Democrat Aides Begging for Trump Conviction

By Breitbart. Over 370 Democrat aides banned together and signed an open letter to members of the Senate on Wednesday, begging them to convict former President Trump for inciting an “attack on our workplace.”

“We are staff who work for members of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, where it is our honor and privilege to serve our country and our fellow Americans,” the Democrat aides began in the letter, sharing their experiences from the day of the January 6 Capitol protest. The aides expressed the unequivocal belief that both Trump and his political allies incited the attack — a narrative championed by the Democrat-led House lawmakers who voted in favor of impeachment.

“Many of us attended school in the post-Columbine era and were trained to respond to active shooter situations in our classrooms. As the mob smashed through Capitol Police barricades, broke doors and windows, and charged into the Capitol with body armor and weapons, many of us hid behind chairs and under desks or barricaded ourselves in offices,” they said, detailing their experience.

Trump, they claimed, “broke America’s 230-year legacy of the peaceful transition of power when he incited a mob to disrupt the counting of electoral college votes. They again stated that the crowd was “inspired by lies told by the former president and others about the results of the election in a baseless, months-long effort to reject votes lawfully cast by the American people.”

The Democrat aides presented two choices, proclaiming that people either “stand with the republic or against it.” (Read more from “Democrat Aides Begging for Trump Conviction” HERE)

Hundreds of Democratic Staff Plead With Senators to Convict Trump in Impeachment Trial

By NBC News. Hundreds of Democratic staffers from both chambers of Congress are pleading with senators to convict former President Donald Trump in his upcoming impeachment trial for his part in the events leading up to the deadly riot at the Capitol last month.

On Jan. 6, “our workplace was attacked by a violent mob trying to stop the electoral college vote count,” the 370 staff members wrote in an open letter. “That mob was incited by former president Donald J. Trump and his political allies, some of whom we pass every day in the hallways at work.”

The staff members come from more than 100 House and 15 Senate offices and include those on the Judiciary, Oversight and Foreign Affairs committees. They said they hope the senators will take their trauma seriously when the chamber weighs whether to convict the former president.

“The attack on our workplace was inspired by lies told by the former president and others about the results of the election in a baseless, months-long effort to reject votes lawfully cast by the American people,” they wrote. Investigators Struggle to Build Murder Case in Death of U.S. Capitol Police Officer

Investigators are struggling to build a federal murder case regarding fallen US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, vexed by a lack of evidence that could prove someone caused his death as he defended the Capitol during last month’s insurrection.

Authorities have reviewed video and photographs that show Sicknick engaging with rioters amid the siege but have yet to identify a moment in which he suffered his fatal injuries, law enforcement officials familiar with the matter said.

Soon after Sicknick died on January 7, prosecutors in Washington opened a federal murder investigation, dedicating a team inside the US attorney’s office to build out a case, authorities have said.

To date, little information has been shared publicly about the circumstances of the death of the 13-year veteran of the police force, including any findings from an autopsy that was conducted by DC’s medical examiner. Parler CEO Says He Has Been Fired

Parler CEO John Matze said he has been fired by the board of the social media company, which has not been running since the deadly siege against the Capitol last month.

Matze revealed his apparent departure in a memo to colleagues that was obtained by Fox Business on Wednesday. In it, he said that the decision to leave the social media company, which was favored by supporters of former President Donald Trump, was out of his hands.

“On January 29, 2021, the Parler board controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler. I did not participate in this decision,” he said. “I understand that those who now control the company have made some communications to employees and other third parties that have unfortunately created confusion and prompted me to make this public statement.”

Amazon removed Parler from its cloud-hosting service because it said the social media platform was not effectively moderating and removing violent material, including “egregious content” related to the Capitol violence on Jan. 6. (Read more from “Parler CEO Says He Has Been Fired” HERE)

First Federal Mass Vaccination Centers To Open

The first mass vaccination centers planned by the federal government are set to roll out in California.

The first two locations — staffed by employees of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Health and Human Services — will be at the Oakland Coliseum and the campus of California State University, Los Angeles.

Jeff Zients, President Biden’s COVID-19 czar, said the facilities are strategically located next to communities that have been hardest hit by the pandemic, according to NBC News.

“These sites in California are just the beginning,” Zients said. “We are working with, in partnership, in states across the country to stand up new sites and will have more to say on that in the coming weeks.” (Read more from “First Federal Mass Vaccination Centers To Open” HERE)

Actor Denzel Washington Defends Cops Amid BLM Movement

Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington said he has “the utmost respect” for cops — while taking a shot at anti-police protesters.

The 66-year-old “Malcolm X” actor said he’s had a first-hand look at the value of police work, after playing law enforcement in several roles throughout his career.

“I have the utmost respect for what they do, for what our soldiers do, (people) that sacrifice their lives. I just don’t care for people who put those kind of people down,” Washington told Yahoo! Entertainment.

“If it weren’t for them, we would not have the freedom to complain about what they do.” (Read more from “Actor Denzel Washington Defends Cops Amid BLM Movement” HERE)

Dems Push Psychological Evaluations for Family Members of Gun Owners

A massive Democratic gun-control plan that could be called the “head shrink job protection bill” would require weapon owners and their family members to undergo “psychological evaluations.”

Gun owners also would have to pay the government $800 in “insurance” fees, and a long list of weapons simply would be banned. .

