6th Graders Can’t Get a Coke at School, but Can Get IUD’s, Other Birth Control Devices Thanks to Medicaid

Middle and high school students can’t get a Coca-Cola or a candy bar at 13 Seattle public schools, but they can get a taxpayer-funded intrauterine device (IUD) implanted without their parents’ consent.

School-based health clinics in at least 13 Seattle-area public high schools and middle schools offer long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs), including IUDs and hormonal implants, to students in sixth-grade and above at no cost, according to Washington State officials . . .

The state and federally funded contraceptive services are made possible by Take Charge, a Washington State Medicaid program which provides free birth control to adults who are uninsured, lack contraceptive coverage, have an income at or below 260 percent of the Federal Poverty Level — or, in this case, to teens who don’t want their parents to know they’re on birth control.

In an email exchange with the Washington State Health Care Authority and CNSNews.com, a Take Charge spokesperson acknowledged that underage students are eligible for a “full array of covered family planning services” at school-based clinics if their parents meet the program’s requirements.

Take Charge added that “a student who does not want their parents to know they are seeking reproductive health services is allowed to apply for Take Charge using their own income, and if they are insured under their parents’ plan, the insurance would not be billed.” (Read more from “6th Graders Can’t Get a Coke at School, but Can Get IUD’s, Other Birth Control” HERE)

If You Changed Your Facebook Pic to a Rainbow Flag, You May Have Fallen Into One BIG Trap

Recently, with the announcement of the legalization of same sex marriage in America, people have been coming out voicing their opinions on the ruling very loudly. For supporters, one of the easiest yet most effective ways has been to change their profile picture so that it has a transparent rainbow overlay using a tool set up by Facebook itself.

Within just a few hours, over 1 million users had changed their Facebook profile picture to include this rainbow image using the ‘Celebrate Pride’ tool. To date, more than 26 million users have used the tool.

While it seems like an innocent way to show your support for marriage for gay Americans, there may be something slightly more ingenuine going on. Facebook users using the ‘Celebrate Pride’ tool may be falling into a trap – a data trap, that is.

Back in 2014, it was discovered that Facebook had been conducting psychological experiments on its users without their knowledge. The social media giant studied how different users moods and statuses reflected what they saw on their own news feed, even going so far as to cater specific content to users to determine how it would effect their own mood.

Now, the rise of the ‘Celebrate Pride’ tool has some users theorizing that their information is being collected again. The thought is that the company is trying to find out how likely a user is to change their profile picture in response to a social issue and whether it is based on previous social declarations or even based on their other friends’ profile pictures. New York Times Forced to Report How Dismemberment Abortions “Slice and Crush” an Unborn Baby

You didn’t need a degree in nuclear physics to know that the New York Times would go apoplectic because Kansas became the first in the nation to pass The Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act. Before I talk about “Kansas Tries to Stamp Out Abortion,” let me offer some examples of the Times’ hot-button verbiage.

Kansas as “ground zero in the war to criminalize all abortions”; “hard-line conservative”; “medically inaccurate lectures”; “duplicitous restrictions on abortion”; language that “aims for maximum shock value”; lawmakers who “have imposed their own moral judgments,” etc., etc., und zu weiter, and und zu weiter.

Just a couple of responses. The first is one we often talk about: the shoe-on-the-other-foot test. When pro-abortion states were busy not only dismantling every protective pro-life law, but also finding a “right” to abortion in the state constitution and coercing taxpayers into paying for abortions, does anyone recall the Times using “Ground zero”?

Hardly. It was the Progressives’ Nirvana where untold numbers of unborn babies would be sliced and diced and mangled and butchered, all to the delight of the august editorial board of the New York Times . . .

The anti-abortion activists in Kansas avoided actual medical terminology in drafting Senate Bill 95, which refers to the banned procedure as a “dismemberment abortion.” The law’s language aims for maximum shock value, describing “clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors” or other instruments that “slice, crush or grasp a portion of the unborn child’s body in order to cut or rip it off.” (Read more from “New York Times Forced to Report How Dismemberment Abortions “Slice and Crush” an Unborn Baby” HERE)

Wal-Mart Mob Wanted to See How Much Damage It Could Do

Surveillance video of a wee-hours ruckus at a Macon Wal-Mart on Sunday shows a teenager race inside flashing gang signs ahead of a mob of four dozen or so people who burst in and smashed merchandise . . .

Some in the crowd also snatched a man, apparently a shopper at the Zebulon Road store, from a motorized shopping cart and dragged him to the floor, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said Monday.

The vandals, said to number between 40 and 50, sprinted down the store’s main aisle about 1:50 a.m. Sunday, “destroying merchandise displays and items,” a sheriff’s deputy’s report of the incident noted.

Floors in parts of the store were “coated with broken merchandise,” the report added. “The length of the store from front to rear was lined with items which had been shattered, destroyed, turned over and thrown about” . . .

The teenager seen leading the rushing horde of young men and women told a Wal-Mart employee “that this was a planned event … to see how much damage they could cause,” the sheriff’s report said. (Read more from “Wal-Mart Mob Wanted to See How Much Damage It Could Do” HERE)

Gay Activists Put up Version of Iwo Jima Photo; ‘Jennifer Aniston’ Posts a Bold Response

The Battle of Iwo Jima was a pivotal battle in World War II when U.S. Marines won the weeks-long assault to capture the strategically key spot in the Pacific island archipelago. Almost 6,000 Marines and Navy corpsmen died and 17,000 were wounded.

The victory was sealed with the iconic raising of the American flag on Mt. Suribachi:

In recent years, there has been an image floating around the internet which was found on a Facebook page that claims to be actress Jennifer Aniston, but is not a verified account . . .

