Biden to Pick Female Admiral for Top Navy Officer, Going Against Defense Department Recommendation

President Joe Biden on Friday nominated Adm. Lisa Franchetti to become the Navy’s top officer, passing over a recommendation from the secretary of defense to select the Navy’s Pacific Fleet commander for the role.

Franchetti currently serves as the vice chief of naval operations and was considered by administration insiders as the top choice to become the Navy’s representative on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and would be the first ever female member, according to The Associated Press, citing U.S. officials speaking anonymously before the nomination was officially announced. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recommended Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander of the Pacific Fleet, for the role in early June, passing over Franchetti, NBC News first reported.

“I’m very proud that Admiral Franchetti has been nominated to be the first woman Chief of Naval Operations and member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where she will continue to inspire all of us,” Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in an emailed statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Biden will instead nominate Paparo to become the next leader of Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), the administration said Friday.

Biden selected Franchetti for her broad experience in commanding and administrative roles that demanded high levels of responsibility and decision-making acumen alongside knowledge of budgeting and navigating bureaucracy, the official told the AP. She previously headed the 6th Fleet and U.S. Naval Forces Korea.

Biden $10M Bribe File Released: Burisma Chief Said He Was ‘Coerced’ to Pay Joe, ‘Stupid’ Hunter in Bombshell Allegations

By New York Post. A bombshell FBI informant file describing a $10 million bribery allegation against President Biden and his son Hunter was released Thursday by Sen. Chuck Grassley, showing that a Ukrainian oligarch claimed that he was “coerced” into making the payoff.

Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of natural gas company Burisma Holdings, told the FBI informant in 2016 while meeting at a coffee shop in Vienna, Austria, that “it cost 5 [million] to pay one Biden, and 5 [million] to another Biden,” according to the redacted FD-1023 form.

“Zlochevsky made some comment that although Hunter Biden ‘was stupid, and his (Zlochevsky’s) dog was smarter,’ Zlochevsky needed to keep Hunter Biden (on Burisma’s board) ‘so everything will be okay,’” the June 2020 document says.

The source asked whether Hunter Biden or Joe Biden told Zlochevsky he should “retain” the younger Biden; Zlochevsky allegedly replied, “They both did.”

The federal informant — a Ukrainian-American who has been a trusted, highly credible FBI source for over a decade and been paid “six figures,” according to Grassley — described four conversations with Zlochevsky, beginning with a meeting near Kyiv in late 2015 or early 2016 and continuing through a 2019 phone call. Ukrainian Oligarch Who Allegedly Bribed the Bidens Was ‘Forced’ Into Sending Money, FBI Form Says

By Daily Caller. Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian oligarch who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden, was “coerced” into sending them money, according to an FBI FD-1023 form released Thursday by Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley.

Zlochevsky and the confidential human source (CHS) allegedly participated in a phone call after the 2016 presidential election, in which Zlochevsky said he was “pushed to pay” the Bidens and did not want to send the money, according to the form.

“CHS asked Zlochevsky whether he was concerned about Burisma’s involvement with the Bidens. Zlochevsky stated he didn’t want to pay the Bidens and he was ‘pushed to pay’ them,” the FD-1023 form reads.

“(CHS explained the Russian term Zlochevsky used to explain the payments was ‘poluchili’ (transliterated by the CHS), which literally translates to ‘got it’ or ‘received it,’ but is also used in Russian-criminal-slang for being ‘forced or coerced to pay’,” the form continues.

“CHS then stated, ‘l hope you have some back-up (proof) for your words (namely, that Zlochevsky was ‘forced’ to pay the Bidens). Zlochevsky replied he has many text messages and ‘recordings’ that show that he was coerced to make such payments,” the form adds. Whoopi Loses It Over Jason Aldean Song, Says BLM Rioters Were ‘Taking Care’ of Their Towns

Whoopi Goldberg unleashed on country music star Jason Aldean, noting that critics have said that the lyrics to his new song are “racist” and arguing that Black Lives Matter rioters were only “taking care” of their towns when they looted and destroyed businesses.

Goldberg made the comments during Thursday’s broadcast of “The View” on ABC, following controversy over Aldean’s most recent release, “Try That in a Small Town.” She argued that Black Lives Matter rioters were no different than the small-town people depicted in Aldean’s music video defending their own.

“He’s talking about people taking care of each other, and I find it so interesting that it never occurred to Jason or the writers that that’s what these folks were doing,” Goldberg asserted. “They were taking care of the people in their town because they didn’t like what they saw, just like you’re talking about people taking care of each other in small towns. We do the same thing in big towns.”

Goldberg again accused Aldean of making the song a commentary about Black Lives Matter — despite the fact that the group was not mentioned once in the song.

Document: FBI Knew About ‘Big Guy’ Joe Biden’s Ukraine Business Before Laptop From Hell Reporting

The FBI knew about President Joe Biden’s Ukraine business dealings before the “Laptop from Hell” reporting, an FBI informant document released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) shows.

The FD-1023 form is dated June 20, 2020, and the source reporting was from June 26, 2020.

The form alleges that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden each received $5 million from Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Burisma Holdings, after Joe Biden threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine until President Petro Poroshenko fired a prosecutor investigating Burisma.

It also confirms Breitbart News’s reporting that the FBI’s informant document said that Hunter and Joe Biden allegedly “coerced” the Burisma executive into paying them $10 million in bribes, along with Grassley’s claim that the FBI informant said Zlochevsky kept 17 audio recordings of his conversations with Hunter and Joe Biden as an “insurance policy.”

