Majority Blame Secret Service for Trump Assassination Attempt, Few Trust Agency: Poll

A new poll out Thursday found an overwhelming majority of Americans say the Secret Service bears some responsibility for the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump last month.

According to the Associated Press survey, 7 in 10 Americans believe “the Secret Service bears at least a moderate amount of responsibility for the assassination attempt” with 4 in 10 believing the agency “bears a high level of responsibility.”

The AP poll also found 3 in 10 said they were “extremely or very confident” the agency can keep presidential contenders safe.

The survey results were published just a week after the Secret Service requested the Trump campaign halt outdoor rallies ostensibly without the same handicap placed on the former president’s Democrat challenger. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle also resigned in disgrace last week as new details continued to surface exposing the agency’s reckless disregard for the safety of the Republican presidential nominee. Cheatle stepped down after testifying before the House Oversight Committee wherein the Secret Service chief struggled to answer lawmakers’ questions and said her agency had no radio recordings from the day Trump was shot.

Part of the former president’s right ear was blown off by a would-be assassin at a Pennsylvania rally last month after the gunman fired off eight shots in under six seconds killing a rallygoer and injuring two others, in addition to Trump. The 20-year-old shooter fired from the rooftop roughly 150 yards from the stage. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa., released bodycam footage Tuesday of officers after the shooting spree wherein they spoke about spotting the killer before the attempted assassination. Neuralink Implanted Second Trial Patient With Brain Chip, Musk Says

Neuralink has successfully implanted in a second patient its device designed to give paralyzed patients the ability to use digital devices by thinking alone, according to the startup’s owner Elon Musk.

Neuralink is in the process of testing its device, which is intended to help people with spinal cord injuries.

The device has allowed the first patient to play video games, browse the internet, post on social media and move a cursor on his laptop.

Musk, in comments made during a podcast released late on Friday that ran more than eight hours, gave few details about the second participant beyond saying the person had a spinal cord injury similar to the first patient, who was paralyzed in a diving accident. Musk said 400 of the implant’s electrodes on the second patient’s brain are working. Neuralink on its website states that its implant uses 1,024 electrodes.

“I don’t want to jinx it but it seems to have gone extremely well with the second implant,” Musk told podcast host Lex Fridman. “There’s a lot of signal, a lot of electrodes. It’s working very well.” (Read more from “Neuralink Implanted Second Trial Patient With Brain Chip, Musk Says” HERE)

Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index Plunges 7% as Worries Over US Economy Shake World Markets

Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 stock index plunged as much as 7.1% early Monday before recovering some lost ground, extending sell-offs that began last week.

At one point, the Nikkei shed more than 2,500 points. By the time of the Tokyo market’s midday break, the index was down about 5.5%, or about 1,900 points, at 33,945.43. . .

Stocks tumbled Friday on worries the U.S. economy could be cracking under the weight of high interest rates meant to tame inflation. Early Monday, the future for the S&P 500 was 1.4% lower and that for the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.5%.

“To put it mildly, the spike in volatility-of-volatility is a spectacle that underlines just how jittery markets have become,” Stephen Innes of SPI Asset Management said in a commentary. “The real question now looms: Can the typical market reflex to sell volatility or buy the market dip prevail over the deep-seated anxiety brought on by this sudden and sharp recession scare?” (Read more from “Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index Plunges 7% as Worries Over US Economy Shake World Markets” HERE)

Pelosi: President Biden Should Be Added to Mt. Rushmore

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning” that President Joe Biden should be added to Mt. Rushmore.

Host Lesley Stahl asked, “Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside.”

Pelosi said, “Well, I have never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, so no.” . . .

Pelosi said, “I wasn’t the leader of any pressure. Let me say things I didn’t do. I didn’t call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to him, I never called anybody. What I’m saying is I had confidence that the president would make the proper choice for our country, whatever that would be, and I said that. Whatever that is, we’ll go with.”

