Target Will Soon Stop Accepting This Form of Payment

Target will no longer be accepting personal checks as a form of payment at its stores beginning later this month, the company confirmed.

The Minnesota-based big-box retail chain will stop taking checks this month due to “extremely low volumes,” of such payments, a spokesperson told NBC Chicago.

The company has taken “several measures” to notify customers in advance, the spokesperson added.

The change will go into effect on July 15 following the end of Target’s popular Circle Week sales event.

While personal checks will no longer be accepted, the store will still take cash, credit and debit cards, Target Circle Cards, digital wallets, SNAP/EBT cards and buy now-pay later services, Target said. (Read more from “Target Will Soon Stop Accepting This Form of Payment” HERE)

Major United In-Flight Attack Could Have Been Avoided if Air Marshals Weren’t Babysitting Migrants at Border, Union Says: ‘Worst Fears Coming True’

Passengers on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston were forced to take down a man trying to stab a flight attendant last year — because there were no air marshals present due to their continued deployments to the southern border, The Post has learned.

During the height of the border crisis, the federal government has been sending 200 air marshals to the border on 21-day deployments, leaving major flights vulnerable to threats, Sonya LaBosco, a retired supervisory federal air marshal who speaks on behalf of the Air Marshal National Council, told The Post.

From her own experience, LaBosco knew the LA to Boston route was one that was always staffed by marshals. She became even more concerned when passengers of a March 2023 Flight 2609 began contacting her, knowing they were left to tackle the threatening passenger on their own. . .

“So our worst fears were coming true every day with the in-flight incidents that were occurring that air marshals would have been on those flights to keep passengers from being injured.”

That day — and any other day — air marshals have been deployed to the border, they’ve been there merely “handing out water, making sandwiches, Uber Eats runs … bringing diapers and stuff into the facilities and unloading trucks,” LaBosco said, adding that it’s “absolutely ridiculous.” (Read more from “Major United In-Flight Attack Could Have Been Avoided if Air Marshals Weren’t Babysitting Migrants at Border, Union Says: ‘Worst Fears Coming True'” HERE)

Family of Five Tortured During Home Invasion, Including Children, Police Say

A neighborhood in North Carolina is terrified after police said that a family of five was tortured by home invaders for over an hour.

The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that the five people were sitting in their garage in Spout Springs with the garage door up when they were confronted by a group of men at about 2 a.m. on June 15.

The five victims included a father, a mother, their daughter, and the daughter’s friend. The fifth victim was not identified. . .

Police said the group, which could have numbered up to six men, tied up the victims with duct tape and began torturing them with heated metal.

“They put a knife and fork on top of the stove and heated it up and they just started sticking it to the body,” said Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats. “They were trying to get them to tell them where their money and guns were.”

The father, mother, and daughter were treated for their non-life threatening injuries at UNC-Chapel Hill. (Read more from “Family of Five Tortured During Home Invasion, Including Children, Police Say” HERE)

The Four Words Some Dem Senators Reportedly Plan to Say to Biden Soon

Joe Biden is the dog in the house on fire, saying, “This is fine.” That’s why so many members of his party are worried about November. Rightly so because the forces that want him gone are many and powerful, but the president seems confident that he can withstand the pressure, even as the fundraising well begins to dry up. Top donors are withholding cash until he drops out. The panic has not subsided following Joe Biden’s atrocious June 27 debate. And now, Democratic Senators are supposedly going to take a page out of A&E’s Intervention and hold one for the leader of their party (via WaPo):

Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.) is attempting to assemble a group of Democratic senators to ask President Biden to exit the presidential race, according to two people with direct knowledge of the effort.

Warner is telling Democratic senators that Biden can no longer remain in the election in the wake of his faltering debate performance, according to the people familiar with private conversations who spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak freely. Warner has told others that he is deeply concerned that Biden is not able to run a campaign that could beat former president Donald Trump.

[…]

Biden told reporters he had spoken with at least 20 members of Congress and that they’re all telling him “to stay in the race.” When asked about Warner’s concerns, Biden said he was the “only” one pushing for him to step aside. “No one else is calling on me to do that,” he said.

[…]

As chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Warner is viewed as a serious voice privately advocating for the president to step aside. He represents a state that Democrats must win in November to maintain their hold on the White House.

There’s a growing consensus among Senate Democrats that the situation with Biden at the top of the ticket is untenable, and senators are trying to determine the best way to relay that message to an insulated president. Some senators don’t think Biden has people around him who are giving him an accurate picture of the fallout, according to one Democratic senator and a senior Democratic aide.

Human Plague Case Confirmed, Health Officials Urge Prompt Treatment

The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment (PDPHE) in Colorado confirmed a human Bubonic plague case, Fox News reported.

A confirmed case of the plague was reported in Pueblo County, Colorado, according to health officials from PDPHE, Fox News reported. The PDPHE, in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, is currently investigating the case. Details about the individual who contracted the plague have not been disclosed, but health officials are urging the public to take precautions to protect themselves and their pets from potential exposure to this serious bacterial infection.

Rats likely carried the bacterium Yersinia pestis, the cause of the plague, to North America on ships from South Asia around 1900, the outlet reported. Dr. Timothy Brewer, a UCLA professor of medicine and epidemiology, stated the disease has since become endemic in ground squirrels and rodents in the rural Southwestern U.S. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports the plague can affect people of all ages, with approximately half of the cases occurring in individuals aged 12 to 45.

