Trump Rips Jan. 6 Arraignment, Calling It ‘Persecution of a Political Opponent’

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump blasted the indictment against him as “persecution of a political opponent” not long after pleading not guilty to charges he tried to overturn the 2020 election.

“This is a very sad day for America. And it was also very sad driving through Washington, DC, and seeing the filth and the decay and all of the broken buildings and walls of the graffiti. This is not the place that I left, it’s a very sad thing to see it,” he told reporters before boarding his so-called Trump Force One at Reagan National Airport.

“When you look at what’s happening, this is a persecution of a political opponent. This was never supposed to happen in America. This is the persecution of the person that’s leading by very very substantial numbers in the Republican primary and leading Biden by a lot,” he continued.

Trump Pleads Not Guilty to 2020 Election Charges During D.C. Arraignment

By Daily Wire. Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to four alleged crimes related to the January 6, 2020, Capitol riot and 2020 election on Thursday.

Trump was arraigned in a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., after a grand jury voted Tuesday to indict the former president on counts of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Trump attorney Alina Habba spoke outside the D.C. courthouse, accusing the Department of Justice of targeting Trump to cover up negative news about President Joe Biden and his family. . .

Trump posted on his social media site, Truth Social, ahead of the court hearing, accusing Biden of corruption.

“Biden and his family steal Millions and Millions of Dollars, including BRIBES from foreign countries, and I’m headed to D.C. to be ARRESTED for protesting a CROOKED ELECTION. CNN Poll: Americans Trust Congressional Republicans to Run the Country Far More Than Biden

A CNN polling analyst said results from the news outlet’s latest poll was “very worrying” for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.

The latest CNN poll found that far more Americans trust congressional Republicans on national issues than those who trust the current president.

Only 45% said they trusted Biden while 54% said they trusted congressional Republicans more. The poll also found that 51% of Americans believed the economy was in a slump and getting worse.

The poll comes at a time when the Biden re-election campaign has tried to tout recent economic statistics to persuade American voters that “Bidenomics” have worked and improved their economic situation.

NYT Writer Admits Jack Smith’s Charges Against Trump Are ‘Weak’

A New York Times senior writer described Special Counsel Jack Smith’s charges against former President Donald Trump as weak in a legal breakdown published Thursday.

David Leonhardt argued in his Times article that Trump did not violate any laws “in obvious ways” in the lead-up to or during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot. He pointed out that Trump did not “directly” tell the Jan. 6 rioters to attack the Capitol and that he told the “Stop the Steal” rally protesters to remain peaceful.

“As for Trump’s broader effort to overturn the election result, no federal law specifically bars politicians from attempting to do so,” he wrote.

The former president is charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights. Suspect Accused in Vicious Beating of Cop ‘Wanted to Kill a White Police Officer,’ Prosecutor Says

The suspect accused in a vicious beating of a Cincinnati cop last month “wanted to kill a white police officer,” Hamilton County prosecutor Melissa Powers said, according to WCPO-TV.

Brandon Claiborne, 34, was initially charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault after police said he beat Officer Terry McGuffey with his own baton, tried to “gouge the officer’s eyes out,” and struck him several times with a Taser on July 23, the station reported.

Claiborne now will face two aggravated robbery charges, two felonious assault charges, and an attempted murder charge, WCPO added, citing a grand jury indictment released Wednesday.

What’s more, Powers said in a press release that “the investigation determined Claiborne wanted to kill a white police officer,” the station noted.

‘It’s Amazing’: NBC News Promotes Disturbing LGBTQ Camp for Kids

NBC News promoted an LGBTQ+ camp for kids, calling it “amazing” with comments such as “Love that whole idea.”

“Summer camp is a time for kids to make life-long memories, right?” NBC News Daily host Kate Snow said, introducing the piece. “And that is exactly what New York’s new Country Pride Camp says that it does, all while aiming to also be inclusive.

“It’s amazing,” her cohost gushed. “The camp website describes it as a welcoming community of LGBTQ+ young people and staff to create an experience where everyone is able to thrive. NBC News correspondent Steven Romo got a first-hand look at the camp. Steven, did it make you want to be a kid again?”

“It brought back so many memories, guys,” Romo, who is gay, stated. “This camp’s only in its third year right now but parents and organizers agree it’s much needed; a place where these kids can not just be tolerated, but celebrated.”

“For many kids, camp helps add some sparkle to their summers,” Romo said over video of the camp. “At New Country Pride Camp, that sparkle? It’s a lot more literal. The 14th Street Y and New Country Day Camp are in the middle of Pride Camp. Now in its third year, the program is specifically aimed at serving LGBTQ+ kids and children of people in those communities. Two U.S. Navy Sailors Arrested on Espionage Charges Involving Alleged Ties to China

Two U.S. Navy sailors were arrested on national security-related charges related to allegedly sending sensitive military information to the Chinese Communist Party, federal officials said on Thursday.

