Parkland HS Teacher Arrested for Leaving Loaded Gun in Public Bathroom

By Bizpac Review. A teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was arrested after leaving a loaded firearm in a restroom.

Sean Simpson, a science teacher who was present at the Parkland, Fla., high school when a gunman opened fire, killing 17 people, left the gun in a bathroom stall at the Deerfield Beach Pier on Sunday, ABC News reported.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the teacher explained that after going back to retrieve the gun, he found a homeless man holding it. At some point, the man, who looked to be intoxicated, fired the weapon into a wall . . .

Simpson had previously said he would be willing to arm himself while on duty as a teacher, according to the Miami Herald.

Florida passed a new law, the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program, named after the coach at Stoneman Douglas who died while protecting students, that allows certain school staff members to carry a firearm. Marjory Stoneman Douglas Teacher Charged After Leaving Gun in Public Restroom

By ABC News. A Marjory Stoneman Douglas teacher and shooting survivor was arrested and charged after he allegedly left his pistol in a public restroom, where it was later fired, police said . . .

Simpson, 43, was charged with failing to safely store a firearm, a second-degree misdemeanor. He was released later on Sunday after posting a $250 cash bond. Meanwhile, Spataro, who told police he fired the Glock 9mm to see if it was loaded, was charged with firing a weapon while intoxicated and trespassing.

ABC affiliate WPLG reached out to Simpson, who would not comment on the case, though he said did not believe that he violated school board rules.

A spokeswoman for the Broward County School Board said the district is not expected to take disciplinary action against him, according to WPLG. (Read more from “Marjory Stoneman Douglas Teacher Charged After Leaving Gun in Public Restroom” HERE)

Facebook Censorship: The Grotesque Mainstream Solution

The problem with Facebook started a long time ago. They used their money to promote their social media operations, and tons of users jumped on board, believing that conventional rules of free speech applied.

That was a mistake.

The mistake was on the level of believing the military-industrial complex is only interested in legitimate defense of the nation; or believing the pharmaceutical industry is only interested in alleviating existing illness with safe drugs.

Some lawyers and scholars are trying to “correct” Facebook. But beware: most of them are arguing that, since the Internet is a new platform, far beyond the ability of the Founding Fathers to have anticipated, we now have to change the meaning of the 1st Amendment, in order to make social media “more responsible” about the content they permit. In other words, Facebook should eliminate “more fake news.” This is the road to disaster, as any sane person can see.

Who decides what is fake? Government appointed fact checkers? The CIA? Either of the two major political parties? A biased hate speech organization?

These scholars and attorneys want social media to be defined as “public square, town hall, news media”—but not so public that all political views are allowed through the door. No. They only want “reasonable” content, to protect “robust debate in a democracy.” This is pure baloney.

We’re also seeing increasing calls for government regulation of social media. This means more censorship. We’re witnessing that in California, where State Senator Richard Pan has introduced a bill (SB 1424), designed to force all Internet activity based in California to use designated fact checkers and issue warnings about fake news.

It may seem like a good move to redefine social media giants as “more than private companies,” but that direction is dangerous. In the main, it’s not being shaped by true free-speech advocates, it’s controlled by mainstream operatives who want their news to dominate the scene.

A 10/11/17 Wired article contains this stunning piece: “’You cannot run a democratic system unless you have a well-informed public, or a public prepared to defer to well-informed elites,’ says Larry Kramer, president of the Hewlett Foundation and an expert in constitutional law. ‘And we are now rapidly heading toward neither. Without one or the other, our constitutional system and our liberal democracy will end, perhaps not imminently, but over time’.”

Defer to well-informed elites? Really? This is the mainstream argument right out in the open: The vaunted traditional news outlets speak the truth and we must listen to them. We must censor all the extraneous “noise” on the Internet. The NY Times and the Washington Post and CNN and CBS would never lie. They vet their stories and fact check them. They are objective. They light the lamp of truth and point the way. They protect democracy.

To mainstream scholars, improving social media means destroying the 1st Amendment under the guise of “adjusting and updating it.”

Eliminating hate speech includes censoring material that contradicts the “progressive culture” on issues like immigration, open borders, gun control, vaccination, and gender identity.

“Free speech” is replaced by “better speech.”

“I don’t like what you say” is replaced by “you have no right to say it.”

