L.A. Officials Pledge to Raise $10 Million to Help Illegal Aliens

Photo Credit: Washington Times By L.A. Times. Los Angeles leaders said Friday they hope to raise $10 million to help immigrants in the country illegally apply for President Obama’s deferred action programs, which would offer some protection from deportation.

Mayor Eric Garcetti said it’s important that the nearly half a million people eligible for immigration relief in the Los Angeles area apply for the programs. The mayor announced the plan during an event at his home with immigrant advocates and a top immigration enforcement official.

“It will make our communities and our streets safer,” said Garcetti, who added that the goal is to help at least 100,000 immigrants apply.

The plan is a joint effort between the city of Los Angeles and the California Community Foundation, a philanthropy group that often works on immigration issues. The group’s director, Antonia Hernandez, said her organization has already raised $5 million from organizations including the Weingart Foundation and the California Endowment. Illegal Aliens Released From Custody Committed 1,000 New Crimes

One thousand of the 36,000 illegal immigrant criminals the government released in 2013 have gone on to commit other crimes, including child sex abuse, hit-and-run and child cruelty, according to new data released Friday evening by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley.

The information, which the Department of Homeland Security provided to Mr. Grassley, details all 1,000 convictions, including dozens of drunken-driving convictions, drug offenses and weapons convictions. But the more serious crimes include domestic abuse, carjacking and aggravated assault.

One of the illegal immigrants, identified as No. 960, was subsequently convicted of inflicting injury on a domestic partner; child cruelty, with the possibility of injury or death; probation violations; speeding; driving without a license; and failing to appear for court.

“The Obama administration claims that it is using ‘prosecutorial discretion’ to prioritize the removal of criminal aliens from this country. But this report shows the disturbing truth: 1,000 undocumented aliens previously convicted of crimes who the administration released in 2013 have gone on to commit further crimes in our communities,” Mr. Grassley said. 11-Year-Old Uses Shotgun on Intruder in Home Invasion

Photo Credit: Mlive An 11-year-old girl was able to scare off a suspect — later taken into custody — during a home invasion in Lapeer County’s North Branch Township.

Deputies from the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department responded around 3:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 to a Five Lakes Road home where the girl was home alone when a vehicle pulled into the driveway.

A Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office news release states one person knocked on all the doors and forced their way inside the home when there was no response. The girl locked herself inside a bathroom and hid in a closet with a shotgun.

The suspect eventually opened the bathroom door and closet where the child was hiding with the weapon. The girl aimed the shotgun at the suspect, who then fled from the home. (Read more about the home invasion HERE)

Georgia Man Accused of Killing Five Found in Mississippi

A Georgia man accused of murdering five people, including his wife and other family members, was taken into custody Monday night in Mississippi, authorities said.

Thomas Jesse Lee, 26, of Troup County, Ga., was the subject of a nationwide manhunt after the five bodies were discovered in their suburban home in LaGrange, Ga. on Saturday. He was taken into custody in Tupelo, Miss., Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff announced Monday night.

Troup County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Stewart Smith told FoxNews.com that Lee traveled to a church in Alcorn County in northeast Mississippi, where he sought assistance because he was out of money. The church, not knowing who he was, purchased a bus ticket for him to go to Alabama, near where his family lives, Smith said.

Soon after, a pastor heard about the manhunt for Lee from media reports, and contacted authorities, who took him into custody at a bus station in Tupelo . . .

He faces five counts of murder when he’s extradited to Troup County, Smith said, adding that authorities were anxious to speak with him to determine why he allegedly killed his family members. (Read more about the Georgia man HERE)

Patriot’s Coach Wears “Don’t Tread on Me” Shirt into Super Bowl; Supporters Called Racist

His shirt included an image from the famed Revolutionary War Gadsden flag, a mainstay of the modern Tea Party movement.

According to Wikipedia, “The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words “Dont tread on me”. The flag is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution.”

