Top Biden Economic Policy Could Kill Two Million Jobs

One of Joe Biden’s top economic policy priorities could kill as many as two million new jobs, a new report finds.

Biden has championed a $15 minimum wage throughout his presidential bid. The Democrat’s website touts helping “get state and local laws increasing the minimum wage across the finish line” and calls it “well past time we increase the federal minimum wage to $15 across the country.” An analysis from the pro-free market Employment Policies Institute (EPI) found that a nationwide mandate for a $15 minimum wage—more than double the current federal rate of $7.25 per hour—could eliminate millions of jobs within its first six years.

Economists found that those job losses would fall mainly among vulnerable populations, with some of the heaviest cuts coming in low-skill or entry-level positions. Half of the two million jobs lost as a result of the policy will occur in the arts, entertainment, recreation and accommodation, and food services sectors. Texas is projected to be the hardest hit state—losing more than 370,000 jobs by 2027—followed by Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Georgia. The majority of jobs lost will be those held by women, the report shows.

“Not only are 59 percent of minimum wage jobs held by women and slated to be affected by these wage increases, this means that 1.2 million jobs held by women will be lost by 2027 due to this policy, accounting for 61 percent of total losses,” the report says. Pro-Trump Union Blasts Biden for Lying about Endorsement

A top official at one of Pennsylvania’s most powerful labor groups slammed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for falsely boasting of the union’s endorsement.

Shawn Steffee, a trustee with Boilermakers Local 154, said that his members were shocked to hear the Democratic nominee claim their support on national television. While Biden claimed to have “sat down” with union leaders to have an in-depth discussion about his plans, Steffee said the Biden campaign never approached his membership. Biden’s criticism to fracking led Local 154—the largest local chapter of boilermakers in the country—to endorse President Trump.

“We had a moment of disbelief when our members started blowing our phone up because they said we flip-flopped on our endorsement,” Steffee told the Washington Free Beacon. “Nobody from his staff—nobody—has ever spoken with us, so I don’t know where he’s coming up with that.”

When ABC town hall moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up that some Boilermaker Union members do not trust Biden’s claim that he supports the fracking industry, the Democrat responded that the “Boilermaker Union overwhelmingly endorsed me.” The union’s national headquarters has not endorsed any candidates in the 2020 race, while Local 154 endorsed Trump in September. Actress Kirstie Alley Responds to Critics after Saying She’ll Vote for Trump Again

Jon Voight — who on Friday posted a video urging fans to vote for President Donald Trump over former Vice President Joe Biden, whom he dubbed “evil” — isn’t the only celebrity voicing support for the Republican leader.

On Saturday, actress Kirstie Alley took to Twitter to declare her intentions to vote, for a second time, for Trump “because he’s NOT a politician.” . . .

Alley’s announcement caused quite a stir on social media, with fellow conservatives lauding her for speaking out and going against the so-called Hollywood grain. “Your bravery is appreciated,” tweeted Republican House candidate Kimberly Klacik in response.

Conversely, her endorsement riled up Biden supporters, including Judd Apatow, who compared her unfavorably to Cheers predecessor Shelley Long, and Debra Messing, who retweeted a criticism of Alley’s longtime involvement in the Church of Scientology, calling both it and “Trumpism” cults. Bette Midler, who has previously butted heads online with the Look Who’s Talking and Veronica’s Closet star, also retweeted a comment mocking her political choice.

She referred to her critics as “what I’m going to suppose are really nasty people” and, in a separate tweet, wrote, “never encountered such horrible in my life.”

‘The Democratic Party Left Us’: How Rural Minnesota Is Making the Switch to Trump

Ask Larry Cuffe why, after decades of voting for Democrats, he voted for Donald Trump four years ago, and he’ll talk about his distrust of Hillary Clinton and the need to get northern Minnesota’s mines back to work.

Ask the former police officer why he’s sticking with Trump in 2020 and the list is very much longer.

“The Democratic party left us. Even in the past four years it’s changed so much. Supporting people who riot? Defunding the police? That’s crazy. I think a lot of us up here are Democrats in Republican clothing now,” he said.

Cuffe, who twice voted for Barack Obama, is one of six mayors from a stretch of Minnesota mining country, known as the Iron Range, who turned their back on the Democratic party and signed a joint letter endorsing Trump even as the state is swinging behind the president’s opponent, Joe Biden. . .

“Lifelong politicians like Joe Biden are out of touch with the working class, out of touch with what the country needs, and out of touch with those of us here on the Iron Range and in small towns like ours across our nation,” they said. Nancy Pelosi Gives 48 Hour Deadline for COVID Deal

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called on the Trump administration to reconcile remaining disputes on coronavirus stimulus legislation within 48 hours as lawmakers attempt to pass a bill before the 2020 election.

Pelosi set the 48-hour deadline on negotiations after speaking with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Saturday night for more than an hour. They agreed to speak again on Monday.

In an interview on ABC News on Sunday, Pelosi said the deadline has to do with lawmakers’ ability to get a deal done before the Nov. 3 election, which is just over two weeks away. The speaker said she’s optimistic about negotiations but that the outcome ultimately depends on the White House.

