Republican Senators Respond to Poll Showing Nearly Half of D.C. Federal Bureaucrats Aim to Oppose Trump

Republican senators highlighted a growing deep state opposition to President-elect Donald Trump, citing a revealing new poll on the federal bureaucracy and urging Trump to be vigilant as he enters office next week.

The poll, which the firm RMG Research released Monday, revealed that 42% of what the survey calls “federal government managers”—federal employees who live in the National Capitol Region around Washington and earn at least $75,000 annually—plan to politically oppose the incoming administration.

Nearly two-thirds (64%) of the federal government managers who voted for Vice President Kamala Harris in November said they would ignore a lawful order from Trump if they considered it to be bad policy. Only 17% of the Harris voters in the federal bureaucracy said they would follow Trump’s order.

“Bureaucracy is the real threat to democracy,” Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, told The Daily Signal in an emailed statement Wednesday. Ernst leads the Senate DOGE Caucus, an effort to help the DOGE, or Department of Government Efficiency, a nongovernmental panel led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy and aimed at rooting out waste and abuse in the federal government. . .

“The bureaucrat class has forgotten that their job is to serve the American people, and I am happy to help remind them,” Ernst added. “As the Senate DOGE Caucus Chair, I am rooting out the rot in Washington. Federal employees are paid by taxpayers to work for taxpayers. They can either do their job or find another.” (Read more from “Republican Senators Respond to Poll Showing Nearly Half of D.C. ‘Chaos and Abuses’: Virginia Lawmakers Warned Against Resolution Constitutionalizing ‘Gender Identity’

Alliance Defending Freedom is urging Republicans in the Virginia Legislature to vote against a Democrat-introduced resolution that would inject “gender” into the state Constitution, deeming it distinct from sex.

The Marriage Amendment, which includes gender provisions, eliminates the state’s current definition of marriage—between one and one woman—to recognize same-sex marriage.

Deeming “gender” or “gender identity” as distinct from sex paves the way for “chaos and abuses,” warns Greg Baylor, a senior counsel at the religious liberty law firm Alliance Defending Freedom, in a Jan. 14 letter to Virginia’s Republican legislators.

“Men invade women’s sports and women’s locker rooms,” Baylor writes. “Public school bureaucrats withhold information about a child experiencing gender confusion from parents and even fire teachers who refuse to lie about a student’s sex. Activists sue doctors who object to pushing puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones on vulnerable kids.”

The resolution passed the state House and is expected to soon come to the Virginia Senate floor. It establishes that Virginia cannot “deny the issuance of a marriage license to two parties contemplating a lawful marriage on the basis of the sex, gender, or race of such parties.” (Read more from “‘Chaos and Abuses’: Virginia Lawmakers Warned Against Resolution Constitutionalizing ‘Gender Identity’” HERE)

Joe Biden Suffers One Final Humiliation Before Being Wheeled Out of Office

As Katie wrote earlier today, there’s been a tentative hostage deal struck between Israel and Hamas. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office is still combing through the details, but it’s undoubtedly the most encouraging news about a ceasefire in months. Joe Biden and his ninny brigade have tried and failed to strike a deal to end the Israel-Hamas war, which was predictable. Joe and his team are neither feared nor respected:

Netanyahu’s office says the deal is not complete and is still being worked out, but hopes it will be finished in the coming hours. Netanyahu is facing pressure from members of his coalition who are against the deal and threatening to dissolve the government.

Jill Biden Admits Nancy Pelosi Pushing Joe Out of Re-Election Bid Was ‘Disappointing’

Outgoing first lady Jill Biden has admitted that it was “disappointing” that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was the one whose decisive intervention pushed President Biden out of the 2024 campaign.

“We were friends for 50 years,” Jill, 73, told the Washington Post in an interview published Wednesday that was billed as her final sit-down while in the White House. . .

The Bidens have largely bitten their tongues when discussing the internal revolt following the president’s disastrous showing in his one debate against Republican Donald Trump on June 27.

While Joe Biden, 82, had initially insisted that he would carry on in the race, pressure from top Democrats — led by Pelosi, the former House speaker — forced him to announce his withdrawal on July 21.

“Let’s just say I was disappointed with how it unfolded,” the first lady reiterated to the Washington Post.

“I don’t know. I learned a lot about human nature,” she said, adding, “I think that’s all I’m going to say.” (Read more from “Jill Biden Admits Nancy Pelosi Pushing Joe Out of Re-Election Bid Was ‘Disappointing’” HERE)

Biden Sternly Warns ‘Oligarchy Is Taking Shape in America’ During Farewell Address to the Nation

President Biden gave a farewell address to the nation on Wednesday night, his final speech from the Oval Office before President-elect Donald Trump takes the White House on Monday.

The 82-year-old commander in chief warned against granting the presidency “unchecked” power, saying “extreme” wealth, power and influence “literally threatens our entire democracy.”

He called the past four years “one of the toughest years” in US history.

“Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America … that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights, their freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead,” the outgoing president said.

Biden’s farewell address in total was just under 18 minutes. (Read more from “Biden Sternly Warns ‘Oligarchy Is Taking Shape in America’ During Farewell Address to the Nation” HERE)

Dozens Of North Carolina Hurricane Victims Lose FEMA-Sponsored Housing, Senators Say

Dozens of Hurricane Helene victims were kicked out of the hotels they were staying in on Tuesday as their FEMA-sponsored vouchers expired, according to North Carolina’s Republican senators.

Sens. Ted Budd and Thom Tillis both posted on X Tuesday that they had heard from dozens of constituents in western North Carolina that they had nowhere to go after their temporary FEMA housing assistance expired. FEMA responded by saying that it had expanded its housing program for those who had lost their homes from Helene until the end of March 2025.