[The post reads:]

“Now… I have nothing against people who are into same sex partnerships. However what I do have a problem with is this F**KING picture. How dare you compare your political struggle to what the Marines & Navy Corpsman went through on Iwo Jima. I get the whole meaning of you winning the “Uphill Battle” but this is tasteless, offensive, and disrespectful to those who gave their lives on that hill. You should be ashamed of yourselves for being hypocritical of those you claim offend your flag.”

American College of Pediatricians Calls Same-Sex Marriage Ruling ‘a Tragic Day for America’s Children’

A professional medical society with an avowedly conservative outlook is making no bones about its position on Friday’s Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage.

In a statement, the president of the American College of Pediatricians called the Obergefell v. Hodges decision a “tragic” one for children.

“This is a tragic day for America’s children,” Dr. Michelle Cretella wrote. “The SCOTUS has just undermined the single greatest pro-child institution in the history of mankind: the natural family. Just as it did in the joint Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton decisions, the SCOTUS has elevated and enshrined the wants of adults over the needs of children.”

The college said that its research shows that “same-sex marriage deliberately deprives the child of a mother or a father, and is therefore harmful.”

Cretella said it was “disappointing only 4 of the 9 justices heeded the scientific findings” in the amici brief it joined in the Obergefell v. Hodges case that led to the legalization of same sex marriage nationwide . . . HERE)

Michelle Obama’s Lunch Laws Are Now Being Forced on Day Cares: No More Treats Allowed!‏

As teachers lament seeing toddlers too large to fit in playground swings, a federal program that feeds millions of low-income children may be overhauled for the first time in almost 50 years, aiming to make the meals at day cares healthier and reduce obesity.

About 3.8 million young children are fed daily through the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which primarily reimburses day-care providers, and also provides food for children in emergency shelters and pays for after-school meals or snacks in areas where at least half the students qualify for free- or reduced-price lunches.

Millions of more affluent children also are affected because at least 30 states — including North Carolina, Michigan, Oregon, and Virginia — require day cares to use the program’s nutrition guidelines to receive licenses. And beyond children, about 120,000 elderly or disabled adults are fed each day in programs designed to spell caregivers.

More vegetables and less sugar lead the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s proposals, developed with guidance from experts. Grain-based desserts, such as cookies and cakes, would no longer be reimbursable, and children younger than 1 would no longer be offered juice. Facilities wouldn’t be reimbursed when food is deep-fried on site, although prepackaged fried foods, such as chicken nuggets, could still be served, though recommendations urge that they be offered infrequently.

About one in eight low-income preschoolers is obese, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey of 12.1 million children enrolled in federally funded nutrition programs from 2008 to 2011, the latest data available. Legislation Introduced to Make Bathrooms Gender Neutral in NYC

Aiming to curb gender bias and harassment in New York City, officials are readying a plan that would require businesses to convert one-person restrooms into gender-neutral facilities.

Legislation is being introduced that would require publicly available, single-occupancy restrooms in both public and private buildings to be designated as gender-neutral . . .

“This is a very important issue,” said New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, whose office is releasing a report Friday recommending the changes. “It’s time to help individuals who identify as transgender to use the bathroom without fear of consequence.”

Eoghann Renfroe, the manager of transgender education and advocacy at the Empire State Pride Agenda, said Friday that Stringer’s proposal was needed in New York and was a common-sense approach to tackling one avenue of harassment.

“Being transgender, it’s not about the bathrooms. It’s that other people try to make it that way,” said Renfroe, a transgender man. “This step is simply just a way to make things more equal for everybody, to stop transgender people on a basis that doesn’t really exist.” (Read more from “Legislation Introduced to Make Single-Person Bathrooms Gender Neutral in NYC” HERE)

Mother of Israeli-Arab Zionist on Master Chef Has This to Say About Her Religion

The mother of Israeli-Arab Israel supporter Muhammad Zoabi expressed pride in being a Zionist as she appeared as a contestant on the latest season of the popular cooking show MasterChef Israel.

Sarah Zoabi introduced herself to viewers as an “Arab, Muslim, Israeli, proud Zionist” from the northern city of Nazareth. When one of the show’s judges asked her to elaborate on her nationality and beliefs, she said, “I believe in the right of the Jewish people to have their own country, which is the state of Israel, the holy land.

“I’m sure that the people who hear me will say: ‘what, have you lost your mind? How can you say you are a Zionist?’ I want to say to all the Arab [citizens] of Israel to wake up,” she continued. “We live in paradise. Compared to other countries, to Arab countries – we live in paradise.”

The contestant also elaborated on her loyalty to Israel, saying she doesn’t have “another state” or “another flag” with which she identifies. She added, “With all due respect to [the Arab] nation, this doesn’t imply treason. I never harmed anyone.”

Praising the Jewish state, she said there is no other country where she could receive the same freedoms as in Israel. She asserted that 100 percent of Israeli Arabs would prefer living in Israel over Palestinian rule, if given the choice. Former Boston Crime Boss Tells Teens Who Wrote Him for School History Project: ‘My Life Was Wasted’

Former Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger had some advice for three high school girls who wrote to him for a history project: Crime doesn’t pay.

The 85-year-old sent the handwritten letter, dated Feb. 24, from federal prison in Florida where he is serving two life sentences, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.

“My life was wasted and spent foolishly, brought shame and suffering on my parents and siblings and will end soon,” Bulger wrote.

He went on to write: “Advice is a cheap commodity some seek it from me about crime — I know only one thing for sure — If you want to make crime pay — ‘Go to Law School.'”

Bulger, a former FBI informant whose case brought scrutiny to the agency, was convicted in 2013 on racketeering charges that included playing a role in 11 murders. He spent 16 years as one of the nation’s most wanted fugitives before he was captured in California in 2011. His lawyers are appealing his conviction before the federal appeals court in Boston next month.
