The Entire Manufactured Controversy Over Trump’s Arlington Cemetery Visit

Taxpayer-subsidized National Public Radio shouldn’t be a starting place for aggressively biased coverage against either Democrats or Republicans. But you can ask Clarence Thomas how the machine works.

On Aug. 27, NPR veterans affairs reporter Quil Lawrence lit into former President Donald Trump for bringing cameras to a section of Arlington National Cemetery with some families of soldiers killed during President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The entire manufactured controversy is perverse. It’s obvious NPR is exploiting the cemetery for a political goal, and it then spread to the rest of the national media. Trump is showing support for grieving Gold Star families, while Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris would not appear. They were MIA. But Trump was singled out as the one with grotesque political optics, not the no-shows whose negligence cost American lives.

They weren’t seriously considering the Biden-Harris disaster on “All Things Considered.” They could call it “All Democrats Defended.” Conservatives quickly found snapshots from private photographers of Biden in the same sacred section of the Arlington cemetery. That thing cannot be “considered.”

In a different segment of this evening newscast, Lawrence and NPR Pentagon correspondent Tom Bowman reviewed the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing, which led to the death of 13 American service personnel. The segment was headlined: “The chaotic U.S. exit from Afghanistan in 2021 had stems from four administrations.” NPR felt compelled to spread the blame around on everyone. About That List of ‘Republicans’ Endorsing Kamala Harris

Legacy media outlets have trumpeted the news that “more than 200″ people who used to work for former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and former Republican presidential nominees John McCain and Mitt Romney, have endorsed Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in an open letter. . .

Left-leaning media may claim this list represents a tidal wave of Republicans defecting to Harris, but this letter is far less impressive than meets the eye. As it turns out, many of the signatories were interns or apolitical staff, and many of them went on to work for then-President Barack Obama and current President Joe Biden. . .

The list features eight interns: Chad Adler, a finance intern for Romney 2012; Katie Daryl, a communications department intern for McCain’s Senate office; Anne Dixon, a political intern for the 2008 McCain presidential campaign; Daniel Edwards, an intern in McCain’s Senate office; Danny Mazza, another McCain Senate office intern; Brooks Nelson, an intern from Bush’s USA Freedom Corps; Meghan K. Reilly, a McCain Senate office intern, and Anne Wisniewski, a political intern for McCain’s 2008 campaign.

The offices of Romney and George W. Bush did not respond to The Daily Signal’s questions about whether the letter artificially inflated the number of former staff to give a false impression. . .

Many of the former Bush 41, Bush 43, McCain, and Romney staffers who signed the letter held apolitical positions that do not necessarily reflect alignment with the Republicans for whom they worked. Many of them stayed on under Democrats because their jobs did not involve partisan affiliation.

Letter-signer Daniel Connor held the apolitical position of pilot for presidential helicopter Marine One under George W. Bush. He remained in the role into the Barack Obama administration. (Read more from “About That List of ‘Republicans’ Endorsing Kamala Harris” HERE)

Wealthy Donors Quietly Tell Harris to Throw Capital Gains Tax Policy Overboard

Wealthy donors to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign are quietly pushing her to drop a proposed policy on taxing unrealized capital gains, according to the New York Times.

Harris adopted a proposal by President Joe Biden to put a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for individuals worth $100 million or more. Wealthy Harris donors are allegedly incredulous and have been pushing her to drop the policy ahead of the 2024 election amid concerns about the economic and political viability of the plan, according to The New York Times.

“There’s optimism that this can’t possibly be real,” Aaron Levie, chief executive of cloud-storage company Box, told the NYT. “Most people are waiting to hear from the Harris campaign. Is this a real proposal that is actually being pushed for — or was this something that was inherited from Biden?”

Harris campaign spokesman Charles Kretchmer Lutvak told the NYT that the policy was to get billionaires to pay a “fair share” in taxes. Harris also voiced her support for Biden’s other tax hike proposals for the 2025 budget that cost a total of approximately $5 trillion, according to the Cato Institute.

Levine has donated $30,000 to the campaign and plans to donate more, but said that his Silicon Valley colleagues see the capital gains proposal as “punitive,” according to the NYT. Some donors have privately said that Harris’ policy positions in general are more flexible than Biden’s, sustaining hopes that Harris may back off the proposal. Trump Reveals He is Voting No on Florida’s Abortion Amendment

Former President Donald Trump revealed that he would be voting no on a proposed abortion amendment in Florida.

When asked by a reporter if he was voting “yes or no” on Amendment 4, Trump explained that while he believes Florida’s six-week abortion ban needs “more time than six weeks,” he will be voting no on Florida’s abortion Amendment, noting that the Democrats were “radical” in their views on abortion.

