Republicans Advance Bill Requiring Texas Public Schools to Display Ten Commandments (VIDEO)

Republicans in the Texas State Senate have passed a pair of bills that would require public schools to display the Ten Commandments, give students and staff a daily prayer period, and allow teachers to read the Bible.

Late last week, the Texas State Senate passed the bills, both with a 17-12 vote, and they now head to the state’s House of Representatives. The first bill, sponsored by State Sen. Phil King (R) would require all public schools in Texas to display the Ten Commandments.

“This is an American tradition,” King said. “If schools in Texas do not have it in their funding to [display the Ten Commandments], they can accept private dollars for this.”

The second bill, sponsored by State Sen. Mayes Middleton (R), would require public schools to give students and staff a daily period of prayer time. Likewise, the bill would allow teachers to read the Bible and other religious texts as part of the curriculum. At Least a Dozen Biden Relatives Will Be Exposed in Foreign-Money Deals: Comer

Even more relatives of President Biden — or at least a dozen in all — will be exposed for having received money from foreign entities, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee said Sunday.

“There’s not going to be anybody left for a Christmas picture if the [Department of Justice] did their job and went in there and indicted everyone that has any type of fingerprints involved in this influence-peddling scheme,” said Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky) to Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” show.

“I mean, it’s the entire family,” Comer said. “And there isn’t a single one of those family members that had the ability to do anything to influence foreign policy other than the big guy, Joe Biden.”

Comer said the number of implicated Biden family members will jump from 9 to at least 12, with the president’s son Hunter and brother Frank’s foreign dealings just the tip of the iceberg.

He said his oversight committee is still reviewing bank records and “suspicious activity reports” that indicate members of the first family are benefiting from dealing with foreign entities through limited liability companies that seek to shield identities. Elon Musk Torches Stephen King over Blue Check, Ukraine

Twitter owner and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and author Stephen King have been duking it out over the blue-check verification badges since Musk first announced his plan to charge a monthly fee — and King attempted to escalate matters on Saturday.

The acclaimed horror author — who remains verified despite his repeated claims that he has not paid the requisite fee — responded to Musk’s implication that he was footing the bill personally by suggesting he do something else with his money.

Musk replied to King on Sunday, saying, “I’ve donated $100M to Ukraine, how much have you donated? (We turned down the DoD money btw).”

The spat began when King first learned of Musk’s plan to charge a fee for verification — which he initially said would be $20 per month.

IRS Commissioner Dumbfounded by Hunter Biden Whistleblower Accusations; Hunter Biden: IRS Whistleblower’s Claims Are a ‘Felony’

By Breitbart. IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel was dumbfounded in a Thursday closed-door Senate Finance Committee meeting about IRS whistleblower complaints that contend two Biden administration political appointees within the Justice Department have blocked charges against Hunter Biden for tax violations, a source familiar with the meeting told Breitbart News.

Commissioner Werfel, who was placed as the head of the IRS by President Joe Biden, had no answer for Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) when she questioned him about the whistleblower’s bombshell allegations.

“When did you know about the whistleblower? When did you know about this misconduct of Hunter Biden? How did you find out, did you try to block any part of this investigation?” Blackburn demanded to know.

“I’m asking about your and the IRS participation in this, not the particulars of Hunter’s returns,” she added. . .

“Senator, um, this is the way I’m gonna, uh, I’d like to answer,” he said. “First of all, I, I think you know this. I, I’m, I’m only a few weeks into my term here at the IRS.” (Read more from “IRS Commissioner Dumbfounded by Hunter Biden Whistleblower Accusations” HERE)

Hunter Biden: IRS Whistleblower’s Claims Are a ‘Felony’

By Breitbart. Hunter Biden’s legal defense on Thursday argued it is a “felony” for an IRS whistleblower to reveal that two Biden administration political appointees within the Department of Justice (DOJ) allegedly blocked charges against Hunter for tax violations despite recommendations.

Hunter’s attorney, Chris Clark, said in a statement that “[i]t appears this IRS agent has committed a crime” by asking lawmakers for whistleblower protections to reveal allegations of deep politicization within the DOJ.

Clark, a high-profile attorney who leads Hunter’s criminal defense, said it’s improper because “it is a felony for an IRS agent to improperly disclose information about an ongoing tax investigation.”

“The IRS has incredible power, and abusing that power by targeting, embarrassing, or disclosing information about a private citizen’s tax matters undermines Americans’ faith in the federal government,” Clark said. (Read more from “Hunter Biden: IRS Whistleblower’s Claims Are a ‘Felony’” HERE)

If You Thought Epstein’s Death Was Weird, Wait Until You Hear This Update…

During his Fox News program Wednesday night, Tucker Carlson left viewers stunned after revealing that authorities said there were no recordings of the calls made by Jeffery Epstein, a former inmate incarcerated in the city, where he was later found dead in his jail cell. At the time, authorities claimed Epstein committed suicide.

“So it looks like the NYPD deleted the recordings of 911 calls from the jail. So we thought, well, how about the FBI? We called over to the FBI to say do you have any 911 recordings from the jail, from the federal lockup, and we got no response,” Carlson claimed on his primetime show. . .

Epstein had a long history of funding the Democratic causes, especially those of former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State. Epstein’s contributions to both the Clinton Foundation and Bill Gates’ foundation, put him in touch with some of the most wealthy people in the world, who he also reportedly hosted on his private island. Alyssa Milano Has Funniest Meltdown After Removal of Her ‘Legacy Check,’ Elon Has Perfect Response

. . .Twitter head Elon Musk had announced that the “legacy blue checks” would go away by 4/20 if people didn’t pay for a Twitter Blue subscription. He went through with it, and as I noted, the liberal fits were something to behold. . .

