Fox Host Asks Tulsi Gabbard If Hillary Clinton Had FBI-CIA ‘Cabal’ Target Trump in Russia Probe

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard declined to comment on whether she believes Hillary Clinton played a key role in the origins of the Russia investigation.

Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo asked the question Sunday, spinning off a feud in which Clinton said Gabbard is “a favorite of the Russians” and implied that the congresswoman is a “Russian asset” being groomed to spoil the 2020 election with a third-party run.

“Do you believe she had anything … to do with the FBI and the CIA — that cabal of people — putting Donald Trump in the story of Russia meddling in the United States?” Bartiromo asked on her Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures.

“I can’t speak to any of that,” the Hawaii Democrat said. The congresswoman did, however, slam Clinton for what she and “her proxies and minions have been putting out and trying to smear my character, reputation, and undermine my campaign.”

Much of Bartiromo’s Sunday program has been dedicated to following developments in the Justice Department investigations into the Russia probe. In speaking with Gabbard, she noted that there is “real speculation out there” that Clinton was “at the core” of the Russia investigation origins, because the 2016 presidential candidate made similar comments about Trump being in Russia’s pocket and her campaign helped fund an unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele used by the FBI to obtain warrants to electronically surveil Carter Page, a onetime member of Trump’s 2016 campaign. Secret Service: President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. No. 1 and No. 2 Highest Death Threats

President Trump, once the popular reality TV host of The Apprentice and a favorite of celebrity shows and gossip columns, has become the No. 1 target of death threats, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

His son, Donald Trump Jr., is No. 2 on the list.

And, Trump Jr. writes in his new book Triggered: How The Left Thrives On Hate And Wants To Silence Us, “It gets worse. Much worse.”

In his book, due out Tuesday, Trump lists several friends, family members, and conservatives who have become targets of left-leaning critics and attackers.

“Anyone who supports my father is a target,” he wrote. He named a few who have been threatened and harassed: Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Paul’s aide Sergio Gor; Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise and others injured in the June 2017 baseball field shooting assault; girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle; brother Eric Trump and sister Ivanka Trump; former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen; former spokeswoman Sarah Sanders; top policy aide Stephen Miller; Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; and Vice President Mike Pence. Bankrupt Faith: New Research Shows Accelerated Decline of Christianity in America

In Pew Research Center telephone surveys conducted in 2018 and 2019, 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade. Meanwhile, the religiously unaffiliated share of the population, consisting of people who describe their religious identity as atheist, agnostic or “nothing in particular,” now stands at 26%, up from 17% in 2009.

Both Protestantism and Catholicism are experiencing losses of population share. Currently, 43% of U.S. adults identify with Protestantism, down from 51% in 2009. And one-in-five adults (20%) are Catholic, down from 23% in 2009. Meanwhile, all subsets of the religiously unaffiliated population – a group also known as religious “nones” – have seen their numbers swell. Self-described atheists now account for 4% of U.S. adults, up modestly but significantly from 2% in 2009; agnostics make up 5% of U.S. adults, up from 3% a decade ago; and 17% of Americans now describe their religion as “nothing in particular,” up from 12% in 2009. Members of non-Christian religions also have grown modestly as a share of the adult population.

These are among the key findings of a new analysis of trends in the religious composition and churchgoing habits of the American public, based on recent Pew Research Center random-digit-dial (RDD) political polling on the telephone. The data shows that the trend toward religious disaffiliation documented in the Center’s 2007 and 2014 Religious Landscape Studies, and before that in major national studies like the General Social Survey (GSS), has continued apace.

Pew Research Center’s 2007 and 2014 Religious Landscape Studies were huge national RDD surveys, each of which included interviews with more than 35,000 respondents who were asked dozens of detailed questions about their religious identities, beliefs and practices. The Center has not yet conducted a third such study, and when the Landscape Study is repeated, it is likely to use new methods that may prevent it from being directly comparable to the previous studies; growing challenges to conducting national surveys by telephone have led the Center to rely increasingly on self-administered surveys conducted online. Trump’s Re-Election Likely If Economy Stays on Course

An enduring U.S. expansion puts President Donald Trump on course to win re-election in 2020, according to economic models with a track record of predicting who wins the White House.