Under Florida’s Amendment 4, the right to abortion throughout a pregnancy would be enshrined into the state’s constitution.

“I think six weeks, you need more time than six weeks,” Trump said. “I’ve disagreed with that right from the early primaries when I heard about it, I disagreed with it. At the same time, the Democrats are radical because the nine months is just a ridiculous situation, where you can do an abortion in the ninth month.”

“Some of the states like Minnesota and other states have it where you can actually execute the baby after birth, and all of that stuff is unacceptable,” Trump added. “So, I’ll be voting no for that reason.” (Read more from “Trump Reveals He is Voting No on Florida’s Abortion Amendment” HERE)

Court Says ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Can Be Censored by School

A federal court ruling has allowed a school to censor “Let’s Go Brandon,” preventing students from wearing the popular social media meme on shirts.

But a constitutional expert warns that it’s a “dangerous precedent” that will move the nation established on the basis of free speech the wrong direction.

Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, has testified before Congress on constitutional issues, and even represented members in court. . .

“Maloney rejects the free speech claim and rules that school officials can punish a student for wearing a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ T-shirt. I believe that he is wrong and that the case sets a dangerous precedent,” Turley wrote.

The slogan is “a familiar political battle cry not just against Biden but also against the bias of the media. It derives from an Oct. 2021 interview with race-car driver Brandon Brown after he won his first NASCAR Xfinity Series race. During the interview, NBC reporter Kelli Stavast’s questions were drowned out by loud-and-clear chants of ‘F*** Joe Biden.’ Stavast quickly and inexplicably declared, ‘You can hear the chants from the crowd, ‘Let’s go, Brandon!'” (Read more from “Court Says ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Can Be Censored by School” HERE)

‘Uncommitted’ Nightmare Haunts Harris as CNN Interview Further Fractures Democrat Base

Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris is facing a severe crisis with the pro-Palestinian wing of her party after she doubled down on her and President Joe Biden’s Israel policies in her CNN interview Thursday.

CNN’s Dana Bash pressed Harris on arms policy toward Israel on Thursday night. After Harris initially skirted a direct question about potentially withholding “some” arms to Israel, as the pro-Palestinian Uncommitted movement has been demanding for seven months, Bash did not let her off the hook. Following up on the same question, she drew a “No” from Harris when she asked if there would be any “change in policy in terms of arms and so forth” towards Israel, igniting a frenzy of condemnation from prominent pro-Palestinian figures, including Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

The response and the fallout underscore and worsen a massive problem for Harris, who has a fractured base heading into the home stretch of the election. These voters, more than half a million of whom protested the Biden-Harris administration with “uncommitted” votes in the Democratic primary, have threatened and continue to threaten to stay home in November, barring a radical change in policy or a cease-fire. The movement includes Arab Americans, Muslims, young voters, and far-left progressives.

Making the problem so severe for Harris is that the movement began in the ever-critical swing state of Michigan and spread to other key swing states like Wisconsin, places where the presidency is expected to be decided by a slim margin. Harris is on shaky ground, considering she still has not brought home her base at a point in the cycle where presidential candidates typically are focused on courting moderates.

Another aspect to contemplate is that if Harris does change course on this position, she runs the risk of looking that much more insincere to undecided voters on crucial issues. She has already waffled on a number of critical policy positions, including fracking, and polling shows the public views former President Donald Trump as the more genuine candidate by a wide margin. Regardless, the issue has festered so long that winning these voters back with words alone appears impossible. At this point, she needs a concrete stoppage in arms and a ceasefire, which are not on the horizon. If Donald Trump’s Sex Life is Fair Game for the Election, So is Kamala Harris’

Pundit and talk radio host Erick Erickson recently went on a rant about how “both parties have nominated terrible candidates whose supporters have decided to behave terribly to bully people into supporting their terrible candidate.” Erickson makes it known he’s still inclined to vote for Trump, but you’d think any prominent right-wing pundit who publicly expresses doubt about Donald Trump two months before the election would be chalked up as a win for Kamala supporters.

But then there’s the Leninist wing of Never Trump. Sarah Longwell, publisher of The Bulwark, a site largely run by fraudulent conservatives who are funded by left-wing billionaires to help Democrats win elections, really didn’t like Erickson’s tone:

Someone sent me a radio rant by @EWErickson about my disagreement with some at the Dispatch in which he said: ‘Kamala Harris has done nothing but climb the ladder of power since the moment she got up off her knees in front of Willie Brown to put it bluntly to you.’ Swell guy.

