Three Military Branches Lose Confirmed Leaders Amid Senate Impasse

Three branches of the U.S. military now lack Senate-confirmed chiefs amid a standoff over Pentagon nominees in the upper chamber.

As Adm. Mike Gilday relinquished command of naval operations on Monday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin issued a warning about the national security implications of being forced to rely on acting leadership.

“Because of this blanket hold, starting today, for the first time in the history of the Department of Defense, three of our military services are operating without Senate-confirmed leaders,” Lloyd said during a ceremony at the U.S. Naval Academy.

“This is unprecedented, it is unnecessary, and it is unsafe,” he added before calling on the Senate to end the deadlock.

President Joe Biden nominated Adm. Lisa Franchetti to lead the Navy, but she took over command in an acting capacity on Monday, joining leaders stuck in similar positions heading the Marine Corps and the Army. Ramaswamy Suggests Letting China Invade Taiwan Once U.S. No Longer Needs Its Semiconductors

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy suggested Monday that he would not commit to defending Taiwan — one of America’s top allies in Asia — against an attack from communist China if America were to no longer be reliant on Taiwan for semiconductors.

Ramaswamy told radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview Monday that China “should not mess with Taiwan until we have achieved semiconductor independence,” which he claimed he could achieve in less than four years. After that though, he said, his commitment to intervention would “change.”

“I’m being very clear: Xi Jinping should not mess with Taiwan until we have achieved semiconductor independence, until the end of my first term when I will lead us there,” Ramaswamy said Monday, as reported by the Washington Examiner. “And after that, our commitments to Taiwan, our commitments to be willing to go to military conflict, will change after that, because that’s rationally in our self-interest.”

Hewitt pointed out that Ramaswamy “drew a red line around Taiwan, a big, bright red line” and asked if that means there would be “war” if China invaded Taiwan before 2028 or the U.S. achieved semiconductor independence.

“I’m not committing to that,” Ramaswamy replied. He would commit, though, to continue to “deter” an invasion until the U.S. has semiconductor independence through various means, he said. Former FBI Agent: Biden Team Tipped off About Plan to Interview Hunter

A former FBI supervisory special agent (SSA) confirmed President Joe Biden’s 2020 transition team was tipped off about its plan to interview Hunter Biden, a newly released congressional transcript shows.

The former FBI agent, who worked for the bureau for 20 years and retired in June 2022, corroborated IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley’s testimony that the Secret Service and the Biden transition team were tipped off about a planned interview of Hunter Biden during United States Attorney for Delaware David Weiss’ investigation.

The former FBI agent first corroborated Shapley’s testimony in July. The House Oversight Committee released the transcript of the FBI agent’s testimony Monday:

The former FBI agent confirmed that both he and Shapley were told in early December 2019 not to approach Hunter Biden and instead wait for Hunter Biden’s call for the interview. Instead of receiving the call, they got a call from Hunter Biden’s attorney and were never granted an interview.

“IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley’s testimony that Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were tipped off is confirmed by a former FBI agent. Shapley and the FBI agent planned to interview Hunter Biden in December 2020, but learned the night before that the Biden transition team was tipped off,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said in a press release. GOP Rep. Moves to Impeach President Biden Over Alleged Ties to Hunter Dealings

A Republican congressman from Florida unveiled articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden on Friday, alleging he was deeply tied to allegations and investigations surrounding his son Hunter.

Rep. Greg Steube, a member of the House’s far-right Freedom Caucus, alleged that Biden was complicit in his family members’ business machinations and took steps to protect them from the legal fallout.

“It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden,” Steube said in a statement. “The evidence continues to mount by the day – the Biden Crime Family has personally profited off Joe’s government positions through bribery, threats, and fraud.”

“Joe Biden must not be allowed to continue to sit in the White House, selling out our country.”

Steube laid out four articles of impeachment: abuse of power, obstruction of justice, fraud and financial involvement in drugs and prostitution. (Read more from “GOP Rep. Moves to Impeach President Biden Over Alleged Ties to Hunter Dealings” HERE)

Judge Orders 3 Southwest Lawyers Take Religious Liberty Training After Trampling on First Amendment

A federal judge ordered three Southwest Airlines lawyers to undergo “religious-liberty training” after it fired an attendant who had anti-abortion beliefs, according to reports.

