Ohio Factory Worker Fired for Recommending Faith-Based Film to Homosexual Co-Worker

Audacity-movieProducers of the recently-released faith-based film Audacity were contacted last week by Chris Routson of Middletown, Ohio, who wanted to share with them his story of recommending the film to two lesbian co-workers and subsequently being fired after 13 years as a well-regarded employee.

“I have had good reviews from my supervisors for the past 13 years at my job, and I have always been outspoken about my faith to other employees and have never had any problems up until the last week of my employment,” Routson said.

Routson was told that he was terminated not because of his faith, but for making his co-workers “uncomfortable.” He was first told to stop doing this after he friended one of his lesbian co-workers on Facebook, and recommended the film Audacity to her on his own time from home.

She didn’t seem bothered by this, but the next day Routson was informed he had made a co-worker uncomfortable and he was to stop. He said that he couldn’t stop sharing his faith, and his supervisors said it wasn’t about his faith, just about making co-workers “uncomfortable.”

Two days later, Routson shared his personal testimony with a different co-worker, telling her “Every new person I meet I want to share the gospel with them and if they still want to be my friend then I have gained a friend.” (Read more from “Ohio Factory Worker Fired for Recommending Faith-Based Film to Homosexual Co-Worker” HERE)

Top Obama Aide Lumps Christians With LGBT Over ISIS ‘Genocide’

isis (2)The president’s ambassador to the United Nations, addressing Islamic State genocide, lumped Christians in with gays and other minorities facing a “death sentence” in the Islamic State’s terror campaign.

Samantha Power, answering a question about congressional urgings that the administration speak out against Christian persecution by the Muslim group, also said that while ISIS is “targeting very specific minority groups,” its goal is wiping out any who challenge its world view.

“On the genocide question, when president Obama decided to intervene militarily on behalf of the Yazidis, he himself also invoked the specter of genocide. There’s no question that the Yazidis, and Christians and Shia and LGBT, and if you find yourself of a minority of a certain type in ISIL territory, Americans, that has proven a death sentence for many. If not a death sentence, certainly a displacement sentence,” she said this week in an even hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

“Having said that, Sunni in ISIL territory are also living under horrific hardship and anybody even suspected of dissenting or in being any way in opposition to ISIL’s rule, you’ve seen whole tribes and whole Sunni families wiped out. So while ISIL is targeting very specific minority groups as such, its monstrous ideology applies well beyond ethnic national religious groups as such to anybody who doesn’t share its worldview,” she added.

It was the latest example of what critics claim is the administration’s reluctance to focus on Christian persecution in the Middle East, and by the Islamic State specifically. (Read more from “Top Obama Aide Lumps Christians With LGBT Over ISIS ‘Genocide'” HERE)

Huge Snack Brand Makes Political Move That Has Many Calling for Boycott

gay-pride-madrid-bannerA move by one of America’s largest snack companies is not winning any love from its customer base.

Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo., announced on Sept. 17 the snack maker will offer rainbow colored Cool Ranch Doritos to symbolize the gay pride flag in a special promotion to raise money for a homosexual youth organization. The company is introducing the rainbow Doritos, which include hues of green, blue, purple and red, on Sept. 20 at the Dallas Pride Event.

Many Frito-Lay consumers said on social media they are ready to move on to other snacks, lambasting the company for the move in numerous tweets . . .

The special snacks will not be sold in stores. They will be mailed to those who donate $10 or more to the It Gets Better Project on the non-profit’s website. The It Gets Better Project provides support for LGBT youth. The fundraising drive will end on Oct. 11. Consumers can also pledge support at the Doritos booth at the Dallas event to receive a bag of the brightly colored chips.

Ram Krishnan, Frito-Lay Chief Marketing Officer, said the effort demonstrates the company’s efforts to promote inclusion. He said the marketing campaign is in keeping with PepsiCo’s longstanding views on diversity. “We support equality for all and believe everyone has a right to be true to themselves and live an authentic life without fear of discrimination,” Krishnan said. ‘The View’ Just Suffered an Unexpected Blow Even After Apologizing for Nurse Comments

theview-913x512Two major sponsors have pulled their advertising from “The View” after nurses across America were outraged by comments made Monday on the ABC program.

