NO DEAL: Trump Signals an End to DACA Compromise, Pushes GOP to Pass Strict Immigration Restrictions

Sunday morning, President Donald Trump signaled to reporters that Congressional Democrats had wasted their opportunity to come to the bargaining table over comprehensive immigration reform, and that the time for a deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Act had passed.

He also encouraged Republicans to pass strict anti-immigration legislation, likely including increased funding for Trump’s planned border wall.

Trump Tweeted early Sunday that he was growing tired of Democratic immigration policies, including the nonsensical border patrol “catch-and-release” program instituted under President Barack Obama. He punctuated his social media missive with the words, “NO DACA DEAL” in all capital letters.

According to the Washington Post, whose reporters waited to speak to the President and his wife outside Easter services at an Episcopalian church local to the couple’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, the President was very willing to elaborate on his statement, accusing Congressional Democrats of standing in the way of any potential deal to protect past and future DACA recipients. ‘No More DACA Deal,’ Trump Says as He Threatens to ‘Stop’ NAFTA If Mexico Doesn’t Better Secure Border

President Trump spent his Easter morning here on an anti-immigrant tirade, declaring Sunday that there would be no deal to legalize the status of undocumented immigrants known as “dreamers” and threatening to exit the North American Free Trade Agreement unless Mexico increases border security.

Trump thrust the future of millions of undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children into peril by promising “NO MORE DACA DEAL,” and he directed congressional Republicans to pass tough anti-immigration legislation . . .

It was Trump who last fall canceled the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which was begun in the Obama administration to provide temporary protection to dreamers. Illegal Aliens Arrested in Oregon County’s Biggest-Ever Meth Bust

Two men who were arrested earlier this month for transporting more than 70 pounds of methamphetamine through Oregon are Mexican nationals living in the U.S. illegally, The Daily Caller News Foundation learned.

Israel Mercado Mendoza of Creswell, Ore., and Rigoberto Morfin Pedroza of Los Angeles were arrested March 17 following a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Douglas County, Ore. During the stop, a police dog signaled the presence of drugs in the car. A subsequent search led to the discovery of 74 pounds of meth, the largest seizure in county history, according to the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team.

Mercado Mendoza and Morfin Pedroza are illegal immigrants, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. They were taken into custody and detained at the Douglas County Jail, where federal authorities placed immigration detention requests for both men.

“On March 19, ICE lodged detainers on Israel Salvador Mercado-Mendoza and Rigoberto Morfin-Pedroza, both citizens of Mexico illegally in the U.S., with the Douglas County Jail after their arrests on local felony charges,” an ICE spokeswoman told David Olen Cross, an independent crime researcher based in Salem, Ore.

Cross obtained the men’s immigration status as a part of his research into Oregon illegal aliens’ criminal activity, he told TheDCNF. On behalf of Republican state Sen. Kim Thatcher, Cross creates monthly reports using data from ICE and the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC). His reports are aimed at documenting the cost of incarcerating foreign nationals in the Oregon prison system, where one in 15 inmates is a criminal alien. Ethan Sonneborn, 13, participated in the March For Our Lives event earlier this month to protest against gun violence, NBC 5 reported.

“My generation has been taking an important step in this because we’re the ones were getting shot,” Sonneborn told the network. “This affects us directly and people who say it can’t happen in Vermont, we came this close to it happening in Vermont. 13-Year-Old Gubernatorial Candidate Supports Tougher Gun Laws

By NBC. An unlikely candidate for Vermont governor says he would sign legislation to tighten the state’s gun laws if he held the top office.

Ethan Sonneborn, 13, of Bristol, is running as a Democrat in 2018.

He said he took part in his school’s walk out earlier this month against gun violence.

“My generation has been taking an important step in this because we’re the ones were getting shot,” Sonneborn said. “This affects us directly and people who say it can’t happen in Vermont, we came this close to it happening in Vermont. It will happen in Vermont if we don’t take action.” . . .

Twitter Rips ‘Bully’ Chelsea Handler for Mocking White House Spokesman Sarah Sanders’ Looks in Video

By The Daily Wire. When unfunny comedian Chelsea Handler announced in October that she was leaving her unfunny show on Netflix, she said she wanted to “devote as much time as I can to becoming a more knowledgeable and engaged citizen and to focus on projects that have significance to me.”

Apparently, she’s decided that she can “participate in a more meaningful way” by shaming other women for their appearances and their weight.