She added, “He was in a good place to make whatever decision, top of his game. Such a consequential President of the United States., a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States.” (Read more from “Pelosi: President Biden Should Be Added to Mt. Rushmore” HERE)

Police: Woman Accused of Threatening Trump Arrested Near White House With Unlicensed Firearm

A woman from San Antonio, Texas, was arrested Friday in Washington, DC, for allegedly threatening former President Donald Trump, the news coming after a gunman tried to assassinate him during his rally on July 13.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the agency received information about the suspect, identified as Christina Montoya, who had apparently traveled to the nation’s capital, where police found an unlicensed firearm and a magazine on her, KENS 5 reported on Friday. However, Trump was reportedly in the Hamptons to meet with donors the day of the woman’s arrest.

The type of threats she allegedly made against Trump were unclear, the outlet said, adding, “It’s also unknown the timeline of when she allegedly made them in the context of her Friday arrest, but the police report lists an ‘offense start date’ of July 20, 2024.”

“According to a police report, MPD arrested Montoya less than a mile from Capitol Hill and about three miles from the White House. She had the gun and a magazine on her at the time, authorities say,” the KENS 5 article stated.

Following the failed assassination attempt during his outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump credited God for his survival while speaking at another rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, according to Breitbart News. Trump Reveals He ‘Agreed’ to Debate Harris With ‘Full Arena Audience’

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump revealed that he had “agreed” to debate Vice President Kamala Harris in a presidential debate in September.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he agreed to debate Harris in a debate hosted by Fox News on September 4th. The debate will also be moderated by Fox News’s Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump wrote. “The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest.”

Trump is Ready to Debate Kamala

By Townhall. Former President Donald Trump is ready for Kamala Harris. He challenged her to a debate on Truth Social on Fox, not ABC, as initially planned since those negotiations were set with Joe Biden’s campaign before the president decided to quit and he got pummeled by Trump at the polls. . .

The New York Times has more:

The Sept. 4 date is close to the start of some states’ early voting windows and long after Ms. Harris presumably would have clinched the nomination from her party. (She is expected to secure the nomination once the Democrats’ virtual roll call vote concludes on Monday.)

The first presidential debate between President Biden and Mr. Trump, hosted by CNN, was among the most consequential presidential debates in history, according to experts. Mr. Biden gave a halting performance that contrasted strongly with Mr. Trump, who repeatedly advanced falsehoods.

Mr. Biden’s garbled responses supercharged concerns among his Democratic colleagues about his age and health, as well as his ability to beat Mr. Trump in the general election. After several weeks of declining poll numbers and mounting pressure from key allies, Mr. Biden announced on July 21 that he would withdraw from the race.

Since Ms. Harris has challenged Mr. Trump to debate her and criticized his previous reluctance to commit to a date despite his previous comments to debate Mr. Biden “any time, any place.”

They Visited the Biden White House at Least 50 Times, and Their War Cry is ‘F**k White Women’

Now, the Fox News headline said Kamala Harris’ ties to these women could upend Democratic Party unity. Let’s slow down a second: the Democrats are united, energized, and are back to raising mountains of cash now. Sure, things could shatter, but I’m not convinced that Harris’ ties to these two women, who are unhinged leftists, are going to create a problem. On the other hand, if it does, this is a reload of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright nonsense that forced Obama to cut ties with his church during the 2008 election. Meet Cora Masters Barry and Melanie Campbell, who have visited the Biden White House at least 50 times combined (via Fox News):

Weeks before President Biden and Harris were sworn into office in 2021, Barry and Campbell participated in a public Zoom call in which they made controversial statements about Trump supporters and used an expletive against White voters, specifically White women, which could cause some internal clashes as different coalitions mobilize to try to get Harris into the White House.

Approximately 164,000 White women hopped on a Zoom call last week, which was organized by Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts and other female celebrities. The call, titled “White Women: Answer the Call,” reportedly raised millions of dollars for Harris’ campaign and could be a major fundraising force over the next few months.

However, the unearthed comments from the two activists could cause some internal tension for the Harris campaign as they look to mobilize different voting blocs and have called for “Unity.”

