What Are NIH Officials Hiding?: Fauci to Testify on America’s Response to COVID-19

Expect fireworks. On Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci is scheduled to testify under oath before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic to account for his performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci, former director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, appeared before the select subcommittee earlier this year for a closed-door, 14-hour transcribed interview conducted over two days.

Needless to say, congressional investigators have a lot of ground to cover Monday, ranging from Fauci’s advice on mask mandates to his oversight of coronavirus research grants and response to the Chinese origins of the global pandemic.

Meanwhile, subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, has requested that Fauci, who retired at the end of 2022 after 38 years heading NIAID, turn over personal email accounts and cellphone records.

The reason: Dr. David Morens, Fauci’s senior adviser for over two decades, revealed to the subcommittee under oath May 22 that he transmitted official records to Fauci through his own personal email to avoid congressional inquiries or public oversight under the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA. State Considers Legislation Concealing Students’ Gender Transitions From Parents

In November, a poll found 68% of Americans across party lines thought parents should be notified “if their child changes their gender identification or preferred pronouns at school.” And while some are shocked this is a controversial topic to begin with, many are not-so shocked to learn the state of California has proved to be an epicenter of these debates.

When the Chino Valley Unified School District board, led by President Sonja Shaw, met in July to discuss a potential policy that would require parental notification if their children attempted gender transitions at school, they were confronted by California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. Later, in August, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat, sued the school district after it established a policy “requiring faculty and staff to notify parents of students’ attempted gender transitions,” The Washington Stand previously reported.

Now, the battle continues. Thurmond has brought a new bill to the table, AB 1955, which California Democrats are eager to codify into law. The bill reflects the views of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, which, in effect, would reverse the parent-friendly policy currently in place.

The text states:

This bill would prohibit school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the state special schools, and a member of the governing board or body of those educational entities, from enacting or enforcing any policy, rule, or administrative regulation that requires an employee or a contractor to disclose any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by law, as provided.

Hunter Biden’s Latest Legal Allegation Could Be ‘Very Bad’ for American Journalism, Analysts Say

Jammed in the letter Hunter Biden’s lawyers sent to Fox News, which led to the company pulling a documentary, is a legal allegation that has serious implications for American journalism, analysts told the Daily Caller.

Biden’s lawyers accused Fox of unlawfully exploiting his name, image and likeness (NIL) and violating revenge porn laws. The first son’s legal team also argued that certain claims made by former FBI confidential human source (CHS) Alexander Smirnov, which Fox used in their reporting, had been “debunked.” Aaron Terr, Director of Public Advocacy for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), told the Daily Caller that if the revenge porn allegations were to succeed, “that would be a very bad ruling for a free press.”

“The media has the first amendment right to publish even illegally obtained information as long as they didn’t participate in the illegal conduct itself. So, of course, the government can punish the hacker. But the First Amendment broadly protects the right of the press to report on information in the public interest, or that’s already been made publicly available, even if some uninvolved party was responsible or participated in some illegal activity that resulted in the information becoming public,” Terr said.

Biden’s lawyers demanded the network remove their documentary, “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” from their Fox Nation streaming platform. The Biden team asserts the usage of the pictures violates his privacy rights under New York Civil Rights Law and that the series exploits his NIL.

“Here, without Mr. Biden’s consent, Fox Nation produced and aired an entirely fictional six-part ‘mock trial,’” Biden’s lawyers wrote. They argue that Fox was not reporting on a newsworthy event, but rather “sought to ‘commercialize Mr. Biden’s personality through a form of treatment distinct from the dissemination of news or information.’” (Read more from “Hunter Biden’s Latest Legal Allegation Could Be ‘Very Bad’ for American Journalism, Analysts Say” HERE)

Trump Campaign Announces Nearly $53 Million Raised in 24 Hours After Conviction

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign announced on Friday that it had raised nearly $53 million in the 24 hours after Trump’s conviction by a New York jury.

Jurors in Trump’s business records trial found the former president guilty on all 34 counts related to payments made to adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.

“In the 24 hours since Crooked Joe Biden and his New York henchmen got their sham trial verdict, the Trump Campaign has raised $52.8 million through the online digital fundraising platform,” the Trump campaign wrote. “THAT’S MORE THAN $2 MILLION PER HOUR!”

The Trump campaign added that over “one third” of these donations were from new donors.

After the Manhattan jury found Trump guilty, WinRed, the Republican Party’s official online donation website crashed due to the high volume of internet traffic. (Read more from “Trump Campaign Announces Nearly $53 Million Raised in 24 Hours After Conviction” HERE)

Trump Campaign Raises Record $34.8 Million in Donations After Guilty Verdict

President Joe Biden on Friday defended the conviction of former President Donald Trump and claimed it was “reckless” for his gagged political opponent to call it “rigged.”

Trump called the trial a “scam” and vowed to appeal the guilty verdict.

About two hours after Trump spoke, Biden directly mentioned Trump by name in a carefully crafted press conference. “The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed,” Biden claimed. “Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself.”

Biden pointed out that Trump’s lawyers chose the jury in Manhattan — a location from which Trump tried to move the case. The Manhatten jury pool more often than not leaned politically left, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said during jury selection.

