Judge Rescinds Permission for Trump to Give His Own Closing Argument at His Civil Fraud Trial

Donald Trump won’t make his own closing argument in his New York civil business fraud trial after his lawyers objected to the judge’s insistence that the former president would stick to “relevant” matters.

Judge Arthur Engoron rescinded permission on Wednesday, a day ahead of closing arguments in the trial.

The trial could cost Trump hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties and strip him of his ability to do business in New York. His lawyers had signaled last week that he planned to take the extraordinary step of delivering a summation personally, in addition to arguments from his legal team. Alleged ‘Undercover Agent’ Ray Epps Sentenced to One Year of Probation, Zero Prison Time for Jan. 6; Conservatives Outraged

By ABC News. Former Oath Keeper Ray Epps was sentenced to one year of probation on Tuesday for his role during the attack at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

In addition to the year of probation, Epps received a $25 fine, $500 restitution and 100 hours of community service. . .

Epps was sentenced Tuesday as former President Donald Trump — who himself echoed [claims] that Epps was an undercover government agent — appeared in court for his arguments on his claims of presidential immunity. . .

Epps turned himself in to the FBI and voluntarily sat for an interview with the FBI and publicly testified before the House Select Committee in January 2022. He had no prior arrests. . .

Questions Surround Epps Light Jan. 6 Sentence

By Newsweek. Ray Epps was sentenced on Tuesday to one year of probation for his role in the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol in 2021, prompting widespread criticism on social media from conservatives and supporters of the MAGA movement.

“BREAKING: Ray Epps sentenced to 1 year probation, $500 fine after telling J6ers ‘we need to go into the Capitol’ Why did Epps text his nephew ‘I orchestrated it’? Why was Epps on the FBI’s most wanted list and then suddenly removed? Why did the New York Times write a puff piece on Epps? Why is Epps receiving such a kid gloves treatment?” conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk wrote on X, formerly Twitter. . .

The AP also reported that many conservative voices speculated that Epps was an undercover agent involved in the January 6 riots.

Many other social media users also reacted to the news of Epps’ sentencing on Tuesday, such as X user Baked Alaska, who was previously arrested for his role in the January 6 riots.

‘This Is Insane’: Elon Musk Goes on Tear to Expose Ease of Election Fraud in U.S.

Elon Musk has launched a barrage of messages to sound the alarm about the lack of election integrity in America and the “insane” ease by which voter fraud can be committed.

“In the USA, you don’t need government issued ID to vote and you can mail in your ballot,” Musk began Monday night. . .

Musk added: “We should require government ID and in-person voting (unless valid medical/ military/etc excuse), like other countries do or like if you want to buy beer.”

He then said with an accompanying video: “Claiming that people can’t figure out how to get ID is racist and should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.”

Musk also noted: “Literally the same people who said voter ID was racist also demanded that you get a vaccine ID to travel anywhere or work!”

Woman Says ‘Raging’ Stranger Tried to Break Down Her Front Door: ‘Then I Shot. I Fired.’

An Arizona woman says that she fired through her front door in order to protect herself and her 16-year-old son when a strange man tried to break it down.

The harrowing incident began over the weekend as Jenele Williams and her son tried to leave their apartment in order to go to the grocery store. Instead, they ran back inside. She said that she saw a man yelling and screaming at the apartment complex.

She says the man turned his attention to her apartment and started trying to break down her door after he saw her.

“I opened my door like a deer caught in headlights. We make eye contact and I was like, oh you’re right here,” she told KSAZ-TV. “To almost knock a door down like that, you have to be really raging.” . . .

“It was going to come down. I saw it bend in, like bend, not break or crack, just bend. That’s when I was announcing already, ‘Hey, I got a gun, I got a gun. Get away from my house.’ Then, I shot. I fired,” she said.

Comedian Torches Hollywood at Golden Globes With ‘Pedophile’ Jab in Wake of Epstein List Reveal

Comedian Jim Gaffigan torched Hollywood during Sunday’s 2024 Golden Globes Awards with a “pedophile” jab in the wake of last week’s headline-grabbing Jeffrey Epstein list disclosures.

Gaffigan was presenting the first-ever Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television award, Decider reported, and amid his deadpan riffing, the comic dropped the following bomb on Tinseltown:

“I can’t even believe I’m in the entertainment industry, I can’t,” Gaffigan said. “You know, it’s so unlikely. I’m from a small town in Indiana. I’m not a pedophile. … I don’t know if that’s a new category here …”

Laughter and even a smattering of applause from the crowd were audible after Gaffigan uttered the “pedophile” part of his joke.

Critics have been demanding the names of politicians and celebrities who may have been connected with an underage sex-trafficking ring operated by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and on Friday a third set of documents totaling about 1,300 pages was released in relation to a 2015 defamation lawsuit against Maxwell by one of Epstein’s victims. James Comer: White House Deceived Americans About Hunter Biden

The White House reportedly “deceived” the American people about Hunter Biden’s art deals, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said in a Tuesday statement.

White House officials reportedly helped create an agreement under which a professional gallerist would negotiate sales on Hunter’s behalf and keep the details hidden from the first son, people familiar with the agreement told the Washington Post in 2021.

Comer claimed Tuesday that the White House agreement is a “sham,” citing the committee’s transcribed interview with Georges Bergès, the gallerist entrusted with handling Hunter’s art deals.