Globally, the World Health Organization reports between 1,000 and 2,000 cases of plague annually, with the U.S. averaging about seven cases per year. If untreated, the plague can be fatal in 30% to 60% of cases, but with antibiotics, the fatality rate drops to below 5%, Fox News reported. Trump Beats Whoever Dems Replace Biden With in Hypothetical Polls

The Democratic Party is panicking as it comes to terms with President Joe Biden’s senility and cognitive decline is going to cost them the election.

With less than four months until ballots are cast, several polls found that no matter who Democrats pin up against former President Donald Trump, he still wins.

A new Ipsos/Reuters survey found that Trump beats California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Vice President Kamala Harris in a hypothetical matchup.

Trump won 43 percent of the vote, while Harris would hypothetically win 42 percent. Meanwhile, Newsom would hypothetically win only 39 percent of registered voter’s support compared to Trump’s 42 percent.

Following Biden’s catastrophic debate performance last week, rumors that the 81-year-old president will be replaced as the Democratic nominee are beginning to become reality. (Read more from “Trump Beats Whoever Dems Replace Biden With in Hypothetical Polls” HERE)

‘We Didn’t Feel Safe Anymore’: Famous Actor Joins Long List of Celebrities Fleeing California

Actor Kirk Cameron announced Wednesday that he has moved from California to Tennessee, joining a growing list of celebrities who have left the Golden State, the Washington Examiner reported.

The former “Growing Pains” and “Left Behind” star said that he had been “seriously” thinking about leaving California over the past few years, especially after the state issued strict regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Washington Examiner.

Cameron, who said he asked fans in 2021 to suggest states they would prefer living in, told the publication that California was causing “so much division” and that he wanted to live in a community that had a “healthy freedom-mindset.”

“It’s pretty clear that California has been moving in a particular direction for a long time,” the actor said.

The list of celebrities who have recently fled California include Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone and YouTube podcaster Dave Rubin, who announced on X in 2021 that he was “officially leaving the dystopian nightmare of California for the free state of Florida.” (Read more from “‘We Didn’t Feel Safe Anymore’: Famous Actor Joins Long List of Celebrities Fleeing California” HERE)

Biden Doubles-Down on Remaining in Presidential Race: ‘I’m Staying In’

President Joe Biden doubled down on staying in the presidential election despite concerns after his poor debate performance last week.

At a rally in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, Biden told the crowd that he was “running” and was “going to win” the presidential election again.

“You probably heard, we had a little debate last week,” Biden told the crowd. “Can’t say it was my best performance. But, ever since then, there’s been a lot of speculation, ‘What’s Joe going to do? Is he going to stay in the race? Is he going to drop out? What’s he going to do?’ Well, here’s my answer, I am running and going to win again.”

As the crowd began chanting, “Let’s go, Joe!” Biden told them that he was the “sitting President of the United States of America,” adding that voters “came through” for him in the 2020 presidential election.

“I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party,” Biden added. “I’m the nominee of this party because millions of Democrats like you just voted for me in primaries all across America.” (Read more from “Biden Doubles-Down on Remaining in Presidential Race: ‘I’m Staying In’” HERE)

Iconic Actor Breaks Silence on Fourth of July Parade Brawl After He’s Hit With Water Balloons: ‘That’s When I Panicked’

Danny Trejo claimed he was targeted when he was struck with a water balloon during a Fourth of July parade in Los Angeles, which led to a chaotic brawl involving the iconic actor.

The “Machete” star was riding in the passenger seat in a baby blue convertible alongside his buddy Mario Castillo, driving through the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood when a water balloon was thrown at them, the actor told TMZ.

Trejo said he panicked when he seemingly heard somebody yell that the balloon contained “acid.”

“I’m so sad, by the way I behaved, so sad that grown men have to throw water balloons to enjoy a day,” Trejo told the outlet. “I don’t think I would’ve gotten out of the car if someone hadn’t yelled ‘it’s acid.’ That’s when I panicked,” he added.

Trejo hopped out of the car to confront a group of people on the sidewalk and began fighting with one man who wore a black sleeveless shirt. (Read more from “Iconic Actor Breaks Silence on Fourth of July Parade Brawl After He’s Hit With Water Balloons: ‘That’s When I Panicked’” HERE)

Fourth of July BBQ Meal Up $11.72 Since Biden White House Bragged Price Dropped $0.16 in 2021

It is growing more costly to enjoy a celebratory meal on Independence Day in President Joe Biden’s (D) economy.

In an email Wednesday, RNC Research pointed to the fact Americans will see the “most expensive Independence Day on Record” this year.

“After the Biden White House attempted to brag about the price of an Independence Day barbecque going down by $0.16 in 2021, the same meal has since increased by $11.72 since then,” the email read, citing the American Farm Bureau Federation.

In July 2021, the White House posted a video in which it claimed that because of Biden’s economic policies, the cost of a Fourth of July barbecue had fallen since 2020, Breitbart News reported at the time.

“The cost of a Fourth of July cookout in 2021 is down $0.16 cents from last year,” the clip said:
