COVID-19 Vaccine Trial Stopped Due to Unexplained Illness in Study Participant

Johnson & Johnson announced late Monday it is temporarily pausing recruitment and dosing of its coronavirus vaccine in clinical trials due to an “unexplained illness in a study participant.”

The independent drug safety monitoring board for J&J’s phase 3 ENSEMBLE trial is reviewing the unexpected event. The company did not disclose more information about the affected individual.

“We must respect this participant’s privacy,” J&J said in a statement. “We’re also learning more about this participant’s illness, and it’s important to have all the facts before we share additional information.” (Read more from “COVID-19 Vaccine Trial Stopped Due to Unexplained Illness in Study Participant” HERE)

Republicans Go on Offense on Religion at Barrett Hearing as Democrats Pivot to Obamacare

Senate Republicans at the Monday Supreme Court confirmation hearings pushed harder against “religious tests” posed to Judge Amy Coney Barrett, even as Senate Democrats dropped the subject and pivoted toward criticisms of her alleged opposition to the Affordable Care Act.

The Republican strategy, prompted by criticisms of Barrett’s Catholicism in the weeks leading up to the hearings, featured prominently in the opening remarks of many members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, including those of Chuck Grassley, Ben Sasse, and Josh Hawley. All three claimed Democrats have been biased against Barrett, as well as other religious nominees, because they hold personal views out of step with the legal consensus on abortion, gay marriage, and religious liberty.

Both Sasse and Hawley delivered lengthy speeches on the subject, with Sasse decrying “religious tests” posed by Democrats and Hawley slamming the party as displaying unconstitutional, open hostility to faith.

“This bedrock principle of American liberty is now under attack,” Hawley said, referencing previous questions about faith posed by Democrats to Barrett and others.

Democrats, however, denied the bias and steered clear of religion. Instead, they focused on healthcare, arguing that Barrett is an opponent of former President Barack Obama’s signature achievement in office. Sen. Chris Coons said in his remarks that he and other Democrats will not consider Barrett’s faith, but rather her legal record. He said that a court with Barrett would do “irreparable harm” to civic order, pointing specifically to the Obamacare lawsuit. Former MSNBC Host: Trump, Supporters ‘Must Be Prosecuted and Convicted and Removed From Our Society’ (VIDEO)

. . .Keith Olbermann quit his job at ESPN and made a quiet return this month to political commentary on his YouTube channel. In a classic Olbermann deranged rant, the former MSNBC host breathed fire and brimstone at President Trump and all of his supporters, who Olbermann wants “prosecuted, convicted, and removed” from society.

“Trump can be and must be expunged,” Olbermann begins. “The hate he has triggered, the pandora’s box he has opened — they will not be so easily destroyed. So, let us brace ourselves. The task is twofold. The terrorist Trump must be defeated, must be destroyed, must be devoured at the ballot box.” . . .

“And then he, and his enablers, and his supporters, and his collaborators, and the Mike Lees, and the William Barrs, and the Sean Hannities, and the Mike Pences, and the Rudy Guilianis, and the Kyle Rittenhouses, and the Amy Coney Barretts must be prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society while we try to rebuild it and rebuild the world Trump has nearly destroyed by turning it over to a virus,” Olberman ranted.

CDC Study Finds Overwhelming Majority Of People Getting Coronavirus Wore Masks; Facebook Lies About CDC Data

By The Federalist. A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them.

A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from the same health care facility who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.

“In the 14 days before illness onset, 71% of case-patients and 74% of control participants reported always using cloth face coverings or other mask types when in public,” the report stated.

In addition, over 14 percent of the case-patients said they “often” wore a face covering and were still infected with the virus. The study also demonstrates that under 4 percent of the case-patients became sick with the virus even though they “never” wore a mask or face covering.

Despite over 70 percent of the case-patient participants’ efforts to follow CDC recommendations by committing to always wearing face coverings at “gatherings with ≤10 or >10 persons in a home; shopping; dining at a restaurant; going to an office setting, salon, gym, bar/coffee shop, or church/religious gathering; or using public transportation,” they still contracted the virus. Facebook Characterizes Federalist Article as “False Information”

By News Editor. Shortly after we posted the above article on our Facebook account, Zuckerberg’s Facebook police stopped sharing it and labeled it “False Information.”

Of course, the Facebook link supposedly proving it “false” said no such thing. Rather, the shysters at Facebook simply want to shut down any viral links that attack the official narrative.

Although we use Facebook to post our articles because of the thousands of readers who use that platform, we are encouraging everyone to find a substitute for Facebook, such as Gab.com.

Kansas Dem Backs Gun Confiscation

The Democratic Senate candidate in Kansas came out in support of Australian-style gun confiscation during a campaign event last weekend.

When asked about adding a training requirement to the state’s gun-carry permit application process, Democrat Barbara Bollier said U.S. gun-control measures do not go far enough. After noting that she has a daughter living in Australia, Bollier praised a controversial gun-confiscation program the country instituted in the 1990s.

“They have no guns. They don’t allow them. They just took them all away,” Bollier said with a chuckle in a video obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. “And, you know what, it’s pretty darn safe. It’s this amazing thing.”

The outcome of the race could impact who controls the Senate after the election since Bollier is running to replace retiring Republican senator Pat Roberts. Bollier’s stated support for gun confiscation could make her campaign against Republican Roger Marshall harder to win in the traditionally red state. Bollier already faces an uphill but not unwinnable battle, with The Cook Political Report rating the race as currently leaning toward Marshall. . .