The forecasts from Yale University professor Ray Fair, Oxford Economics Ltd. and Moody’s Analytics Inc. are based on Trump being boosted at the ballot box by steady economic growth, an historically tight labor market and limited inflation.

Such an outlook justifies Trump’s push to harness what he’s called the “greatest” economy to return him to power a year from Sunday. It challenges some opinion polls which show his disapproval rating hovering near 54% amid an impeachment inquiry and polarized politics. . .

The economy expanded at a 1.9% pace in the third quarter and unemployment is close to its lowest in a half-century, government data showed last week. While manufacturing has been hurt by the U.S.-China trade war, consumers continue to spend in a sign voters are still confident about the economy. A Bloomberg Economics model sees the chances of an election-year recession at just 27%. (Read more from “Trump’s Re-Election Likely If Economy Stays on Course” HERE)

SHOCK: New Poll Has Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden Tied for First Place

A new Harvard-Harris national poll has former Vice President Joe Biden running a substantial lead ahead of his closest rivals, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). . .

33% selected Biden, 18% selected Sanders, and 15% selected Warren. No other candidate came close to double digits. 8% were “not sure.”

When independents were added to the Democratic group, the numbers shifted, but the positions remained the same. 25% for Biden, 15% for Sanders, and 12% for Warren. 14% were “not sure.” . . .

Here’s where things get interesting – the survey asked respondents to choose a candidate if the pool were expanded to include Hillary Clinton, Michael Bloomberg, and John Kerry.

Once these candidates are added to the mix, the race changes dramatically. Biden still leads with 19% of the Democratic vote, but Clinton comes in second with 18%. Warren falls to 13%, and Sanders to 12%. (Read more from “Shock: New Poll Has Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden Tied for First Place” HERE)

Whistleblower’s Attorney Threatens Legal Action Against Journalists for Outing Their Client

The Ukrainian whistleblower’s legal team has repeatedly maintained the notion that their client’s anonymity is important and is protected under the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989.

According to the legal team’s statement released on Thursday, the government isn’t the only party responsible for protecting the whistleblower’s identity. The media has a responsibility as well. Should a journalist or media outlet publish the whistleblower’s name, they could face legal recourse:

Accordingly, we neither confirm nor deny the identity of the Intelligence Community Whistleblower. Our client is legally entitled to anonymity. Disclosure of the name of any person who may be suspected to be the whistleblower places that individual and their family in great physical danger. Any physical harm the individual and/or their family suffers as a result of disclosure means that the individuals and publications reporting such names will be personally liable for that harm. Such behavior is at the pinnacle of irresponsibility and is intentionally reckless.

Although the attorneys, Andrew Bakaj and Mark Zaid, haven’t explicitly said they would file lawsuits, they haven’t ruled it out either. (Read more from “Whistleblower’s Attorney Threatens Legal Action Against Journalists for Outing Their Client” HERE)

Trump Impeachment Inquiry’s Sneaky Next Chapter – Get Ready for THIS; Nearly Half of Americans AGREE Impeachment Is a Witch Hunt

Andrew McCarthy: Trump Impeachment Inquiry’s Sneaky Next Chapter – Get Ready for THIS

By Andrew McCarthy. Now that we’ve had a day to digest the resolution authorizing the House impeachment inquiry, which was passed on a party line vote, I’d argue that the most significant element of it is the coming Schiff Report.

Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is the sharp-elbowed partisan and former prosecutor who chairs the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. To date, the Intelligence Committee has been the laboring oar on the impeachment investigation. That is irregular, to say the least. . .

The Intelligence Committee specializes in closed proceedings involving highly classified matters. The subject matter of the impeachment inquiry, to the contrary, is not highly classified. . .