Setting aside Erickson’s crude imagery, I’ve covered Kamala Harris’ relationship history more extensively before, but here’s a summary of the facts as we know them: When Harris was a subordinate in the San Francisco DA’s office, she started dating Willie Brown, the most powerful man in California politics, who was 31 years older and married. After the current DA passed over Kamala Harris, a woman who failed the bar exam and is not exactly known for her mastery of the law, Brown was instrumental in alienating the existing DA, and was personally involved in raising money and running Harris’ successful campaign to get elected district attorney. Once in office, Harris let a number of Willie Brown’s friends off the hook when they were facing serious charges — including an egregious case where she let a city contractor and Willie Brown donor skate after endangering people’s lives after defrauding taxpayers by using cheaper, structurally unsound recycled concrete to build bridges and other important structures. This was all reported on in detail by local San Francisco media when it happened, who aren’t exactly in the business of pushing right-wing smears.

And yet, Sarah Longwell thinks Erickson is a bad person because he rather bluntly states the fact that Kamala Harris abased herself personally and engaged in political corruption at the behest of a man who demonstrably advanced her political career. I would have been more circumspect than Erickson, but 26 years after Bill Clinton’s “dalliance with an intern,” I’m supposed to believe Longwell and her colleagues are on their fainting couches because a pundit made a reference to oral sex? Dems Keep RFK Jr. on North Carolina Ballot as Swing State Spoiler to Hurt Trump Campaign

Another day, another manipulation of democracy by the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy.

The Democrat-led North Carolina State Board of Elections on Thursday narrowly voted to keep Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the November ballot even though the independent candidate dropped out of the race a week ago, endorsed Trump, and has asked to have his name removed from the list of candidates.

It’s more “cartel” politics from Big Democracy (aka the Democratic National Committee), says the former Democrat who managed RFK Jr.’s campaign.

“I can’t speak for the campaign, but on the one hand the DNC is trying to stop Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s access on the ballot and on the other hand they’re trying to keep him on the ballot,” Dennis Kucinich, a former Democrat congressman from Ohio who left Kennedy’s campaign in October, told me in a phone interview this morning. “What this means is that the DNC is functioning as a cartel with interest groups that support it, and they don’t want any competition.”

As a result, said cartel, Kucinich asserts, is silencing the voices of what he sees as the working people base of the party, rigging the system and trampling all over democracy. Although it’s difficult these days to see trees through the forest of freedom-killing leftists who talk about “saving democracy” from Donald Trump while eviscerating it in pursuit of absolute power.

North Carolina became the latest state to balk at the Kennedy family scion’s request to take his name off of the presidential ballot. (Read more from “Dems Keep RFK Jr. on North Carolina Ballot as Swing State Spoiler to Hurt Trump Campaign” HERE)

‘Chilling Stuff’: Warning Sounded for Once-Unthinkable Concept of U.S. Holocaust

A prominent Washington editor has taken to his own publication’s pages to issue a warning about an American Holocaust.

What once was unthinkable now still remains remote, but the circumstances that create a danger cannot be ignored, according to Hugo Gurdon, editor-in-chief of the Washington Examiner.

He cites an author’s speculation that given some horrific national disaster, Americans, already triggered by racist rhetoric, could turn bad.

“It is chilling stuff, partly because the subject is so inherently ghastly but also because radical changes in the U.S. since the 1980s make it a country lamentably unrecognizable to many of its citizens,” Gurdon wrote. “God forbid that a Holocaust of Jews is likely in America either soon or ever. But the circumstances that made it virtually inconceivable in the 1980s are now maintained much more precariously.

“A Jewish friend, as level-headed an analyst as you could hope for, told me, ‘I never worried until this year, but now I can visualize it happening, the course of events. It’s part of my worry about America and the crazy Left. Jews are moving to the Right,'” he continued. Democrats Pass Bill Offering Up to $150K in Assistance for Illegals to Buy Homes

Illegal immigrants in California could soon be eligible for tens of thousands of dollars in down payment assistance under a new law sent to Gov. Gavin Newsom.

On Wednesday, Democrats in the state legislature passed Assembly Bill 1840 requiring the California Housing Finance Authority’s “Dream for All Program,” which provides residents financial assistance to purchase homes, to consider applications from illegal immigrants. The program offers first-time homebuyers loan assistance of up to 20 percent of a property’s value with a cap of $150,000. Buyers then pay back the loan plus up to 20 percent of any property appreciation depending on income.

Lawmakers passed the changes to the program to include illegal immigrants along party lines Wednesday night.

California Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher slammed the bill in a statement.

“I didn’t know it was possible to make the border crisis and the housing crisis worse with just one vote,” the assembly leader said. “But Democrats found a way. Giving taxpayer-funded housing subsidies to illegal immigrants will drive costs even higher and encourage more chaos at the border. This is crazy and it needs to stop.” (Read more from “Democrats Pass Bill Offering Up to $150K in Assistance for Illegals to Buy Homes” HERE)
