Upon learning that 90% of babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted, singer/songwriter Leona Lewis said it was “incredibly sad” and “hurts my heart a bit.”

Lewis, a Brit who shot to fame and a successful musical career after winning the X Factor in 2006, made her remarks on Wednesday at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation Gala at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.

At the event, CNSNews.com asked Lewis, “What do you think of the statistic that nine out of ten babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted?”

Lewis said, “I think that’s so sad. I think that’s incredibly, incredibly sad and, yeah, it hurts my heart a bit.”

The high rate of abortion after a diagnosis of Down Syndrome was reported in the New York Times as early as 2007 and has been confirmed by several different studies.

Good Riddance: Common Core Backlash Claims New Political Casualties

All politics is local. So Republican politicians with national ambitions better pay attention to what grassroots parents are saying and doing about the federal education racket known as Common Core. In bellwether Indiana this week, anti-Common Core activists won a pair of pivotal electoral victories against GOP Gov. Mike Pence.

Pence’s attempt to mollify critics by rebranding and repackaging shoddy Common Core standards is fooling no one.

Tuesday’s Republican primary elections in the Hoosier state resulted in the landslide defeat of two establishment incumbents running for statewide re-election. Pence had endorsed GOP State Rep. Kathy Heuer over challenger Christopher Judy. Pence’s Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann had endorsed GOP State Rep. Rebecca Kubacki over challenger Curt Nisly. The incumbents enjoyed the support of the Common Core-promoting U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

These same Big Business elites backed Pence’s ploy to stave off grassroots parental opposition by “withdrawing” from Common Core — and then immediately adopting “new” standards that recycle the same old rotten ones. (See my April 30 column, “Big Government GOP’s Common Core Rebrand Hustle.”) As Hoosier mom Erin Tuttle put it, Pence’s stunt “gave the appearance of voiding the Common Core, while the Indiana Department of Education and the Center for Education and Career Innovation walked it through the backdoor.”

Planned Parenthood Failed to Report Rape of Teenage Girl, Allowing Man to Rape 18 Other Girls

Planned Parenthood abortion clinics have come under fire countless times over the years for not reporting cases of statutory rape to authorities as required by state law. Now, in Arizona, officials says the abortion giant failed again to provide the proper report to authorities about a victim of a young man who is a serial rapist.

Not only did Planned Parenthood intentionally fail to report the rape but, in so doing, it allowed the rapist to rape as many as 18 or more teenage girls, authorities say, making it so the abortion company is partially responsible for victimizing them as well.

According to the Case Grande Dispatch:

Documents obtained from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office allege a counselor at a health clinic intentionally withheld information about an alleged rape from law enforcement personnel, months before others came forward to stop a Poston Butte High School student from attacking more teenagers.

Tyler Kost, 18, is accused of raping or molesting at least 18 girls, most of them fellow classmates at Poston Butte High School. He is being held without bond in the Pinal County jail.

In forensic interviews with Sheriff’s Office sex crime detectives, a girl who says she became pregnant after Kost raped her last year visited a Planned Parenthood clinic with her mother on New Year’s Eve. According to the report, her mom told the staffer about the sexual assault during the visit.

Some of the April 27 tornado victims may have never had the chance to say goodbye. One young man, however, when fear set in as he waited out the storm in a bathroom, had the chance to send one final message to his mother. It’s something she’ll hold on to forever.

“First he said mama, I’m so scared,” said Regina Wood, Jeffrey Hunter’s mom.

All Wood could think to do was tell her son Jeffrey Hunter he would be okay.

“He knew how bad it was, these say it’s going to be a direct hit,” said Wood.

From her home in Beebe 20 miles away from her son in Vilonia, Regina could only update Jeffrey through text on where the EF-4 tornado was headed.

Mom Killed Her Newborn Baby to Save Her Sex Life, Cut His Throat Minutes After Birth

By Steven Ertelt.

We live in a post-abortion culture where the value of life has been degraded in part because human life is now viewed as dependent solely on the wishes of another. When unborn babies can be sacrificed on the altar of choice and convenience, infanticide becomes more easily justified.

Now here is the terrible story of a young woman in Germany who killed her own newborn baby because she didn’t want to ruin her sex life by being a single mother. She cut his throat 30 minutes after her baby boy was born and then went to dance at a local disco.

