The Biden Administration’s Attacks and Misleading Excuses in East Palestine Can’t Survive Scrutiny

. . .’Blame the GOP’ is what they finally landed on, nearly three weeks after the accident. Naturally. It’s fair to point out that train derailments are more common than one might think in America, and it’s also fair to question if some Republican critiques of the Biden administration’s delayed and weak response to this incident may be somewhat hypocritical and political in nature (though the nature of this derailment distinguishes it from a ‘typical’ event in this category). Pointing the finger at the opposition party is feeble stuff, especially since it took them so long to cobble together their blame-storming talking points. But it also looks like it’s factually wrong:

The decision they’re trying to pin on Trump arises from a process that started under Obama. The Department of Transportation looked into the rule in question and determined that the benefits didn’t outweigh the costs, so the recommendation to follow through on the change (no longer mandating a certain type of brake on certain trains) was accepted and implemented during the Trump years. Crucially, under the regulations, the shift would not have applied to the train that derailed in Ohio, so “there’s no possible way to blame the rescinding of that rule” for what happened. But that didn’t stop the White House from doing so anyway. For his part, Buttigieg is also engaged in a political battle over all of this, since that’s been the top priority all along. He’s been sparring with Sen. Marco Rubio, and appears to be relying on distortions and misleading claims to make it seem as though he’s been a great champion for rail safety — only to be thwarted by the evil Big Train lobby and their Republican enablers:

“The facts don’t lie,” Buttigieg asserts, to his usual chorus of clapping-seal applause from online liberals. But political actors do lie. Note the sleight of hand allegedly at play here:

Yet Another Nearly Catastrophic Air Collision Narrowly Averted, According to Report

A collision was narrowly averted at a U.S. airport in California after a plane was forced to abort its landing because air traffic control cleared another plane for take-off, officials state.

Mesa Airlines Flight 5826 was preparing to land at the Hollywood Burbank Airport on the evening of Feb. 22 when an air traffic controller cleared SkyWest Airlines Embraer E175 to take off from the same runway, NBC News reported. Although the Mesa Airlines flight was only 1.3 miles away, the pilot was able to discontinue the landing procedure and climb out as the SkyWest flight took off from the runway, the outlet added.

This latest snafu is just another in a number of recent near-miss incidents that prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to launch a “call to action” earlier in February. (Read more from “Yet Another Nearly Catastrophic Air Collision Narrowly Averted, According to Report” HERE)

Skin-Rotting Drug Infiltrates Big Cities: ‘Zombifying Bodies’

There’s a new drug in town — and it has deadly consequences.

Xylazine — otherwise known as “tranq,” “tranq dope” and “zombie drug” — is wreaking havoc in major cities across the country with its devastating effects: It can literally rot the user’s skin.

The substance, which seemed to first appear in Philadelphia before migrating west to San Francisco and Los Angeles, was used for cutting heroin, but, most recently, it has been discovered in fentanyl and other illicit drugs.

While approved by the Food and Drug Administration for veterinary use, xylazine, a non-opioid, is not safe for humans, and those who overdose on the drug do not respond to naloxone, or Narcan, the most common overdose reversal treatment.

Xylazine causes sedative-like symptoms, such as excessive sleepiness and respiratory depression, as well as raw wounds that can become severe and spread rapidly with repeated exposure. The crusty ulcerations, which can become dead skin called eschar, can result in amputation if left untreated. (Read more from “Skin-Rotting Drug Infiltrates Big Cities: ‘Zombifying Bodies'” HERE)

Report: Kinetic Attacks on U.S. Power Grid Spiked 71% In 2022

A division of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation indicated in a recent study that physical attacks on the U.S. power grid spiked by 71% in 2022 over the previous year, reported the Wall Street Journal.

According to the grid oversight body’s Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center division, vandalism, ballistic damage, and intrusion drove the increase.