Milano has had some epic tantrums at Twitter and Musk in the past. Whatever the current liberal “thing” is, Milano will eagerly jump aboard it. So when the left went into their “hate on Elon Musk” mode, she was right there, even though she had praised him in the past. Once he was put on the “hate list,” she said she had “given back” her Tesla because Musk “now wants to ENABLE Nazism.” What did she claim to have replaced her Tesla with? A Volkswagen electric vehicle. She then had to be told about the history of Volkswagen and the connection to the actual Nazis (not the “everyone is a Nazi if I don’t like them” Nazis).

But on Thursday, she proved once again that the only thing she has a grasp on is the latest liberal narrative. . .

How typically liberal that she thinks that she should get something for nothing because she’s special and she shouldn’t have to pay. . .

But Elon Musk, with his typical humor, had an answer for Milano’s trauma. He responded to Ed Krassenstein who was defending Milano.

The State’s Senate Just Approved a Firearm Training Fund for Teachers

Indiana lawmakers advanced a bill this week that would make state funding available for teachers who want to be trained on how to use a firearm.

The legislation, H.B. 1177, which passed 42-8 in the state Senate, was first advanced in the state House in February, according to the Associated Press. On Tuesday, two Democrats joined all Republicans in supporting the bill.

Proponents of the bill said that 40 hours of voluntary firearm training would prepare educators to defend themselves and their students in the event of an active shooter situation. The training would be covered by the state, and schools could apply for this funding in the event of a school shooting “to cover the costs of counseling” for students and staffers.

State Sen. Travis Holdman, the bill’s sponsor, reportedly said that he wished this kind of training was mandatory. Previous efforts to offer this kind of training have failed. H.B. 1177 bill passed the House earlier this year in a 71-24 vote. (Read more from “The State’s Senate Just Approved a Firearm Training Fund for Teachers” HERE)

Donald Trump Is Crushing Ron DeSantis in the Polls

Former President Donald Trump appears to be crushing his potential Republican rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, in a number of recent polls before DeSantis has even entered the presidential race.

A new Harris/Harvard poll conducted from April 18 to 19 showed Trump leading the Florida governor by 35 points among Republican voters in a hypothetical GOP presidential primary.

Trump announced his re-election bid shortly after the 2022 midterm elections but DeSantis has not yet formally launched a presidential campaign despite speculation that he will jump into the race.

The Harris/Harvard poll found Trump with 55 percent support among GOP voters—far ahead of DeSantis on 20 percent and former Vice President Mike Pence on just 7 percent and other potential candidates recording less than 5 percent each. Former GOP Rep Trashes Ron DeSantis for Supposedly Not Being Friendly While in Congress

A former Republican congressman from Michigan trashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for not being friendly and personable during their time serving on the same committee in Congress.

David Trott, the former Michigan representative, “sat right next to” the Florida governor on the House Foreign Affairs Committee for two years and never heard a “single word” out of DeSantis, he told Politico. Trott slammed the governor for being “arrogant” and an “a**hole,” and wasn’t shocked that so many Florida representatives are backing former President Donald Trump in 2024 instead of DeSantis.

“I go to my first [House Foreign Affairs Committee] hearing early, and DeSantis showed up right at the gavel time and didn’t say hello or introduce himself,” Trott said. “And then the next hearing, the same thing happened. I think the third time it happened, I thought, ‘Oh, this guy’s not ever going to say hello to me.’”

Trott, who was a freshman member at the time, expected DeSantis to introduce himself, and when he didn’t, Trott took the initiative, he told Politico. While Trott said he realized that the governor has “talent” and is able to bolster voters by advancing “hot button issues,” he said DeSantis lacked a friendly personality.
“If you’re going to go into politics, kind of a fundamental skill that you should have is likability. I don’t think [he] has that,” Trott said. “He never developed any relationships with other members that I know of. You’d never see him talking on the floor with other people or palling around. He’s just a very arrogant guy, very focused on Ron DeSantis.”

Trott said the governor’s “awkward” interactions are playing out in his “pre-presidential campaign” among the Florida congressmembers, as many have thrown their support behind Trump, he told Politico. The former president has the backing of Reps. John Rutherford, Brian Mast, Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Greg Steube, Cory Mills and Byron Daniels, while DeSantis only has the endorsement of Rep. Laurel Lee. (Read more from “Former GOP Rep Trashes Ron DeSantis for Supposedly Not Being Friendly While in Congress” HERE)

4 Out of 5 Americans Say We’re in a Recession or Will Be Within a Year

The U.S. economy gets poor marks from most Americans, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released Friday.

Forty-nine percent of Americans expect the economy will be in a recession in the next year, the poll showed. Another 39 percent say the economy is already in a recession.

Just twenty percent say the economy will avoid a recession.

The numbers are striking because by many measures the economy remains resilient. The unemployment rate is just 3.5 percent and although layoffs have picked up recently, they remain low by historical measures. The economy grew at a 2.6 percent seasonally adjusted annualized rate in the last three months of 2023. Next Thursday, the government will release its estimate for first quarter growth, which many economists expect to come in around two percent. . .

Likely as a result of inflation, a majority of Americans say their financial situation is worsening. The Harvard CAPS-Harris survey showed 52 percent said their personal financial situation is getting worse, up from 48 percent a month ago. Just 25 percent say their financial situation is improving. Sixty-two percent describe the U.S. economy as weak and 63 percent say the economy is on the “wrong track.” (Read more from “4 Out of 5 Americans Say We’re in a Recession or Will Be Within a Year” HERE)
