FBI Doubling the Number of Agents Dedicated to Supplying Info on Clinton Investigation

By The Blaze. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is stepping up efforts to comply with a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee by doubling the number of staffers committed to the task.

FBI director Christopher Wray says he’ll cooperate with the request to provide documents showing how his agency investigated Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, but he asked for more time to do so.

A summons was issued last week by Virginia Republican congressman Bob Goodlatte, requesting not only evidence from the Clinton probe, but also documentation relating to the firing of former agency deputy director Andrew McCabe as well as potential FISA abuses.

Wray announced in a statement on Tuesday that “Up until today, we have dedicated 27 FBI staff to review the records. The actual number of documents responsive to this request is likely in the thousands. Regardless, I agree that the current pace of production is too slow.”

So the director said they’ll step up the pace, saying he was “doubling the number of assigned FBI staff, for a total of 54, to cover two shifts per day from 8am to midnight to expedite completion of this project.” (Read more from “FBI Doubling the Number of Agents Dedicated to Supplying Info on Clinton Investigation” HERE)

FBI Director: Bureau Will Cooperate With Subpoena on Clinton Email Probe

By The Washington Times. FBI Director Christopher Wray said the bureau will cooperate with a House Judiciary Committee subpoena for documents on how it handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

But Mr. Wray said in a statement issued late Tuesday the bureau will need more time to produce the “thousands” of documents. To speed up the process, Mr. Wray has doubled the number of workers reviewing the records to 54 from 27 and has authorized two shifts per day from 8:00 am to 12:00 am.

“I agree the current pace of production is too slow,” Mr. Wray said.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Virginia Republican, issued the summons last week. He, along with Rep Trey Gowdy, House Oversight Committee chairman and South Carolina Republican, are probing whether political bias influenced how the FBI handled the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s use of a private email server. President Trump and his allies have alleged Obama-era holdovers in the FBI have covered for Mrs. Clinton. Former Disney Star Joins White House Press Team

By CNN. The White House press office is getting a bit more Sunshine these days — former Disney Channel star Caroline Sunshine, that is. She’s joining the team as a press assistant . . .

She applied to the internship through the White House’s website . . .

President Donald Trump in recent weeks has hired other staff with cable television backgrounds; CNBC host Larry Kudlow was tapped earlier this month as head of the White House National Economic Council and John Bolton, a Fox News analyst, will be the next national security adviser.

Color Me Shocked, Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer Utters the One Sentence All Trump Supporters Were Waiting to Hear

By Bizpac Review. Michael Avenatti, the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, said on “CBS This Morning” Wednesday that his client would be willing to accept a settlement in her lawsuit, which seeks to void a 2016 nondisclosure agreement regarding her alleged affair with President Trump.

“If they came to you with a settlement in this case, would you accept it?” co-host Anthony Mason asked.

“I think we would consider it, I would converse with my client,” Avanatti replied. “It would depend on the terms of a settlement. But at this point, I don’t see how the case gets resolved short of the truth coming out.”

Responding to Gayle King’s question about whether the lawsuit is “politically motivated” and an effort to “embarrass” the president, the attorney said:

“It’s just simply not true. I’m not involved in politics. I’m representing my client. The president and [Trump lawyer Michael] Cohen are the ones that have spread half-truths and falsities about my client.

Daniels’ Spurs Settlement Talks After Filing Request to Depose Trump

By Newsweek. Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti said in an interview with CBS This Morning that he and his client would consider a settlement in their lawsuit against President Donald Trump and attorney Michael Cohen —but both would prefer for “the truth to come out.”

“I think we would consider it. I would converse with my client,” the adult film star’s lawyer said Wednesday. “It would depend on the terms of a settlement. But at this point, I don’t see how the case gets resolved short of the truth coming out.”

Avenatti’s discussion of a potential settlement comes on the same day the attorney filed a formal request to depose Trump and Cohen about the $130,000 paid to Daniels in October 2016. The hush agreement was made in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair she had with the business mogul in 2006-2007.

“We’re only getting started,” Avenatti told CBS This Morning host Gayle King. He also accused Cohen of “thuggish behavior” and using “intimidation tactics” to “step on little people.”

“Mr. Cohen and the president better be very careful what they come out and state regarding my client,” said Avenatti, who has been going from talk show to talk show to discuss the case. (Read more from “Daniels’ Spurs Settlement Talks After Filing Request to Depose Trump” HERE)

Mass Shooter’s Father Was FBI Informant

By Bizpac Review. Mateen killed 49 people at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Fla., in 2016, and his wife in now on trial, accused of aiding the gunman in the attack — the case has garnered little interest from the left because details fail to support the established narrative that the LGBT community was targeted.

