Trump Gains ‘Largest Lead’ of His Career as 2024 Rematch Looms

Former President Donald Trump has been leading the ever-shrinking field of 2024 Republican presidential hopefuls, and a new national primary election poll from Morning Consult has the 45th president leading the pack by a whopping 50 points as 2023 enters its final weeks and the first early state primary contests approach.

Conducted November 24 to 26, the survey showed Trump earning support from 64 percent of Republican primary voters, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with 14 percent, former Ambassador Nikki Haley with 10 percent, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy with 6 percent, and former Governor Chris Christie with 3 percent.

Trump’s already significant lead could grow, according to Morning Consult, because 29 percent — a “plurality of non-Trump supporters” — listed the former president as their second choice for 2024. “Such voters make up roughly 10% of the GOP’s expected electorate, suggesting that the former president’s support could continue to grow if lower-polling contenders drop their bids.”

After the primaries, Trump faces another general election battle against Joe Biden, a contest in which his prospects look bright at present with the biggest advantage in the RealClearPolitics polling average of his career. U.S. Marine Veteran Attacked in Prison While Jailed in Russia, Family Says

Paul Whelan, US Marine veteran who has been imprisoned in Russia for several years on what critics have said are false charges, was attacked Tuesday by another inmate, his family said.

David Whelan said his brother was assaulted at a labor camp Tuesday afternoon.

He said his brother was working at a sewing table when a new inmate blocked part of the production line and Paul asked him to move out of the way.

“After repeated requests, the prisoner hit Paul in the face, breaking Paul’s glasses in the process, and attempted to hit him a second time,” David Whelan said in an email statement. “Paul stood up to block the second hit and other prisoners intervened to prevent the prisoner continuing to attack Paul.”

He said his brother Paul has asked the prison warden if he can speak with local prosecutors for a possible investigation of the alleged attack. (Read more from “U.S. Marine Veteran Attacked in Prison While Jailed in Russia, Family Says” HERE)

Hunter Biden Finally Going to Face Hard Questions From Those Who Won’t ‘Ask Nicely’

. . .After years of delay and denials, the House is about to confirm exactly what the Bidens were so good at doing . . . and what foreign figures wanted so much that they were willing to pay the Bidens millions.

Hunter Biden is now scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Dec. 13 to answer questions about what is alleged to be the largest influence-peddling operation in history.

Despite being subpoenaed, Hunter is still demanding conditions for answering questions.

His lawyer, Abbe Lowell, previously said Hunter would testify only when “the time is right” and is now saying that Hunter would testify in public, not the scheduled private session.

Republicans rejected that demand. (Read more from “Hunter Biden Finally Going to Face Hard Questions From Those Who Won’t ‘Ask Nicely’” HERE)

Divisions Emerge Among Biden’s Aides Over Hunter Biden’s Legal Strategy

Aides for President Joe Biden and Democratic party operatives are reportedly divided on the political consequences of Hunter Biden’s legal counteroffensive.

Biden advisers and Democratic strategists have different perceptions of how Hunter Biden’s aggressive legal strategy will influence his father’s political fortunes as he runs for reelection, eight people close to President Biden and his son told Politico.

A former 2020 campaign aide told Politico some White House officials feel “irritated that he’s being more aggressive, because he is not clearing the tactics and the strategy.” Other aides are concerned Hunter Biden’s legal tactics increase the spotlight placed on his foreign business dealings and personal scandals, Politico reported.

Hunter Biden keeps his father up to date on his legal maneuvers and his legal team informs the White House ahead of any major legal decisions, a person close to his legal team told Politico.

The legal matters themselves are entirely decided by Hunter Biden and his lawyers, including the recent attempt to have a court authorize subpoenas for former President Donald Trump and former officials from Trump’s DOJ. Meet the Senior CIA Official Caught Posting Pro-Palestinian Content on Social Media

The top CIA official who changed her social media cover photo to a pro-Palestinian image two weeks after the Hamas terrorist organization carried out attacks on Israel is Associate Deputy Director for Analysis Amy McFadden, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

The original Oct. 21 photo of a man waving a Palestinian flag — often used in articles critical of Israel — is no longer publicly visible on the official’s social media, as the official, the associate deputy director for analysis at the CIA, changed the image after the Financial Times reached out Monday, the outlet reported. The DCNF identified the official as Amy McFadden, who has served in the CIA Directorate of Analysis front office since 2020, according to her LinkedIn profile.

McFadden worked in the CIA’s Counterterrorism center, was deputy in the Office of North African, Arabian Peninsula, and Regional Analysis and later was director of the President’s Daily Brief, according to her biography.

“The officer is a career analyst with extensive background in all aspects of the Middle East and this post [of the Palestinian flag] was not intended to express a position on the conflict,” a person familiar with the situation told the FT. The person added that the official also posted Facebook posts opposing antisemitism.

The official previously oversaw the assembly of the President’s Daily Briefing and is jointly responsible for managing all analysis distributed within the CIA, the FT reported. (Read more from “Meet the Senior CIA Official Caught Posting Pro-Palestinian Content on Social Media” HERE)

Teachers Encourages Students to Send Pro-Gay Letters to ‘Moms for Liberty’

Students at Seattle Public Schools sent letters decorated with rainbows and pro-LGBT slogans to parental rights group Moms for Liberty, the school confirmed to the Daily Caller on Tuesday.