“If you claim to stand for unity, you need to do more than just use the word,” Harris recently said.

“We have to change our strategy. We got to get our people. We have to get our – they got their people. They got all the trailer parks all covered,” Barry said during the Zoom. “All them people up in West Virginia and the hills, they’re covered. They got them all the way there to Wall Street.”

“[Trump] did that, and we’re sitting here talking about the White women. F— the white women– excuse me – forget the White women. They’re going to do what the White men tell them to do,” Barry continued, eliciting laughter and clapping from Campbell.

[…]

Barry went on to say that the Black community has to “get real serious about organizing to elect Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States” and that she doesn’t “want no women’s parade.”

“If they have another Women’s March – I’ll go over there and blow it up,” Barry said.

Dems Accused of Paying Homeless to Fill Harris Rallies

Kamala Harris rallies sometimes are held in gymnasiums and events centers where parts have been blocked off by curtains or dividers.

It makes the crowd, put into a smaller area, appear fuller, even larger. . .

But one resident in the Atlanta area, after a Harris rally featuring a popular rap artist was packed, is offering a new explanation for the crowd:

Democrats were paying the homeless to attend. . .

The woman, on a TikTok video later posted on Rumble by NewsVariable, explained, “They get busloads and they go pick up the homeless people. They offer them food, drink and a little change to come to the rally so the rallies will look full.” (Read more from “Dems Accused of Paying Homeless to Fill Harris Rallies” HERE)

If Elected, Kamala Harris Would Be the Most Anti-Gun President in U.S. History

Joe Biden is the most activist president ever on gun control, putting thousands of gun dealers out of business by the middle of last year for trivial paperwork mistakes. He used government regulations to “debank” gunmakers and dealers, and those that survived faced higher costs. The Biden administration has also put together a national gun registry. But a President Kamala Harris would be even worse for gun ownership.

During the 2020 presidential campaign, Harris ran to the left of Biden on gun control. While both supported an assault weapons ban, Harris wanted to force gun owners to sell to the government any firearms that she deemed undesirable. Harris went further than Biden in vowing to use executive orders if Congress did not pass the ban. The national gun registry makes this mandatory gun confiscation more doable.

Harris pushed for gun control this week in her first campaign speech as the presumptive Democratic nominee. And she has a long history of pushing for gun control. In early 2008, Harris argued for the constitutionality of gun bans in an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court. She claimed there is no individual right to self-defense.

Harris is the Biden administration’s “gun control czar,” overseeing the administration’s gun control initiatives through the White House’s new Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP), which coordinates the administration’s gun control efforts. The administration has also just put out a report failing to recognize any benefits from people owning guns.

The office is credited with helping to implement the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which introduces long and extremely complicated rules that will result in many gun owners being defined as firearms dealers. As I’ve previously pointed out, if you sell a friend a gun once and discuss the sale of a second gun, you must be a licensed dealer. Similarly, if you sell one gun and keep any record of what you bought and sold it for, you must also be a licensed dealer. Other rules are vague and give the government discretion to classify you as a dealer when it sees fit. Hunter Biden Sentencing Set for November

Hunter Biden’s sentencing for his felony gun case is set for Nov. 13.

Biden made history in June, becoming the first son of a sitting president to be criminally convicted over three charges related to a 2018 gun purchase. He was convicted of lying on a federal form about his drug use to purchase a firearm, submitting a false statement into a federal record, and unlawfully possessing the firearm for 11 days.

He will report to a Wilmington, Delaware, courthouse Wednesday, Nov. 13, for his sentencing, eight days after the presidential election.

The court filing laying out the court date included further instructions regarding logistics, such as when to submit the presentence report and what to communicate with the probation officer.

Biden’s legal troubles didn’t end with the gun trial, however. He will head to court next month over a federal tax evasion trial in California, where he faces six felony and three misdemeanor charges. (Read more from “Hunter Biden Sentencing Set for November” HERE)