“The 48 only relates to if we want to get it done before the election, which we do,” Pelosi said. “We’re saying to them, we have to freeze the design on some of these things — are we going with it or not and what is the language? I’m optimistic, because again we’ve been back and forth on all this.” . . .

Pelosi, in a letter to House Democrats on Sunday, said Mnuchin had sent her the awaited language on coronavirus testing over the weekend, a long-standing point of contention in the negotiations. She said there was some “encouraging news,” though “much work remains” on the issue. (Read more from “Nancy Pelosi Gives 48 Hour Deadline for COVID Deal” HERE)

Senator Asks If FBI Investigated Child Pornography on Hunter Biden’s Laptop

A top Republican senator acknowledged the possibility that the FBI investigated whether there was child pornography on a laptop and hard drive that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden.

Journalist Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, about a Business Insider report that described faint handwriting on a subpoena served last year to a Delaware business that was given a water-damaged MacBook Pro to repair but was never retrieved and a hard drive with its contents. The hardware purportedly contained data about foreign business dealings and other matters related to the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

The subpoena appeared to show the FBI agent who served it was someone named “Joshua Wilson.” There was a Joshua Wilson, according to a Star-Ledger report published last year, who was an FBI agent based in New Jersey who spent nearly five years investigating child pornography, but it remains unclear if this is the same Wilson and what exactly the bureau was investigating.

Bartiromo twice asked Johnson, a lead congressional investigator, if he knows of any connection on her Fox News program, Sunday Morning Futures.

“I think you just made the connection. Again, this is what the FBI, I think, has to come clean about,” the Wisconsin Republican said in his first reply. Johnson was alluding to his letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray about the laptop sent last week. Inside Job? Facebook ‘Content Regulation Manager’ Advised Biden on Ukraine

Facebook’s global policy manager for content regulation, Anna Makanju, advised Joe Biden on Ukraine policy during his time as Vice President. She also defended Biden from charges of wrongdoing with regards to Ukraine in a comment to the Washington Post last year.

Her position as a senior employee at Facebook handling content regulation may have given her an opportunity to influence the social network’s decision to suppress a New York Post story revealing that Joe Biden’s son Hunter, then on a lucrative contract with the Ukrainian energy giant Burisma, introduced the then-Vice President to an executive at the company.

This occurred less than a year before the then-VP pressured the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.

Makanju is also a fellow at the Atlantic Council, which partnered with Facebook in 2018 to promote “election integrity” around the world. . .

A 2019 article in the Washington Post notes that Makanju — now in an influential position allowing her to steer Facebook’s content moderation — also specifically defended Biden, her former employer, from allegations of wrongdoing with regards to Ukraine. ABC News’ Town Hall Featured Obama-Biden Campaign Aide, Top Dem’s Wife

At least two participants at ABC News’ “town hall” event Thursday with presidential candidate Joe Biden had undisclosed Democratic Party affiliations.

Nathan Osburn, a 2008 Obama-Biden press aide, was described as a “communications” professional in an on-screen graphic and was introduced by host George Stephanopolous as “a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Democrat.”

Osburn, now a Google employee, worked in 2008 on “high-profile media inquiries” for the Obama-Biden campaign, according to his LinkedIn page, and “[h]elped secure and publicize high-profile newspaper endorsement.” . . .

Mieke Haeck, identified by ABC News as a physical therapist, was described as a first-time voter from State College, Pennsylvania. Her party affiliation wasn’t noted when she asked a question involving her 8-year-old transgender child.

Haeck is the wife of Ezra Nanes, a Democrat who ran an unsuccessful 2018 challenge against Republican state Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman, Fox News reports. (Read more from “ABC News’ Town Hall Featured Obama-Biden Campaign Aide, Top Dem’s Wife” HERE)

Twitter Still Holding the Post’s Account Hostage over Hunter Biden Links

Twitter has refused to unlock The Post’s account unless the news organization deletes six tweets about its own reporting on Hunter Biden’s emails — despite a policy change sparked by outrage over that very same social-media suppression of the stories.

In a Friday afternoon email, a Twitter representative told The Post, “While we’ve updated the policy, we don’t change enforcement retroactively. You will still need to delete the Tweets to regain access to your account.”

The demand that The Post remove links to its own stories came even though a new policy announced Thursday night allows other users to tweet the very same links. . .

Meanwhile, anyone who looks at The Post’s Twitter feed can’t even see the tweets about the Biden stories, which have been replaced by messages saying, “This Tweet is no longer available.”

Twitter hasn’t responded to an inquiry from The Post asking how it determined that the stories in question were allegedly based on “hacked materials.” (Read more from “Twitter Still Holding the Post’s Account Hostage over Hunter Biden Links” HERE)

Did the FBI Sit on a Computer Containing Evidence of Hunter Sex Tape and Biden Burisma Corruption?

. . .[T]here’s [allegedly] a sex tape and pornographic photos starring Hunter on the laptop—and the FBI knew about it in December.

The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.

The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.
