Be Calm, TSA Says After Traveler Accused of Biting 2 Agents

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) asked Thursday in a press release for travelers to be calm and respectful at security checkpoints after multiple incidents, one including a passenger allegedly biting two TSA officers earlier in June.

The TSA said they are investigating an incident where a passenger in Denver, Colorado, is facing possible civil penalties after allegedly biting two TSA agents.

The agency also said a separate passenger is facing criminal charges after allegedly assaulting two officers “while attempting to breach the exit lane and is facing state criminal charges for criminal trespass, fleeing and evading police, misdemeanor assault, and resisting arrest,” in an incident in Louisville, Kentucky, also in June.

Both suspects could face civil penalties of up to $13,910 for each violation of TSA security requirements, according to the press release.

“Passengers do not arrive at an airport or board a plane with the intent of becoming unruly or violent; however, what is an exciting return to travel for some may be a more difficult experience for others, which can lead to unexpected, and unacceptable, behaviors,” said TSA Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator Darby LaJoye in a statement. “We appreciate our continued partnership and coordination with the FAA and stand together in a unified position of zero-tolerance with respect to attacks against our employees.”

WATCH: Woke General’s Defense of Pushing CRT ‘White Rage’ Under Fire

The top U.S. military officer in the United States and President Joe Biden’s military adviser, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley is stoking controversy on the right and left after he defended studying critical race theory as a way to understand “white rage” during a House hearing on Wednesday.

Milley, asked to respond to Republican lawmakers’ criticism of critical race theory being taught in the military, caused shock waves throughout the political world that were still reverberating the next day, when he defended it and tied “white rage” to the January 6 Capitol riot[:]

I’ll obviously have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is. But, I do think it’s important actually for those of us in uniform to be open minded and be widely read and the United States Military Academy is a university and it is important that we train and we understand– and I want to understand white rage and I’m white, and I want to understand it.

So, what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out. I want to maintain an open mind here and I do want to analyze it. It’s important that we understand that because our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and guardians, they come from the American people. So, it is important that the leaders, now and in the future, do understand it.

I’ve read Mao Tse-tung. I’ve read–I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist. So, what is wrong with understanding, having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend? And, I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned and non-commissioned officers of being ‘woke’ or something else because we’re studying some theories that are out there.

Whistleblower Document Appears to Show Microsoft Helped Write Big Tech Bills

Microsoft was given an advance copy of major antitrust legislation, a document given to Republican Rep. Thomas Massie by a whistleblower appeared to show.

The document is the original version of the Platform Competition and Opportunity Act, one of Democrats’ six pending antitrust bills targeting Big Tech, according to Rep. Thomas Massie. Every page of the document, which the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained on Wednesday, is watermarked with the text “CONFIDENTIAL – Microsoft.”

“I just came into possession of a document that everyone needs to know about,” Massie said during the Judiciary Committee markup of the legislation on Wednesday. “It’s marked ‘CONFIDENTIAL – Microsoft.’ A whistleblower provided this. It’s the first draft of one of these bills that would’ve covered Microsoft. This begs the question: did Microsoft have this bill and the other bills that we are voting on today before I had this bill?”

“Why would you have to mark it ‘CONFIDENTIAL – Microsoft’ if they found it on the website for Congress,” he said. (Read more from “Whistleblower Document Appears to Show Microsoft Helped Write Big Tech Bills” HERE)

Crowd Laughs at Jill Biden as She Promotes COVID Shots

. . .Jill Biden was dispatched on a vaccination promotion tour this week, and after criticizing a crowd in Tennessee for the state’s low vaccination rate, was laughed at.

According to Twitchy, her appearance “did not go well. According to The Tennessean’s Brett Kelman, she was booed and then the crowd laughed at her response when she lectured them on the state’s low vaccination rate.”

Kelman, in fact, explained that the event actually was missing “what it needed most – people getting vaccinated.”

“It appeared that only a few dozen vaccine recipients trickled through the pop-up vaccination clinic at the Ole Smoky Distillery south of Lower Broadway on Tuesday afternoon, and when Biden arrived at the event, only about 10 were there to greet her. Biden shook hands and thanked the small group, then leaned in close to comfort a teen at the moment she got her shot,” he explained. Financial Giant Bans Non-Vaccinated People From Offices

Morgan Stanley announced it would not let unvaccinated employees or clients into its office buildings, the Financial Times reported Tuesday.

“Starting July 12 all employees, contingent workforce, clients and visitors will be required to attest to being fully vaccinated to access Morgan Stanley buildings in New York and Westchester,” Morgan Stanley Chief Human Resources Officer Mandell Crawley said in a memo obtained by the Financial Times on Tuesday.

Employees, clients, and visitors will have to confirm their vaccination status on an “honorary basis” by July 1, Crawley said in the letter.