“These individuals stand accused of violating the commitments they made to protect the United States and betraying the public trust, to the benefit of the [People’s Republic of China] government,” Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division, said in a news release.

U.S. Navy Sailor Jinchao Wei, an active-duty machinist’s mate on the amphibious U.S.S. Essex assault ship stationed at Naval Base San Diego, was arrested on Wednesday for espionage-related charges upon arriving for work at the homeport of the Navy’s Pacific Fleet in California.

Wei, 22, was indicted for conspiracy to send national defense information to a Chinese intelligence officer who allegedly communicated with Wei using encrypted messages to provide photos, videos and documents about the U.S.S. Essex and other Navy ships as early as February 2022, according to U.S. officials. Wei allegedly disclosed the locations of various Navy ships, defensive weapons, technical and mechanical manuals to the intelligence officer in exchange for thousands of dollars over the course of the conspiracy. The sailor also allegedly passed along information about the number of U.S. Marines training during previously scheduled international maritime warfare exercises. Xi Jinping Wants to ‘Hollow Out Taiwan From Within,’ Ex-CIA Official Warns

China’s ruling Communist Party is preparing for war over Taiwan, but President Xi Jinping would much rather take control of the U.S.-backed island democracy without a military clash.

His plan, for now, is to tilt the Taiwanese presidential election in January in Beijing’s favor.

That’s the assessment of David Sauer, a former U.S. intelligence officer with deep experience in the region. He said China’s strategy is to “hollow out Taiwan from within” and “create chaos” around the election to seat a president who will push the island toward unification with the communist mainland.

Chinese officials are engaged in a campaign to “manipulate [the election] in their favor,” said Mr. Sauer, a retired CIA officer who served in multiple overseas command positions in East Asia and South Asia. Trump on Romney: ‘Mitt’s a Loser,’ ‘The Right Candidate Will Beat Him’ in Utah Primary

Former President Donald Trump, the leading 2024 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is a “loser.”

Trump made the comments about Romney, who carpet-bagged his way into a U.S. Senate seat from Utah after he lost the 2012 presidential election after his governorship in the northeastern Bay State, Massachusetts, during a nearly hour-long exclusive on-camera interview last week at his golf club here.

“Mitt’s a loser. He’s been a loser for a long time,” Trump said when asked to respond to Romney’s recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal in which the failed presidential candidate called for the crowded GOP field in 2024 to winnow itself down to try to stop Trump from getting the nomination again.

Trump also bashed Romney for marching with Black Lives Matter protesters in Washington, DC, in 2020, mocking Romney for wearing a mask during it and saying some of the leftists with whom he was marching were really bad folks.

“He has no respect in the Republican Party,” Trump continued about Romney. “He’s a terrible Republican. I think he’s terrible for the nation also. I saw him marching with the Antifa and the groups down in Washington with his mask on—you couldn’t even see his face. They were marching, and these were real terrorists—very bad people he was marching with. Hunter Business Partner: Bidens ‘Intimidated’ People Not to Legally Mess With Them

The Biden brand “intimidated” people to not legally mess with the Biden family, Devon Archer told Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) during his transcribed congressional interview.

Archer, who testified that Hunter Biden included then-Vice President Joe Biden on speakerphone more than 20 times with business associates to sell “the brand,” also told Goldman the Bidens intimidated people into not legally probing the family’s business activities.

Archer told Goldman that Hunter Biden was able to survive on the board of Burisma Holdings because of the Biden brand.

“I don’t understand. How does that have an impact?” Goldman asked.

“The capabilities to navigate D.C. that they were able to basically be in the news cycle. And I think that preserved them from a longevity standpoint. Mom of Two Dies From Drinking Too Much Water After Feeling Dehydrated on Family Trip

An Indiana mother of two who told her family it felt like she couldn’t drink enough water to feel satiated collapsed and died from water toxicity — a rare consequence of drinking too much water too quickly.

Ashley Summers, 35, was out at Lake Freeman with her husband and two young daughters over the Fourth of July weekend when she began feeling severely dehydrated.

“Someone said she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes,” her brother Devon Miller told WRTV. “I mean, an average water bottle is like 16 ounces, so that was 64 ounces that she drank in a span of 20 minutes. That’s half a gallon. That’s what you’re supposed to drink in a whole day.” . . .

“My sister, Holly, called me, and she was just an absolute wreck. She was like ‘Ashley is in the hospital. She has brain swelling, they don’t know what’s causing it, they don’t know what they can do to get it to go down, and it’s not looking good,’” said Miller.
