Council of Islamic Ideology Declares Women’s Existence Anti-Islamic

Photo Credit: Beth RankinIslamabad – Sharia Correspondent: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) concluded their 192nd meeting on Thursday with the ruling that women are un-Islamic and that their mere existence contradicted Sharia and the will of Allah. As the meeting concluded CII Chairman Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani noted that women by existing defied the laws of nature, and to protect Islam and the Sharia women should be forced to stop existing as soon as possible. The announcement comes a couple of days after CII’s 191st meeting where they dubbed laws related to minimum marriage age to be un-Islamic.

After declaring women to be un-Islamic, Shirani explained that there were actually two kinds of women – haraam and makrooh. “We can divide all women in the world into two distinct categories: those who are haraam and those who are makrooh. Now the difference between haraam and makrooh is that the former is categorically forbidden while the latter is really really disliked,” Shirani said.

He further went on to explain how the women around the world can ensure that they get promoted to being makrooh, from just being downright haraam. “Any woman that exercises her will is haraam, absolutely haraam, and is conspiring against Islam and the Ummah, whereas those women who are totally subservient can reach the status of being makrooh. Such is the generosity of our ideology and such is the endeavour of Muslim men like us who are the true torchbearers of gender equality,” the CII chairman added.

Officials told Khabaristan Today that the council members deliberated over various historic references related to women and concluded that each woman is a source of fitna and a perpetual enemy of Islam. They also decided that by restricting them to their subordinate, bordering on slave status, the momineen and the mujahideen can ensure that Islam continues to be the religion of peace, prosperity and gender equality.

Student Turned Over to Police for ‘Hangman’ Doodle

Photo Credit: Google PlayA junior high school suspended a student and turned him over to police because of a “doodle” he drew showing a person being hanged, his father claims in court.

Robert Bernard Keller sued the Beaverton Police Department and Beaverton School District in Federal Court. Beaverton is a suburb of Portland.

Keller, suing for himself and his son, B.R.K., claims that on May 2, 2013, his 13-year-old son “was interviewed at his school, Raleigh Hills, K-8, by officers of the Beaverton Police Department regarding an alleged threat of harm based on a doodle that was drawn during class. B.R.K. was removed from his classroom and placed in the principal’s office of Raleigh Hills K-8 to be questioned about offenses that he was alleged to have committed. At no time did the officers or school obtain a warrant, contact the minor child’s parents to obtain parental consent, provide a counselor or attorney to the minor child or advise B.R.K. of his right against self-incrimination or provide an advocate who could explain.”

Keller claims that the principal had interviewed his son on April 30, and suspended him, for drawing the doodle. He claims that he and his wife met with school staff that day for an IEP (individual education program) meeting, “and were told that B.R.K. was doing fine,” though at the end of the meeting they were told that he was suspended, “effective immediately, pending a risk assessment.”

Gosnell Movie Raises $2.1 Million to Tell Story of Abortionist Who Killed Babies Born Alive

gosnellmovieThey did it. The producers of the Gosnell movie have raised the $2.1 million they needed to make the Hollywood-style film that will tell the story of the gruesome abortion practitioner.

The campaign reached its goal four days ahead of schedule thanks to a unified effort by pro-life advocates and almost 24,000 people who agreed to fund the movie. Proving its grassroots appeal, most of the 23,471 donors contributed $100 or less while only 72 people claimed the perks from donating over $1,000.

He is the abortion practitioner who killed babies in live-birth abortions that were more akin to infanticide than abortion. The media virtually ignored Kermit Gosnell until the pro-life movement launched a concerned effort to call them out on their bias during the early stages of his trial for murder.

Now, Gosnell is prison, having been convicted of murder in the deaths of multiple babies, though he was accused of killing thousands of viable babies. Still, one report from Gallup showed a large percentage of Americans still have no idea who Gosnell is and what he did. A new crowd-funded campaign for a Gosnell movie hopes to change that.

Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, the directors behind Not Evil Just Wrong and Fracknation are behind the Gosnell movie project. Their made-for TV movie is based on real life Grand Jury testimony with actors to tell the Gosnell story.

Warren Buffett has Given $1.2 Billion to Abortion Groups

May 13, 2014, marks one year since Philadelphia abortion Dr. Kermit Gosnell was convicted of first-degree murder “in the deaths of three babies who were delivered alive and then killed with scissors at his grimy, ‘house of horrors’ clinic,” according to the Associated Press. Gosnell instantly became the face of abortion in the prolife community.

But there’s another, more recognizable face pushing abortion in the U.S. – liberal billionaire Warren Buffett. The so-called “Oracle of Omaha” has donated more than $1.2 billion to abortion organizations from 2001 to 2012.

That’s equal to the cost of roughly 2.7 million first-trimester abortions – more than twice the number of abortions that occur in an entire year in the United States. Unlike Gosnell, however, everything Buffett has done has been entirely legal. But Buffett does share something else in common with the abortionist. Both their stories have been largely unreported.

Imagine the equivalent of the lives of 2.7 million children snuffed out to serve the whims of the third richest man in the world. Most people would say that’s a story, most likely several.

Oh no, supporters will cry. Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other similar groups do more than just abortions. And Buffett does more than fund the abortion industry. But that is the core of his agenda, just as it is theirs.