The very popular pro-Trump Diamond and Silk duo recently reacted to Facebook censorship: “…giving us the run around, Facebook gave us another bogus reason why Millions of people who have liked and/or followed our page no longer receives notification and why our page, post and video reach was reduced by a very large percentage. Here is the reply from Facebook. Thu, Apr 5, 2018 at 3:40 PM: ‘The Policy team has come to the conclusion that your content and your brand has been determined unsafe to the community’.”

I guess Diamond and Silk are part of the dangerous noise that distracts the American people from “responsible journalism” so necessary to maintaining a robust democracy.

Yes, that must be it.

As far as I can tell, the following quote about the news was written before the Internet and Facebook existed, and therefore—heaven forbid—was actually aimed at mainstream sources:

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day. . . . I will add, that the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods & errors.” (Thomas Jefferson, June 11, 1807)

Censor Jefferson! He’s contributing to doubt and disbelief in our most trusted streams of information. Ban him from Facebook! He’s unsafe to the community. He’s a corrosive influence. He’s obstructing democracy. He’s a conspiracy lunatic. The new and improved 1st Amendment doesn’t protect him. How can we conduct intelligent and proper debate on serious matters in the face of such blanket condemnations which he spews?

Yes, ban him, so we can be safe again. (For more from the author of “Facebook Censorship: The Grotesque Mainstream Solution” please click HERE)

House Speaker Paul Ryan Won’t Seek Re-Election

By CNN. House Speaker Paul Ryan is not seeking re-election and will retire from Congress after this year, the Wisconsin Republican announced Wednesday.

“You realize something when you take this job,” Ryan told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning. “It’s a big job with a lot riding on you … but you also know this is not a job that does not last forever. … You realize you hold the office for just a small part of our history. So you better make the most of it.”

He reminded reporters that he took the job “reluctantly” in 2015, when he took over from John Boehner, but Ryan also said he has no “regrets.”

“I like to think I’ve done my part, my little part in history to set us on a better course,” Ryan said. (Read more from “House Speaker Paul Ryan Won’t Seek Re-Election” HERE)

Paul Ryan Won’t Run for Re-Election

By Axios. Speaker Paul Ryan told House Republicans this morning that he will not run for re-election in November.

Why it matters: House Republicans were already in a very tough spot for the midterms, with many endangered members and the good chance that Democrats could win the majority.

One of Washington’s best-wired Republicans said:

“This is a Titanic, tectonic shift. … This is going to make every Republican donor believe the House can’t be held.” The announcement will help Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in his fundraising because “the Senate becomes the last bastion,” the Republican said.

. . .

What comes next: The two most likely to replace him are Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise, though Scalise has said he won’t run against McCarthy, who appears to have first bite at the apple.

Data Indicates Illegal Aliens Are Exploiting U.S. Asylum With False Claims

. . .Border apprehensions, a decent proxy for border flows, plummeted. April 2017 saw the smallest number of apprehensions and inadmissibles on record, at less than 16,000. While there may be other factors at work, the likely cause of this shock was President Trump’s election: his rhetorical stance against immigration probably reduced illegal inflows almost immediately . . .

But this effect has gradually worn off. As of March 2018, apprehensions and inadmissibles have risen to nearly 50,000 again, similar to the springtime-peaks observed during the Obama years. Whatever short-term effect Trump’s rhetoric may have had, with no actual new border security measures in place, it’s wearing off. Realizing that rhetoric has real, not quickly-fading, effects is probably motivating Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard . . .

But there’s another fascinating angle to the story of the migrant “caravan.” Many did not intend to simply enter the United States without legal permission; they intended to claim asylum. Claiming asylum means a person enters a country without legal right to do so, then asserts he cannot be deported, because deporting him would likely result in his death due to racially, religiously, politically, ethnically, or sexually based violent discrimination.

Asylum is enshrined as a right in both U.S. and international law. However, asylum has become increasingly controversial in the United States and Europe as a growing share of foreign citizens attempt to claim asylum, raising questions over whether this once-modestly-sized migration program faces abuse and misuse . . .

Asylum claims have risen in recent years for all origins, but especially for Latin American origins. While once these countries were a minority of claims of asylum, in 2016, the most recent available data, they were a substantial majority. DOJ Gives Nunes Document That Started Entire Investigation

By CNN. House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes’ dispute with Depuity Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray appeared to de-escalate Wednesday after Nunes was given access to the document that kicked off the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia.