U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr said the lawyers who defied court orders should brush up on their First Amendment knowledge at the Christian group “Alliance Defending Freedom,” ruling the organization “is particularly well-suited” to teach them, according to the New York Post. Starr said the three lawyers did not understand federal protections for religious freedom, Fortune reported.

Charlene Carter sued the airline after she was fired following more than 20 years on the job. Carter posted several social media posts criticizing the union boss who attended a pro-abortion “Women’s March” in 2017.

“You truly are despicable in so many ways,” Carter allegedly wrote in one message, Fortune reported. Carter was fired and subsequently filed a lawsuit in which she was awarded $5.1 million by a Dallas jury which was later lowered to $800,000. Prosecutors in Criminal Investigation Into Joe Biden Push to Interview President

Prosecutors in the criminal investigation into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified information are reportedly negotiating with his attorneys over the terms that he will be interviewed under.

NBC News reported that Special Counsel Robert Hur, who served in the Trump administration, is in the process of nailing down when, where, and how the interview will take place, and how expansive the questions will be.

The criminal investigation into Biden, which has taken a backseat in the media to his son’s and former President Donald Trump’s legal troubles, began back in January when classified information dating back to when Biden was a U.S. Senator was discovered at multiple locations connected to him.

Typically, when prosecutors begin pressing to interview the person at center of an investigation, it signals that the probe is reaching its final stages.

The latest development in the criminal investigation into President Biden was overshadowed on Friday by the news that the U.S. attorney investigating his son, Hunter Biden, has been appointed “special counsel” in that investigation. Obama’s Letter to Ex-GF Unredacted: ‘I Make Love to Men Daily, but in the Imagination’

Some redacted parts of former President Barack Obama’s letter to his ex-girlfriend were revealed over the weekend, in which he reportedly said that he fantasized about men on a daily basis.

The news comes after historian David Garrow — who wrote Obama’s 2017 biography “Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama” — during a recent interview with journalist David Samuels talked about various aspects of the president’s life, both politically and personally. Garrow said the letter was the most surprising thing he learned about Obama.

The New York Post reported that the redacted portion of the 1982 letter — which is owned by Emory University and no one is allowed to photograph — was transcribed by Garrow’s friend Harvey Klehr and sent to Garrow.

“In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life,” Obama wrote in 1982. “You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination.”

Obama, 21 years old at the time, said in the letter to Alex McNear that his mind was part male and part female. (Read more from “Obama’s Letter to Ex-GF Unredacted: ‘I Make Love to Men Daily, but in the Imagination’” HERE)

CNN: Trump Lawyers Received ‘Written Invitation’ to Inspect GA Voting Machines

CNN reported Sunday that lawyers for the 2020 presidential campaign of President Donald Trump received a “written invitation” to inspect voting machines and software in Georgia’s Coffee County — though that is not how CNN’s headline portrayed it.

In the CNN story, Trump is described as being implicated in a “voting system breach,” implying that he had personally hacked into voting systems, or that his campaign had done so. But the “breach” happened after the election, and appeared authorized.

CNN’s lead story on Sunday is titled: “Messages show Trump’s team behind voting system breach.” The article itself connects the “breach” with an imminent indictment of Trump that is expected in Georgia’s Fulton County over 2020 election challenges.

The article’s first paragraph drops the hint that the “breach” occurred in Georgia, not nationwide; and that it was not prior to the 2020 election, or the 2024 election, but rather in the aftermath of the 2020 election, when questions arose about potential fraud. Biden-Harris to Pass On Visiting Maui: They ‘Don’t Want to Distract’ From Relief Efforts

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will not visit Maui in the aftermath of the deadly wildfires because they “don’t want to distract” from the relief efforts, Harris announced on Friday.

The wildfires, which began Tuesday and continue to blaze, have destroyed acres of property and taken dozens of lives. On Friday, local officials announced the death toll increased to 67, making it the deadliest wildfire on U.S. soil since the 2018 Camp Fire in California killed at least 85 people.

The wildfires have destroyed at least 2,000 acres of land, including 80 percent of the Maui town Lahaina, a rich cultural area that was once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Neither Biden nor Harris will visit the devastated Hawaiian island despite the destruction, according to Harris. (Read more from “Biden-Harris to Pass On Visiting Maui: They ‘Don’t Want to Distract’ From Relief Efforts” HERE)