The motion was filed by lawyers representing Mateen’s widow, Noor Salman, and it states that they were contacted on Saturday by prosecutors, who told them Mateen’s father, Seddique Mateen, was an FBI source from 2005 to June 2016, CNN reported.

The elder Mateen is being investigated for money transfers between March 16, 2016, and June 5, 2016, to Turkey and Afghanistan, according to the network. Evidence was discovered in his home the day of the Pulse attack . . .

The defense also said Seddique’s FBI connection was a factor in a 2013 investigation into Omar Mateen for allegedly threatening coworkers.

The motion stated: “Mateen’s father played a significant role in the FBI’s decision not to seek an indictment from the Justice Department for false statements to the FBI or obstruction of justice against Omar Mateen.” (Read more from “Mass Shooter’s Father Was FBI Informant” HERE)

Judge Denies Motion to Drop Case Against Widow of Pulse Gunman

By CNN. A judge has denied a motion for dismissal by lawyers for the widow of the Pulse gunman after they said new details from prosecutors reveal the shooter’s father was an FBI informant who is currently under a criminal investigation.

The judge said the fact that Omar Mateen’s father worked as an FBI informant was not relevant to the case against Noor Salman.

According to a motion filed by the defense, Assistant US Attorney Sara Sweeney sent an email to the defense on Saturday — in the middle of Salman’s trial — that stated Seddique Mateen was a confidential FBI source at various points in time between January 2005 through June 2016.

The email also stated that Seddique Mateen is being investigated for money transfers to Turkey and Afghanistan after documents were found in his home on June 12, 2016, the day of the Pulse attack. The dates of the money transfers were between March 16, 2016, and June 5, 2016, according to the email. (Read more from “Judge Denies Motion to Drop Case Against Widow of Pulse Gunman” HERE)

One ’60 Minutes’ Accusation Could Get Stormy Daniels in Trouble; Lawyer Demands Apology and Retraction

After Stormy Daniels’ national interview on “60 Minutes,” where the aging porn star shared details of an alleged one night stand with now-President Donald Trump over a decade ago, to include the dramatic claim that her life was threatened, a key player in the story immediately fired back.

The lawyer representing Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime personal attorney, sent a cease and desist letter Sunday night demanding that Daniels refrain from making further “false and defamatory” statements about Cohen, and requested a retraction and apology for the comments she made in the interview . . .

Brent Blakely, who represents Cohen, told Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti in the letter that his client had nothing to do with the alleged threat that Daniels said came from “a guy” in a parking lot, who warned her, “Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.”

“In truth, Mr. Cohen had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any such person or incident, and does not even believe that any such person exists, or that such incident ever occurred,” Blakely wrote.

“You and your client’s false statements about Mr. Cohen accuse him of criminal conduct and constitute, among other claims, libel per se and intentional infliction of emotional distress.” (Read more from “One ’60 Minutes’ Accusation Could Get Stormy Daniels in Trouble; Lawyer Demands Apology and Retraction” HERE)

Former Al Qaeda Hostage Says He Was Betrayed by FBI – Here’s Why

A photojournalist who was captured by Al Qaeda in Syria claims that he was betrayed by the FBI under former bureau directors Comey And Mueller in order that the bureau could gather more information about terrorists . . .

“Not every FBI agent is bad. Some are very good people,” Schrier said. “But the ones that are bad need to be weeded out. And the ones who let them be bad, and who turn their head, need to be exposed.”

Schrier wants answers from the FBI agents who handled his case, and especially Robert Mueller, who was the director of the FBI during his captivity. Mueller now leads the special counsel investigation into Russian election interference and alleged collusion with the Trump campaign . . .

James Comey took over for Mueller at the FBI in 2013, but Schrier says that they continued to stonewall him and not answer his demands . . .

Schrier had been imprisoned and tortured by al Nusra, an Al Qaeda franchise, and used his accounts to buy computers, laptops, and other supplies. Schrier says that the government slipped up and admitted they were monitoring his financial accounts, but did nothing to help him.

Obama Whines About the Internet Giving News He Doesn’t Like

Speaking at the Fourth Global Opinion Leaders Summit in Japan over the weekend, former President Barack Obama lamented the wide array of news sources that exist now as opposed to the days when three television networks controlled the dispensing of news, opined that his administration had shut the Iranian nuclear program down, and bragged about his “calm” demeanor.

