The Electronic Privacy Information Center long has warned that security cameras in Amazon’s Ring network can be hacked.

The doorbell cameras are part of the largely “unregulated surveillance and data collection” systems that contemporary technology has made possible, EPIC noted Friday. Ring cameras often capture images to which facial recognition software can be applied, the organization has warned.

Now, EPIC is spotlighting a breach of surveillance cameras linked by Verkada, a surveillance company that has services in hospitals, schools, homes and prisons.

The hack of the system exposed video from some 150,000 security cameras, EPIC said.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that in one hacked video, “a woman in a hospital room watches over someone sleeping in an intensive-care-unit bed. Biden: Obey Dr. Fauci or You’ll Be Locked Down Past July 4; Healthy Mom Dies After Second Vaccine Dose

By The Federalist. President Joe Biden threatened Americans to obey Dr. Anthony Fauci’s pandemic edicts Thursday in a prime-time address on the one-year anniversary of the first coronavirus lockdowns.

“We need everyone to get vaccinated. We need everyone to keep washing their hands. We need everyone to keep wearing the mask,” Biden said from the White House, after telling the American people if they follow Dr. Anthony Fauci’s orders, they might get to spend the 4th of July holiday with their friends and neighbors. But, Biden maintained, “that doesn’t mean large events.”

No guarantees were offered for re-opening even as the president pledged every American adult would be eligible for a coronavirus vaccine by May 1.

Utah Mom Dies Four Days After 2nd Dose of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

By KRON 4. An autopsy has been ordered after a Utah mom died just four days after receiving the second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, KUTV reports.

Kassidi Kurill, mother of one, got the vaccine due to her work as a surgical technician for several plastic surgeons, the local news outlet reports. . .

According to Kurill’s father, her arm was sore after the first shot and she experienced no other side effects, but it was when she received her second dose things went wrong.

Kurill landed in the ER, where “she was very, very sick, and her liver was not functioning,” Hawley told KUTV. . .

Ban on 205 Different ‘Assault Weapons’ Introduced by Dems

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Thursday introduced a ban on more than 200 “assault weapons” after the House passed two gun-control measures pertaining to background checks.

Her bill (pdf), called the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021,” is co-sponsored by 34 Senate Democrats and would ban ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds—similar to the bans on magazines in New York state and California.

According to the legislation, which was also introduced in the House by Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), the ban would encompass more than 205 rifles. Feinstein’s bill would allow current owners of the guns to retain possession of them. If that gun is transferred, a person has to undergo an FBI background check before getting the firearm.

The bill also bans any weapon that has the capacity to use a magazine that isn’t a fixed ammunition magazine and has one or more characteristics such as a pistol grip, forward grip, a threaded barrel, a folding or telescoping stock, or a barrel shroud.

The bill “requires that grandfathered assault weapons are stored using a secure gun storage or safety device like a trigger lock” and prohibits the transfer of high-capacity ammunition magazines while banning “bump-fire stocks and other devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire at fully automatic rates,” according to a news release from Feinstein’s office. Former Top State Dept Investigator Says COVID-19 Outbreak May Have Resulted From Bioweapons Research Accident

As top U.S. officials prepare to meet their Chinese counterparts for their first face-to-face meeting during the Biden administration, the State Department’s former lead investigator who oversaw the Task Force into the COVID-19 virus origin tells Fox News that he not only believes the virus escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but that it may have been the result of research that the Chinese military, or People’s Liberation Army, was doing on a bioweapon.

“The Wuhan Institute of Virology is not the National Institute of Health,” David Asher, now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute told Fox News in an exclusive interview. “It was operating a secret, classified program. In my view, and I’m just one person, my view is it was a biological weapons program.”

Asher has long been a “follow the money” guy who has worked on some of the most classified intelligence investigations for the State Department and Treasury under both Democratic and Republican administrations. He led the team that uncovered the international nuclear procurement network run by the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program, AQ Khan, and uncovered key parts of North Korea’s secret uranium enrichment. He believes the Chinese Communist Party has been involved in a massive cover-up during the past 14 months.

“And if you believe, as I do, that this might have been a weapons vector gone awry, not deliberately released, but in development and then somehow leaked, this has turned out to be the greatest weapon in history,” Asher said during a panel discussion at the Hudson Institute: The Origins of the COVID-10: Policy Implications and Lessons for the Future. “You’ve taken out 15 to 20 percent of global GDP. You’ve killed millions of people. The Chinese population has been barely affected. YouTube Censors 30,000 Videos Over COVID Vaccine ‘Misinformation’

Google-owned video platform YouTube has reportedly removed more than 30,000 videos that the Masters of the Universe claim made misleading or false claims about coronavirus vaccines over the last six months.

