Senate Republicans could force Democrats into a talking filibuster on voter identification, but it’s unclear if they will use the strategy to pass the bill.

The SAVE America Act, a Republican-backed election integrity measure, would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote — including by mail — mandate photo ID for federal elections, direct states to verify citizenship and remove non-citizens from federal voter rolls.

Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy in a post on X, confirmed that the bill is expected to reach the House floor in February, and if passed, move to the Senate — where questions remain about whether Republicans, despite controlling both chambers, can muster the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

Without the 60-vote threshold or Democratic support, GOP Senate leadership would be faced with potentially using one of the Senate’s oldest tools — the talking, or standing, filibuster — to advance the legislation.

Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee has referred to the Senate procedure as the “zombie filibuster.”

FBI Director Kash Patel says his agency has resumed an aggressive counterintelligence offensive against China and its Communist Party (CCP) that had been sidelined during the Biden presidency but is concerned the prior administration may have “buried” the truth about dangerous biolabs on U.S. soil tied to Beijing.

“This FBI, under this leadership, has prioritized the threat against it by the CCP against us, and we’ve taken swift action,” Patel said Friday in an interview with the Just the News, No Noise television show that focused on China’s threat to U.S. national security and the bureau’s efforts to handle the Chinese Communist Party.

The FBI boss said the renewed efforts have already resulted in a 40% increase in Chinese espionage arrests in the first year of the second Trump administration.

“What we did in the last year with President Trump and the attorney general and the Department of Justice is reprioritize our dynamic threat landscape, going after and disrupting and looking after the criminal activity from the CCP,” he explained.

US Military Strikes Alleged Drug Boat in the Eastern Pacific, Leaving 2 Dead and 1 Survivor

The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced Monday that the US military carried out an operation targeting a suspected drug-trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific, leaving two people dead and one survivor.

“On Feb. 9, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations,” the joint command said in a post on X.

Following the strike, the unit said it immediately notified the US Coast Guard to activate a search-and-rescue system for the lone survivor who escaped the lethal attack.

Aerial footage released by the agency shows a vessel halting shortly after getting struck by the weapon.

Trump said, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him,” according to the FBI account.

Epstein Death Files Ignite New Firestorm as Prosecutors’ Statement Appears Dated Before He Died

Newly released files tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s federal case are fueling renewed controversy after revealing a draft statement attributed to prosecutors that appears to be dated one day before Epstein was officially found dead in his Manhattan jail cell.

The document surfaced as part of the Justice Department’s latest Epstein disclosure and is among at least 23 records labeled as statements from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. A review of the tranche shows multiple versions of similar statements, many with inconsistent redactions—some leaving phone numbers or names exposed, while others are almost entirely blacked out.

One draft, however, stands out.

It bears a date of August 9, 2019—the day before Epstein was discovered unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on the morning of August 10, where he was later pronounced dead while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

The pre-dated statement is attributed to then–U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman and reads in part:

“Earlier this morning, the Manhattan Correctional Center confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein […] had been found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.”

The draft also describes the moment as “disturbing” and emphasizes prosecutors’ continued commitment to Epstein’s victims.

What it does not include is a cause of death—something that appeared in the finalized version released publicly the following day.

Screenshots of the document quickly circulated online after the files were released.

X user @rschmied posted dryly:

“Just a version of the Epstein death announcement dated Friday, August 9th, day before he died in the official announcement which is dated the 10th. Carry on.”

Others pointed to additional details from the release that further muddy the waters.

One post from @DMichaelTripi claimed:

“NEW: Noose allegedly used by Jeffrey Epstein collected at the scene of his death has been determined to have not been used in Epstein’s ‘suicide’ according to DOJ Inspector General.”

Beyond paperwork discrepancies, the files also provide fresh insight into Epstein’s mental state in the days leading up to his death—details that complicate the official narrative.

According to a suicide risk assessment dated August 1, 2019, just nine days before he was found dead, Epstein told prison psychologists he would never kill himself, citing religious beliefs.

The report states:

“He said he is Jewish and he said in his religion suicide is against the religion.”

Now, with a prosecutor’s statement seemingly dated before Epstein’s death, inconsistently redacted records, disputed forensic details, and fresh insight into his mindset, the latest document dump has reignited debate over whether the full truth has ever been told.

As Epstein Files Reach Congress, Massie Vows to Use ‘Nuclear Option’

Members of Congress will begin reviewing unredacted Justice Department files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein starting Monday.

The Associated Press obtained the letter breaking down the agreement with the Justice Department. Lawmakers will be allowed to view more than 3 million previously released documents at DOJ headquarters, but may not make electronic copies and must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to access them on site. Staff members will not be permitted to assist with the review.

The arrangement comes after months of political pressure over what critics said was an overly redacted and delayed release following passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in 2025, which requires the DOJ to make records related to Epstein’s investigations public.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a co-author of the law and a leading advocate for fuller disclosure, intensified his rhetoric this week, warning that he would resort to what he described as a “nuclear option” if the Justice Department continued to withhold names of Epstein’s alleged clients from the files.

MAGA Fans Lash Out as Epstein Survivors Release Ad During the Super Bowl: ‘A Psyop’

Fans of President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement lashed out at survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s heinous crimes on Sunday for releasing an advertisement during the Super Bowl.

Survivors plan to release an advertisement on social media calling out the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files. Last week, the administration released the personal information of more than 40 victims, which one survivor said on Sunday was an attempt to “silence” them. . .

News of the ad by survivors didn’t sit well with some fans of Trump’s MAGA movement, who shared their reactions on social media.

“And this is how you know this is political and a psyop,” the MAGA commentary group “Mostly Peaceful Latinas” posted on X. “Someone paid big money to have this as play during the Super Bowl tonight. People need to wake up from their conspiracy world and arrive back at reality.”

A photo has emerged of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg attending a “wild” California dinner party with infamous pedophile Jeffery Epstein years after he was convicted as a child sex offender.

The image, which was in the latest trove of documents released by the Department of Justice, shows Musk sitting at a table with the Facebook founder and others during the swanky Aug. 2, 2015 dinner that Epstein once boasted about attending.

Along with Musk and Zuckerberg, Epstein claimed in two separate emails that the guest list included other big names like PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

The first mention of the party appeared in an email between Epstein and embattled CBS News contributor Peter Attia, where the dead pedophile bragged about the upcoming dinner.
