allow stabbing attacks, accusing them of trying to be “muftis” and telling them to “go back to watching Turkish soap operas.”
Throughout the video, titled, “Is Stabbing Jews Haram [Forbidden]?” she notably used only the word “Jews” to describe the target of stabbing attacks, not “Israelis.”
Appearing to compare Jews to animals, she likened those who believe stabbings are prohibited under Islam to defenders of “animal rights – not human rights, but at best, animal rights.”
MEMRI reported that in 2012, Allan told Jordan’s Roya TV that she represented the State Department’s U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in the Jameed Festival in Jordan, a food and culture event honoring rural women.
The video appears to have been removed from YouTube, but you can see it here.
Much like the story last week of the migrant rapist in Germany, the story here isn’t so much about what Lina Allen says, but the fact that she feels so freaking comfortable saying it publicly, on camera… with no fear of remorse. I know it makes us feel safer to think that this mindset is atypical in Islam, that it’s held by only a tiny, tiny, single-digit minority of Muslims.
It’s not.
This is not uncommon at all. But don’t take my word for it. Look to the laws of Islamic countries across the globe. Look to the statistics reflective of Muslim’s views on Jews and converts as a whole. Look at the statistics on Muslims who support Sharia law *(which, incidentally, isn’t all that friendly to the Jews). Let’s even assume for a second that only twenty percent of Muslims feel the way Allen does. That’s still a population that numbers in the EIGHT FIGURES! For contrast, the Westboro Baptist Church only has an estimated four and a half members.
Obviously, active terrorism is not mainstream Islam. Obviously.
But “moderate Islam” isn’t all that good either. Because what this woman espouses in this video, in contrast with even mainstream views in the Islamic world (in Islamic countries)… is actually still pretty damn moderate. Watch the video below to learn more about the myths and realities surrounding “moderate Islam.”

Cpl. Aaron C. Masa became fast friends with a fellow Marine during field training in North Carolina. But behind his buddy’s back, Masa was sexually abusing his friend’s 3-year-old stepdaughter. He also took sexually explicit photos of the girl and the Marine’s infant daughter.
A military judge convicted Masa last year of sexual abuse of a child and production of child pornography, according to court records and other documents detailing the case. Under the terms of a pretrial agreement, he pleaded guilty and received 30 years in prison.
In total, incidents involving sexual assault in which the children of service members are victims occur hundreds of times each year, data the Defense Department provided exclusively to the Associated Press show. The abuse is committed most often by male enlisted troops, according to the data, followed by family members. (Read more from “Hundreds of Military Kids Get Sexually Abused Every Year” HERE)

Last month, the 38 Michigan Senators unanimously passed the Rape Survivor Child Custody Act authorizing courts to terminate the parental rights of rapists upon a rape conviction or upon a finding based upon “clear and convincing evidence” that the parent committed “criminal sexual conduct” – the terminology used for rape under Michigan law – and that the “conduct resulted in the child being conceived.” SB 629 had 9 co-sponsors, including one Democrat and one female Republican. So there were 7 male Republicans who, contrary to the mainstream media, do care about rape victims who become pregnant.
The bill’s primary sponsor, Republican Senator Rick Jones, who spent 31 years in law enforcement said, “I want to ensure that victims of rape are not faced with a custody battle from their rapist. . . . I’ve actually heard of horrible cases where the rapist contacted the victim after they heard that a child had been conceived and said: ‘Get an abortion, and if you don’t, I will be going for custody. . . . I certainly cannot imagine a rapist being able to continue to harass the victim, or have custody of a child conceived in that act.”
Last month, I testified before the Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee on this legislation. My background as a Family Law Attorney helped in explaining why the “clear and convincing evidence” standard is appropriate. After all, it’s the standard used in Michigan law for all other termination of parental rights cases, and it’s the standard set by the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Santosky v Kramer.
I shared stories of women from Save The 1 and Hope After Rape Conception who were sued by their rapists for custody, including Analyn Megison from HARC, Angela Grogg from HARC and her daughter Pyper, and Save The 1 pro-life speaker Liz Carl – a birthmother who had to agree to drop criminal charges, just to be able to consent to an adoption without the rapist getting custody. Additionally, I told the Senators of two women who were conceived in rape, then raped by their own fathers while in the rapists’ care – Save The 1 Vice-President Darlene Pawlik, and Rowena Slusser.
Attorney Shauna Prewitt — one of my co-founders of Hope After Conception (HARC), who was sued by her rapist for custody, also testified before the Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee by sharing her own compelling story, as well as the research she did for her Georgetown Law Journal article, Giving Birth to a “Rapist’s Child”: A Discussion and Analysis of the Limited Legal Protections Afforded to Women Who Become Mothers Through Rape.
By passing this law, Michigan will be entitled to receive federal funds for programs which help survivors of rape, in accordance with the federal Rape Survivor Child Custody Act co-sponsored by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama last June – the only pro-life legislation approved by the President. This law is pro-life in effect because if pregnant rape victims know they’ll be protected from the rapist, they’ll be more likely to choose life. It also provides opportunities for legislators to hear from rape survivor mothers who deeply love their children, and we see legislators for once referring to these children as “the rape victim’s child” instead of the usual derogatory terminology of “the rapist’s child.” So they get to see this issue, the mothers and their children in a whole new light.