AXIOS reports that YouTube spokesperson Elena Hernandez has revealed that YouTube has removed more than 30,000 videos that it claims made misleading or false claims about coronavirus vaccines in the last six months, providing the first release of numbers on the topic. . .

Since February 2020, YouTube has removed more than 800,000 videos containing coronavirus misinformation, the videos are first flagged by the company’s AI or a human reviewer. The videos are then sent for another level of review before a decision is made on whether or not to remove them. Was it an armed insurrection or not? Based on liberal media reports, you’d think this akin to a military takeover in Myanmar. It was a riot. Our own Julio Rosas documented the chaos that day, but an armed insurrection. How many firearms were confiscated that day? Well, the FBI’s Jill Sanborn, a counterintelligence official, said the number was exactly zero (via Daily Caller):

“How many firearms were confiscated in the Capitol or on Capitol grounds during that day?” Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson asked Jill Sanborn, the FBI official, during a Senate Homeland Security hearing.

“To my knowledge, we have not recovered any on that day from any other arrests at the scene at this point,” replied Sanborn, who serves as FBI assistant director for counterterrorism.

“I don’t want to speak on behalf of Metro and Capitol police, but, to my knowledge, none,” she added.

Twitter Using Section 230 Immunity as Defense in Child-Porn Case

A lawsuit in federal court in California alleges Twitter allowed child-porn videos and images to remain on its platform after receiving complaints, because the posts didn’t “violate policies.”

The social-media behemoth is trying to get out of the case entirely by relying on the immunity from libel litigation it is afforded from Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act, reports the Red State Nation blog.

The law grants social-media platforms immunity because they are regarded as neutral platforms for the flow of information rather than publishers. However, many Congress members argue, Twitter essentially has acted as an editor by censoring or flagging as “false” certain controversial viewpoints.

Twitter allegedly refused requests to remove the pornograhic content, including of a 13-year-old who was tricked into sharing explicit videos and then blackmailed with them. The videos eventually were removed after an agent of the Department of Homeland Security intervened.

“Only after this take-down demand from a federal agent did Twitter suspend the user accounts that were distributing the CSAM and report the CSAM to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children,” the lawsuit said. White House Press Cornered on COVID Double Standard for International Travelers vs. Illegal Aliens

Speaking to reporters from the White House Thursday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki failed to explain why Americans and other individuals traveling into the United States by air must show a negative Wuhan coronavirus test for entry — while illegal immigrants crossing the southern border don’t have to do the same.

“In terms of keeping COVID out of the country, does the White House think it’s a problem that travelers have to show a negative COVID test, proof of a negative COVID test, when they fly into the U.S. from any foreign country but travelers don’t need to show anything like that when they walk across the border as long as they don’t go to a port of entry,” Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked.

Psaki evaded the question and went after Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

President Biden Forgets His Mask, Again

President Joe Biden again forgot to put his mask back on at an event Thursday, even as he repeatedly calls for Americans to wear masks to stop the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden arrived wearing his mask for a bill signing ceremony at the Oval Office but removed it to sign the bill and make remarks to reporters.

After doing so, the president stood up without his mask to leave.

He put a note card and his mask in his suit coat pocket as he smiled and walked out with Vice President Kamala Harris.

U.S. House Passes Bill To Criminalize All Unlicensed Private Firearm Transfers

The U.S. House of Representatives passed an expansive gun control bill that would criminalize firearm sales, gifts, or loans between unlicensed private persons.

On Wednesday, the House passed H.R. 8, the “Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021,” a bill that expands universal background checks for private firearm transactions, requires all private firearms transactions to go through a licensed dealer, effectively bans persons age 18-20 from purchasing handguns, and contains only limited exemptions for self-defense. The bill passed 227 to 203, with eight Republicans voting with the Democratic majority in favor.

Democrats and gun control advocates praised the bill’s passage, arguing the expanded background checks will help save lives. . .

However, opponents of the bill warn it would infringe on Americans’ Second Amendment right to bear arms and criminalize lending or gifting a firearm to family members or friends without government approval.

“This bill would criminalize every transfer of a firearm unless it first goes through a government screening process — aka, gun owner registration — or unless the transfer fulfills one of the very few exemptions in the legislation,” Gun Owners of America said. “NOTE: Because ‘transfer’ is not defined, even handing a gun to a neighbor could be severely punished.” (Read more from “U.s.