After offering praise for Australia’s gun-confiscation program, Bollier said a limited number of Australians were able to own guns “out in the Bush” but noted “there’s all these specific requirements and training.” She said she similarly supports training requirements for gun ownership in America. Kamala Harris Skips Amy Coney Barrett Hearing Despite Attending Numerous Indoor Events

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Democrat Joe Biden’s running mate for vice president, skipped a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for United States Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett despite attending a number of indoor events on the campaign trail.

During her remarks on the first day of Barrett’s confirmation process, Harris blasted the hearing as “reckless” in the face of “a deadly, airborne virus,” referring to the Chinese coronavirus crisis. . .

Despite claiming she skipped the hearing because of the risk of contracting the Chinese coronavirus, Harris has attended numerous indoor events packed with people including the recent vice presidential debate which featured an indoor audience and the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s funeral.

Harris made the accusations even as the majority of her Senate Democrat colleagues showed up to the hearing including senators who are much older than her like Sens. Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). Liberal Reporter Brutally Gashes Kamala Harris’ Disastrous Debate Performance

. . .Liberal reporter Michael Tracey absolutely ripped into Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and her debate performance Wednesday night. Tracey is no fan of Harris and said that she was an “awful” VP pick from the get-go. So are we shocked her debate performance was equally disastrous? It was a train wreck. . .

As Tracey noted, “Kamala was hyped as the ‘front-runner’ in the 2020 Dem primaries, flamed out in spectacular fashion partly due to her terrible debate performances, and only became VP nominee thanks to an extensive lobbying effort by the Dem professional and donor class.”

WHO Backflips on Virus Stance by Condemning Lockdowns

The World Health Organization has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.

“We in the World Health Organisation do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr Nabarro told The Spectator. (Read more from “WHO Backflips on Virus Stance by Condemning Lockdowns” HERE)

Amy Coney Barrett Aligns Legal Philosophy With Late Justice Antonin Scalia in Opening Statement; CNN Skips Majority of SCOTUS Hearing

By Fox News. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, in her opening statement on Monday to the Senate Judiciary Committee, emphasized the role of the judicial branch and said it is not the court’s duty to “solve every problem or right every wrong” in American life.

“Courts have a vital responsibility to enforce the rule of law, which is critical to a free society,” Barrett said Monday, the first of a four-day hearing on her nomination to the Supreme Court. “But courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life.”

She continued: “The policy decisions and value judgments of government must be made by the political branches elected by and accountable to the People. The public should not expect courts to do so, and courts should not try.”

In her four-page opening statement, Barrett aligned her legal philosophy with that of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, a member of the court’s conservative wing for whom she previously clerked.

“It was the content of Justice Scalia’s reasoning that shaped me. His judicial philosophy was straightforward: A judge must apply the law as written, not as the judge wishes it were. Sometimes that approach meant reaching results that he did not like,” Barrett told senators. CNN Skips Much of Historic Amy Coney Barrett Hearing, Gets Bashed

By Fox News. The historic Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court kicked off Monday morning, but anyone who relies on CNN for news might not have any idea.

The liberal CNN raised eyebrows by cutting away from the hearing early on, instead having pundits bash Barrett and then pivoting to mostly coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. . .

The socially distanced hearing is nothing like any Supreme Court hearing in the past, with the nominee wearing a black face mask in the television split-screen as senators give their opening statements. Some senators are beaming in virtually as they aim to remain safe from the coronavirus pandemic. The unprecedented news event was aired by MSNBC and Fox News as CNN largely ignored the early session.

“Aside from missing out on partisan commentaries from Senators that could just as easily be delivered by Brianna Keilar or Anderson Cooper, it’s sadly not surprising that CNN has shown little interest in the hearing,” NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News.

“It’s as if the hearing hasn’t been going on this morning. Just as soon as the statements from Chairman Graham and Ranking Member Feinstein concluded, CNN bailed,” Houck added. “And then it was back to their predictable drivel, trying to strike fear into the hearts of viewers on coronavirus and offer newscasts that are in-kind donations to the Biden campaign.” (Read more from “Cnn Skips Much of Historic Amy Coney Barrett Hearing, Gets Bashed” HERE)

Fake Ballot Boxes Popping up All Over California

State and local election officials in California are investigating after multiple unofficial mail-in voting drop-off boxes have been reported in several counties in the weeks leading up to Election Day, Fox News confirmed Monday.

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement that his office is “coordinating with local officials to address the multiple reports of unauthorized ballot drop boxes.”

“Operating unofficial ballot drop boxes—especially those misrepresented as official drop boxes—is not just misleading to voters, it’s a violation of state law,” Padilla said. “This is also an important reminder. Voters are in control of how to return their ballot, and they have multiple safe and secure options for doing so. Ballots can be returned by mail, to any in-person voting location, or to an official secure drop box. Never hand your ballot over to someone you don’t trust.”

Padilla said Californians should only use official ballot drop boxes that have been deployed and secured by their county elections office. He said official county drop boxes are built with specific security protections, and ballots are retrieved only by designated county personnel.

He also directed those with questions about voting to go to official, reliable sources with county elections offices of the secretary of state’s office. Official ballot drop boxes and drop off locations can be found at caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov. (Read more from “Fake Ballot Boxes Popping up All Over California” HERE)
