Cheaper to Drive Gas-Powered Car 100 Miles Than Average Electric Car

Thanks to skyrocketing electricity prices, it now costs more to drive the average electric vehicle 100 miles than it does to drive a gas-powered car the same distance.

A report from the Anderson Economic Group (AEG) shows that driving a gas-powered car 100 miles costs an average of $11.29. However, the cost for people who drive electric vehicles and charge up at home is $11.60 per hundred miles. A little more expensive. . .

For those electric car owners who use recharging stations, the average cost for 100 miles is substantially higher at $14.40.

But at least you’re saving the planet, right? . . .

Oh, wait, you’re not saving the planet because most of the “clean” electricity you use to charge your eco-car comes from burning fossil fuels…so lol. (Read more from “Cheaper to Drive Gas-Powered Car 100 Miles Than Average Electric Car” HERE)

California’s Medical Misinformation Law Struck Down

So far, California has shown to be turning an even deeper corner in 2023. On January 1, several far-left laws went into effect.[…]Perhaps one of those most worrisome laws mentioned above included a law that punished physicians for so-called medical misinformation about COVID-19, which was blocked late last week.

According to a report from Reuters‘ Brendan Pierson:

Senior U.S. District Judge William Shubb in Sacramento ruled on Wednesday that Assembly Bill 2098, which was signed last October by California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, was too vague for doctors to know what kind of statements might put them at risk of being penalized.”COVID-19 is a quickly evolving area of science that in many aspects eludes consensus,” he wrote.

The preliminary order means that the law cannot be enforced while Shubb hears two lawsuits brought against the law shortly after its passage last year – one by a group of five doctors, and another by a doctor and two advocacy groups including Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s Children’s Health Defense, which has long promoted false information about standard childhood vaccines.

The law, known as Assembly Bill 2098, which was signed into law last October, required medical licensing boards in the state to take disciplinary action against physicians who were involved in so-called “dissemination or misinformation or disinformation” related to COVID-19. Marine Corps Opens First New Base In Decades

The U.S. Marine Corps opened its first new base in 70 years Thursday on Guam, an island equidistant between Japan and Taiwan to allow American troops to act if China makes a move on Taiwan, according to media reports.

The 4,000 acre base, formally known as Camp Blaz, will house approximately 5,000 Marines and comes as the U.S. is seeking to reorganize troop presence in the Pacific to bolster deterrence against China, according to CNN. It will eventually serve as a training hub for Marines aiming to guard allies, critical sea lanes and Pacific islands in the event of a Chinese invasion, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“Forward, persistent presence is key to the regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific,” Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger said, according to a Corps press release.

“Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz is a critical part of that. More than that, it shows our undivided relationship with the government of Japan,” he added.

The U.S. and Japan agreed on Jan. 11 to restructure the Marine Corps force stationed in Okinawa, giving them more firepower and the ability to quickly respond as China readies for a potential offensive against Taiwan. A new strategy will arm the roughly 18,000 Marines deployed to Okinawa with missiles that can reach the Chinese mainland and increase their maneuverability if they are called upon to defend Taiwan. Ongoing Egg Shortage: 100,000 Hens Are Fried in Massive Blaze at Major Egg Facility

. . .The scene of the blaze was Hillandale Farms’ egg installation in Bozrah, Connecticut, where firefighters from 20 departments in the surrounding area had to be deployed to deal with the inferno (via CT Insider):

About 100,000 chickens died in a large weekend egg farm fire, according the state’s farming agency.

Officials are still trying to confirm the exact number of egg-laying hens that died at Hillandale Farm Saturday, said Rebecca E. Murphy, spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Agriculture. Damage at the farm at 17 Schwartz Road in Bozrah was limited to a single structure, Murphy said.

“The Connecticut Department of Agriculture commends the swift actions of both employees and the many first responder units to contain the fire at Hillandale Farms in Bozrah to a single structure, preventing any additional losses,” she said.

Nuclear Strike Chief Seeks Cancer Review of Missile Crews

The top Air Force general in charge of the nation’s air- and ground-launched nuclear missiles has requested an official investigation into the number of airmen who are reporting blood cancer diagnoses after serving at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

The illnesses became publicly known this week after The Associated Press obtained a military brief that at least nine missileers — those officers serving in underground bunkers near silo-based Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles and responsible for turning launch keys if ordered — were reporting diagnoses of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. One of the officers has died.