The dates on the form predate the New York Post’s initial reporting about the “big guy” from “Laptop from Hell” in mid-October 2020. (Read more from “Document: FBI Knew About ‘Big Guy’ Joe Biden’s Ukraine Business Before Laptop From Hell Reporting” HERE)

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. During Weaponization Hearing: Censorship Is the ‘Beginning of Totalitarianism’

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. warned during a Thursday hearing on censorship at the House Weaponization Subcommittee that “a government that can censor its critics has license for every atrocity.”

Kennedy, a Democrat presidential candidate, made the comments in response to a question from Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), asking witnesses to describe the potential ramifications of not talking about and exposing the weaponization of the United States government.

“A government that can censor its critics has license for every atrocity. It is the beginning of totalitarianism. There’s never been a time in history when we look back, and the guys who were censoring people were the good guys,” Kennedy replied.

“All of us grew up reading Arthur Koestler, Robert Heinlein, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, and they were all saying the same thing: once you start censoring, you’re on your way to dystopia and totalitarianism,” he added.

Democrats notably tried to censor Kennedy after his opening statement during the hearing, in which he defended his record on racism and antisemitism, and disputed claims by 102 Democrats in a letter that he had allegedly “spread vile and dangerous antisemitic and anti-Asian conspiracy theories.” (Read more from “Robert F. Travis King: Details Emerge on U.S. Soldier Who Crossed Into North Korea

North Korea was silent Wednesday about the status of an American soldier who “bolted” across the inter-Korean border into the isolated communist country a day earlier, as more details emerged about the 23-year-old Army private.

Meanwhile, nuclear-armed North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles eastward from its west coast early Wednesday local time, South Korea and Japan said.

Pvt. 2nd Class Travis King is in North Korean custody after crossing the heavily fortified border “willfully and without authorization,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday.

King, who had recently been released from a South Korean prison, had been escorted by the military to Incheon International Airport outside Seoul, the capital, for possible further disciplinary action in the United States.

But instead of proceeding to his gate, a senior administration official told NBC News, he joined a commercial tour group headed for the joint security area. The truce village, also known as Panmunjom, is about an hour and a half from the airport and is the only place along the approximately 155-mile Demilitarized Zone where North Korea and South Korea interact. IRS Whistleblower Says Joe Biden Showed Up to FBI Office During Probe

Wednesday’s IRS whistleblower testimony was filled new information. While discussing the Biden family probe, IRS Agent Joseph Ziegler said Joe Biden was “extremely well known” to feds investigating Hunter and that he showed up at an FBI office during the probe. . .

“This was later evident by the president, Joe Biden, having to come into the FBI office on an unrelated matter, and it being joked [about] with the team,” Ziegler added, presumably referring to the bureau’s Baltimore field office. “Another example was that a magistrate judge in Delaware made inappropriate comments at the signing of the first electronic search warrant that had caused her to recuse themself from the investigation, which set us back an additional 4 months as we had to draft new warrants and redo investigative steps.”

Trump-Loving Ex-CEO Claims to Have ‘Naughty’ Evidence Against Jack Smith

Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne claims to have material that could be used against special counsel Jack Smith.

The right-wing former tech mogul responded to Donald Trump’s revelation that he had received a target letter in the Jan. 6 investigation by suggesting he had damning video involving Smith, who has twice served posts to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, reported Newsweek.

Byrne, who resigned from Overstock in 2019 over his relationship with suspected Russian spy Maria Butina, testified for nearly eight hours last July in the House select committee investigation of Trump’s efforts to remain in power despite his 2020 election loss. Survey: Americans’ Belief in God, Heaven at Lowest Point in 22 Years

Just 59% of 18- to 34-year-olds in the U.S. say they believe in God, a prime factor in the decline of overall belief in God from 90% in 2001 to 74% in May, a Gallup poll shows.

Overall belief in God, angels, heaven, hell and the devil, which Gallup termed the five “spiritual entities,” has reached its lowest point in 22 years, according to survey results released Thursday.

In its May survey, Gallup’s fifth since 2001, 69% percent overall said they believe angels are real, down 12 percentage points since the start of this century.

Sixty-seven percent overall said they believe in heaven, a 16-point drop from 2001, and 59% said they believe in hell, down 12 points from 2001.

Fifty-eight percent expressed belief in the devil, a 10-percentage-point decline over the 22-year period. (Read more from “Survey: Americans’ Belief in God, Heaven at Lowest Point in 22 Years” HERE)

White House Quietly Taking Steps to Compensate for Biden’s Age

Age is arguably President Joe Biden’s biggest obstacle heading into the 2024 election cycle, and though his team has publicly denied it being an issue, it has quietly taken steps to account for the octogenarian’s limitations.

If reelected, Biden would be 86 by the end of a second term. He is already the oldest person to ever serve as president.

A Wednesday report from Politico notes that Biden is frequently forgoing the large, portable stairs at the main Air Force One entrance in favor of a smaller, retractable set near the cockpit. The president has taken a number of falls during his two-plus years in office while boarding Air Force One, in addition to his onstage tumble at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

The undercarriage staircase has only 14 steps, compared to nearly 30 on the larger set. The outlet noted that the larger, portable staircase can oftentimes become slick regardless of the weather and are wobbly. Former President Barack Obama also nearly fell down those steps while deboarding Air Force One in March of 2015.