NewsNation noted that Duke Energy Florida experienced several “substation intrusion events’ in September. For instance, on Sept. 21, an intruder busted into the Zephyrhills North substation in Pasco County, Florida, sabotaging equipment that resulted in a nine-minute-long outage.

Substations convert high-voltage electricity into lower voltages for use by businesses and residences.

According to Central Oregon Daily, one of the Bonneville Power Administration’s substations in Clackamas County, Oregon, was hit on Nov. 24. (Read more from “Report: Kinetic Attacks on U.S. Power Grid Spiked 71% In 2022” HERE)

Behind the Scenes with Trump in East Palestine: ‘You Are Not Forgotten’

Former President Donald Trump delivered a positive and hopeful message to residents of the small Ohio town grappling with the aftermath of a train derailment that spilled toxic chemicals into the environment. “You are not forgotten,” he told the East Palestine community on Wednesday.

Breitbart News accompanied Trump on his trip to East Palestine, where the 45th president delivered truckloads of pallets of bottled water to the town’s residents, who are worried about the water quality in the area as a result of the recent train disaster.

It was a cold, rainy Wednesday afternoon in Northeast Ohio, but that didn’t stop President Trump from visiting East Palestine. . .

East Palestine City Park reverberated with chants of “Trump 24!” and “We love Trump!” while the former president visited a creek, where he spoke with Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH), and East Palestine mayor Trent R. Conaway.

President Trump also took time to greet a crowd of supporters, who could be heard exclaiming, “I love you!” and “Thank you for coming, Mr. Trump!” (Read more from “Behind the Scenes with Trump in East Palestine: ‘You Are Not Forgotten’” HERE)

Latter-Day Saints Church Fined Millions for Allegedly Using Shell Companies to Hide Assets: SEC

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon church, has been fined millions of dollars for supposedly hiding the size and scope of its actual investments, which now likely total more than $40 billion.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced on Tuesday that it had conducted an extensive investigation into the finances of the LDS church that stretched back decades. According to the SEC, between 1997 and 2019, the church and its investment firm, Ensign Peak, funneled funds through 13 shell companies in order to obscure the extent of the church’s assets, which are currently estimated to be close to $44 billion. The LDS church manages to maintain such a well-stocked treasury because it asks its members to donate a tenth of their earnings, a biblical practice known as “tithing.”

The SEC statement claimed that church and firm leaders believed that the LDS church would face “negative consequences,” should the full scope of its investments be made known. To prevent that from happening, “the LDS Church’s investment manager, with the Church’s knowledge, went to great lengths to avoid disclosing the Church’s investments,” the SEC said.

The SEC also alleged that the names of different church leaders were utilized on various disclosure forms to further obfuscate the appropriation of funds. Meanwhile, the church and Ensign Peak had actually invested heavily in global enterprises, like Apple, Microsoft, United Health, Google, Exxon Mobil, and Doe Chemical, the Daily Mail reported. Scottsdale Parents Call for Removal of Superintendent Who Called White People ‘Problematic’

Parents rallied at a Scottsdale Unified School District Board meeting to call for the removal of Superintendent Scott Menzel, who said that white people have a “problematic” racial identity.

“There’s a misperception that educational equity is really only for ethnically and racially diverse districts. But White people have racial identity as well, and in fact problematic racial identity that we typically avoid,” Menzel stated in an interview unearthed by Fox News.

He also went on to endorse White Fragility, a book by Critical Race theorist Robin DiAngelo that claims white people are the beneficiaries of systemic racism.

“So thinking about how hard can we push on the system without a collapse that disrupts the progress of the entire work and sets us back 20 years, that’s a question we don’t talk about often enough in my mind,” he said. “But also calling out the question of privilege. White people, Robin DiAngelo’s book “White Fragility” calls it straight up.”

Menzel, who was a superintendent for a Michigan school district when he gave the interview, also argued that “white people . . . shouldn’t feel comfortable, we should feel really, really uncomfortable, because we perpetuate a system by ignoring the realities in front of us, and living in a mythological reality.”