Johnson & Johnson and Eggland’s Best each issued messages on Facebook supporting nurses as they announced their ads were being pulled from “The View.” The action brought applause from the nursing profession.

“It’s very comforting to know that there’s someone standing up for nurses,” said Jean Ross, co-president of National Nurses United, the largest union of working nurses in the country. “It’s obvious that ‘The View’ hosts, like so many others, do not clearly understand what we do. We needed to let them know it’s a very serious thing, it’s not just a flippant 28 seconds of conversation, it’s a big deal and it effects how people view our profession.”

On Monday, “The View” hosts sniped at Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson, who on Sunday night as part of the Miss America Pageant delivered a monologue about being a nurse.

Johnson, who was second runner-up, appeared on stage in nurse’s scrubs. She spoke about caring for an Alzheimer’s patient. “I went over to him and I lifted his head up out of his hands. And I said, ‘Joe, I know that this is really hard. But, you are not defined by this disease,’” she said . . .

“Johnson & Johnson values and appreciates nurses and we respect the critical role they play in our health care system,” the company said in a statement. “We disagree with recent comments on daytime television about the nursing profession and we have paused our advertising accordingly.” (Read more from “‘The View’ Just Suffered an Unexpected Blow Even After Apologizing for Nurse Comments” HERE)

‘She Was Alive and Crying!’: Abortion Nurse Quits After Baby Born Alive, Left to Die

newborn_crying4_810_500_55_s_c1Janet Rogers worked in a hospital that performed abortions. After 30 years, she has come forward with her story . . .

Rogers, [unknowingly] would have a life-changing experience working with one late-term abortion:

One evening a young girl was having a very difficult time. I was there with the doctor. I knew even though the doctor wrote this patient was 15 weeks, she was close to 30 weeks. This happened quite a bit, but no one ever said anything . . .

When she delivered this tiny baby (it looked full term to me) she was actually alive and crying. The doctor said to me, “Put it in the room and close the door. Do not enter til the morning shift.” I immediately took the crying baby and wrapped it up and laid it in a room. I then immediately started calling hospitals around (against the doctor’s wishes) to find someone that would take it. None around would take it cause they said it was not viable. I spent many hours trying. I just wanted to leave this place, but I knew I could not walk out and leave other patients without a charge nurse. Til this day I hear this crying infant in my head.

Despite her desperate efforts to get medical help for the child, the baby girl died. Rogers quit her job, no longer an abortion supporter. (Read more from “‘She Was Alive and Crying!’: Abortion Nurse Quits After Baby Born Alive, Left to Die” HERE)

Muslim Student Arrested For Bringing ‘Bomb’ To School. Turns Out ‘Bomb’ Was A Clock. (+video)

homemade_clocksThis story has inspired its own hashtag: #IStandWithAhmed, because in this case, the teen is named Ahmed Mohamed, and that’s important, because I’m not so sure there would be a hashtag if his name was Alex Brownson, Jose Martinez, or John Chung. But hey, I’m just a racist.

Texas ninth-grader Ahmed Mohamed loves technology. His bedroom is filled with gadgets, soldering tools and equipment, because he loves to build new things, specifically technological things. Props, to this kid, not enough teens are building their own tech gear. But the story goes sideways when Ahmed builds a clock with a digital face, and its innards set inside a case. He brings it to school and everything blows up:

Ahmed’s clock was hardly his most elaborate creation. He said he threw it together in about 20 minutes before bedtime on Sunday: a circuit board and power supply wired to a digital display, all strapped inside a case with a tiger hologram on the front.

He showed it to his engineering teacher first thing Monday morning and didn’t get quite the reaction he’d hoped for.

“He was like, ‘That’s really nice,’” Ahmed said. “‘I would advise you not to show any other teachers.’”

He kept the clock inside his school bag in English class, but the teacher complained when the alarm beeped in the middle of a lesson. Ahmed brought his invention up to show her afterward.

“She was like, it looks like a bomb,” he said.

Kathleen Willey Slams Hillary’s New Sex Assault Survivors Ad [+video]

HILLARY-CLINTONHillary Clinton believes victims of sexual assault have “a right to be believed.” Except, of course, if the accusations are made against her husband and could complicate her political aspirations.

In Clinton’s new web ad, titled “Hillary’s Message to Survivors of Sexual Assault,” the candidate claims: . . .