Under the federal act, Congress made the following findings:
(1) Men who father children through rape should be prohibited from visiting or having custody of those children.
(2) According to several studies, it is estimated that there are between 25,000 and 32,000 rape-related pregnancies annually in the United States.
(3) A substantial number of women choose to raise their child conceived through rape and, as a result, may face custody battles with their rapists.
(4) According to one study, 32.3 percent of women who were raped and became pregnant as a result of the rape kept their child.
(5) Another study found that, of the 73 percent of women who became pregnant as a result of a rape and carried their pregnancies to term, 64 percent raised their children.
(6) Rape is one of the most under-prosecuted serious crimes, with estimates of criminal conviction occurring in less than 5 percent of rapes.
(7) The clear and convincing evidence standard is the most common standard for termination of parental rights among the 50 States, territories, and the District of Columbia.
(8) The Supreme Court established that the clear and convincing evidence standard satisfies due process for allegations to terminate or restrict parental rights in Santosky v. Kramer (455 U.S. 745 (1982)).
(9) Currently only 6 States have statutes allowing rape survivors to petition for the termination of parental rights of the rapist based on clear and convincing evidence that the child was conceived through rape.
(10) A rapist pursuing parental or custody rights forces the survivor to have continued interaction with the rapist, which can have traumatic psychological effects on the survivor, making it more difficult for her to recover.
(11) These traumatic effects on the mother can severely negatively impact her ability to raise a healthy child.
(12) Rapists may use the threat of pursuing custody or parental rights to coerce survivors into not prosecuting rape, or otherwise harass, intimidate, or manipulate them.
The federal act then provided additional grant money to states who pass this law: “The Attorney General shall make grants to States that have in place a law that allows the mother of any child that was conceived through rape to seek court-ordered termination of the parental rights of her rapist with regard to that child, which the court shall grant upon clear and convincing evidence of rape.” The grant programs are the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant.
We are currently awaiting on some amendments to the companion bill which authorizes Family Court judges to suspend custody and parenting time rights upon a showing of “clear and convincing evidence,” which would then provide rape survivor mothers with the opportunity to get a case filed for termination of parental rights. When the bill was passed in the House to suspend custody and parenting time, 101 Michigan State Representatives voted in favor of the bill and 4 voted against it. One of those who voted against it, Marcia Hovey-Wright, served as the Executive Director of Muskegon Area Planned Parenthood. She certainly showed her true colors in caring more about rapists than rape victim mothers who had the audacity to choose life for their children.
Many thanks to Right to Life of Michigan for spearheading this effort in Michigan — especially Ed Rivet and Genevieve Marnon out of the legislative office in Lansing. You set an example to every Right to Life organization as to how to make this a priority and how to get it done. You’ve never allowed a rape exception in Michigan, and now you’ve shown how to continue this protection after the children conceived in rape are born. One of America’s top media companies celebrated parenting in 2015 with a republished essay from a mother who called her husband’s support for aborting their second child when it was in its 36th week “a gift.”
In the essay, originally published on April 30, an administrator for the support group “Ending a Wanted Pregnancy” told Yahoo Parenting’s Rachel Bertsche that she aborted her daughter, Rose, because doctors diagnosed the child with Dandy-Walker malformation and agenesis of the corpus callosum.
According to “Kate,” these diagnoses “meant there were holes in [Rose’s] brain” and “the bridge between the two hemispheres of her brain didn’t grow,” respectively.
“The doctor said, ‘We expect your baby to have moderate to severe mental retardation; she’s going to have moderate to severe physical disability; she is probably never going to walk or talk; she will possibly never be able to lift her head; she is going to have seizures all of the time.’”
They were also told the baby was unlikely to live very long if brought to term. But rather than letting nature take an unsure course, they decided to take matters into their own hands. In order to get a very late-term abortion, Kate and her husband traveled from Boston to Colorado, for an abortion that cost her $25,000 — an amount her parents took out of their retirement account. A North Carolina pastor has described how a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder walked into a church with a high-powered assault rifle and asked the pastor if he could pray for him.
Pastor Larry Wright, who is a retired Army drill sergeant as well as a city councilor in Fayetteville, N.C., told the Fayetteville Observer that he was conducting a New Year’s Eve prayer service at Heal the Land Outreach Ministries when the unidentified man walked into the sanctuary with the gun in one hand and an ammunition clip in the other.
“I asked him ‘can I help you?'”, Wright told WRAL-TV. “[The gunman’s] next words were ‘can you pray for me?’ When he said that, then I knew everything was going to be all right.”
Wright took the man’s gun and patted him down to be certain there were no other weapons hidden on him. The man was invited to sit in the front pew, then approached Wright after the service.
“He gave his life to Christ,” Wright told the Observer. (Read more from “Veteran Armed With Assault Rifle Walks Into Church – What the Pastor Does Next Is Incredible” HERE)
