“Everyone is Scared of Fox”: Reporter Quits Daily Caller After Column on Fox News’ Support for Amnesty was Yanked

By Daniel Byers. The blogger Mickey Kaus has quit his job at The Daily Caller after the conservative site’s editor-in-chief, Tucker Carlson, pulled a critical column about Fox News from the site, Kaus told the On Media blog on Tuesday.

“It’s pretty simple,” Kaus said in an interview, “I wrote a piece attacking Fox for not being the opposition on immigration and amnesty — for filling up the airwaves with reports on ISIS and terrorism, and not fulfilling their responsibility of being the opposition on amnesty and immigration…. I posted it at 6:30 in the morning. When I got up, Tucker had taken it down. He said, ‘We can’t trash Fox on the site. I work there.'”

Carlson, who co-founded The Daily Caller in 2010, is a conservative contributor to Fox News and the host of its weekend edition of “Fox & Friends.”

Kaus says when he told Carlson he needed to be able to write about Fox, Carlson told him it was a hard-and-fast rule, and non-negotiable. (Read more from “Mickey Kaus Quits Daily Caller After Tucker Carlson Pulls Critical Fox News Column” HERE)

“Everyone Is Scared of Fox”: Why Mickey Kaus Quit the Daily Caller

By Andrew Prokop. A well-known blogger has quit his job at the conservative website the Daily Caller — because his employer wouldn’t let him criticize Fox News . . .

Kaus argued that this was a symptom of a larger dynamic in the conservative movement, telling Byers, “Everybody is scared of Fox. … Fox is their route to a high-profile public image and in some cases stardom. Just to be on a Fox show is a big deal. And I think that’s a problem on the right, Fox’s monopoly on star-making power.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Air Force Veteran Charged with Attempting to Join ISIS [+video]

A former avionics specialist with the U.S. Air Force is accused of attempting to join the Islamic State.

Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh, 47, was charged in federal court in Brooklyn on Monday.

Pugh, who worked for several companies as an airplane mechanic, had been living overseas for one year before he was arrested in January while in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

New York News

“Born and raised in the United States, Pugh allegedly turned his back on his country and attempted to travel to Syria in order to join a terrorist organization,” U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch said in a statement. “We will continue to vigorously prosecute extremists, whether based here or abroad, to stop them before they are able to threaten the United States and its allies.”

On January 10, Pugh traveled from Egypt to Turkey in an effort to cross the border into Syria to join ISIL, according to the federal complaint. (Read more from “Air Force Veteran Charged with Attempting to Join ISIS” HERE)

Traitor-in-Chief Removes Iran from Terror List, Praises it for Fighting Terrorism

You know the country responsible for killing hundreds of marines, which provided sanctuary to Al Qaeda and whose terrorist proxies helped give Al Qaeda the skills to carry out 9/11?

They’re no longer terrorists. Sure their terrorist groups currently control parts of Lebanon and Yemen, but they’re not terrorists. Because if Iran was a state sponsor of terror, then Obama letting them have the bomb might look bad. This way it’s fine.

An annual report delivered recently to the US Senate by James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, removed Iran and Hezbollah from its list of terrorism threats, after years in which they featured in similar reports

In describing Iran’s regional role, the report noted the Islamic Republic’s “intentions to dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia,” but cautioned that “Iranian leaders—particularly within the security services—are pursuing policies with negative secondary consequences for regional stability and potentially for Iran.

The only time the report mentions Hezbollah is when describing it as a victim of attacks. (Read more from “Obama Removes Iran from Terror List, Praises it for Fighting Terrorism” HERE)

Corporate Greed Behind Push for H-1B Visas as Multinational Corps Fire Americans, Hire Immigrants

Massive layoffs are being spearheaded by the multi-billion dollar Southern California Edison utilities company, which is terminating scores of American IT workers and replacing them with immigrant IT workers, from a slew of foreign counties, who are willing to work for far less compensation. These immigrants are in the U.S. on an H-1B visa program.

