Report: Barack Obama to Endorse Kamala ‘Soon’ — ‘Thinks She’s Been Off to a Great Start’

Former President Barack Obama will endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president “soon,” four people familiar with discussions of the matter told NBC News.

The sources contradict a Wednesday report that Obama does not believe Harris can beat former President Donald Trump in the general election and has not endorsed her for that reason.

Obama, however, “fully” supports Harris, will endorse her soon after being “in close touch since she announced her presidential candidacy Sunday,” and offered to counsel Harris on setting up a campaign. “‘He has been in regular contact with her and thinks she’s been off to a great start,’” one of them said,” according to NBC News.

Sources told the outlet:

The people familiar with the discussions didn’t know the precise timing of his endorsement. One of them said Obama didn’t want it to overshadow President Joe Biden’s moment, particularly his Oval Office address to the nation Wednesday night.

Another person familiar with the discussions said Obama and Harris, who is seeking to maintain the momentum her campaign has enjoyed among Democrats since she entered the race, wanted his endorsement to stand as its own moment.

These Important Election Integrity Initiatives Might Be on Your 2024 Ballot

While most political pundits are focused on the pending matchup between former President Donald Trump and (presumably) Vice President Kamala Harris, a major facet of the 2024 contest that’s not getting enough attention is the election-related policy proposals appearing on state ballots across the country.

From voter ID requirements to expanding mail-in voting, these proposed statutory and constitutional changes could significantly alter the way states administer their elections. Here are the biggest ones you need to know about.

Ranked-Choice Voting

Often referred to as “rigged-choice voting” by its critics, ranked-choice voting (RCV) is an elections system in which voters rank candidates of all parties in order of preference. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of first-choice votes in the first round of voting, the last-place finisher is eliminated, and his votes are reallocated to the voter’s second-choice candidate. This process continues until one candidate receives a majority of votes.

The system has largely been pushed by Democrats as a way of winning traditionally Republican seats and has regularly produced inaccurate election results and discarded ballots. While 10 states have prohibited RCV in recent years, that hasn’t stopped its proponents from attempting to trick voters into adopting the system via the ballot amendment process.

In Idaho, where Republicans passed a law barring the practice last year, RCV supporters reportedly submitted enough signatures earlier this month to have a top-four RCV initiative appear on the state’s November ballot. According to Ballotpedia, the initiative would change state law to require the use of ranked-choice voting in congressional, gubernatorial, and state and county elections.

Whistleblower: Secret Service Repeatedly Rejected Offers to Use Drones at Deadly Trump Rally

A whistleblower is alleging that the U.S. Secret Service declined to use drones at the deadly Pennsylvania rally for former president Donald Trump on July 13, even though the technology was repeatedly offered by local law enforcement, Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley said on Thursday.

The Secret Service has fallen under intense scrutiny for failing to prevent a gunman from opening fire and attempting to assassinate Trump at the July 13 rally. Amid a series of reported operational failures, Hawley revealed in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday that a whistleblower had told him that the Secret Service repeatedly rejected offers from law enforcement in Pennsylvania to utilize drones for security purposes.

“The night before the rally, U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied offers from a local law enforcement partner to utilize drone technology to secure the rally. This means that the technology was both available to USSS and able to be deployed to secure the site. Secret Service said no,” Hawley wrote in his letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday. “The whistleblower further alleges that after the shooting took place, USSS changed course and asked the local partner to deploy the drone technology to surveil the site in the aftermath of the attack.”

Hawley wrote in the letter that the whistleblower also told him that the drone technology that was allegedly offered to the Secret Service had the capability to “neutralize” potential threats as well as monitor them.

“It is hard to understand why USSS would decline to use drones when they were offered, particularly given the fact USSS permitted the shooter to overfly the rally area with his own drone mere hours before [the] event,” Hawley wrote in the letter. The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, flew a drone over the rally site hours before the event began to scope out the area. House Passes Resolution Condemning Kamala Harris’s ‘Failure’ as ‘Border Czar’ With Support From Six Democrats

The House passed a resolution introduced by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) that condemns Vice President Kamala Harris’s “failure” as what they referred to as “border czar” with support from all Republicans and six Democrats.

On Thursday, 214 House Republicans as well as six House Democrats voted to condemn Harris’s “failure” in the role given to her by President Joe Biden in March 2021, when he asked her to help stem “the migration to our southern border.”

However, 196 House Democrats voted against the resolution.

“The House of Representatives strongly condemns the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border,” the resolution reads.

Those six House Democrats who voted for the resolution are:

Rep. Yadira Caraveo (D-CO)
Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX)
Rep. Don Davis (D-NC)
Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME)
Rep. Mary Sattler Peltola (D-AK)
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA)

Majority of Americans Believe Kamala Harris Covered Up Biden’s Health Issues, Polls Find

More than three-fifths of Americans believe Vice President Kamala Harris was involved in covering up President Joe Biden’s declining health, two polls found.

President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race, and Harris secured enough verbal support from Democratic National Convention delegates on Monday to be the presumptive nominee. The polls, conducted after Biden’s withdrawal but before his Wednesday speech to the country, showed a supermajority of Americans think Harris was involved in concealing Biden’s declining cognitive and physical condition.

A poll by YouGov for The Times showed that 54% of respondents believed that Biden’s health issues were covered up, with 68% of those respondents saying they felt Harris had “a great deal” to do with concealing the truth about Biden’s health. Another poll conducted by The Democracy Institute and Daily Express US found that 62% of Americans felt Harris “lied” to the American public about the president’s health.