Nadine Koenig, 20, from Regensburg, smothered her newborn son before killing him with a Stanley knife. Koenig concealed her pregnancy from her parents, gave birth at their home and, after she was arrested, her mother committed suicide. Later she dumped the body of her baby in the river.

Oklahoma: Abortion Without 24 Hour Prior Consent Now a Felony

abortionOklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin signed into law an anti-abortion bill that requires doctors to notify women of the availability of perinatal hospice services as alternatives to an abortion. The Associated Press reports Fallin signed the bill Monday along with about two dozen others.

Republican state Rep. Randy Grau wrote the bill that imposes the new requirements. It is intended to provide an alternative to abortion for women who learn that a fetus has a condition incompatible with sustaining life after birth.

The Oklahoman reports that House Bill 2685 actually bans abortions unless patients provide consent 24 hours prior to the procedure being performed. Now that it is law, “knowingly or recklessly” performing an abortion without that consent is considered a felony.

Tony Lauinger, the chairman of Oklahomans for Life, heralded Fallin’s signing of the bill in a statement to the website National Right to Life News.

“Our throw-away culture today too often exhibits a coarsened attitude toward the intrinsic value of each individual human life – especially the life of a child with a diagnosis of severe or lethal disability – and too readily regards killing as an acceptable ‘solution’ in such a case,” he said. “The least we should do when a family faces the heartbreak of such a diagnosis is provide them information about the positive alternative of perinatal hospice, comfort care, and family counseling.”

Our Baby Boy Lived Less Than Five Hours But She’s Still the “World’s Best Mom”

Matt Wessell is a musician who lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who has shared a story that is touching thousands of people. He writes at https://mattwessel.wordpress.com/ about his son who lived just a short period of time and his wife, who he rightly considers a wonderful mom despite the fact that their son didn’t live very long.

Here is the tender story from Matt as he writes it at his blog:

“World’s Best Mom”

That’s a lofty title, I know. And believe it or not, I know her. Even more amazing (to me) is that I’m married to her.

One might think the world’s best mom would be someone with years of motherly experience and a number of kids — someone who has been doing it for a long time. My wife, Katie, doesn’t come close to qualifying under those terms.

You see, we’re new parents. Our first son, Randol Thomas, was born on Thursday at 12:56 a.m. at the incredibly young gestational age of 25 weeks and 4 days. That happy moment had a sad ending when our baby boy lost his life later that morning at 5:20 a.m. after struggling for hours to try and breathe with what we knew were severely underdeveloped lungs — something we knew would be an issue after my wife’s water broke at just 18 weeks.

So how could she possibly be crowned ‘world’s best mom’ when she has only had one child, who only lived for a few hours? Allow me to explain…

Congressman’s Bill Stops Federal Funds for Medical Centers Targeting Kids Like Justina Pelletier (+video)

Congressman Steve Stockman will introduce legislation cutting off funds to medical institutions that conduct greater than minimal risk research on wards of the state, deny First Amendment rights to parents and wards of the state, and take children away from their parents over disagreements on subjective medical diagnoses.

Such medical institutions include the National Institute of Health, state agencies, medical facilities, and hospitals. This bill would direct the Inspector General of Health and Human Services to withhold funds from these institutions for the aforementioned reasons.

he story of Justina Pelletier, who has mitochondrial disease and was declared a ward of the state over a custody battle regarding a subjective psychotropic drug diagnosis, motivated Congressman Stockman to introduce the legislation.

Lou and Linda Pelletier brought their daughter, Justina, to Boston Children’s Hospital for flu-like symptoms in February 2013. Justina had been diagnosed with and receiving treatment for Mitochondrial Disease, a genetic medical condition, since 2011. Less than 24 hours after being admitted to Boston Children’s Hospital, mental health workers disagreed with the Mitochondrial Disease diagnosis and insisted she had a psychiatric disorder called Somatoform (though there are no fool-proof medical or genetic tests to validate this as a legitimate medical condition).

Upon learning of the psychiatric diagnosis, the Pelletiers attempted to discharge Justina from the hospital. In response, the Hospital filed an allegation of medical child abuse against them. Justina has now been removed from her parents’ care, and has been under psychiatric treatment for over a year.