“We don’t need foreign workers. We have plenty of Americans who are fully capable and equipped to carry out these jobs. It’s an absolute issue of corporate greed; nothing more nothing less,” former Edison employee and Marine Pat Lavin told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview late last week.

Lavin is a stalwart Democrat who serves as a business manager and financial secretary for the the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #47. “Edison are master liars,” Lavin cautioned, quipping that he “caught them telling the truth last week and they tried to lie their way out of it.”

Lavin spoke with Breitbart News as one of the California Edison workers laid off in the scandal that Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) have hammered the company for. Grassley called the layoffs “heartless” and Issa argued that this appears to be an abuse of the program.

America is facing a surplus of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workers who are unemployed or have been laid off from work due to companies, like SoCal Edison, that have been outsourcing American jobs to immigrants. According to an article from Robert Charette in IEEE Spectrum, the so-called “STEM Crisis”—where tech leaders like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who claim they need to import cheap foreign labor—is a “myth.” (Read more from “Union Official Says ‘Corporate Greed’ Behind Push for H-1B Visas” HERE)

Obama’s Secretary of the Army Withdraws Officer’s Silver Star, Congress Outraged

A group of House lawmakers is moving to strip the armed services’ civilian leaders of the power to revoke combat valor awards in response to Army Secretary John McHugh unilaterally canceling the Silver Star, one of the military’s highest honors, for a former Green Beret officer.

Mr. McHugh took the action against Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, who braved repeated enemy fire in Afghanistan, even though he has not been charged with any offenses. The Army now is seeking to release him with a less-than-honorable discharge. The officer plans to fight the move, his attorney says.

The secretary acted after the CIA informed the Army that Maj. Golsteyn, during a polygraph exam for a job application, told of killing a terrorist who was making improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the weapon that has killed more Americans in Afghanistan than any other. The Army also removed Maj. Golsteyn from the elite ranks of the Green Berets.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, the California Republican who is spearheading the restrictive legislation, says he wants to prevent service secretaries from retaliating against personnel by stripping their awards in cases where there is insufficient evidence to charge them for nonjudicial, or court-martial, punishment.

“Secretary McHugh made a political decision,” Mr. Hunter said. “He used his power as a weapon to retaliate against a soldier when the Army was unable to prove an allegation.” (Read more from “Army’s Withdrawal of Officer’s Silver Star Sparks Ire of Congress” HERE)

New U.S. Stealth Bomber Shrouded in Mystery

Nearly 30 years after the first U.S. stealth bomber took flight, the Air Force’s aging fleet is primed for a makeover; albeit an expensive one.

The Pentagon is looking to upgrade its stealth aircraft for the first time since the 1970s, developing a high-priority, super-classified, next-generation bomber.

The Air Force plans to award a contract to build and develop the Long Range Strike Bomber to one of the industry’s most powerful firms later this year and hopes to integrate them into the fleet by the mid-2020s.

Competing for the prize are Northrop Grumman, the developer of the Air Force’s current bomber, the B-2, and a partnership between aeronautic juggernauts Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

Before the House Armed Services Committee earlier this month, William LaPlante, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, suggested the Air Force will offer a “cost-plus” contract to the winning firm, meaning the government will take on the risk of any cost overrun. Team Obama Mocks ‘Embarrassing’ GOP in March Madness-Style Fundraiser

President Obama’s former campaign operation is asking supporters to choose the most “embarrassing” Republican climate change deniers in a March Madness-style fundraising email.

Organizing For Action sent the “Climate Change Fantasy Tournament” message to liberal supporters Monday, asking them to choose among the “Embarrassing Eight,” modeled after the popular playoff brackets in which college basketball fans try to pick the winner of the annual NCAA tournament.

The GOP roster includes Speaker John Boeher of Ohio, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Senate Environment and Public Works Chairman James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, a potential 2016 presidential candidate.

