DHS Deploying Big Tech To Spy on Americans Through Social Media

In an effort to target “domestic extremists,” the Department of Homeland Security is deploying Big Tech to spy on Americans through social media and report on whether they might be a threat.

NBC News reported a “sweeping set of policy changes” to improve the way the government collects data includes “the sorts of public social media posts that threatened an attack on the U.S. Capitol” in January.

The FBI and other agencies have seen the posts, the report said, but determined they weren’t “actionable,” cited unnamed senior officials.

“DHS plans to expand its relationships with companies that scour public data for intelligence, one of the senior officials said, as well as to better harness the vast trove of data it already collects about Americans, including travel and commercial data through Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, the Coast Guard, the Secret Service and other DHS components,” the report said. . .

“From the description it appears DHS is going to pay ‘big tech’ (Google, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, SnapChat, Twitter, etc.) via contracts, to hire and organize internal monitoring teams to assist the government by sending information citizens they deem ‘dangerous,'” the blog said. 9-Year-Old Mexican Girl Drowns Trying To Cross Border Into U.S.

In a statement released on Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents confirmed that a 9-year-old girl drowned while attempting to enter the United States by way of the Rio Grande River.

According to the release, “U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Marine Unit rescued two migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande, Mar. 20.” The agents came across three migrants who were “stranded on an island on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande River. Agents found the individuals and immediately began administering first aid while transporting the migrants to shore. Two of the three migrants regained conciousness, a mother from Guatemala and her three-year-old child from Mexico.”

The agents attempted to save the life of a 9-year-old child from Mexico before handing her off to the Eagle Pass Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services. The statement confirmed, “The child remained unresponsive and was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.”

Federal Judge Rules COVID Capacity Limits on Religious Gatherings Are Unconstitutional

A federal district court judge ruled Thursday caps on religious services in Washington D.C. were unconstitutional going into the Easter holiday.

Judge Trevor N. McFadden, appointed under former President Donald Trump in 2017, concluded the district’s guidelines set the nation’s capital apart from the 37 states with no attendance caps on church gatherings.

The ruling comes just in time for Easter Sunday on April 4, one year after the holiday was interrupted by state and local officials who implemented guidelines to ban large congregations. Restrictions targeting religious services quickly became a theme of the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns.

In Louisville, Democratic Mayor Greg Fischer sought criminal penalties for those who even attended a drive-in Easter service before a federal judge in Kentucky blocked the mayor’s power grab. In Greenville, Mississippi, residents who attended church gatherings were slapped with $500 fines in a case that provoked the Trump Department of Justice to take action. Dictator Joe: Biden Promises Executive Action on Guns

President Joe Biden said he plans to take aggressive action to implement new gun-control measures through both executive orders and by proposing legislation on Thursday.

When asked whether he plans to unilaterally enact new restrictions on homemade firearms, provide funding for state and local gun-control efforts, or propose legislation making gun manufacturers liable for criminal misuse of their products, Biden said he does.

“All the above,” he said. “It’s a matter of timing.” . . .

This is the second time in a week Biden has promised to institute new gun-control policies either by legislation or executive action. In response to the mass shooting in Colorado on Monday, Biden gave a short speech calling on the Senate to take up the two House gun-control bills as well as pass a ban on popular firearms such as the AR-15. Army Veteran Vows To Take Open Carry Fight To the Supreme Court

The U.S. Army veteran challenging Hawaii’s restrictive open-carry laws has vowed to take his case to the Supreme Court after losing in the Ninth Circuit this week, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Alan Beck, the lawyer representing native Hawaiian plaintiff George Young, told the outlet, “We’re planning on filing for a writ of certiorari. We’re not letting this lie.”

Beck’s statement came in response to a ruling passed down on Wednesday by the full 11-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit, in which the court rejected his challenge, choosing to uphold a Hawaii law that effectively terminates his right to bear arms outside the home.

According to the Firearms Policy Coalition, the law Young is challenging “requires that residents seeking a license to openly carry a firearm demonstrate good moral character, that he or she will be ‘engaged in the protection of life and property,’ and ‘the urgency or the need’ to carry a firearm.”

Biden Explains Why He’s ‘Flattered’ Illegal Aliens are Pouring Across the Border

During his first official press conference as president Thursday afternoon, Joe Biden was asked about the catastrophic number of illegal immigrants and unaccompanied minors pouring across the border. He responded by saying he’s “flattered” because the people coming think he’s a “nice guy.”