Photos of the cards circulating online show a packet of letters sent with a note from public school teacher Ann Christianson.

“Please read the enclosed cards from concerned middle school students in Seattle, Washington,” Christianson’s note read.

Seattle Public Schools confirmed in a statement to the Caller that “the materials in question were sent last spring as an independent activity.”

“Seattle Public Schools is dedicated to fostering welcoming, inclusive, and identity-safe environments for all our students. We firmly uphold the rights of our students, staff, and families to express their authentic selves,” the statement continued. “We take great pride in our unwavering support for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families, which is reflected in our policies and everyday practices.” (Read more from “Teachers Encourages Students to Send Pro-Gay Letters to ‘Moms for Liberty’” HERE)

Democrat Mayor Blames ‘Right-Wing Extremists’ for City’s Problems

Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson blamed “right-wing extremism” for some of the ills facing his crime-ridden city.

Johnson issued his statement about the “far right” during a press conference on Tuesday.

“What we’ve seen is a very raggedy form of right-wing extremism”‘ the mayor said. “Everyone knows that the right-wing extremism in this country has targeted democratically run cities, and quite frankly, they have been quite intentional about going after democratically ran cities that are led by people of color.”

The mayor even said that such “right-wing extremists” aim to create “division and chaos because that is what that particular political party has been about.”

“It is the same party that wouldn’t accept that President Obama was actually an American. It’s the same Republican right-wing extremism that stormed the capital, it’s the same right-wing extremism that refuses to accept the results of the civil war. It’s raggedy. It’s disrespectful. It’s mean-spirited,” he said.

Senate Proposes Legislation for Study on Cellphone Impact in Classrooms Amid Concerns Over Mental Health and Academic Performance

Senate lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have drawn up legislation requiring the U.S. Department of Education to complete a study on the effects of cellphone use in K-12 classrooms on students’ mental health and academic performance.

Since learning levels plunged during the pandemic, lawmakers say an official examination of the effects of cellphones has become urgent

“We’ve made a lot of progress in our recovery from the depths of the pandemic. But there’s much more work to be done to help students overcome learning loss and excel in the classroom,” said Sen. Tim Kaine, Virginia Democrat and member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

“That includes looking into how cellphone use in schools is impacting students’ mental health and their ability to learn. This bill would help us do that, by gathering information and providing it to schools as they grapple with students’ use of cellphones in class and how to best set them up for success.”

Sen. Tom Cotton, Arkansas Republican and a co-sponsor of the bill, called widespread use of cellphones in schools “a distraction” at best. (Read more from “Senate Proposes Legislation for Study on Cellphone Impact in Classrooms Amid Concerns Over Mental Health and Academic Performance” HERE)

Mysterious Respiratory Illness in China Sparks Concerns as U.S. Sees Uptick of Sick Visits

The mysterious respiratory illnesses that are reportedly wreaking havoc in hospitals in China are now raising concerns for the medical community across the country and impacting Washington D.C., according to reports.

FOX 5 DC has learned that hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care locations and clinics are reportedly seeing an uptick in sick visits.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is also reportedly reviewing data from China after video surfaced showing several groups of people apparently being treated for what’s being described as a mystery respiratory illness, predominantly impacting children.

Chinese health officials are also insisting the surge in respiratory illnesses is caused by the flu and known pathogens.

On Thursday, Chinese health officials told the WHO that they have not detected any “unusual or novel diseases” regarding an increase in respiratory illnesses and pneumonia in children. ‘Pointless’ for Ukraine to Have Peace Talks With Russia: U.S.

Ukraine has nothing to gain from negotiations with Russia at this juncture, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s team.

“We see no indication that Russia is willing to entertain substantive, real peace negotiations,” Assistant Secretary James O’Brien, who leads the State Department’s Europe bureau, said Monday. “And it would be pointless to have a discussion on Ukraine’s side. It’s not a dialogue; it’s a monologue of surrender.”

O’Brien offered that assessment as Blinken travels to Brussels for the first meeting of NATO foreign ministers since Ukraine’s top military commander declared that the war has settled into a “stalemate.” That acknowledgment coincided with intensified disputes in Washington about continued American aid to Ukraine, but NATO leaders have maintained a public posture of solid backing for the embattled Ukrainian nation.

“This year, they continue to inflict heavy losses on Russia,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Monday. “Ukraine has recaptured 50% of the territory that Russia seized. It has prevailed as a sovereign, independent nation. This is a big win for Ukraine.”

That applause belies the angst about Ukraine’s inability to break through Russian fortifications in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces managed to seize a so-called land bridge linking the sovereign Russian territory to Crimea, the peninsula that Russian President Vladimir Putin annexed in 2014. Yet Ukraine retains the staunch support of at least some of NATO’s major powers. (Read more from “‘Pointless’ for Ukraine to Have Peace Talks With Russia: U.S.” HERE)