Handler posted a video on Twitter that shows an actress pretending to be White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders giving tips on how to apply makeup. The four-minute video contains hilarious lines like this: “Right now my skin is dry, just like Puerto Rico before that one rainy day!”

Obama Judges Rule That 40-Foot Cross Monument Honoring Soldiers Killed in World War I Is ‘Unconstitutional’

It is quite possible that the greatest legacy of President Trump may be his tremendous success in changing the face of the American judiciary, as his record-setting performance in getting conservative jurists into the judiciary has been nothing less than stellar.

To understand how vital Trump’s actions have been, consider this: the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently refused to reconsider a 2-1 ruling of a 4th Circuit panel last fall that ruled the World War I memorial Peace Cross in Bladensburg, Maryland, was “unconstitutional.”

Never mind, as The Daily Signal pointed out, that the 40-foot cross had stood there since 1925, funded by the American Legion and local families in 1925; never mind that the cross features a plaque listing the names of 49 Prince George’s County men who were killed in World War I; the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the cross.

And here’s the key point: six of the eight judges that ruled against the cross were appointed by Barack Obama. The ruling was ultimately 8 to 6 against reconsidering the original court’s ruling. In addition, the two judges, Stephanie D. Thacker and James A. Wynn, who comprised the 2-1 majority in the October ruling, were put on the bench by Obama . . .

Here’s What Happened to Laura Ingraham’s Ratings After the Hogg Controversy

By The Blaze. According to the San Francisco Gate, Ingraham lost 6 percent of total viewers from Wednesday to Thursday, and 9 percent in the key demo of Americans aged 25 to 54.

Ingraham had 2.152 million total viewers on Thursday, down 137,000 from 2.289 million on Wednesday. This allowed MSNBC’s progressive program from Lawrence O’Donnell to steal the top spot from Ingraham in overall viewers.

Although she saw a decline in ratings overall and was overcome by MSNBC, Ingraham can console herself by knowing her show hasn’t sunk below CNN’s viewership which came in at third with only 839,000 total viewers.

Ingraham’s show has been struck with a boycott by those who were offended at her mockery of David Hogg over his not being accepted into the colleges of his choice. Laura Ingraham Announces Vacation Amid Advertiser Boycott

By CBS News. Fox News’ Laura Ingraham announced Friday she would be taking a vacation the next week to celebrate Easter with her family as advertisers have dropped her show after she criticized a Parkland school shooting survivor. Her supporters have launched the hashtag #IStandWithLaura.

In April 2017, embroiled in an advertiser boycott, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly announced he would be taking vacation for Easter. He was later fired by the network.

Eleven companies so far have withdrawn their ads from Ingraham’s Fox News program after she feuded with a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting over Twitter. The Atlantis, Paradise Island resort; Office Depot, Jenny Craig, Hulu, Nutrish, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Wayfair, StitchFix, Nestlé and Johnson & Johnson said they would pull ads from the show. Fact Check: Here’s Who Really Marched to Outlaw Guns

By The Blaze. The media narrative is wrong again. Based on survey research from the March for Our Lives, the Washington Post says the crowd of anti-gun protesters was not mostly young people . . .

Despite the perception that teens are leading this push for gun control, the average adult in the March for Our Lives crowd was around 49 years old.

The research team uses a system of going through the crowd to sample every fifth person at certain increments with the event area. For the March for Our Lives, the researchers collected information from 256 randomly selected people.

Glenn’s take:

“It was 90 percent [older people] and you never saw that represented on TV. You’ve only seen the young people,” Glenn said. “How do you shoot around an audience that is 90 percent middle-aged?”

Report: Only 10 Percent of D.C. March for Our Lives Protesters Were Under 18

By Washington Free Beacon. Only about a tenth of participants in the March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. over the weekend were actually minors, according to a sociology professor’s analysis.

University of Maryland professor Dana R. Fisher has been surveying rallies and protests in the nation’s capital since Donald Trump’s inauguration in preparation for an upcoming book on the “Resistance” to the president. In a Washington Post analysis published Wednesday, she detailed how she randomly sampled 256 attendees of the gun-control rally . . .

Fisher found that the march did manage to draw in a higher-than-average percentage of first-time protesters, about 27 percent. But of those first-timers, only 12 percent said they were motivated by the issue of gun control, with over half saying they were motivated by Trump or “peace” in general. Microsoft Warns Customers: Watch What You Say When Using Our Products – or Else

We can now add a new Microsoft policy of punishing account users who use “offensive language” while logged into one of their products or services to the growing list of draconian measures employed by tech companies to police online content.