The bill from U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, follows Joe Biden’s promise during his campaign to put Beto O’Rourke in charge of his gun-control policy after the onetime presidential candidate said, “Hell, yes, we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

Jackson Lee says the bill should be known as the Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act

It gets right to the point, requiring a “psychological evaluation” that follows standards established by the attorney general. It’s to be done by a “licensed psychologist approved by the attorney general” and to include interviews with “any spouse of the individual, any former spouse … and at least 2 other persons who are a member of the family of, or an associate of, the individual.” (Read more from “Dems Push Psychological Evaluations for Family Members of Gun Owners” HERE)

This COVID Vaccine Is Causing Bizarre Side Effects

The side effects of COVID-19 vaccinations already have been documented to include a sore arm at the point of the shot, feeling tired, headache, feeling achy, feeling sick, but they are expected not to last more than a week.

But now there’s a new one: COVID arm.

It’s caused by Moderna’s vaccine, and The Sun reports it appears around a week after getting a shot. . .

“We want to reassure people that [COVID arm] is a known phenomenon,” explained Dr. Esther Freedom, of Massachusetts General.

“Having a big red splotch on your arm for a couple of days may not be fun but the reality is there’s no need to panic and no reason not to get your second shot.” (Read more from “This COVID Vaccine Is Causing Bizarre Side Effects” HERE)

Trump’s Response to the Article of Impeachment Leaves No Doubt the Senate Should Acquit; Takeaways From Trump Impeachment Trial Briefs

By The Federalist. Former President Donald Trump formally responded to his impeachment on Tuesday, arguing that the Senate has no constitutional grounds to try him and should, as a result, acquit him.

In the 14-page response, Trump’s legal team, consisting of Bruce L. Castor Jr. and David Schoen, assert that the article of impeachment, which charges Trump with inciting the deadly mob riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6., should be considered null and void because the Republican is “no longer President.” The charge, they said, is based on legal principles that “run patently contrary to the plain language of the Constitution,” and since Trump cannot be removed from an office he no longer holds, the impeachment is “irrelevant to any matter before the Senate.”

While the response acknowledges that rioters “unlawfully breached and vandalized the Capitol, that people were injured and killed, and that law enforcement is currently investigating and prosecuting those who were responsible,” Trump’s team denied that he incited violence. The response also claims Trump did not try to stifle the electoral vote count and did not make “any effort to subvert the certification of the results of the 2020 Presidential election” on his phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Trump’s attorneys also argued that along with the Senate not having the constitutional grounds to hold an impeachment trial for a former president, the House of Representatives’ rushed and scattered process was not only “facially and substantively flawed,” but also fraught with administrative inconsistencies that prevented him from receiving due process. Takeaways From Trump Impeachment Trial Briefs

By The Hill. Congressional Democrats and lawyers for former President Trump released competing briefs Tuesday outlining their legal strategies for next week’s Senate impeachment trial over Trump’s role in inciting a violent mob to storm the Capitol on Jan. 6. . .

Reading the legal briefs filed by the two parties is like stepping into two completely different universes.

Democrats are still enraged by the deadly riot of Jan. 6 and drew a direct line from Trump’s months-long campaign to delegitimize the presidential election results to his speech in Washington urging supporters to “fight” for him and the violent mob that then laid siege to the Capitol.

Every House Democrat and 10 Republicans voted last month to impeach Trump for inciting the violence, and there is no question in the minds of Democrats that the Constitution grants the Senate the right to convict Trump and bar him from ever running for office again, even now that he is a private citizen.

In fact, Democrats say it is imperative that Trump is punished to ensure that U.S. democracy is not threatened in this fashion ever again. (Read more from “Takeaways From Trump Impeachment Trial Briefs” HERE)

Report: GOP Subpoena for Nursing Home Death Data Gets Blocked by New York Dems (VIDEO)

New York State Senate Democrats block a subpoena request Monday for nursing home Covid-19 fatality data, according to a report from the New York Post.

The blockage comes just days after NY Attorney General Letitia James released a report suggesting that Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo may have undercounted nursing home fatalities by as much as 50 percent.

The subpoena was an official motion made during a virtual meeting by Sen. Thomas O’Mara, ranking Republican on the Investigations committee, who said there was more information to be had.

“We talked about [issuing a subpoena] on and off throughout the past year,” O’Mara (R-Elmira) said in a statement to the New York Post.

The motion was blocked by top Democrat Sen. James Skoufis, who argued that the motion was largely moot after state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker was forced to release more detailed information following the attorney general’s report.

Biden Pentagon Chief Says ‘No, Thank You’ to Trump Recommendations

The recommendations of a slew of last-minute Defense Department advisers put in place by former President Donald Trump will not see the light of day after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin canceled their appointments.

Traditionally nonpartisan, volunteer boards that had included technical and diplomatic experts such as Henry Kissinger were dumped in the final days of the Trump presidency in favor of former campaign advisers and Republican Party stalwarts.

Austin opted against moving forward with those eleventh-hour Trump appointees, suspending all Pentagon advisory board activities until June 1 while a review is conducted. He has asked the members of those panels to resign or be dismissed by Feb. 16. . .

In all, 42 defense boards and committees, including the Defense Business Board and the Defense Policy Board, will be under a microscope while Pentagon officials evaluate their value and look for unnecessary duplication.