“I guess I should be flattered people are coming because I’m the nice guy. That’s the reason why it’s happening That I’m a decent man or however it’s phrased because ‘Biden is a good guy,'” Biden said. “The truth of the matter is, nothing has changed.”

“It happens every single solitary year. There is a significant increase in the number of people coming to the border in the winter months of January, February, March. That happens every year,” he continued. “The reason they’re coming is that it’s the time they’re coming with the least likelihood of dying on the way because of the heat in the desert, number one. Number two, they’re coming because of the circumstances in country.”

Gov. Cuomo Gave Special COVID Treatment to Brother Chris and ‘Well-Connected Figures’ While New Yorkers Perished

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo reportedly gave special COVID-19 testing privileges to his family and other “well-connected figures” in the state, raising eyebrows since state laws ban officials “from using their positions to secure privileges for themselves or others.”

While people around New York struggled to obtain coronavirus testing, Cuomo and his administration organized special access to state testing for those close to him, a new report from the Washington Post suggests. Cuomo reportedly gave the green light for a “top state doctor” and other health officials to swab those receiving the special treatment at their homes and “immediately” process the results marked “only by initials or numbers” in a state lab, sometimes delivering the specimens by “state police troopers.”

“Initially, the lab was capable of running only several hundred tests a day for a state with 19 million residents,” the Washington Post reported, noting that “employees in the state health laboratory were kept past their shifts until late into the night to process results of those close to Cuomo.”

One of the alleged beneficiaries of this Cuomo-orchestrated prioritization was infamous CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, who repeatedly ran interference for his brother in the early months of the pandemic by joking around on live television and refusing to ask him questions about the rising nursing home death toll that resulted from the governor’s deadly policy. Secret Service Reportedly Got Involved in Bizarre Gun Case Involving Hunter Biden

The Secret Service intervened in an investigation into a 2018 incident involving Hunter Biden and his girlfriend at the time — his former sister-in-law, Hallie — in which she took his gun and tossed it into the trash, thinking he was going to kill himself with it, according to a report.

When she returned to retrieve the gun, it was gone, Politico reported on Thursday.

Police in Delaware launched an investigation in case the gun, left in a trash can across from a high school, had been used in a crime, the report said.

‘Unexplained Irregularities’ Found in Large Percentage of Ballots

A mountainous, 2,600-square-mile region with a population of approximately 119,600 does not seem like your prototypical setting for machine politics. Yet a recent audit of mail-in ballots cast there found irregularities characteristic of larger urban centers — on a level that could have easily swung local elections in 2020, and statewide elections in cycles past. . .

Political leaders and prominent media outlets have dismissed concerns raised by critics that such measures invite voter fraud. But could the election in small-county Missoula call all that into question? . . .

The story at hand begins during the pandemic summer of 2020, when the then-governor, Democrat Steve Bullock, issued a directive permitting counties to conduct the general election fully by mail. In the run-up to the election, a court also struck down Montana’s law aimed at preventing ballot harvesting. . .

Seaman’s office complied with Tschida’s request for access to all of the county’s ballot envelopes, and on Jan. 4 a team of volunteers, overseen by Rhoades, conducted an audit with the assistance of the Missoula County Elections Office. The audit consisted of both a count and review of all ballot envelopes and comparing that to the number of officially recorded votes during the Nov. 3, 2020, general election.

Its conclusions were troubling: 4,592 out of the 72,491 mail-in ballots lacked envelopes— 6.33% of all votes. Without an officially printed envelope with registration information, a voter’s signature, and a postmark indicating whether it was cast on time, election officials cannot verify that a ballot is legitimate. Jack Dorsey Says Blocking Post’s Hunter Biden Story Was ‘Total Mistake’ — but Won’t Say Who Made It

Twitter doesn’t have a “censoring department” that blocked The Post from tweeting last fall, CEO Jack Dorsey said Thursday — but he wouldn’t reveal who was responsible for the blunder.

At a congressional hearing on misinformation and social media, Dorsey said Twitter made a “total mistake” by barring users from sharing The Post’s bombshell October report about Hunter Biden’s emails. . .

But Dorsey dodged a question from Rep. Steve Scalise about who decided to freeze the 200-year-old newspaper’s account. . .

“Their entire account to be blocked for two weeks by a mistake seems like a really big mistake,” Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, told Dorsey. “Was anyone held accountable in your censoring department for that mistake?”