In a release summarizing the new policy, which will go into effect May 1, Microsoft stated:

In the Code of Conduct section, we’ve clarified that use of offensive language and fraudulent activity is prohibited.

Microsoft stated that they may temporarily suspend or boot offending users permanently from their products. They also reserve the right to search through user content.

The company’s code of conduct was written to crack down on spam, the transmission of malware, child exploitation, and illegal activity. So far, Microsoft has not been explicit about what will constitute offensive language.

Users expect the policy to have the biggest effect on Xbox Live players, who are known to troll each other during games. But other Microsoft customers worry the new code of conduct could restrict free speech on platforms like Skype and OneDrive.

Civil rights activist Jonathan Corbett challenged the company in a blog post, writing:

So wait a sec: I can’t use Skype to have an adult video call with my girlfriend? I can’t use OneDrive to back up a document that says ‘f–k’ in it? What’s clear here is that Microsoft is reserving the right to cancel your account whenever they feel like it.

While users commenting on Reddit claim the policy is really nothing new, many Microsoft customers and tech users fear the move is a pretext for censoring people. It adds to an intensifying debate regarding tech companies and social media companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google tweaking their algorithms to control page reach and enacting measures that restrict creative expression and free speech. Some journalists claim the Big 5 tech companies — Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon — as well as other information gatekeepers, are taking censorship cues from Washington lawmakers and acting as the de facto face of repressive government. ‘South Park’ Creators Stun Liberal Group While Receiving Award – the Crowd Hated This

“South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker finally came out of the closet to confess that they are secretly… Republicans!

Stone and Parker made the admission to radio host Larry Elder after receiving a “freedom award” from the People for the American Way Foundation, a liberal group founded by TV producer Norman Lear. Elder shared the bombshell revelation on Twitter.

Elder recounted: “Trey Parker & Matt Stone of @SouthPark asked me to introduce them when they received a ‘freedom’ award from Norman Lear’s organization. After they graciously accepted, they said, ‘We’re Republicans.’ Nervous laughter. They repeated, ‘No, seriously, we’re Republicans.’”

On its website, the People of the Way Foundation calls itself a “progressive advocacy organization founded to fight right-wing extremism.” The group is virulently anti-Republican and anti-Trump, and it’s unclear why exactly it honored Stone and Parker.

Suffice it to say that “South Park” has been an equal-opportunity offender over the years, taking brutal jabs at liberals, conservatives, political correctness, and identity politics. No one is spared, and that’s perhaps a major reason why the cartoon sitcom has been a runaway success since its debut in 1997. SICK: ‘Crazed Girls’ Are Flooding the Parkland Shooter With Fan Mail

By The Daily Wire. The Parkland, Florida mass shooter is receiving “stacks of fan mail and love letters” from “crazed girls,” grown women and “even some men,” the Florida Sun-Sentinel reports, and has now received hundreds of dollars in unsolicited contributions to help fund his prison needs.

Even creepier than the mere fact that the shooter is receiving fan mail is, apparently, the letters’ contents. Deputies at the Broward County jail, where the shooter is being held pending trial, report that he receives “cute greeting cards,” “notes of friendship and encouragement,” and plenty of lewd photos.

Some of the letters are part of coordinated letter-writing campaigns, organized on “groupie” Facebook pages dedicated to the shooter, which also sell bracelets and t-shirts members can wear to express their public support.

“I’m 18-years-old. I’m a senior in high school. When I saw your picture on the television, something attracted me to you,” read one of the letters, according to the Sun-Sentinel, which was allowed to view select pieces of the shooter’s mail. “Your eyes are beautiful and the freckles on your face make you so handsome. …I’m really skinny and have 34C sized breasts.” (Read more from “SICK: ‘Crazed Girls’ Are Flooding the Parkland Shooter With Fan Mail” HERE)

Parkland School Shooter’s Brother Agrees to Plea Deal on Trespassing Charge

By ABC Local 10. The brother of the Parkland school shooter has been released from jail after agreeing to a plea deal on a trespassing charge.

Zachary Cruz pleaded no contest Thursday during a hearing in which his attorneys prepared to argue that his $500,000 bond amount was excessive.

“The defendant is to be adjudicated guilty of the offense and be placed on six months of probation,” prosecutor Sarahnell Murphy said in announcing the terms of the plea deal.

Broward County Judge Melinda Kirsch Brown also ordered that Cruz enroll in therapy, wear a GPS monitor and said he cannot possess firearms or ammunition.