Here’s How Much You Have to Pay Bernie Sanders to Hear Him Bash Capitalism

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermontistan) has got the greatest gig on earth. It’s a job anyone can do, as long as you’re missing a conscience and a sense of irony.

Next week, Sanders will hold court at a hip music venue in Washington, D.C., during an event titled “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism.” There, he’ll hype his new book “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism.”

So here’s what’s great. The top-tier tickets — sold through Ticketmaster, the scourge of the universe — will cost you $95. But no they won’t. Ticketmaster tacks on a $16.45 “service fee” even when you order a ticket online.

The venue, called The Anthem, holds about 2,500 people when it’s configured for such an event. The prices range from $35 to $95, but most are $75 and above. Let’s say he sells half the tickets at an average of $75, that’d haul in $93,750. Nearly $100,000 to hear a millionaire bash capitalism.

Here’s another great thing: Buy a ticket priced $55 and above, and you get a free copy of his new book, “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism.” (Read more from “Here’s How Much You Have to Pay Bernie Sanders to Hear Him Bash Capitalism” HERE)

Idaho Murder Suspect Reportedly Had ‘Multiple’ Photos of Victim on His Phone

The 28-year-old suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho undergraduate students reportedly had several photos of one of the female victims on his phone, the New York Post reported Thursday.

Investigators who seized suspect Bryan Kohberger’s cell phone found several images of one of the female victims, a source familiar with the investigation reportedly said.

“He had more than one picture of her,” the source said, but did not identify which female victim the photos were of. “It was clear that he was paying attention to her.”

Last month, an investigator familiar with the case told People that Kohberger messaged one of the victims on Instagram “several times” before the murders.

“He slid into one of the girls’ DMs several times but she didn’t respond,” the investigator told the outlet. “Basically, it was just him saying ‘Hey, how are you?’ But he did it again and again.” (Read more from “Idaho Murder Suspect Reportedly Had ‘Multiple’ Photos of Victim on His Phone” HERE)

Cops Rule Suicide in Death of Clinton Aide Linked to Jeffrey Epstein – Who Was Found Shot and Tied to a Tree with an Electrical Cord around His Neck – Despite No Sign of Weapon

By Daily Mail. The grisly scene where a top Bill Clinton adviser was found hanged from a tree with a gunshot wound to his chest has finally been revealed nine months after he died.

But the sheriff’s report into Mark Middleton’s mysterious death raises more questions than answers as it rules he died by suicide – despite no sign of the weapon that killed him.

Middleton, 59, was found dead last May at the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, an hour west of Little Rock.

Release of the report was held up after members of his family petitioned a judge. They were worried that pictures from the gory scene would be made public.

The judge eventually ruled that details could be released but photographs could not. (Read more from “Cops Rule Suicide in Death of Clinton Aide Linked to Jeffrey Epstein – Who Was Found Shot and Tied to a Tree with an Electrical Cord around His Neck – Despite No Sign of Weapon” HERE)

Death of Shot Clinton Aide with Epstein Ties Found Tied to Tree Ruled Suicide — Despite No Gun at Scene

By New York Post. The mysterious death of an aide to President Bill Clinton with ties to Jeffrey Epstein has been officially ruled a suicide – despite there being no sign of a weapon near the body. . .

Almost one year after Middleton’s death, a police report obtained by the outlet this week revealed that the Little Rock businessman was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest and an extension cord tying his neck to a tree.

“I could see the male was obviously deceased,” Deputy Jeremy Lawson of the Perry County Sheriff’s Department wrote of his arrival at the grisly scene.

Notably, Lawson’s account includes that while officers located a gun case and three boxes of buckshot in Middleton’s BMW SUV, there was no weapon in sight.

Though the father of two worked for his family’s HVAC business in the years before his death, he previously enjoyed a high-flying lifestyle as special advisor to Clinton and assistant to the Chief of Staff, Thomas F. “Mack” McLarty.