“We’re getting even closer to crowning our champion, the worst climate change denier in the country,” said Jim Messina, Mr. Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, in the email. “These folks have made it this far because they’re deeply committed to publicly denying the science behind climate change.”

He said the advocacy group will “make sure we celebrate the winner — in a very public way — back in their home district.” (Read more from “Team Obama Mocks ‘Embarrassing’ GOP in March Madness-Style Fundraiser” HERE)

More Islamic Connections: Hillary’s Hezbollah-Friendly Donor

The Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation accepted millions of dollars from a former deputy prime minister of Lebanon known for defending Hezbollah, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis.

Issam Fares, a Lebanese billionaire who has established himself in the United States as a prominent philanthropist, has given between $1 and $5 million in donations to the Clintons’ foundation with donations coming as recently as last year, according to a public donor disclosure list on the foundation’s website.

Fares was a part of the pro-Syria government of Prime Minister Omar Karami during his tenure as deputy prime minister between 2000 and 2005.

“It seems the Zionist lobby in the United States and its agents in the region were displeased and worried that certain Lebanese and Arab personalities have a friendly relationship with some senior officials of the new American administration,” Fares was quoted as saying in a 2001 statement after questions were raised about his relationship with incoming U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Fares decried comparisons drawn between the terrorist organization al Qaeda and Hezbollah after the September 11 terror attacks. (Read more from “Hillary’s Hezbollah-Friendly Donor” HERE)

American Who Contracted Ebola Now in Critical Condition

An American health care worker who contracted Ebola while volunteering in a Sierra Leone treatment unit has been downgraded to critical condition at the National Institutes of Health, doctors said Monday.

The agency said in a statement that the patient’s status was changed from serious condition. He is being treated at the National Institutes of Health’s hospital near Washington.

“We are intensively treating the patient,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at NIH. “He’s in our special clinical studies unit and, hopefully, that will be able to turn this around and the patient will recover, but it’s too early to say.”

The patient was flown in isolation from Sierra Leone on a chartered plane last week and arrived early Friday morning. His name and age have not been released.

The man is a clinician working with Partners in Health, a Boston-based nonprofit organization. The group has been treating patients in Liberia and Sierra Leone since November. (Read more from “American Who Contracted Ebola Now in Critical Condition” HERE)

Here’s What Rand Paul Has to Say About Jeb Bush

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush as a “Democrat-light” who’s “almost like Hillary Clinton but not quite,” in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News at the South By Southwest conference.

Paul also laid out his vision for his pathway to victory, should he jump in with a race for the White House as many expect him to—and explained how he plans to build a unique coalition of voters to win the GOP nomination and then the general election.

Paul told Breitbart News:

“We believe that the message of ‘leave me alone’ that forms sort of the ‘leave me alone coalition’ forms this group of people that we think supports the things I’m trying to do is a big enough and broad enough coalition to win in a Republican primary but is also a big enough and broad enough to bring independents and others afterwards. There are two different tactics you could try to do if you want to bring in independents: You could be Democrat-light and run the Jeb Bush campaign that’s uncomfortable with the grassroots of your party and you could run this campaign that’s like ‘I’m almost like Hillary Clinton but not quite’ and then you can get the independents or I think you could run a truly principled campaign as a Constitutional conservative but also still show how the message that big government messes everything up from business to taxes to regulation also can be applied to criminal justice. That big government messes up criminal justice and doesn’t treat people fairly because big government is incompetent. Big government is incapable of feting out justice sometimes because it is too large. So I think there is a possibility, a great possibility, a truly principled Constitutional limited government conservative message, could resonate out to a bigger audience. We try to take it everywhere. We also try to go where Republicans haven’t been going, to the tech community, to historically black colleges, to Berkeley, to places like that with a hope of showing that we can broaden the message. That’s what people will want if we’re the nominee.”