Moreover, impeachment is the most critical public business in which the people’s representatives engage, a consideration of whether the chief executive elected by the nation should be cited for misconduct and removed from power. It is paradigmatic public business. It should not be playing out behind closed doors, with the American people limited to skewed information in the form of selective leaking to Trump-hostile media allies. . .

If we’re being assured that impeachment will be a transparent process, then why haven’t the transcripts of all the prior testimony been released? That way, we could read the testimony for ourselves – testimony we should have been able to watch as it was being given, or review right afterwards. Nearly Half of Americans Believe Impeachment Is a Partisan Witch Hunt, According to New Poll

By The Blaze. A new poll shows that nearly half of Americans believe the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump is a partisan-driven attempt to remove the president. . .

It found that 47 percent of Americans polls saw the inquiry as a biased bid to oust Trump.

However, a majority of 57 percent said that the inquiry has been so far handled properly. . .

A separate poll published by Suffolk University for USA Today on Tuesday showed that although a majority of Americans believed the president did something wrong in his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, of those only a small percentage believed the president should be impeached. ‘I Was Born For This’: Beto Drops out of 2020 Race

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is dropping out of the 2020 presidential race, according to a report by the New York Times.

The Times is reporting that O’Rourke had planned to withdraw “from the race in Iowa on Friday evening and follow up with an email message to his supporters.” According to the Times, he stated in a draft of the message to his supporters that “he was proud of championing issues like guns and climate change but conceded that his campaign lacked ‘the means to move forward successfully.'”

O’Rourke’s campaign has struggled in a crowded field vying for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. He came out in favor of a controversial, mandatory gun confiscation program for AR-15s and AK-47s, after a mass shooting in El Paso.

LIAR: Business Records Show Hunter Biden Remains on Board of Chinese Equity Firm

Business records accessed Friday show that Hunter Biden remains listed as a board member of a Chinese private equity firm, a position the son of former Vice President Joe Biden said he’d relinquish by the end of October.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer said he had resigned his seat on the board of BHR Partners; however, the lawyer did not provide the Daily Caller News Foundation any evidence of his departure.

Hunter Biden was listed as an active director of BHR Partners in the firm’s file on China’s National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System when accessed on Nov. 1 by the DCNF. The most recent change to the firm occurred on Sept. 18, according to BHR’s business records.

“Yes, Hunter has resigned from the board,” Hunter Biden’s lawyer, George Mesires, told the DCNF in a single-sentence statement Friday.

It’s possible that Chinese business records don’t yet reflect Hunter Biden’s resignation from the BHR board due to a processing delay, but Mesires did not provide evidence of Hunter Biden’s departure, despite the DCNF’s repeated requests for a copy of his resignation letter to BHR or even a departure date. Katie Hill’s Defenders Have It Wrong: Male Politicians’ Extramarital Affairs Have Repeatedly Cost Them Their Jobs

Democratic California Rep. Katie Hill and her defenders have said the congresswoman is the victim of a double standard, but history indicates otherwise. . .

On the contrary, extramarital affairs have repeatedly cost male politicians their jobs. Contrary to Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who said that “revenge porn” doesn’t “happen to male members in the same way” — male politicians have repeatedly seen lewd photos of themselves leaked without their consent. . .

Former Republican Texas Rep. Joe Barton announced in his retirement in 2017, after a nude photograph of the congressman was posted online, revealing an extramarital affair. Barton apologized for the photo and left Congress after his seventeenth term. . .

An extramarital affair cost former Republican Indiana Rep. Mark Souder his job as well. Souder resigned in 2010 after he admitted to having an affair with one of his congressional staffers — the same allegation that Hill faced before she announced her resignation. . .

Former Democratic New York Rep. Anthony Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after he was revealed to have sent explicit photographs of himself to a number of women. Weiner’s sexting scandals continued after he left Congress — his 2013 mayoral bid was scuttled after he was exposing sexting under the name “Carlos Danger” — and he later served time in prison in relation to sexually explicit messages he exchanged with an underage girl.