“My office is hearing from dozens in WNC who have been kicked out of their hotels tonight, despite FEMA’s announcement yesterday that they were extending Transitional Sheltering Assistance through January 25,” Budd posted. “This is unacceptable. This needs to be fixed TONIGHT.”

Tillis reported a similar situation, saying that many kicked out of the hotels had nowhere to go with below freezing temperatures in the area.

“My office has been helping dozens of Helene victims today who have been told their hotel vouchers expired despite not having a safe and livable home to go back to. Their homes have mold and broken windows … it’s 20 degrees tonight,” Tillis posted on X. “Hotels are trying to help them, and a number of nonprofits are stepping up to pay for victims to stay in their hotels so FEMA has another day to get its act together.” (Read more from “Dozens Of North Carolina Hurricane Victims Lose FEMA-Sponsored Housing, Senators Say” HERE)

Chinese Drone Giant DJI Removes Geofencing That Protects White House, Airports, Wildfires

China’s DJI, the world’s leading drone manufacturer, has decided to remove its long-standing geofencing feature, which previously prevented drones from flying over restricted areas such as airports, wildfires, and the White House.

The Verge reports that Chinese drone manufacture DJI has made a significant change to its flight control software, effectively removing geofencing restrictions that have been in place for over a decade. Geofencing drones effectively creates invisible walls around sensitive locations like airports, preventing drone operators from purposefully or accidentally flying their drone into an area where they shouldn’t.

The geofencing feature, voluntarily implemented by DJI, had been designed to automatically prevent drones from flying over sensitive areas such as runways, power plants, public emergencies, and critical government buildings. However, the company has now chosen to place control back in the hands of drone operators, offering only a dismissible warning instead of enforcing strict no-fly zones.

DJI’s global policy head, Adam Welsh, explained to the Verge that this decision aligns with the introduction of Remote ID technology, which publicly broadcasts the location of a drone and its operator during flight. Welsh suggests that this technology provides authorities with the necessary tools to enforce existing rules, making the geofencing feature less critical.

However, the incident involving a sub-250-gram DJI drone damaging a Super Scooper airplane during the Los Angeles wildfires has raised concerns about the effectiveness of Remote ID in preventing such occurrences. The FBI expects to rely on investigative means to identify the drone operator responsible for the incident, as these smaller models may not require Remote ID to operate. Trump’s Entire Family ‘In Crosshairs of Assassins’ as Secret Service Protection Is ‘Running on Fumes’

Donald Trump’s family is in imminent danger of possible assassination as the already embattled U.S. Secret Service will be stretched to the max in efforts to protect his vulnerable wife and teen son.

RadarOnline.com can reveal the Trump clan is an easy target for homegrown maniacs and trained terror groups in the wake of two recent assassination attempts on the incoming 47th president – as well as a pre-election plot by Iran to erase him.

“The threat level is high now because the country is so divided,” renowned private eye and security pro Paul Huebl warned. . .

The stunning security assessment comes as the agency in charge of protecting high-ranking officials has only 8,000 employees despite a wish-list budget, which never materialized, to hire 2,000 additional workers for fiscal year 2026.

“We do the best we can with the resources we have, but we have been constrained for well over a decade now in terms of resourcing and hiring,” Matthew Noyes, director of the agency’s cyber policy and strategy, said at a recent global security forum. FBI’s Wray Reveals Right Before Resigning That China Has Penetrated U.S.’s Critical Infrastructure

Outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed during an interview on Sunday, a week before he steps down, that China has penetrated America’s water treatment plants, electric grid, and other critical civilian infrastructure, and is lying “in wait” for an opportunity to cyberattack at a time and place of its choosing.

Asked on CBS’s 60 Minutes about Chinese penetration of U.S. cyber and infrastructure, Wray said China’s cyber program is the largest in the world and has stolen more of Americans’ personal and corporate data than every nation combined. Then, he added:

But even beyond the cyber theft. There’s another part of the Chinese cyber threat that I think has not gotten the attention publicly that it I think desperately deserves. And that is Chinese government’s pre-positioning on American civilian critical infrastructure. To lie in wait on those networks to be in a position to wreak havoc and can inflict real-world harm at a time and place of their choosing.

Wray said China has already infiltrated malware into critical American infrastructure.

“Things like water treatment plants. We’re talking about transportation systems. We’re talking about targeting of our energy sector, the electric grid, natural gas pipelines. And recently we’ve seen targeting of our telecommunications systems,” he said. ‘I Will Be Supporting Pete’: Sen. Joni Ernst Backs Hegseth Following Conservative Pressure Campaign

Following a widespread conservative pressure campaign, Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, revealed on Tuesday evening that she will be voting to confirm Pete Hegseth as President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of defense.

“I am breaking news. … Yes, I will be supporting President Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth,” Ernst said during an interview on Simon Conway’s radio show.

The Iowa Republican’s announcement came hours following Hegseth’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, in which he endured grotesque slanders and unhinged tirades from the body’s Democrat members. The former Fox News host also fielded policy-related questions from the panel’s GOP members, including Ernst.

Tuesday’s announcement marks a major win for Hegseth and conservative voters, the latter of whom galvanized to pressure GOP senators to confirm Hegseth following revelations that Ernst was leading a behind-the-scenes effort to nuke his nomination.

Trump world sources told The Federalist last month that Iowa’s junior senator was spearheading an “aggressive” personal jihad against Hegseth. This included Ernst making calls to Trump to convince him to dump Hegseth and enlisting Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to lobby the president-elect to replace Hegseth with Ernst.