Gen. Thomas A. Bussiere, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, which is responsible for all of the silo-based and aircraft-launched nuclear warheads, said in a statement to the AP Friday that he has requested that the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine conduct a formal assessment into the reported cancers. Doctors Say They’ll Be Refusing More COVID Shots

. . .[A]ccording to a report in the Epoch Times, doctors, “a growing number,” have confirmed they won’t be taking any more COVID boosters until there’s evidence they help.

According to the report, Dr. Todd Lee, an infectious disease expert at McGill University, said on social media, “I have taken my last COVID vaccine without RCT level evidence it will reduce my risk of severe disease.” . . .

According to the report, Lee has gotten three vaccine doses, but got the Omicron virus variant anyway.

Another physician, Dr. Vinay Prasad, of the University of California in San Francisco, told the Epoch Times he’s not taking more shots.

“I took at least 1 dose against my will. It was unethical and scientifically bankrupt,” he charged.

And Allison Krug, who co-authored a study showing teen boys were more likely to suffer heart inflammation after taking COVID shots, said her own doctor agreed with her when she refused a booster. (Read more from “Doctors Say They’ll Be Refusing More COVID Shots” HERE)

‘Absolutely Not’: Swalwell Claims His Relationship With Suspected Chinese Spy Didn’t Compromise U.S. Security

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) claimed during an interview on Sunday that his past relationship with a suspected Chinese spy did not compromise U.S. national security.

Swalwell made the remarks during an interview broadcast on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday while talking about being booted off the House Intelligence Committee.

“Did you put yourself in a vulnerable position in any way, so that this alleged Chinese spy could have benefited or even learned American secrets?” Bash asked.

“Absolutely not,” Swalwell responded. “But, Dana, don’t take my word for it. Take the FBI’s word for it. They never talk about ongoing investigations. And former Chairman [Adam] Schiff knows this, as a member of the Gang of Eight. Three different times, they came out and said two things. All I did was help them and, also, I was never under any suspicion of wrongdoing.”

Biden Doomed in 2024 Over Classified Docs Scandal, Hunter Probes: Ex-Clinton Adviser

The classified-documents scandal involving President Biden and the impending House probes into son Hunter’s business dealings will doom the commander in chief’s 2024 re-election bid, veteran political operative Dick Morris predicted Sunday.

“That’s going to be the absolute end for Biden,” Morris, a former adviser to Democratic former President Bill Clinton, told John Catsimatidis on his WABC radio show, referring to the issues.

Morris pointed out on “The Cats Roundtable” that classified documents were found at the president’s Delaware home dating back to when first son Hunter Biden lived there.

Morris also claimed that some of the sensitive materials coincided with when Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company. Hunter has been accused by critics of using his position as Biden’s son for his personal gain while on the board.

The Post reported last week that Hunter listed the Wilmington home as his address after his divorce from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle in 2017, two years before he resigned from Burisma’s board. (READ MORE FROM “Biden Doomed in 2024 Over Classified Docs Scandal, Hunter Probes: Ex-Clinton Adviser” HERE)

State Bans Hormone Therapy and Gender Surgeries for Minors

Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox signed a bill Saturday that will ban gender affirming treatment and surgery for minors identifying as transgender in the state.

The bill, dubbed SB0016, was sponsored by Republican state Sen. Michael Kennedy in December who argued that current gender-affirming procedures “lack sufficient research” calling the nationwide push to enter this version of healthcare “radical and dangerous,” KUER reported.

SB0016 will prohibit health care providers from administering “a hormonal transgender treatment to new patients who were not diagnosed with gender dysphoria before a certain date,” it will prohibit doctors from “performing sex characteristic surgical procedures on a minor for the purpose of effectuating a sex change,”and it requires the Utah Department of Health and Human Services to “conduct a systematic review of the medical evidence regarding hormonal transgender treatments and provide recommendations to the Legislature.”

The bill was hotly contested within the Utah Legislature, most notably by Republican Sen. Daniel Thatcher who argued that the legislation would ban potentially life-saving care from transgender youth, citing an American Academy of Pediatrics study on transgender suicide rates, KUER reported. A trio of former Twitter employees will appear before the House Oversight Committee for testimony on Feb. 8, marking the first session for the committee under chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY).

The three unidentified ex-employees will testify before the committee about the social media platform’s decision to censor a story on Hunter Biden’s laptop published by the New York Post shortly before the 2020 presidential election, according to Fox News.

Additionally, the committee will be looking for answers about classified documents that were found inside President Joe Biden’s home located in Wilmington, Delaware. The classified documents were found in the president’s garage in Delaware in December, and more classified documents were found in his Delaware home on Jan. 12.