Those who don’t confirm their vaccination status by July 12 will have to continue working remotely and lose access to the Morgan Stanley buildings, the memo said. (Read more from “Financial Giant Bans Non-Vaccinated People From Offices” HERE)

Democrats’ Bid to Rewrite U.S. Voting Laws Is Blocked by GOP in Senate; Republicans Will Introduce Election Bill Requiring States to Maintain Ballot Transparency

By New York Post. An effort by congressional Democrats to rewrite U.S. election and voting laws stalled in the Senate Tuesday, blocked by a wall of Republican opposition.

The bill, known as the For the People Act, represented a breathtaking federal infringement on states’ authority to conduct their own elections without fraud — and one meant to ultimately benefit Democrats, Republicans have argued.

It failed on a 50-50 vote after Republicans, some of whom derided the bill as the “Screw the People Act,” denied Democrats the 60 votes needed to begin debate. Vice President Kamala Harris presided over the chamber as the bill failed.

The rejection forces Democrats to reckon with what comes next for their top legislative priority in a narrowly divided Senate. They’ve touted the measure as a powerful counterweight to scores of proposals advancing in GOP-controlled statehouses making it more difficult to vote.

“This is a battle for the soul of America,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. “We will keep fighting until we succeed.” (Read more from “Democrats’ Bid to Rewrite U.S. Voting Laws Is Blocked by GOP in Senate” HERE)

Republicans Will Introduce Election Bill Requiring States to Maintain Ballot Transparency

By The Federalist. Led by Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, Republicans are putting forth a bill Tuesday that seeks to address voting security and fraud irregularities in the wake of a controversial 2020 presidential election, The Federalist has exclusively learned.

The Vote Outcome Transparency in Elections (VOTE) Act would require states both publicly disclose the number of ballots in possession on election night, and mandates all ballots delivered by the United States Postal Service are postmarked. In the build-up to the election, many states changed procedures and policies, which Republicans argued were unconstitutional.

“The debacle of the 2020 elections exposed something troubling: the unconstitutional and unilateral changing of election laws by several counties and states across the country,” Donalds told The Federalist.

“The left likes to excuse these divergences from the Constitution because of the pandemic. We cannot ignore fraud and illegality, especially when it comes to the sanctity of our elections. The catastrophe of the 2020 elections must never happen again, and the American people must have faith in the security of our ballots and voting system going forward,” he said. Nearly 4,000 Fully Vaccinated People in Massachusetts Test Positive For COVID

Nearly 4,000 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts have tested positive for Covid-19, according to state health officials.

As of 12 June there had been 3,791 cases among more than 3.7m fully vaccinated people in the state, data from the Department of Public Health shows.

That means that around one in 1,000 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts are still becoming infected despite getting their shots. . .

The Centers for Disease Control has stated that the three vaccines available in the US prevent most people from getting the virus.

But the CDC has also recognized that there will be “a small percentage of fully vaccinated people who still get sick, are hospitalized, or die from Covid-19”. (Read more from “Nearly 4,000 Fully Vaccinated People in Massachusetts Test Positive For COVID” HERE)

Pelosi Plans Announcement on Select Committee to Investigate Siege of Congress

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will announce this week whether she will create a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, her spokesman said.

The California Democrat told colleagues about her plans during a meeting of the House Steering and Policy Committee on Tuesday, which comes weeks after Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would have created a commission to dig into the attack on Congress.

Multiple news outlets reported the speaker revealed she would create the committee, which would not require GOP support. But Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, quickly tweeted a denial. City Holds Juneteenth and Gay Pride Celebrations After Canceling July Fourth Celebration

An Illinois town is holding Juneteenth and gay pride celebrations despite canceling its Fourth of July festivities.

“My home town of Evanston, Illinois is having a Juneteenth Parade and a Gay Pride Parade, but is cancelling the 4th of July Parade & Fireworks,” said RealClearPolitics co-founder Tom Bevan on Twitter.

The city commemorated Juneteenth after President Joe Biden signed a bill making it a federal holiday last week, holding a parade and musical performances at a local park. The city also has a gay pride parade planned for later this month.

The celebrations come after Evanston canceled this year’s Fourth of July celebration over COVID-19 concerns. (Read more from “City Holds Juneteenth and Gay Pride Celebrations After Canceling July Fourth Celebration” HERE)

Poll: 80 Percent of Americans Support Voter ID Laws

A new poll found that four in five Americans are in favor of people having to show a form of identification to vote in elections.

Monmouth University’s poll surveyed more than 800 potential adult voters between July 9 and 14. 80 percent of respondents said they support voter ID law measures, whereas only 18 percent opposed it.

The findings come amid debates among lawmakers about voter ID laws. Many Democrats have backed H.R. 1, also known as The For The People Act, which would do away with voter ID laws and allow universal mail-in voting. Republicans have indicated they will block the measure in the Senate. (Read more from “Poll: 80 Percent of Americans Support Voter ID Laws” HERE)
