FBI Director Reveals Terrifying Detail About Possible U.S. Terrorist Attacks

By The Daily Caller. FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Wednesday that the odds of terrorists using civilian drones in the U.S. to attack “mass gatherings” is “steadily increasing.”

Wray offered the dire warning in testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.

“The FBI assesses that, given their retail availability, lack of verified identification requirement to procure, general ease of use, and prior use overseas, [unmanned aircraft systems] will be used to facilitate an attack in the United States against a vulnerable target, such as a mass gathering,” Wray testified.

Wray said terrorist groups like ISIS and al Qaeda, as well as Mexican drug cartels and MS-13, have made “repeated and dedicated efforts” to use commercial drones as weapons. (Read more from “FBI Director Reveals Terrifying Detail About Possible U.S. Terrorist Attacks” HERE)

‘22 July’ Reveals Pain of Norway Terror Attack

By Boston Herald. Writer-director Paul Greengrass, of “United 93,” “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatum” fame, returns to a real-life event in the gut-wrenching “22 July,” a fictionalized account of the 2011 lone wolf terrorist bombing of a government building in Oslo and follow-up mass shooting on a nearby island, resulting in 77 fatalities, many adolescents, by the neo-Nazi gunman Anders Behring Breivik (actor, musician and medical doctor Anders Danielsen Lie).

This a ticking bomb movie, a countdown to events you are probably familiar with and probably dread re-experiencing. Using his you-are-there hand-held camera technique and a Norwegian cast speaking English, Greengrass methodically takes us back to the hours before the attacks, when a pseudo-military-like Breivik can be seen making a fertilizer bomb in some idyllic yet spooky woods near Oslo. At the same time, we see nearby Utoya Island, a property in a lake near Oslo associated with the liberal Norwegian Labor Party. The island is the location of a yearly summer camp. Breivik, who lives with his frightened mother in a small Oslo apartment, plans to kill as many of the children of “the elite” and cause as much pain as possible. FBI Arrests Man Building 200-Pound Bomb to Blow Himself up in D.C.

By Daily Wire. Federal law enforcement officials arrested a 56-year-old man in Hudson Valley, New York on Tuesday after learning that he was allegedly planning an election day suicide in Washington, D.C. because he was angered over the nation’s politics.

Authorities say that the man was building a 200-pound bomb that he was planning to use to blow himself up with at the National Mall because of his “radical political beliefs,” CBS New York reported.

“As alleged, (the man) concocted a twisted plan to draw attention to his political ideology by killing himself on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. — risking harm to many others in the process,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said. (Read more from “FBI Arrests Man Building 200-Pound Bomb to Blow Himself up in D.C.” HERE)

Feds: NY Man Planned to Blow Himself up on National Mall on Election Day

By CBS New York. A New York man is under arrest for allegedly plotting to blow himself up on the National Mall on election day.

Paul Rosenfeld, 56, wanted to kill himself to draw attention to his “radical political beliefs,” authorities said.

“As alleged, Paul M. Rosenfeld concocted a twisted plan to draw attention to his political ideology by killing himself on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. risking harm to many others in the process,” said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman. “Rosenfeld’s alleged plan for an Election Day detonation cut against our democratic principles.”

Rosenfeld allegedly supported a political belief called sortition, which advocates for random selection of government officials. He bought large quantities black powder over the internet to build a large bomb in his basement, authorities said. He had previously made and tested other small bombs, according to authorities. Another New Poll Shows Republicans Are Furious, More Likely to Vote in Midterms After Kavanaugh

It’s been less than 24-hours since Justice Brett Kavanaugh took his rightful seat on the Supreme Court and two weeks since Democrats attempted to derail his nomination with a supercharged smear campaign.

Brett Kavanaugh took the bench with his new Supreme Court colleagues for the first time Tuesday in a jovial atmosphere that was strikingly at odds with the tension and rancor surrounding his high-court confirmation.

The new justice dived into his new job, asking a handful of questions in the first arguments of the day following a traditional welcome from Chief Justice John Roberts, who wished Kavanaugh “a long and happy career in our common calling.”

But according to a new survey from Rasmussen Reports, Republican voters are furious about the salacious, unfounded accusations lobbed at Kavanaugh and are more likely to vote in the upcoming midterm elections as a result.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of all Likely U.S. Voters say they are more likely to vote in the upcoming midterm elections because of the controversy surrounding President Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court nominee. Only nine percent (9%) say they are less likely to vote. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the controversy will have no impact on their vote.

Senator Reveals Who He Believes Leaked Ford Letter

By The Daily Caller. Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Tuesday of being involved in the operation to leak Christine Blasey Ford’s letter to the public.

“I believe the Schumer political operation was behind this from the very beginning,” Cotton told conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt during his radio show.

Ford wrote Democratic lawmakers a letter in July accusing Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct more than 35 years ago. During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in September, Ford said she did not authorize the letters release, despite it being made public.

“We learned last week that a woman named Monica McLean was Ms. Ford’s roommate and she was one of the so-called ‘beach friends’ that encouraged Ms. Ford to go to [Sen.] Dianne Feinstein and the partisan Democrats on the judiciary committee,” Cotton continued. “It just so happens that Monica McLean worked for Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney in Manhattan, now a virulent anti-Trump critic on television and former counsel to Chuck Schumer.” (Read more from “Senator Reveals Who He Believes Leaked Ford Letter” HERE)

Sen. Tom Cotton Pushes Conspiracy Theory Involving Blasey Ford, Preet Bharara and Chuck Schumer

By The Hill Reporter. . .Last night, Trump apologized to Brett Kavanuagh on behalf of the nation for the “Democrat’s hoax.” Today, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton took it a step further by creating a conspiracy theory involving Dr. Blasey Ford, Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein.

Cotton made his claims this morning on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show. He claimed, “I believe the Schumer political operation was behind this from the very beginning.”

The senator explained that there was a connection between Ford’s friend Monica McLean and Preet Bharara.

Bharara was a celebrated US Attorney who was famous for taking on financial corruption in New York City. He was fired by the president shortly after Donald Trump took office.

Cotton claimed that McLean once worked for Bharara and then worked for Schumer so there was a line connecting the three of them. (Read more from “Sen. Tom Cotton Pushes Conspiracy Theory Involving Blasey Ford, Preet Bharara and Chuck Schumer” HERE)

Trump Is Considering 5 Candidates to Replace Nikki Haley at UN

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has five names in mind to replace Nikki Haley as ambassador to the United Nations.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump identified only one person on the list: Dina Powell, a former deputy national security adviser to Trump. . .

Trump announced earlier in the day that Haley would be leaving her post at the end of the year. The abrupt decision, first reported by Axios, left many in the White House in shock as there was no indication that she planned to leave office. Haley submitted her resignation on Oct. 3.

Ivanka Trump was floated as a possible replacement, as was Richard Grenell, the ambassador to Germany. Trump said that Grenell is not one of the five under consideration, though he is open to considering adding his name to the list.

“It is an honor to serve in the White House alongside so many great colleagues and I know that the President will nominate a formidable replacement for Ambassador Haley,” she said. “That replacement will not be me.” (Read more from “Trump Is Considering 5 Candidates to Replace Nikki Haley at UN” HERE)

There’s No Evidence Taylor Swift Caused a Massive Spike in Voter Registration

I’d give the Daily Beast a little credit for hedging some, but then there’s the lede: “Taylor Swift’s first foray into politics appears to have produced impressive results.” All the outlets made the same argument: that, a.) there was an increase in voter registration in the time period following Taylor Swift’s Instagram post urging people to register to vote for a Brett Kavanaugh supporter and b.) Swift caused that surge.

But of course correlation does not imply causation, much though the media tends to struggle with that concept. The evidence presented in all these pieces doesn’t actually go a step further and prove that the surge of registrations on Vote.org was caused by Swift. On the contrary, some of the pieces allude to a compelling alternative explanation. Here’s the Daily Beast again:

“We are up to 65,000 registrations in a single 24-hour period since T. Swift’s post,” Kamari Guthrie, director of communications for Vote.org, told Buzzfeed, which reports, for context, that 190,178 new voters registered nationwide in the entire month of September, while just 56,669 signed on in August. …

Today, as Swift’s post sought to inform her fans, is the last day on which Tennesseans can register to vote.

Uh, what was that last part? Tennessee registrations spiked on … the last days people can register to vote? Wouldn’t that be exactly what researchers should expect to naturally occur? It’s not just Tennessee either: seventeen other states have the same deadline, including populous states like Texas, Pennsylvania and Florida. Deadlines in states like New York and Virginia are also quickly approaching. (Read more from “There’s No Evidence Taylor Swift Caused a Massive Spike in Voter Registration” HERE)

Here’s What Happened to the Special Education Teacher Who Tweeted About ‘Killing Kavanaugh’

By Townhall. The Minnesota Special Education teacher, Sam Ness, who tweeted about wanting someone to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has voluntarily resigned, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. . .

According to a press release from Intermediate School District 917, the district immediately put Ness on paid administrative leave while the complaints were investigated. Ultimately, they found out that the special education teacher made the threats on her own personal device on her free time.

“The actions of the employee did not occur at school, and there was no school devices, equipment, or other school staff involved in the actions,” Superintendent Mark A. Zuzek said in a statement. “At no time were students or staff in danger.” (Read more from “Here’s What Happened to the Special Education Teacher Who Tweeted About ‘Killing Kavanaugh'” HERE)

Rosemount Educator Resigns After ‘Kill Kavanaugh’ Tweet

By Star Tribune. A Rosemount school district employee has resigned over a social media post in which she appeared to suggest that someone should kill new U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The district said Tuesday that the instructor at the Alliance Education Center, whom it did not name, had voluntarily resigned from her position with the district. In a statement posted on the district’s website, Intermediate School District 917 Superintendent Mark Zuzek wrote that the staff member did not make the post on Twitter while at school, adding that “there were no school devices, equipment or other school staff involved in the actions.”

“At no time were students or staff in danger,” he wrote. “The employee was placed on paid administrative leave and an investigation conducted.”

Zuzek said the district began receiving complaints about the tweet on Sunday. It read: “So whose [sic] gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?” By Monday, a spokesman for the FBI office in Minneapolis said the agency was aware of the posting, and the school district was conducting its own review. Give Us the Wall: House GOP Plans Full Blown Legislative Assault on Illegal Immigration

Maybe there are three dividends that Republicans are reaping from their victory over liberals during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court fight. The base is jacked up for the midterms, we confirmed Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, giving conservatives a SCOTUS majority for the next generation, and it allowed the House GOP leadership to get some chutzpah on fighting illegal immigration. Yes, you read that, right? We’ve demanded a wall, going after sanctuary cities, securing the border, and enforcing current federal immigration laws. Now, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) pretty much promised full legislative offensive against illegal immigration (via CBS News):

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy says he will introduce a bill this week to fully fund a border wall between the United States and Mexico. Building the wall is a campaign promise and rallying cry for President Trump, whose support McCarthy may be seeking as the frontrunner to be the next speaker of the House.

McCarthy is sponsoring the “Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act,” which would dedicate over $23 billion to building the border wall. The bill would also include measures to cut off funds for sanctuary cities and to facilitate deportation and detention of immigrant gang members. Breitbart, a right-wing news site, first reported that McCarthy would introduce the bill.

“For decades, America’s inability to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration has encouraged millions to undertake a dangerous journey to come here in violation of our laws and created a huge loophole to the legal channels to the immigration process where America welcomes immigrants to our country,” he said in a statement to Breitbart.

DNC Lawyers Met With Top FBI Official Before Spy Warrant Targeting Trump Campaign Was Issued

Well, the Kavanaugh fight is over. Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh survived a vicious character assassination campaign executed by the Left. The scars will remain indefinitely, which is tragic, but in the end—we won. Conservatives won a generational victory. We have a solid majority on the Supreme Court. Now, back to matters that you might have missed due to all the left-wing histrionics over this Supreme Court fight.

We learned from The Hill’s John Solomon that prior to a spy warrant being issued that targeted the Trump campaign, a top Federal Bureau of Investigation official met with Democratic National Committee lawyers. The point is, and what some have already alleged, is that the FBI knew that the so-called Trump dossier was still largely unverified, but it was still used to secure a FISA warrant against former foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

The attorneys in question were part of Perkins Coie, a Democratic law firm the Hillary Clinton campaign used to solicit the services of Fusion GPS, who then hired former British spook Christopher Steele to compile dirt on Trump:

Congressional investigators have confirmed that a top FBI official met with Democratic Party lawyers to talk about allegations of Donald Trump-Russia collusion weeks before the 2016 election, and before the bureau secured a search warrant targeting Trump’s campaign.

Former FBI general counsel James Baker met during the 2016 season with at least one attorney from Perkins Coie, the Democratic National Committee’s private law firm.

Trump: I Am NOT Firing Rod Rosenstein

President Donald Trump told reporters Monday that he does not plan to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, despite weeks of rumors indicating Rosenstein was likely facing his final weeks at the Department of Justice.

Trump was asked during a short presser before getting on Marine One whether he intended to dismiss Rosenstein during a trip the pair was scheduled to take together to Florida Monday afternoon. . .

Instead, Trump said, he was “looking forward” to having a lengthy discussion with Rosenstein, the first since a New York Times piece appeared accusing Rosenstein of instructing DOJ employees to record any conversations they had with the president, and suggesting that Rosenstein had been discussing Trump’s fitness for office with members of the president’s Cabinet.

Rosenstein flatly denied the Times’ allegations and accused the Times of relying on a single anonymous source. NBC News reported later that other DOJ employees thought Rosenstein’s comments about taping the president were “sarcastic.” The White House summoned Rosenstein for a meeting last week, and Rosenstein reportedly anticipated being fired. He was not. (Read more from “Trump: I Am Not Firing Rod Rosenstein” HERE)