Liberal Magazine: If You Rooted for the Patriots You’re Racist

The most recent salvo of Pats-hate comes from noted liberal-weekly, The Nation, which decided to abandon any and all shreds of journalistic bias in favor of declaring the Seattle Seahawks as America’s chosen team. The Deflate-Gate scandal has been revealed as a smoke and mirrors effort to undermine the house that Belichick built, and at this point in the game, these last futile proclamations from the self-proclaimed “flagship of the left” are not only easy to see through, but just flat-out repetitive.

For starters, the article’s main argument is basically as follows: “The NFL is part of a changing, more socially-conscious America, and if you aren’t pulling for the Seahawks, it’s probably because you’re a racist.”

NFL Falsified ‘Deflate Gate’

By Christian Datoc. As the Deflate-Gate case against the New England Patriots continues to fall apart, multiple “anonymous leaks” have come forward to clear the Pats’ name, and the most recent source might officially end the conversation for good.

Earlier in the week, an anonymous leak claimed that the NFL lied when it originally reported 11 of the 12 Patriots’ balls were under-inflated by 2 pounds per square inch. The leak claimed that in reality, the balls were found to be between 1-2 pounds below the league limit for PSI. (Read more from this story HERE)

Unbelievable: Madden NFL 2015 Precisely Predicted Patriots’ 28-24 Win Over Seahawks

Incredibly, as we reported last week, the Madden NFL simulation between the two teams returned the exact same score. In the last twelve years of the simulations, Madden NFL has correctly predicted nine of the Super Bowl champions. That’s a pretty impressive accuracy rate of 75%. But the simulation has never before predicted the Super Bowl score to the point until today.


Here’s some more background on Madden NFL:

Since 2004, EA games has run a simulation of the Super Bowl using the latest game in the Madden NFL series and announced the result. The game simulations conducted by EA have correctly predicted nine of the last twelve Super Bowl winners . . . EA also releases a computer-generated description of the simulated game as if it were a summary of the real Super Bowl.

Wisconsin Judge Orders Police to Snatch People Off the Streets for Jury Duty

A judge in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin ran out of potential candidates for jury duty, so he sent the sheriff to randomly pick up people off the street and force them into jury duty. And under Wisconsin law, it’s perfectly legal.

According to WBBH (Fort Myers), Eau Claire County Circuit Court Judge Michael Schumacher was presiding over a case – the specifics of what kind of case have not been made clear, as of this post – when the jury pool ran dry. He then had his clerk, Susan Schaffer, contact Sheriff Ron Cramer, to randomly pull people off the streets and impress them into jury duty.

Raw Story explains that sheriff’s deputies approached adults who appeared to be over 18 randomly on the streets, and asked them if they had any prior felony convictions. They were then told to write down some information, and drive themselves to the courthouse. Those who failed would be met with a deputy at their door to forcibly bring them to the courthouse.

Schaffer explains that forced jury roundups are rare, but necessary . . .

Although being randomly forced into jury duty sounds horrifying, it’s perfectly legal in Wisconsin. Under Wisconsin’s “Insufficient Jurors” statute – which is rarely invoked – judges have the right to dispatch the police to randomly impress people into jury duty. Tranny Insanity: NYC Birth Certificates Asking the Unthinkable

Along with routine questions — mother’s maiden name, mother’s legal name, mother’s Social Security number — is a gender question that has raised a few eyebrows.

And just in case the inquiry is not clear, the birth-certificate request provides a convenient check box and asks the question in capital letters. “What is your DATE OF BIRTH, current AGE and SEX?” the form asks in the section clearly marked “Mother/Parent (Woman Giving Birth).”

“To be clear, it is possible for a person who has given birth to a child to identify as male,” said Susan Sommer, a lawyer for Lambda Legal, an advocacy group for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people.

Female College Student Saves Boyfriend’s Life With Gun

Photo Credit: Wesh By Gail Paschall-Brown. Two burglars were thwarted by a University of Central Florida student with a gun, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the culprits barged into the student’s apartment after knocking on the door at the Village at Alafaya Club Tuesday night.

One of the residents answered the door and was forced to the ground at gunpoint as the men ransacked the apartment, investigators said.