Nunes had been threatening to hold Rosenstein and Wray in contempt — and to potentially impeach them — if the Justice Department didn’t cooperate with his committee amid stepped-up congressional Republican criticism of Rosenstein as President Donald Trump considers whether to fire him.

A Justice official told CNN that Nunes and Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina went to the Justice Department on Wednesday to view the document, known as an electronic communication, which details the origination of the counterintelligence investigation into Trump’s team and Russia that began in July 2016. The official said the document was no longer redacted, except for “narrowly tailored” redactions to protect the name of a foreign country and foreign agent that, if revealed, could undermine “the trust we have with this foreign nation.” (Read more from “DOJ Gives Nunes Document That Started Entire Investigation” HERE)

Justice Department Hands Over Document

By The New York Post. . .The disclosure comes after committee chair Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) threatened to “impeach” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein if he failed to turn over the two-page memo.

“After numerous unfulfilled requests for an Electronic Communication (EC) related to the opening of the FBI’s Russia counterintelligence probe, Chairman Trey Gowdy and I met this afternoon with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein,” Nunes said in a statement Wednesday.

“During the meeting, we were finally given access to a version of the EC that contained the information necessary to advance the Committee’s ongoing investigation of the Department of Justice and FBI.”

According to The Hill, the Justice Department only made redactions “narrowly tailored to protect the name of a foreign country and the name of a foreign agent.” (Read more from “Justice Department Hands Over Document” HERE)

California Doing All in Their Power to Stop Border Wall

California will appeal a decision allowing construction of a portion of President Donald Trump’s border wall, after a federal judge found the administration can waive environmental laws governing such projects.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra called the proposed barrier “medieval” and vowed to continue protecting the state from “federal overreach.” The lower court decision ensures the barrier can be built on an accelerated timetable.

“When we said that a medieval wall along the U.S.-Mexico border does not belong in the 21st century, we meant it,” Becerra said. “There are environmental and public health laws in place, and we continue to believe that the Trump administration is violating those laws.” . . .

The state filed its notice of appeal Monday with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Such filings do not include detailed legal arguments, which will appear in a subsequent brief.

Becerra sued the Trump administration in September 2017 to stop construction of a stretch of wall near San Diego, extending eastward from the Pacific Ocean. Becerra, a Democrat, argues the U.S. Department of Homeland Security cannot waive relevant provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act and the Coastal Zone Management Act, which, under normal circumstances, would impose numerous constraints on the administration’s plans. A Former Obama Official Is Attacking Rand Paul for Being… Attacked

On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama’s bus driver turned National Security Council spokesman mocked Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for being attacked by his neighbor late last year.

Tommy Vietor’s vile comments were in a response to a tweet from Paul[:]

Vietor responded by writing: “You are a shameless hack and an idiot. Stop attacking public servants. Start doing a better job not getting beat up by your neighbor.”

The White House Just Let a Big Secret Slip About Firing Robert Mueller

By CNN. Less than 24 hours removed from Donald Trump musing that “many people” have told him he should fire special counsel Robert Mueller, Sarah Sanders made clear that that the White House has researched such a move and believes Trump has the ability to do it.

“He certainly believes he has the power to do so,” the White House press secretary said of the President’s ability to fire Mueller. “We’ve been advised that the President certainly has the power to make that decision.” . . .

Think about what Sanders is saying here. She is saying that the White House has sought out guidance as to whether Trump can fire the special counsel. And concluded that he can. (Read more from “The White House Just Let a Big Secret Slip About Firing Robert Mueller” HERE)

Trump Sought to Fire Mueller in December

By The New York Times. In early December, President Trump, furious over news reports about a new round of subpoenas from the office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, told advisers in no uncertain terms that Mr. Mueller’s investigation had to be shut down.

The president’s anger was fueled by reports that the subpoenas were for obtaining information about his business dealings with Deutsche Bank, according to interviews with eight White House officials, people close to the president and others familiar with the episode. To Mr. Trump, the subpoenas suggested that Mr. Mueller had expanded the investigation in a way that crossed the “red line” he had set last year in an interview with The New York Times.