Obama complained about the rise of the internet and the plethora of news sites nowadays:

There’s a viciousness to politics and a polarization — very sharp lines that are drawn that make it more difficult to govern. And some of the reason for that is, I think because of information. It used to be that in the United States that there were three television stations, basically everybody watched the same thing, everybody got their news from the same sources, and so everybody had more or less a similar view of the world. But today because of, first cable television, and then now the internet, people have 500 channels to choose from. And they are able to find the news that fits their views instead of fitting their views to the news, so that they are very biased in terms of how they see things.

Man Who Allegedly Had Weapons Stockpile Says He Was on Government Mission

A Texas man who was arrested Sunday after police said they found a weapons stockpile that included an AK-47, AR-15 and bump stock in his hotel room told investigators that he was on a classified government mission, The Lowell Sun reported.

Francho S. Bradley, 59, and Adrianne D. Jennings, 40, were taken into custody after Bradley called police to the hotel room to report that someone was breaking in. Police responded and found the weapons, the report said . . .

Bradley reportedly told investigators about the secret government mission but refused to go into detail. The couple had allegedly driven from Texas to Massachusetts with the weapons.

The report said the couple faces eight counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, three counts of possession of a silencer and other charges including possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a bump stock.

The two are being held without bail after being arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court in connection with a large seizure of weapons. (Read more from “Man Who Allegedly Had Weapons Stockpile Says He Was on Government Mission” HERE)

Pro-Gun Parkland Survivor Attacks ‘March for Our Lives’ With Bombshell Statement

. . .While teenagers mouthing the liberal line are featured on CNN, making the cover of Time magazine, and enjoying sympathetic interviews on NPR, one junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, wasn’t taking part in Saturday’s “March for Our Lives” festivities in Washington, or in cities around the country.

Because Kyle Kashuv, and students like him, are committing the one unforgivable sin in politically correct American culture: They think for themselves.

And Kashuv, a 16-year-old who spent two hours in a closet on the day a 19-year-old gunman started killing people on the Parkland, Florida, campus, has an opinion that’s different from the ones his more celebrated classmates are espousing.

While CNN blankets the liberal marchers with favorable coverage, and the rest of the media pretends that all young Americans are in lockstep with blaming the National Rifle Association for mass killings that the NRA has nothing to do with, Kashuv has been getting much less attention in his attacks on the march, its organizers, and the essential premise that guns are the real problem in America.

In an interview with Fox News, he cited the “March for Our Lives” website and its inclusion of a petition to ban the sale of so-called “assault weapons,” which these days tends to mainly mean the AR-15 – a rifle liberals love to hate because they can actually name it. McCabe ADMITS He Misled Investigators

By Bizpac Review. Fired deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, an Obama holdover, admitted that some of his answers to investigators “were not fully accurate,” and blamed it on his being “confused and distracted.”

“Some of my answers were not fully accurate,” McCabe confessed in a Washington Post op-ed. “At worst, I was not clear in my responses, and because of what was going on around me, may well have been confused and distracted — and for that I take full responsibility. But that is not a lack of candor.”

McCabe was recently fired by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions (who oversees the FBI) on the recommendation of Obama-appointed Inspector General Michael Horowitz. Investigators concluded that McCabe lied to the FBI regarding his 2016 decision to leak intel to the Wall Street Journal about the Hillary Clinton email probe.

Lying to the FBI — especially if you’re its deputy director — is a serious matter. You can be jailed for 5 years for lying to the FBI, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 1001. So basically, McCabe is now conceding that he was not 100% truthful, but claimed, “I did not knowingly mislead or lie to investigators.”

McCabe, an attorney, claimed his misleading statements did not amount to lying, even though the FBI’s own Office of Professional Responsibility determined otherwise. (Read more from “McCabe ADMITS He Misled Investigators” HERE)

‘I Went Through Hell’: Former FBI Agent Says Andrew McCabe ‘Targeted’, ‘Slandered’ Her

By Fox News Insider. A former FBI counterterrorism agent reacted to an op-ed written by recently-fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

“Not in my worst nightmares did I dream my FBI career would end this way,” McCabe entitled his Washington Post piece published Friday.

Robyn Gritz, who said she served 16 years with the bureau fighting terrorism, told “Fox & Friends” that she celebrated McCabe’s dismissal and that it brought back memories of how he allegedly mistreated her . . .

She said McCabe retaliated against her for filing a harassment claim against one of her supervisors.

Gritz said that, while working as a “detailee” to the CIA, her boss began “scrutinizing [her] work and asking questions” about her purportedly being “fragile” after her divorce. (Read more from “‘I Went Through Hell’: Former FBI Agent Says Andrew McCabe ‘Targeted’, ‘Slandered’ Her” HERE)