But that’s a very different message Kathleen Willey received in 1993 when she accused Hillary’s husband, President Bill Clinton, of sexually assaulting her.

“She believed what happened for sure,” Willey tells The American Mirror. “She just chose to ignore the plight of all of his victims, thus enabling him to continue to abuse and rape women in the future.”

Willey adds, “She’s a money-hungry hypocritical witch who will do anything for money. (Read more from “Kathleen Willey Slams Hillary’s New Sex Assault Survivors Ad” HERE)

Post Alleging Center City Starbucks Refused to Let Police Sergeant Use Restroom Goes Viral

24905278_BG1A downtown Philadelphia Starbucks is at the center of controversy this weekend after a Facebook post alleging that an employee of the coffee shop refused to allow a uniformed Philadelphia Police sergeant use the restroom went viral.

The post, which does not identify the sergeant involved, says he walked into the Starbucks at 13th and Chestnut streets and asked to use the restroom, for which a key code is required. The employee, according to the post, “State[d] in a loud voice … that the bathroom is for paying customers only.” The post goes on to say that the sergeant asked politely to use the restroom anyway, and that the Starbucks employee declined to grant access.

Officer Joe Leighthardt, who knows the sergeant, was the first to share his fellow officer’s post about the incident, which happened Thursday or Friday of last week. Leighthardt said he personally has been to that Starbucks location several times on calls for service, but never as a customer.

“I didn’t intend for it to go viral,” Leighthardt said, adding that most people who have responded to the post have been supportive.

In reply to Leighthardt’s post on Starbucks’ official Facebook page, Starbucks wrote in part, “We are aware of this situation, and it is certainly not in line with the experience we want any of our customers to have in our stores. We are taking all necessary steps to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.” (Read more from “Post Alleging Center City Starbucks Refused to Let Police Sergeant Use Restroom Goes Viral” HERE)

Penn State Removes Bibles From Hotel Rooms After Atheists Say They Encourage ‘Killing Nonbelievers,’ Gays

Penn-State-BiblePenn State has removed Gideon Bibles from hotel rooms after a complaint from the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) accused the Bibles of advocating the killings of nonbelievers.

“The bible [sic] calls for killing nonbelievers, apostates, gays, ‘stubborn sons,’ and women who are not virgins on their wedding nights,” FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor said in a statement last week. “What is obnoxious in a private hotel, however, becomes inappropriate and unconstitutional in state-run lodgings.”

A spokesperson from the university has confirmed to Campus Reform that the Bibles have been removed from individual guest rooms following an inquiry from FFRF earlier in the summer.

“The decision to remove Bibles from individual guest rooms was made following questions from the Freedom From Religion Foundation,” Lisa Powers, director of strategic communications at Penn State told Campus Reform in an email. “It raised our awareness and we took the opportunity to review our hotel practices. We wish to be respectful of all religions, and also of those who have differing beliefs, yet we still want to make the publication available to those who desire to read it while staying with us.”

FFRF claims in their statement that Penn State officials confirmed to them that the Bibles have been removed from the two university-run inns, but Powers confirmed to Campus Reform that the Bibles can still be found by guests in public areas. According to a Study, Parents With This Many Children Are the Happiest

family_reunion_-_thinkstock1The happiest parents are—drumroll, please—parents with four or more kids.

Parents of large families were found to have the most life satisfaction, according to a study by Australia’s Edith Cowan University. Dr. Bronwyn Harman, of the psychology and social science school at the university, spent five years studying what types of families are most content.

“[The parents] usually say they always wanted a large family, it was planned that way, and it was a lifestyle they’d chosen,” Harman told The Sydney Morning Herald.

During her five-year study, Harman interviewed hundreds of parents from different family makeups. Her findings are based on resilience, social support, self-esteem, and life satisfaction.

Her research points out that parental happiness relates to how much effort has been put into growing the family.

“What is important for kids are things like consistency, boundaries and [to] know that they are loved, no matter what,” Harman tells ABC Australia.

Prior to the study, Harman thought parents with more children would be less happy.

Though larger families may have more chaos and expenses than a smaller family, Harman’s research shows that these issues are balanced by the amount of joy received from having more children.

Her findings show that children who grow up in large families learn independence at a young age and always have someone to play with. (For more from the author of “According to a Study, Parents With This Many Children Are the Happiest” please click HERE)