Kermit Gosnell, the One Serial Killer Hollywood Won’t Touch

Photo Credit: Greg Groesch / The Washington Times

Photo Credit: Greg Groesch / The Washington Times

If what the media publishes daily is any indicator, Americans seem fascinated with killers. We’re confronted with headlines about the likes of Oscar Pistorius, Amanda Knox and Jodi Arias. When the news is slow, Americans can change the channel to procedurals, such as “Law and Order: SVU” and “Criminal Minds.” When the procedurals lag, producers and directors come up with serial-killer-glorifying programs like “Dexter,” which just finished its eighth season last year, or the 2007 mystery thriller, “Zodiac.”

It’s strange to see Hollywood refuse to touch the story of the worst serial killer in America’s history — and to see even an independent filmmaker rebuffed in his efforts to pick up the slack.

Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted in 2013 for the murder of three newborn babies, whose spines he severed with scissors after delivery, and the deaths by gross negligence of two mothers. He was also convicted for killing 21 babies in utero — not for murder in these cases, but rather for violating Pennsylvania’s legal-abortion limit.

Early this year, “FrackNation” producer Phelim McAleer turned to the website Kickstarter to crowd-fund the Gosnell movie you’ll never see out of Los Angeles. However, Mr. McAleer found out that it’s not just Hollywood avoiding this story: Kickstarter refused to green-light his project unless he censored his description of Gosnell’s crimes.

It was only after Mr. McAleer moved to a rival site, Indiegogo, that Kickstarter — which has no problem green-lighting projects like “Incest Is The Highest Form of Flattery” and “Die, Sluts, Die” — pretended never to have had a problem with the Gosnell narrative in the first place. Keep in mind that this same company also rejected the pro-life project “Stolen Moments,” while approving the abortion-glorifying film “After Tiller.” (One of the “perks” for supporters of “After Tiller” was “a bouquet … of colorful condoms.”)

Keep Calm and Take Back Mother’s Day

Photo Credit: LadyDragonflyCC - >;< / Flickr Photo Credit: LadyDragonflyCC – >;< / Flickr[/caption]I’ll confess right up front, I’m a mother, and I’m likely a sap. I did actually dab my eyes while watching the online ad extolling motherhood as “The World’s Toughest Job,” because I believe it is. (If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it here then come back.) The backlash against the heartwarming ad which has more than 17.5 million views by last count, has taken many by surprise. Not me. Predictably, wherever emotions are evoked, cynicism and all manner of sentiment against sentiment will follow. And, predictably, whenever motherhood is raised, a firestorm will ensue. Here’s a taste of it.

Smriti Sinha at Policymic declares it “a little silly to objectively argue” that motherhood is “the toughest” job.

Many others chime in here, ridiculing the superlative “toughest” and the extremity of the described working conditions: no breaks, no rest, no sleep, no time off, no pay, etc. And—suddenly on Mother’s Day we demand literalism from our commercials?

For me, as a mother of six, this is not terribly far from the truth, but can we remember the genre here?

Six Compelling Reasons to Forgive Your Mother this Mother’s Day

Photo Credit: Nic Taylor / Flickr

Photo Credit: Nic Taylor / Flickr

Some women have marvelous relationships with their mothers. Many women don’t. When Mother’s Day comes around every year, these women struggle with conflicting feelings. Hurts, past and ongoing, often cripple our relationships. How do we move forward without getting lost in the past?

Dr. Jill Hubbard and I would like to suggest that forgiveness is the best way forward. While forgiveness can be difficult, here are six reasons to try it.

1. She chose to give you life. When we’re hurt and disappointed, often we compile a list of all that our mother didn’t do for us, forgetting to count all she did. Did she provide food, water, a bed, clothing, rides to school and after school events? Did she make lunches for us, take us to the beach, buy us Christmas presents? Even if she did none of these things, and even if your mother didn’t raise you, remember this: she chose to keep the pregnancy and bring you to light and life. She could have chosen otherwise.

2. She tried her best. Even without knowing your mother, I know this is almost always true. Our mothers—birth mothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers– all came to parenting with their own loads of baggage and circumstances. Some of our mothers were not mothered themselves. They simply did not know how to do it. Some were trapped in very difficult marriages, or were alone without support. All of our mothers struggled with more than we knew as children, and even more than we know now as adults. I think of how my mother led us through years without any family income, her resourcefulness in making our clothes, in making all of our bread and growing most of our own food. While we were often unhappy about our food, clothes, the houses we lived in, our mother did all she could with the resources she had at hand. Likely your mother did as well.

3. She cannot repay her “debts” against you. When we forgive, we release the offender from the hurts and “debts” they owe us. We do this because it is impossible for them to pay back what they “owe” us. They simply can’t. They’re unable either by temperament, by circumstances, by their own human limitations. We’re either stuck trying to exact from our mothers whatever debts they have incurred—-or we let them go. We give the gift of mercy. When we do this, we not only free our mothers, but we free ourselves from acting as judge and jury over them. Those years are gone, and while you and your mother may wish to take them back, it’s not possible. Realistically assess what happened. Seek counseling if you need help with this. And begin to move forward with the wisdom the past is now able to give you.