“The jury heard five weeks of evidence, five weeks. After careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict,” Biden said, speaking slowly. “They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts. Ex-Democrats, Independents, And Newbie Donors Throw Cash At Trump After Manhattan Show Trial; Campaign Raises Record $34.8 Million in Donations After Guilty Verdict

By The Federalist. When the guilty verdict came down Thursday afternoon in that Manhattan kangaroo court, the credit cards came out in support of former President Donald Trump.

Voters who said they had been on the fence about the GOP’s three-time presidential nominee, resisted him in the past, or had just never contributed to a political campaign are reaching for their wallets following the banana republic prosecution, trial, and verdict.

“I just made my first political donation in my entire life. Those that want to destroy this country left me NO CHOICE. Trump 2024,” Chandler Crump, who bills himself as a 19-year-old Billboard charting artist and freedom fighter, wrote on his X account. . .

The WinRed fundraising platform the former president’s 2024 campaign uses crashed following the jury’s verdict, reportedly because of a surge in interest and donations. The jury found Trump guilty of all 34 nebulous counts of falsifying business records filed by far-left prosecutor Alvin Bragg, who campaigned for the office on a platform of going after Trump. Billed as a “hush money” trial on alleged payments made to a pornographer, Bragg performed extralegal alchemy in transforming a languishing misdemeanor charge into a federal campaign finance felony. Not even the conflicted judge in the case, a donor to President Joe Biden’s campaign, seemed to fully understand the charges but knew enough to block an elections law expert from testifying that there was no crime.

What Americans — and the world — witnessed over the past several weeks was a Soviet-style show trial against Biden’s political opponent and the left’s public enemy No. 1. The stuff of banana republics. They got what they wanted: hanging the albatross of “convicted felon” around Trump’s neck as he looks to chase Biden from the White House and the swamp creatures from the federal government, even though the former president is immediately appealing the guilty verdict. Trump Campaign Raises Record $34.8 Million in Donations After Guilty Verdict

By CNBC. The Trump campaign said Friday it nearly doubled its single-day fundraising record after a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty in his criminal hush money trial.

The Republican’s campaign said it raised $34.8 million from small-dollar donors in less than seven hours following the historic verdict Thursday afternoon that convicted the former president of 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Nearly 30% of those donors were brand new to the Trump donation site WinRed, senior campaign advisors Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a press release.

The advisors echoed Trump’s post-trial vow that the “real verdict” will come on Election Day, Nov. 5, when he is set to face President Joe Biden in a rematch of their 2020 contest. (Read more from “Trump Campaign Raises Record $34.8 Million in Donations After Guilty Verdict” HERE)

Mayor Ripped Over Plan to Give 11-Year-Old Kids, Migrants Voting Powers

Boston’s woke Mayor Michelle Wu has been ripped over a “tone-deaf” and “unserious” plan to give kids as young as 11 and undocumented migrants voting rights when it comes to deciding how millions of dollars in public funds are doled out.

The city’s new participatory budget voting process, which will go into effect in July, gives ordinary Bostonians the ability to decide how a portion of the city’s budget will be spent, the Boston Herald reported.

City Councilor Ed Flynn, a Democrat, slammed the new process — specifically the involvement of children — during a committee hearing reviewing Wu’s fiscal year 2025 budget earlier this week.

He also aired his grievances in a letter to the Office of Participatory Budgeting’s director, Renato Castelo, in which he flagged his “unequivocal and vehement opposition” to the looming process.

“During this time of great fiscal uncertainty — with a study warning that remote work policies and the city’s declining commercial property values may cost us $500 million in revenue annually, as well as a subsequent proposal to also tax commercial property at a higher rate — now more than ever, it is critical that we show the taxpayers of Boston that we take our financial responsibilities seriously,” Flynn wrote. Joe Manchin Leaves Democratic Party

Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia announced Friday that he was leaving the Democratic Party and registering as an independent.

Manchin announced in November that he would not be seeking re-election for his senate seat, fueling rumors that the senator may be considering a gubernatorial or presidential run, according to Politico. Manchin, 76, who has served in the Senate since 2010 and a member of the Democratic Party for decades, announced the decision on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that he wanted to “bring the country together.”

“My commitment to do everything I can to bring our country together has led me to register as an independent with no party affiliation,” Manchin wrote.

Democrats, Media Hype Trump as a ‘Convicted Felon’

Democrats and the leftist media are now hyping former President Donald Trump as a convicted felon following a Manhattan jury finding him guilty on all 34 counts in his business records trial.

It did not take long for the anti-Trump world to run off with the guilty verdict, framing Trump as a convicted felon. That coincides with reports of the Biden-Harris HQ celebrating the verdict.

The New York Times editorial board released an op-ed with the title, “Donald Trump, Felon,” beginning it this way:

In a humble courtroom in Lower Manhattan on Thursday, a former president and current Republican standard-bearer was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The jury’s decision, and the facts presented at the trial, offer yet another reminder — perhaps the starkest to date — of the many reasons Donald Trump is unfit for office.

Tucker Carlson: Trump ‘Could Be Killed’ Before Having Chance to Win Election

Tucker Carlson took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to throw his support behind Donald Trump after he was found guilty in the criminal hush money trial.

The political commentator … claimed the former president “could be killed” before making it to the November 5 election.

He wrote: “Import the Third World, become the Third World. That’s what we just saw. This won’t stop Trump.

“He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family.” . . .

The Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of falsifying business records after more than nine hours of deliberations over two days in the case stemming from a hush money payment to porn actor Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign.