In the hours that followed Mr. Trump’s initial anger over the Deutsche Bank reports, his lawyers and advisers worked quickly to learn about the subpoenas, and ultimately were told by Mr. Mueller’s office that the reports were not accurate, leading the president to back down. Dead at 42: Healthy Broward County Sheriff Deputy Who Questioned Parkland School Shooting’s Gun Control Agenda

Sometime on or around April 1, 2018 Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Fitzsimons, 42 years old and in excellent state of mind and health, called in sick to his job. Shortly thereafter Fitzsimons was found dead on his sofa. There has been a complete “news blackout” of this curious and untimely death.

Deputy Fitzsimons wasn’t just any law enforcement officer. Unlike many of his peers, he took to social media to question the potential agenda behind the February 14 Marjory Stoneman High School mass shooting, suggesting that the event was being used to promote the Democratic Party’s gun control platform in anticipation of the 2018 midterm elections. And recent personnel decisions involving public officials indicate, an unwritten law of taxpayer-funded institutions is that employees disavow and steer clear of “conspiracy theories” that may call their superiors’ motives into question.

One post found on Fitzsimons’ Facebook page depicts the Parkland massacre’s main spokesperson, David Hogg, in National Socialist regalia, with the caption, “We will March Until We Disarm Every American.”

The circumstances surrounding Deputy Fitzsimons’ death are sketchy. The official cause has been attributed to cancer, yet this is contradicted by an obituary found at obittree.com, stating that he “died unexpectedly.” The “died unexpectedly” phrase is one morticians and/or loved ones sometimes employ when for one reason or another they are reluctant to disclose the true cause of death, as in the case of a suicide. Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Who Questioned Parkland School Shooting’s Gun Confiscation Agenda Found Dead

By Freedom Outpost. OK, from the outset, let me say I’m not saying that there is something sinister going on here, but at the same time, I’m not so naive to think there couldn’t be something sinister, especially since this deputy questioned what was really going on and was only 42 years old and in excellent health. Still Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Fitzsimons died on April 1, 2018 at his home on his sofa.

Deputy Fitzsimons, unlike Sheriff Scott Israel, questioned a lot of what was taking place following the Marjory Stoneman High School shooting that took place on February 14 of this year. And he wasn’t a coward about it either.

Fitzsimons also suggested that “the event was being used to promote the Democratic Party’s gun control platform in anticipation of the 2018 midterm elections,” according to James Tracy.

But what happened to Fitzsimons? As the Broward County Sheriff’s Office tweeted out the news of his death, many questioned the timing and cause, considering his pro-gun stance and apparent good health.

. . .

Fitzsimons had called in sick one day, and the next he was dead. Something seems amiss here. (Read more from “Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Who Questioned Parkland School Shooting’s Gun Confiscation Agenda Found Dead” HERE)

Obamacare Is Now So Terrible, People Aren’t Going to Their Doctors — Even When Sick

When the Affordable Care Act was passed in 2010, its supporters celebrated the legislation, calling it a landmark bill that would make Americans healthier and lower health care costs for families. Eight years later, it’s clearer than ever the ACA’s “Obamacare” exchanges have done quite the opposite. Not only are health care costs skyrocketing, the health insurance provided by Obamacare is so expensive for people to use that millions more Americans are now choosing not to go to the doctor — even when they’re sick or injured.

According to a survey by the West Health Institute and NORC at the University of Chicago, 47 percent of respondents said within the past 12 months they chose not to see a doctor or dentist because of the high cost of health care. Four-in-10 said they elected not to pursue a recommended medical treatment or test.

Even more disturbingly, 44 percent claimed they avoided seeing a doctor on at least one occasion while sick or injured because of costs. Twenty-nine percent said they chose not to see a doctor while sick or injured “more than once.” Forty percent said they are “extremely/very afraid” of getting “seriously ill” because of high health care costs.

The survey included only those who self-identified as insured. About two-thirds of respondents reported having private health insurance. Twenty-seven percent said they received their insurance from Medicare. Only 7 percent said they were enrolled in Medicaid.

These results are a dramatic departure from several similar surveys conducted over the past two decades. For instance, in 2014, the Associated Press and NORC conducted a survey that found only 19 percent of privately insured individuals choose not to go to the doctor because of costs. Only 18 percent said they avoided “preventive and recommended care.” (Read more from “Obamacare Is Now So Terrible, People Aren’t Going to Their Doctors — Even When Sick” HERE)