“The Biden White House appears to have deceived the American people about facilitating an ethics agreement governing the sale of Hunter Biden’s art,” Comer said in a press release. “Hunter Biden’s gallerist never had any communication with the White House about such an agreement to make sure there was any sort of ethics compliance at all, and he provided information to the committee revealing how Hunter Biden’s amateur art career is an ethics nightmare.”

“The vast majority of Hunter Biden’s art has been purchased by Democrat donors, one of whom was appointed by President Biden to a prestigious commission after she purchased Hunter Biden’s art for tens of thousands of dollars shortly after Joe Biden’s inauguration. Entire High School Goes Temporarily Virtual to Make Room for Roughly 2,000 Illegal Aliens

An entire New York high school will temporarily go virtual to make room for roughly 2,000 migrants, it announced Tuesday.

More than 160,000 migrants came to New York City over the past year, and Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has repeatedly asked the federal government for assistance in dealing with them. Migrants are being relocated from Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field to James Madison High School Jan. 10 due to potential flooding and windy conditions, according to the school.

“I am writing with an update regarding the activation of James Madison High School as a temporary overnight respite center due to the forecast of potential high winds and flooding conditions beginning this evening through tomorrow morning. To ensure a smooth transition for families temporarily sheltering overnight in the building, our school building will be closed on Wednesday, January 10 and school will be in session remotely for all students,” Jodie Cohen, principal of James Madison High School, wrote in a press release.

Adams and several other mayors of sanctuary cities, including Denver and Chicago, requested additional funding from the White House and Congress, as well as coordination with state and local governments, to deal with migrants. Denver has received more than 34,000 migrants, and Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston said “cities will have to look at dramatically reducing the amount of services we offer” due to the migrants. Defense Secretary’s Hospitalization Cause Revealed

The Pentagon revealed Tuesday that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was treated for prostate cancer, shortly after the White House launched a review into his being hospitalized for days without telling the president, the national security adviser, his own deputy, and members of Congress.

According to a Pentagon statement released on Tuesday, Austin underwent a “minimally invasive surgical procedure called a prostatectomy to treat and cure prostate cancer” that was identified in early December.

However, on Monday, January 1, 2024, Austin had complications from the surgery, including nausea with severe abdominal, hip, and leg pain, the statement said.

“Initial evaluation revealed a urinary tract infection. On January 2, the decision was made to transfer him to the ICU for close monitoring and a higher level of care,” the statement said. . .

“Further evaluation revealed abdominal fluid collections impairing the function of his small intestines. This resulted in the back up of his intestinal contents which was treated by placing a tube through his nose to drain his stomach. Trump Reveals Ted Kennedy’s Thoughts of Joe Biden as the ‘Dumbest’ Senator

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former President Donald Trump shared an intriguing account of a conversation with the late Senator Ted Kennedy, revealing that Kennedy once regarded now-President Joe Biden as the “dumbest” person in the U.S. Senate.

Trump, who ran against Biden in the 2020 presidential election, described Biden as a “very vicious guy” surrounded by “vicious people,” emphasizing that despite the public perception of Biden as ‘nice,’ his true nature is different.

The former president recounted an encounter with Ted Kennedy, a Palm Beach resident, where he asked Kennedy about the smartest and dumbest individuals in the Senate. According to Trump, Kennedy identified Joe Biden as the “dumbest” due to his alleged lack of understanding of complex concepts, policies, and issues such as taxes.

Trump suggested that Biden’s ability to project an image of niceness has allowed him to deceive the American public, even though, according to Kennedy, he may lack intellectual acumen. The former president argued that Biden’s current advisors are ‘vicious’ and will ultimately contribute to his downfall.

Kennedy, a long-serving senator from Massachusetts, passed away in August 2009, during Barack Obama’s first term when Biden served as vice president.

Additionally, Trump accused Biden of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He expressed his belief that leftists steering Biden’s administration are motivated by a desire to cling to power, even at the expense of the country’s well-being.

Trump raised concerns about the weaponization of government institutions against political opponents, describing it as a dangerous move resembling tactics seen in third-world countries. He asserted that these leftists are “unrestrained lunatics” willing to do whatever it takes, but expressed confidence that his side will prevail.

DOJ Files Statement of Interest in Lawsuit From Transgender Inmate

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a statement of interest in a lawsuit brought in Georgia claiming that the denial of transgender care violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

“People with gender dysphoria should be able to seek the full protections of the American with Disabilities Act [sic], just like other people with disabilities,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “We are committed to ensuring constitutional conditions inside our jails and prisons so that those detained inside these facilities, including people with gender dysphoria can live safely and receive needed medical care. The U.S. Constitution requires that people incarcerated in jails and prisons receive necessary medical care, treatment and services to address serious medical conditions.”

The lawsuit alleges that the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) violated a transgender inmate’s rights under the ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, and the U.S. Constitution by denying treatment for transgenderism.

“The protections of the U.S. Constitution and the Americans with Disabilities Act do not stop at the doorsteps of our jails and prisons,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan for the Northern District of Georgia. “Our office remains committed to ensuring that all people with disabilities, including those with gender dysphoria, continue to receive access to such medically necessary treatments, even while they are in custody.”

In another case from Missouri, Kelly McSean, a transgender inmate convicted of rape and pedophilia, has filed a civil rights lawsuit after being denied female undergarments at the St. Francois County Jail and South Missouri Mental Health Center.