“He grabbed me by the throat. He took me a little further into the living room and pushed me down and said, ‘Don’t move. Just stay down,'” UCF student Nour Skargee, 22, said. “They didn’t realize my girlfriend was in her room and thank God she was in her room. I yelled, ‘Hey, grab the gun.’ . . .

“I quickly closed my door and locked it to get some extra time to get the gun,” Nehme said. “He immediately, when he saw the gun, turned right back around, darted out and both of them fled the apartment.” (Read more about the female college student saving her boyfriends life HERE)

Man Holds Burglar at Gun Point After He Tries to Rob Victim’s Home

By Sam Cadle. Thanks to the watchful eye on a neighbor, a North Carolina homeowner was able to come home and catch a burglar in his home. The neighbor noticed a suspicious vehicle in the driveway and called the homeowner, John Painter, to let him know. When he arrived home he found his door forced open and when he went inside he found a man inside. He retrieved his handgun, held the burglar face down and called 911. All too often neighbors don’t help each other and make the calls, or investigate things that might be suspicious.

I do applaud the local Sheriff’s office for letting the public know that if you are able to safely, detaining someone is your right. Many times we hear law enforcement tell people to just leave the situation and go to a safe place, allowing a burglar to continue to ransack your home or even get away. The Sheriff’s PIO did, to the media, say that concealed carry permits were on the rise, so home invaders should think twice. (Read more from this story HERE)

Obama Now Delays Deportation Hearings for Illegals to 2019

Photo Credit: Breitbart By Tony Lee. Thousands of illegal immigrants will remain in the United States for at least five more years after the Justice Department moved their deportation hearings to 2019–at the earliest.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Department of Justice “has begun sending out notices to thousands of immigrants awaiting hearings that their cases will be pushed back nearly five years,” and “began notifying employees in the immigration court system last week that nonpriority cases were being bumped off the court docket and would get a Nov. 29, 2019, court date, which happens to be Black Friday.”

The Journal notes that the 2019 date is “more of a bureaucratic placeholder than an actual plan to hear a flood of cases that day,” which means the hearings could be moved to an even later date in the future.

“Thousands” if not “tens of thousands” illegal immigrants who are “nonpriority cases” and are “living freely” in the United States will reportedly have their hearings delayed. (Read more from “Obama Delays Deportation Hearings” HERE)

County Sheriff: Anything Short Of Murder and Rape Won’t Get You Deported

By Ian Hanchett. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) said that “anything short of murder and rape” is considered a low-level offense for illegal immigrants and will likely not result in deportation on Friday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”

“When you put that population [criminal aliens] on top of what we’re already dealing with with people who are legally in the United States and involved in crime, it just compounds our problems. One of the most difficult challenges in dealing with criminal aliens is who are they, every time they get arrested, they give you a different name and you look and each one of them comes with 10, 12, 15 aliases and so just identifying them becomes problematic, but once they’re involved in crime, and I know what the left likes to say that low-level offenders shouldn’t be deported. Well, they have dropped the standard to now where burglary and strong-armed robbery are considered low-level offenses, anything short of murder and rape, they say ‘OK, yeah, murder maybe we should deport them,’ I go ‘no, burglary, strong-armed robbery, drug trafficking, drunk driving…all of those things should be included’” he stated. Female Hunter Receiving Death Threats Over Teaching Children to Hunt

Jen Cordaro, who’s known as “Jen the Archer,” has received death threats after someone found her Facebook. The page features her program, “Bring a Kid,” and includes pictures of Cardaro teaching kids how to hunt and dress animals.

An anonymous, self-described vegan dumped a bag of rotten vegetables on her porch, after animal activists posted her address on social media. Now, those same activists are calling for an end to all hunting in California.

A worldwide Change.org petition entitled “STOP teaching children to become animal murderers!” has received 2,100 signatures so far . . .

The former vegetarian says she’s a ‘loco-vore’ –hunting and gathering locally– and eats what she hunts. She says she wants to teach kids outdoor ethics, where food comes from and respect for nature. (Read more about the female hunter HERE)