The YouGov poll was conducted between July 22-23, surveyed 1,170 registered voters and has a margin of error of 3.2%. The Democracy Institute/Daily Express US poll was done of July 24, surveyed 1,200 likely voters and has a 3% margin of error. First “Proof” that Failed Trump Assassin was Radical Biden Supporter

In a startling revelation that underscores the growing threat of left-wing extremism in America, it has come to light that Thomas Crooks, the individual who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump, allegedly had a Gab account that he used to showcase his support for President Biden.

Andrew Torba:

Approximately 30 minutes ago, Gab learned that Thomas Crooks, the deranged Joe Biden supporter who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump, may have had an account on our platform. We are unable to confirm that the account in question actually belonged to him.

The account was last active on the site in 2021. As far as we are aware, the account did not use the site to send any direct messages. He posted on the site nine (9) times total.

While the account made very few posts on the site, the majority of them were in support of President Biden. A number of posts in particular expressed support for President Biden’s COVID lockdowns, border policies and executive orders.

We have saved the account data pending receipt of a search warrant.

Gab informed the public that an account potentially linked to Thomas Crooks existed on their platform. While they cannot definitively confirm its ownership, the account’s last activity dates back to 2021.

The majority of the posts voiced support for President Joe Biden, endorsing his divisive COVID lockdowns, reckless border policies, and excessive executive orders.

Secret Service Gave Jill Biden 4 Times as Many Agents as Trump for ‘Post-Standing’: Report

Investigations by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) have reportedly exposed the U.S. Secret Service for providing 12 “post-standing” agents for First Lady Jill Biden while only providing three “post-standing” agents for former President Donald Trump, as well as multiple other security failures.

Susan Crabtree, a Real Clear Politics correspondent, reported that the investigations coordinated by Grassley and Johnson have revealed that the Secret Service did not have communication coordinated with local law enforcement officers and that only three “post standing” Secret Service agents were present at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president was shot in the ear by would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks.

In a report on Grassley’s letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who announced her resignation on Tuesday, Crabtree noted that the Secret Service’s middle perimeter is known as “post standing.”

“My office has received legally protected whistleblower disclosures that include records of communications between and among Secret Service personnel,” Grassley wrote in his letter to Cheatle over the weekend. “The records include communications from July 11, 2024, that show First Lady Jill Biden received 12 Secret Service personnel for ‘post standing’ for her event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.”

Grassley added, “Those same communications show that former President Trump received three Secret Service personnel for ‘post standing’ for his event in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.” (Read more from “Secret Service Gave Jill Biden 4 Times as Many Agents as Trump for ‘Post-Standing’: Report” HERE)

Kamala Harris Picked Illegal Alien for Jobs Program Who Brutally Attacked Woman While She Was San Francisco DA

Vice President Kamala Harris is touting her time as a prosecutor in her 2024 run, with her campaign saying she has never “shied away from taking on those who harm the American people.”

But as district attorney of San Francisco, Harris ran a program that allowed illegal immigrants arrested for drug crimes to get job training and have their records expunged — all while avoiding deportation because of the city’s sanctuary policies.

Harris touted “Back on Track,” even though one of the offenders she picked for the program — illegal Honduran migrant Alexander Izaguirre — allegedly brutally assaulted a young woman, leaving her with a skull fracture and longterm trauma.

Harris later referred to the attack as, “a huge kind of pimple on the face of this program.”

The DA’s office chose Izaguirre for the program after he was arrested twice in eight months for allegedly snatching a purse and for selling cocaine, the LA Times reported at the time. ‘She’s an Idiot’: Kamala Harris Criticized by MSNBC’s Wisconsin Women Voter Focus Group

A panel of Wisconsin female voters cast doubt on Vice President Kamala Harris’ intelligence and competence during a segment aired on “Morning Joe” Wednesday.

Harris has started her campaign by touting her qualifications rather than race and identity since Sunday when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her. The group of Trump voters told NBC political analyst Elise Jordan that they think Harris is an incompetent “idiot.”

“How do you perceive Vice President Harris compared to President Biden in terms of competency and experience?” Jordan asked.

One woman said she believes Harris is “worse” while another said, “She doesn’t even know what’s going on at the border. That’s what she was supposed to be doing.”

Jordan asked when the group believes the United States will have its first woman president.

“When there’s a competent one,” a different voter said. (Read more from “‘She’s an Idiot’: Kamala Harris Criticized by MSNBC’s Wisconsin Women Voter Focus Group” HERE)

MrBeast’s Transgender Costar Quits Massively Popular Children’s YouTube Channel After Grooming Accusations

Ava Kris Tyson — a biological male born Chris Tyson before transitioning — was a costar of the MrBeast YouTube channel, which is massively popular with children. However, the 28-year-old transgender YouTube star permanently quit after grooming allegations. Tyson has denied the accusations.

Last month, allegations surfaced in a YouTube video and accused Tyson of grooming a 13-year-old. At the time of the alleged grooming, Tyson was age 20.

The alleged victim — who is now an adult — has recently come out to deny the grooming allegations against Tyson.

“These videos are massive lies and twisting the truth,” the alleged victim said. “Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of.”

On Tuesday, Tyson also denied the accusations in a post on the X social media platform:

“I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent. Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health. To lump these two factors together to create a narrative that my behavior extended beyond bad edgy jokes is disgusting and did not happen. In past years, I have learned that my old humor is not acceptable. I cannot change who I was, but I can continue to work on myself. I don’t want these accusations to impact the hundreds of people who work at MrBeast, which is why I have stepped away.”
